        일제하 김명룡의 동래지역 사회운동과 적우사 사건

        본 연구에서는 김명룡이라는 인물을 통해 1920년대 말, 1930년대 초의 동래지역 사회운동을 추적하고, 그러한 활동의 연장선상에서 전개한 비밀결사 적우사의 활동을 살펴보고자 했다. 김명룡은 사회주의의 영향을 받은 청년운동의 후속세대로서, 1928년 동래청년동맹으로 지역 청년운동 조직을 단일화한 이후, 이를 이끌었던 주도세력의 활동을 잘 보여준다. 이들은 신간회 동래지회에서도 주도적인 역할을 하였으며, 신간회가 사실상 해체된 이후에도 동래노동조합을 통해 여전히 동래지역 사회운동을 주도해 나갔다. 그 가운데 김명룡은 수차례의 검속을 당했고, 이후 운동조직을 이끄는 대신 적우사라는 비밀결사를 조직하여 활동한다. 적우사의 주된 활동은 선전 격문을 제작, 배포하는 것이었다. 적우사는 비록 소규모였으나 인근 신간회 부산지회, 부산청년동맹에서 활동하던 인물들이 함께 결성한 조직이었으며, 인근 언양, 울산지역까지 격문을 배포하는 등 활동영역도 좁지 않았다. 이때 그들이 제작한 격문에는 일본 제국주의와 자본주의를 극복해야 한다는 사회주의적 지향과 만주사변에 반대하는 반전주의가 표출되었고, 일본과 중국의 노농자, 농민과의 연대의식 또한 담겨있었다. 다만 김명룡은 적우사 활동으로 검거되어 고초를 겪게 되는데, 그가 체포되어 공판을 받는 과정은 당시 일제에 의한 식민지적 폭력성과 견제 없는 기소권력에 수반한 근대적 사법체계의 폭력성이 함께 작용하고 있었음을 보여준다. 본고는 비록 김명룡의 생애 전반을 다루지 못했으나, 상대적으로 주목되지 않았던 인물을 통해 1930년대 초반 동래지역 사회운동의 한 단면을 조명하고자 했다. 새로운 관점, 사료발굴 등을 통한 지역 연구 활성화에 사회운동에 대한 연구도 계속해서 한 부분을 차지할 필요가 있을 것이다. This study attempted to trace social movements of Dongnae in the late 1920s and early 1930s through a figure named Kim Myung-ryong, and to examine the activities of the secret organization ‘Jeokwoosa’ that unfolded along the lines of such movements. As one of successor generation heavily influenced by socialism, Kim Myung-ryong's action at the time easily reflect the activities of the emerging socialist forces that have led the local movements since the foundation of the Dongnae Youth league in 1928. The league played a leading role in the Dongnae branch of Shinganhoe and even after its disbandment, the league still led social movements through an organization called Dongnae Labor Union in their region. Kim Myung-ryong was prosecuted several times in the process and organized a secret society called ‘Jeokwoosa’ instead of leading Dongnae Labor Union. Primary activity of the group was to produce and distribute propaganda pamphlet. Although ‘Jeokwoosa’ itself was a small organization, it not only cooperated with Busan branch of Shinganhoe and Busan Youth league, also covered as wide as including neighboring areas such as Eonyang and Ulsan. Their pamphlet manifest potent arguments to overcome Japanese imperialism and capitalism and anti-warism regarding the Manchurian Incident. It also contains a sense of solidarity between Japanese and Chinese proletariat. Kim Myung-ryong eventually arrested for the activity of ‘Jeokwoosa’, and the process of his trial shows the very presence of colonial violence under Japanese imperialism and how brutal the modern legal system and prosecution rights can be if uncontained. Although this study could not cover Kim Myung-ryong's entire life, it is an attempt to illuminate an aspect of the social movement in the early 1930s through a new figure. It is hoped that more studies in socialist activities such as this can attribute to local studies as a relevant part.

        다양한 비죽상경화 관상동맥 질환의 CT 영상 소견

        급성 관동맥 증후군(acute coronary syndrome)은 대부분 죽상경화 관상동맥 질환(atherosclerotic coronary artery disease)에 의해 발생하지만, 비죽상경화 관상동맥 질환에서도 발생할 수 있다. 고식적 관상동맥 혈관조영술은 동맥 내강의 협착이나 확장 등의 형상에 대한정보만을 제공하고, 동맥경화반이나 동맥벽에 대한 평가가 어려워 관상동맥 이상의 원인 질환의 진단에 낮은 특이도를 보인다. 반면, 관상동맥 전산화단층촬영 혈관조영술은 혈관경화반의 특징, 혈관벽의 조영증강뿐 아니라 연접한 대동맥이나 폐동맥의 변화 등도 함께 관찰할수 있어, 비죽상경화 관상상동맥질환의 진단 및 다양한 원인 감별에 도움이 된다. 따라서 이종설에서는 다양한 비죽상경화 관상동맥 질환들을 소개하고, 이의 병태생리 및 대표적인 관상동맥 전산화단층촬영 혈관조영술의 영상 소견에 대해 설명하고자 한다.

      • Development of PSD Profile and Standard Test Course for Lab-Based Simulation of Carton Clamp Truck Handling

        Palletless handling by clamp truck is gradually expanding, and the need for simulation of clamp truck handling is increasing. In this study, the composite PSD profiles for a test course proposed by Park et al.(2017) and the test courses of ASTM D6055 and ISTA 3B for a lab-based simulation of clamp truck were developed, and the effects of the payload, the traveling speed, and the tire type on the vibration level of the main body and the attachment of clamp truck were analyzed. A heavy refrigerator package, where clamp trucks are mostly used for, was selected as the target heavyweight corrugated package (HCP). Both the vibration intensity of the main body and the attachment of the clamp truck were affected by payload and traveling speed. However, the difference in vibration level according to the tire type was apparent in the test course with many obstacles. The vibration intensity of a test course proposed by Park et al.(2017) was greater than that of ASTM D6055 and significantly lower than that of ISTA 3B.

        Auto-dump Design of Postharvest Bulk Handling Machinery System for Onions

        Purpose: Postharvest handling of onions (harvesting, cleaning, grading, cooling, storing, and transport) should be performed continually to reduce costs and improve quality. The purpose of this study is to a) determine the design parameters and operating conditions of anion auto-dumping that constitutes a key component of the postharvest bulk handling machinery system, and b) to perform a performance test with the auto-dump prototype system. Methods: Kinematic analyses and computer simulations of the auto-dump mechanism were applied to analyze the operating conditions and design parameters. Results: The optimum working condition for the auto-dump was determined from kinetic analyses. In addition, the interaction between the velocity of the hydraulic cylinder and the angular velocity of the auto-dump were analyzed in order to control the bulk handling machinery system. The acting forces and optimum operating conditions of the hydraulic cylinder were determined by analyzing the forces related to the mass of inertia of the auto-dump assembly during rotation. The method of controlling the feeding rate of onions in terms of the uniformity of the stacking pattern and the control of the entire system was better than the two-stage method of controlling the rotational speed of the auto-dump.         Write Buffer-Oriented Energy Reduction in the L1 Data Cache for Embedded Systems

        <P>In resource-constrained embedded systems, on-chip cache memories play an important role in both performance and energy consumption. In contrast to read operations, scant regard has been paid to optimizing write operations even though the energy consumed by write operations in the data cache constitutes a large portion of the total energy consumption. Consequently, this paper proposes a write buffer-oriented (WO) cache architecture that reduces energy consumption in the L1 data cache. Observing that write operations are very likely to be merged in the write buffer because of their high localities, we construct the proposed WO cache architecture to utilize two schemes. First, the write operations update the write buffer but not the L1 data cache, which is updated later by the write buffer after the write operations are merged. Write merging significantly reduces write accesses to the data cache and, consequently, energy consumption. Second, we further reduce energy consumption in the write buffer by filtering out unnecessary read accesses to the write buffer using a read hit predictor. In this paper, we show that the proposed WO cache architecture is applicable to the conventional embedded processors that support both write-through and write-back policies. Further, the experimental results verify that the proposed cache architecture reduces energy consumption in data caches up to 14%.</P>

      • Diagnosis of Pulmonary Infections in Immunocompromised Patients

        Acute respiratory failure due to pulmonary infection is the leading cause of ICU admission in immunocompromised patients. Bacterial pneumonia accounts for one-third of cases of pulmonary infections in immunocompromised patients, and viruses are the second most common cause of severe respiratory infections. Invasive fungal infections account for 15% of respiratory infections. Although identifying the cause of pulmonary infection is important to improve the prognosis of patients, but etiological diagnosis can be extremely challenging, as the effects of the infection combine with those of the underlying disease. Therefore, a careful and systematic approach is required to identify the cause of infection. In immunocompromised patients with acute respiratory failure, the first step in the etiological evaluation is a clinical assessment based on 1) days since respiratory symptom onset, 2) type of immunodeficiency, 3) radiographic pattern, 4) experience of the assessing clinician, and 5) clinical findings. Considering these factors, we can restrict the number of possible etiologies to two or three. For the etiological diagnosis, both invasive (bronchoscopy, lung biopsy) and non-invasive investigations (next-generation sequencing, transcriptomics, proteomics) could be performed.

        Preface of ASILS4 - Intense laser science special issue

        Intense laser science is one of the pioneering research areas of modern optics. Recently, laser intensity has been drastically increased so that relativistic movement of electrons has been achieved using intense laser pulse. In the future, it would be possible that phenomena of astrophysics can be investigated in laboratory using intense laser field. In order to stimulate collaborations among Asian countries on the intense laser science, Asian Intense Laser Network (AILN) was formed on June 17, 2004 at the University of Tokyo. Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science (ASILS) was started at the same time with AILN kick-off meeting in 2004 and it has provided a great opportunity for Asian scientists to share and learn the latest developments in intense laser science. From the 3rd to 6th of November in 2008, the 4th ASILS was successfully held at Ultrafast Quantum Beam Facility (APRI, GIST) by participant of 123 scientists from 15 countries. Especially, Professor Y. Kato, the founding chair of AILN, from the Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries in Japan, has presented the plenary talks on the “Photon-Frontier-Consortium”. Professor G. Mourou, the director of Laboratoire d'Otique Appliuee in France, and Professor J. J. Rocca from Colorado State University in the USA provided plenary talks for more active collaboration among Asia, Europe, and America. There were also many high prestigious invited talks and constructive discussions between scientists on the intense laser science. In summary, 73 talks were presented in the conference including 3 plenary and 22 invited talks. I very appreciate JOSK editorial board for providing a chance to publish special issue on the 4th ASILS. The ASILS4 special issue reports 15 papers that show various researches on intense laser science from Asian countries. Especially, Professor Y. Kato publishes a very valuable article on “International and Asian Networks on Intense Laser Science” that summarize historical evolution of research network on intense laser science. I am deeply grateful to the all authors of the special issue. I wish this issue would be a cornerstone to activate research on intense laser science in Asian countries and introduce these researches to other people in optics area. I sincerely hope that AILN and ASILS bring enormous progress of researches on intense laser science in Asian countries.
