      • 저전력 직접 가변 안테나 변조를 위한 DGS 가변 임피던스 선로에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we proposed a variable-impedance microstrip circuit using DGS (Defected Ground Structure) and control device. The proposed variable-impedance transmission line with a simple planar antenna can change the resonant frequency and the input impedance of antenna to achieve the DAM (Direct Antenna Modulation). As an application example of the variable-impedance microstrip, we have implemented the ASK modulation of RF signal for the low-power consumption RFID applications. The experimental results show that a patch antenna with a resonant frequency of 2.45 GHz and a 30 MHz bandwidth can transmit a 1 Mbps digital modulated signal with the ultra low-power consumption.

        폐슬러지 감량화 및 재활용을 위한 오존 처리시 하수슬러지내의 미생물 군집구조의 변화

        The change of the microbial community structure in excess sludge of different sewage treatment plants by ozone treatment was investigated by quinone profiles. The resulting ozone dosage ranged from 0.1 to 0.4 gO₃/gTS. In terms of overall sludge reduction, more than 50% reduction of the total sludge mass could be achieved by ozone treatment at 0.4 gO₃/gTS. Quinone concentration and type in sludge of different treatment plants were remarkably decreases with increasing ozone dose. Ubiquinones(UQs)-8, -10 and MK-8 were still remained in the ozonized sludge at 0.4 gO₃/gTS. The results of this study showed that the remaining microorganisms belong to UQs-8, -10 and MK-8 were difficult to destruct cell membrane or wall by ozonation. Fecal Streptococci and Salmonella were not detected at ozone dose of 0.2 gO₃/gTS, but Fecal Colifom was not detected at ozone dose of 0.4 gO₃/gTS.

        흉골골절이 의심되는 외상환자에서 초음파의 진단적 효용성

        Purpose: This study compared the value of ultrasonography(US) in the diagnosis of sternal fractures with those of conventional radiography and bone scan. Material and Method: From March 2000 to March 2001, in Gil Medical Center, Gachon Medical College, 44 patients(22 women and 22 men, mean age 46 years, range 5∼81 years) complained of tenderness in the sternal area. The cases histories of these patients with clinically suspected sternal fracture due to blunt trauma were prospectively studied. At the time of admission, conventional radiography(sternal view) was done. At one day after admission, sternal ultrasonography was obtained, and after 4∼5 days, a bone scan was done. Sternal ultrasonographic findings, conventional radiographic findings, and bone-scan findings were compared. In addition, a 12-lead ECG was done. When it was necessary, cardiac enzyme was checked and echocardiography was performed. Result: In 21 of 44 patients(48%), a sternal fracture was found by sternal US. Only 9 of 21 patients (43%) were diagnosed as having a sternal fracture by using conventional radiography. 23 of 44 patients (52%) have negative findings on sternal US; they also had negative findings on conventional radiography. Except for 7 unchecked patients, 13 of 21 patients(62%) were diagnosed as having a sternal fracture by bone scan, and among the 23 patients who had negative findings on sternal US, the 19 patients checked with a bone scan also had negative findings. Conclusion: Sternal US can find sternal fractures that are difficult to find on conventional radiography. Compared with bone scan, sternal US takes a shorter time and sternal US is not difficult. Additionally, combined lesions with sternal fractures(peristernal hematoma, soft tissue swelling) and costar cartilage fractures are diagnosed more easily when using sternal US.

      • SD Rats를 이용 1-hexene의 흡입독성 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the acute (4 hours) and repeated-dose (6 hours a day, 5 days a week, 4 weeks) toxic effects of I -hexene on Sprague- Dawley (SD) rats which were treated by inhalation. The results were as follows; I. The median lethal concentration (LC_(50)) was estimated 52,694 ppm (confidence limit 95%; 49,494~55,447 ppm) in acute inhalation. Abnormal clinical signs related to the l-Hexene were not observed with the acute inhalation dose. Gross findings of necropsy revealed on evidence of specific toxicity related to the 1-hexene, II. By repeated inhalation exposure the body weight of male were more or less reduced by the dose of 2,500 ppm and 5,000 ppm compared with control group. However there were no significant variation hematology and blood biochemistry for the exposed rats compared with the control rats. Abnormal clinical signs and gross findings of necropsy related to the 1-hexene were not shown. In conclusion when we exposed I-hexene to SD rats for 4 weeks, 5 days per week, 6 hours per day, the Lowest observed effect level (LOEL) was over 2,500 ppm and Non observed effect level (NOEL) was below 500 ppm.

        It was researched by a written inquiny way about sports injury with 208 professional baseball players of 8 teams from March, 1995 to October 1995 and reached such conclusion as below. 1.About the question of the situation they first got injured since entered the teams, "on practice" was answered by 112 players(53.84%). 2.About the question of the repetition frequency of the injured part, "1-3 times" was answered most by 139 players(66.83%). 3.About the question that have you been participated to play in game or practice with unrecovered injury, "yes" was answered by 180 players(86.53%) 4.About the question of the reasons of injury occurrence, "my carelessness" was answered by 92 players(44.23%). 5.About the question of the warming up time before game or practice, "30 minutes was answered by 87 players(41.83%). 6.About the question of the private warming up time, "5-10 minutes" was answered by 85 players(40.87%). 7.About the question of the way to prevent injury, "strict warming up" and "reinforcement of physical strength" were answered by 82 players each(39.42%). 8.About the question trial after injured did you satisfy the curing of doctor and its period of time, "unsatisfaction" was answered by 145 players(69.71%). 9.About the question of the seasons they got injured, "Spring" was answered by 9 players(33.117%). 10.About the question of the injured gnarl on play on pitchers, "the hips part" was answered most by 68 placers(77.27 %). 11.About the question of the injured part on play of catchers, among 70 cases totally occurred, "the shoulder part" was answered by 12 players(60.00%). 12.Aboul the question of the injured part on play of infielders, among 220 cases totally occurred, "the shoulder part" and "the foot joint part" were answered most by 27 players each(41.54%). 13.About the question of the injured part on play of outfielders, among 137 cases totally occurred, "the head part", "the abdomen part" and "the back part" by 1 each(2.85%). 14.About the question of the joint injury, For pitchers, 161 cases totally occurred, "the sprain" was answered most by 59 players(67.04%), For catchers, 32 cases totally occurred, "the sprain" most by 9 players(45.00%) "the dislocation", and "the changes of hyperplastic joint" by 1 each(5.00%).5(7.69%). 15.About the question of the skin injury in each defence position, For pitchers, 78 cases totally occurred, "the abrasion" was answered by 25 players(28.40%). For catchers, 23 cases, "the abrasion" by 10 players(50.00%). 16.Aboul the question of the muscle and tendon injury, "the muscle contusion" was answered most by the players of each position. For outfielders, 56 cases, "the muscle contusion" by 22 players(62.85%). 17.Aboute the question of the bone injury, For pitchers, 89 cases totally occurred, "the bone contusion was answered by 34 players(38.64%). 18.About the question of the brain injury, For pitchers, 22 cases totally occurred, "the contuslo cerebri" was answered by 11 placers(12.50%). 19.About the question of the nerve injury. For pitchers, 9 cases totally occurred, "the nerve contusion" was answered by 6 players(6.81%).

      • 개 시상하부의 Neuropeptides에 대한 면역조직화학적 연구

        The distribution and localization of somatostatin(SOM), neuropeptide Y(NPY), vasopressin(VP), and oxytocin(OT) were studied with a immunohistochemical technique in the canine hypothalamus. The SOM-immunoreactive perikarya were concentrated in the anterior periventricular and the arcuate nuclei. Immunoreactive terminals were observed in the arcuate, the ventromedial hypothalamic, the suprachismatic nuclei and the external layer of the median emmence. A great number of NPY-immunoreactive cell bodies were found in the arcuate nucleus and NPY fibers were located throughout the hypothalamus with the highest concentration especially in the paraventricular (PVN) and the acuate nuclei. Moderately or densely stained fibers were also observed in the median eminence, the suprachiasmatic. the periventricular, the ventromedial hypothalamic, the dorsomedial hypothalamic and the medial preoptic nuclei, and the stria terminalis. Both VP-and OT-containing perikarya were found mainly in the PVN and supraoptic nucleus(SON). but a few were seen in the perifornical area, the lateral hypothalamus, the dorsal hypothalamic and the periventricular nucleus. The fibers originated from the PVN were projected to the SON via ventral or dorsal area of the fornix.
