Objectives : It is known that the five Su points are very useful clinically. The following study was undertaken in order to find out the general characteristic and the origin of the five Su points. Methods: We investigated the relation of symptoms that are treated by five Su points and Shi-Dong Suo-Sheng-Bing(是動 所生病). The main reference book was Zhen Jiu Jia Yi jing(鍼灸甲乙經) and the author took Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) as an example. Results : 1. Five Su point of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) treats Shi-Dong-Bing(是動病) of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum. It is peculiarity of Five Su point of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum, differed from the others acupoints. Symptoms of Shi-Dang-Bing appears with the abnormal pulsation of Merdian Gi(脈氣), and the special feature of Shi-Dang-Bing is the symptoms are consisted of disorders of whole body, trobles of an internal organ, and psychosomatic disorders. 2. In <Su Wen San Bu Jiu Hou Lun (素問 三部九候論)>, it is described the part of pulse feeling for Shi-Dong-Bing(是動病) of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) as ‘A region that is 2 Chon(寸) from the basic digital joint of the first toe’. This region is agree with the acupoint of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum in <Mai-Jing(脈經)>, <Qian-Jin-Yao-Fang(千金要方)>. And Haeng-gan(行間) Tae-chung(太衝), members of five Su-points of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum is situated the same region. So we suppose that the part of pulse feeling for Shi-Dong-Bing of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum is transformed into Haeng-gan(行間) Tae-chung(太衝), among the five Su points.

Comparison of Hanwoo with Holstein of OPU derived Embryo and Offspring Production

The objective of this study was to evaluate the comparison of production efficiency of oocytes and OPU (ovum pick‐up) derived embryos of Hanwoo with Holstein. The OPU session of each species (6 cows) was carried out from the Hanwoo (106 sessions) and Holstein (114 sessions) at intervals of 3 4 days (2 times per week) for 3 months. Cumulus‐oocyte‐complexes (COCs) retrieved were classified into 4 grades by the status of oocyte cytoplasm and cumulus cells. The COCs collected were matured in vitro in TCM‐199 supplemented with 10% FBS, 10 mg/ml FSH and 1 mg/ml estradiol‐ 17β in 5% CO2 and over 99% humidity for 24 h. After 24 h co‐incubation with post‐thaw sperm, the presumed zygotes were cultured in CR1aa medium with 4 mg/ml BSA for 3 days and then changed CR1aa medium with 10% of FBS for another 3 4 days. The Mean number of aspirated follicles and collected oocytes were not significantly different between Hanwoo and Holstein spacies (10.4±0.42 vs. 11.4±0.41 and 7.5±0.38 vs. 6.1±0.37 per session). But the collection rate of oocytes from aspirated follicles were significantly higher in Hanwoo (72.8%) than that in Holstein (53.6%) (p< 0.05). Furthermore, the average number of good quality oocytes (Grade I and II) was 5.9±0.28 and 4.1±0.27 (Mean±SD), and the cleavage rate and the development rate to blastocysts was significantly (p<0.05) higher in Hanwoo (40.0%) than Holstein (21.6%). The OPU derived embryos of Hanwoo were transferred 83 times into 52 recipients and then 42 calves were produced from 44 pregnancy recipients. In conclusion, the efficiency of OPU derived embryo was significantly different between Hanwoo and Holstein species. In vitro culture system for OPU derived embryo production should be optimized for industrialization and the improvement of livestock.

VDT작업별 정신사회적 스트레스와 근골격계 장애에 관한 연구

It has been hypothesized that jobs that have both high psychological demands and low decision latitude("job strain") can lead to musculoskeletal disorder. The objective of this study was to test whether job strain was correlated with the presence of work-related musculoskeletal disorder, especially myofascial pain syndrome(MPS). Information on demographic factors, confounders such as household load and taking care of children or not, and scores for decision latitude, job demand, and social support was obtained by self-administered questionnaire, which had been developed in Korean language, by adopting NIOSH instrument and Extended Karasek Model(16 items). All subjects were also examined by rehabilitation medicine specialists for musculoskeletal disorders. Subjects(n=370) could be categorized into 4 groups, these were, housewives(n=89), shipyard CAD workers(n=89), general female workers(n=79; nurses, insurance counselors, public officials, clerks, etc), and telephone directory assistance operators(n=113). Results from univariate analyses indicated that all demographic factors, all confounders, scores for decision latitude and social support were not associated with the risk of musculoskeletal disorder. However, score for job demand was higher in musculoskeletal disorder cases than others. In subgroup analysis, this association was convinced again, in telephone directory assistance operators. Job strain model showed that the group of telephone directory assistance operators was high-stain group, and OR of musculo skeletal disorder was 2.446(95% C. I. : 1.174, 5.096), when comparing this with the low strain group. In conclusion, job strain is a risk factor for work-related musculoskeletal disorder.

북한 권력승계 담론 연구

이 논문은 북한의 권력승계를 합리화하는 담론인 ‘계속혁명’ 담론과 세대담론의 내용과 그 특징을 분석하고, 오늘날 이 담론들이 북한사회에서 어떻게 나타나고 있는지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 담론은 이데올로기의 언어적인 존재양식으로서, 한 사회의 지배 이데올로기가 그 기능을 수행하는 것을 궁극적으로 담론을 통해서 가능해 지는 것이다. 1971년에 김일성은 청년동맹 6차 대회 연설을 통해 ‘계속혁명’을 성공적으로 이루기 위해서는 청년들이 ‘대를 이어’ 혁명위업을 완수해야 할 것을 강조하였다. ‘계속혁명’ 담론은 대중운동의 모티브로 활용되었다. 계속혁명 담론은 공산주의 사회 건설 때까지 혁명을 끊임없이 계속해 나가야 한다는 것으로, 사상 · 기술 · 문화의 3대혁명 추진의 정당성을 부여하고 있는 것이다. 김정일이 권력후계자로 부상하던 시기에 태어난 세대를 혁명의 3, 4세로 규정하고, “1970년대 주체혁명 위업 계승 시기에 자라난 세대들이 21세기 강성대국 건설”의 주력군이 될 것을 강조하고 있다. 혁명위업 계승에서 어느 세대보다 청년세대가 중요하다고 강조하면서, 청년들의 조직인 청년동맹이 김정일 체제의 전위대가 될 것을 독려한다. 북한의 ‘계속혁명’ 담론, 세대담론과 같은 권력승계 담론은 수령에 대한 절대화를 북한의 원형으로 수용하도록 만들어 수령의 후계자를 자연스럽게 받아들이도록 하는데 기여한다. The objectives of the study are to analyze the contents and characteristics of ‘the continuous revolution’ and ‘generation’ discourses, and to examine how these discourses are manifested in the North Korean society today. As an ideological language mode of being, it is by discourse that a dominant ideology functions as a tool for ruling a society. Kim Il-sung, in his speech at the 6th convention of the Youth League in 1971, had emphasized that the youth should complete the revolutionary accomplishment by generational succession in order to successfully carry out the ‘continuous revolution’ The discourse of ‘continuous revolution’ has been used as a motive for mass movements. Continuous revolution discourse directs the people to push forward with the continuous revolution until the communist society is finally constructed. It legitimizes the three revolutions in thoughts, technology and culture. The generations that were born when Kim Jung-il rose as the successor to Kim Il-sung are defined as third and fourth generation, and have been emphasized that they be the main forces in “the construction of strong and big power of the 21 century.” North Korea emphasizes the importance of the youth generation In succeeding the revolutionary great achievement than any other generations, and encourages the Youth League, the youth organization, to be the vanguard of the Kim Jong-il regime. The ‘continuous revolution’ discourse and the generational discourse contribute to receiving the absoluteness of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il by the people as the prototype of North Korea and to make the people to spontaneously accept the successor to the Great Leader(Suryong).

원위 대퇴골의 고립성 골연골종에서 발생한 속발성 연골 육종 1례 보고

연골육종은 비교적 서서히 자라며 늦게 전이하는 악성 연골 종양으로 알려져 있다. 골 연골종에서 발생한 속발성 연골육종은 발생빈도는 드물며 타부위로의 전이가 적고 악성도가 낮은 경우가 많아 적합한 수술적 치료로서 좋은 예후를 보이는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 본 동국대학교 정형외과학 교실에서는 우측 대퇴골 원위부 골간단부에 생긴 고립성 골 연골종에서 이차적으로 발생한 연골육종을 치험한 바 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Secondary chondrosarcomas arising from a solitary osteocartilaginous exostosis are rare and those have a better prognosis than other chondrosarcomas, and they rarely metastasize. We present our experience with a case of secondary chondrpsarcoma arising in solitary osteochondroma of distal metaphysis of right femur with clinical details.

바이오필터에 의한 VOCs의 제거에 대한 연구

Biofiltration was successfully applied to treat amixture of volatile organic compounds(Benzene, Xylene) from contaminated air stream. Immobilized Ps.oleovorans biofilter was evaluated for its value in simultaneous removal of B.X from waste air stream. The variety of operating conditions were tested to evaluated important factors such as space velocity, PH, water content, ect. In the loading rate(1,000ppmv) and space velocity(l,200hr), the average removal efficiencies of B.X. were 39.3% and 30.5% and CO₂ production rate were 6.72 mg/hr, 4.65mg/hr, respectively. Removal efficiency of B.X. mixture was lower than it's each individual at same loading rate. When the concentrations of B.X. mixture were controlled 300ppmv and 900ppmv at two stages reactor, the average outlet concentration were 7.lppmv, 184.5ppmv and CO₂ production rate were 6.04mg/hr, 12.6mg/hr, respectively.

동공을 침범한 당뇨병성 동안신경 마비

Oculomotor nerve palsy of acute onset with sparing of the pupil in older age is frequently associated with diabetes mellitus. A 73-year-old diabetic woman was admitted because of vertical diplopia and gait disturbance. Neurological examination showed that the left eye had decreased light reflex, dilated pupil, and limited adduction, supraduction and infraduction. Brain MRI and MRA were unremarkable. Two months after onset, movement, pupil size and light reflex of the patient's eyes were normal on examination. It is emphasized that the diabetic ophthalmoplegia can involve the pupil. We report a rare case of diabetic oculomotor nerve palsy with pupil involvement.

항치매성 acetylcholineaterase 함유 검은 비늘버섯 추출물의 PC12 신경세포사 저해 효과

본 연구에서는 부분 정제된 acetylcholinesterase 저해물질을 함유한 검은비늘버섯 추출물의 신경세포 PC12에 대한 세포독성을 조사하고 PC12 신경세포 저해효과를 조사하였다. 검은 비늘버섯 추출물은 세포 생존에 영향을 미치지 않았고 무처리군의 85.6%에 비해 19.3%로 세포사 저해효과가 우수하였다. Dementia disease has been increased because of the significant increase in life expectancy over sixty-five years of age in Korea. This studies were carried out to develop new anti-dementia compounds such as acetylcholinesterase(AChE) inhibitor from edible mushrooms.. AChE inhibitor from water extract of finally selected Pholiota adiposa were partially purified by Sephadex G-50 gel permeation chromatography and RP-HPLC. The partial purified acetylcholinesterase inhibitor-containing Pholiota adiposa extracts showed high cell viability and also showed apoptotic inhibitory effects against PC12 neuron-like cells.
