        The study of game traffic has neglected by scientists, but as Internet gaming becomes more popular, multiplayer online games have become a significant element of Internet traffic. In this paper we analyze Internet traffic generated by sessions of multiplayer online games and study source models of multiplayer online game traffic. Our analysis shows that the empirical game traffic can be characterized by certain analytical model. We describe how our empirical traffic data set can be modeled and discuss how game server type influences interarrival distribution.

        Oculomotor nerve palsy of acute onset with sparing of the pupil in older age is frequently associated with diabetes mellitus. A 73-year-old diabetic woman was admitted because of vertical diplopia and gait disturbance. Neurological examination showed that the left eye had decreased light reflex, dilated pupil, and limited adduction, supraduction and infraduction. Brain MRI and MRA were unremarkable. Two months after onset, movement, pupil size and light reflex of the patient's eyes were normal on examination. It is emphasized that the diabetic ophthalmoplegia can involve the pupil. We report a rare case of diabetic oculomotor nerve palsy with pupil involvement.

        재래종 콩 유전자원의 주요 형태적 특성과 변이

        본 실험은 한국, 중국 및 일본 재래종 콩 유전자 자원의 주요형질 변이를 조사하고 이들 자원간의 지리적 유연관계를 비교하고자 수행하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 경장은 한국(66㎝)이나 일본자원(54.9㎝)보다 중국자원(71㎝)에서 더 컸으며, 또한 변이도 중국자원에서 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 2. 개화일수 및 생육일수는 한국자원(65.5일, 151.4일)이 가장 길었으며 중국(57일, 120일)과 일본자원(59.9일, 122.4일)은 같은 경향을 나타냈다. 또한 한국과 중국자원은 지역에 따른 차이를 나타냈으나 일본자원에서는 확인할 수 없었다. 3. 백립중은 한국(18.8g), 일본(17.2g) 및 중국(14.7g) 순으로 무거웠다. 특히 한국자원은 9~11g과 23~25g에서 정점을 나타냈고, 변이폭도 가장 컸다. 반면 일본과 중국자원은 13~17g사이에서 정점을 나타냈다. 4. 협수는 중국(46.9개)이나 일본자원(36.5개)보다 한국자원(75.5개)에서 가장 많았으며, 변이폭도 한국자원에서 가장 컸다. 내도복성은 일본자원에서 가장 강하였다. 5. 정준판별분석결과 can 1을 경계로 하여 오른쪽 상하에 한국재래종이 주로 분포하였고 왼쪽에는 중국과 일본 재래종이 주로 분포하여 각 나라별로 고유한 영역을 가지고 분리되었다. 전체적 경향이 중국과 일본자원이 한국자원보다 가까운 경향을 나타냈다. This experiment was carried out to compare the characters of 944 Korean soybean landraces, 716 Chinese, and 170 Japanese soybean landraces introduced from USDA soybean germplasm collection. Cannonical discriminant and cluster analyses were conducted by their origins. The population from China was taller in plant height than those from Korea and Japan, also its variation was largest in Chinese population. The population from Korea was langer than those from China and Japan in terms of days to flowering and maturity. Also, Korean and Chinese accessions appeared the difference of those traits according to latitude. One hundred seeds weight was in the order of Korean(18.8g), Japanese(17.2g) and Chinese populations(14.7g), especially Korean population was distinguished into two groups; the group including accessions between 10 and 15g, and the other group including accessions between 20 and 25g. However, others showed the peak in range of 13~17g. The number of pod per plant was more in Korean accession(75.5) with the largest variation than Chinese(46.9) and Japanese accession(36.5). The distribution of Korean, Chinese and Japanese accessions reflected the origin of accessions analyzed by cannonical discriminant analysis. The relationship between their geographical origins showed the population of China and Japan are losely related.

      • 척수를 손상시킨 후 꼬리정맥에 주입한 사람탯줄혈액세포가 뇌줄기에 미치는 영향

        Background and Objectives: Stem cells are a valuable resource for treatment of many disease, but limited access to stem cells in some organs such as brain restricts their utility. Many approaches have been attempted to restore the function following brain stem injury (BSI) and spinal cord injury (SCI). The use of the human umbilical cord blood cells (hUCB) - a rich source of nonembryonic or adult stem cells - has recently been reported to ameliorate the behavioral consequences of stroke. Mateiials and Methods: Forty rats were divided into 8 groups: (1) SCI l+hUCB (infused 1 day post injury); (2) SCI 2+hUCB (infused 2 days post injury); (3) SCI 3+hUCB (infused 3 days post injury); (4) SCI 4+hUCB (infused 4 days post injury); (5) SCI 5+hUCB (mfusedt 5 days post injury); (6) SCI 6+hUCB (infused 6 days post injury); (7) LO+hUCB (laminectomy+hUCB); and (8) LO (laminectomy only). SCI was produced by compressing the spinal cord for one minute with an aneurysm clip calibrated to a closing pressure of 50 g. We report here that immunhistotochemical identification of fluorescent hUCB positive cells in the brain stem after compressed spinal cord injury using mouse anti-human mitochondria monoclonal antibody (MAB1273). Results: All SCI+hUCB (1-8) groups contained fluorescent hUCB positive cells in the all area of the brain stem. But especially a large number of fluorescent hUCB positive cells were observed in the whole area of the brain stem of the experimental 5 (SCI 5+hUCB) and 6 (SCI 6+hUCB)groups. No hUCB positive cells were found in the brain stem of group with non-injured spinal cord of these animals and group with laminectomy only. Conclusion: These results suggest that hUCB are potentially useful as a vector for treating a variety of the central nervous system disorders, and we are sure that continuous of stem cell study will give an best opportunity to treat the uncurable disorders in the future.

        치성감염에 의해 발생된 후측인두부 및 종격동 농양

        Odontogenic infections are usually locally confined, self-limiting processes. However, under certain circumstances, they may break through the bony, muscular, and mucosal barriers and spread into contiguous fascial spaces or planes far from the initial site of involvement, resulting in severn life-threatening complications, such as retropharyngeal spread, suppurative mediastinal extension, airway obstruction, pleuropulmonary suppuration, and hematogenous dissemination to distant organs. The mortality arte for mediastinitis from odontogenic infection ranges from 40% to 60%. Therefore rapid evalution and treatment is essential with a combination of life support, antibiotic therapy, and surgical intervention. Recently, we experienced three cases of retropharyngeal and mediastinal abscesses secondary to odonogenic infections. In all patients, early diagnosis was possible by CT scanning and physical examination. The prognosis was good in all patients by using urgent aggressive surgical and antibiotic therapy.

      • 독성물질의 세포사 기전 및 세포사 유발물질의 검색법 개발에 관한 연구(Ⅰ) : 독성물질로 인한 파킨슨병 모델에서의 세포사 기전 연구 Study on the cell-death mechanisms of toxin-induced parkinsonism

        MPTP 독성물질이 도파민성 신경세포에 선택적으로 작용하여 산화성 손상에 의한 신경세포사를 일으키는 것을 이용하여 파킨슨병의 동물모델을 만들고, 이를 통해서 아폼토시스를 비롯한 포사의 기전에 대한 연구 및 너코틴의 신경세포 보호효과 여부를 판정하는 실험을 병행하고자 하였다. 파킨슨꾐의 동물모델을 MPTf 독성 물질을 이용하여 확립하였으며, MPTP(30mgag, i.p.)를 투여한 후 1, 2,3, 4, 5일째 흑질 조직을 채춰하여 tarm로 박걸하여 tyrosine hydroxylase 면역조직화학염색을 수행하여 cell countif우한 결과, control은 57.635ce11s, 1일째 친.OfDells,2일째 57.9±6cells,3일릴 없.3±죠ells, 4일째 49.0츠3cells, 5일째 39.4±Scells료 4, 3일째 뚜렷한 신경세포 수의 감소를 보였다. 신경세포사 기전 규명을 위한 아폼토시스 분걱에서는 벼PTP 투여 후 1, 2, 3, 4, 5일째 조직을 채취하여 Hoechst staining, TUNEL staining을 수곡하였는데 양성 반응을 보인 신경세포는 관찰되지 않아. 아폼토시스로 인한 세포사가 관찰되지 않았다. bIPTP 파킨슨병 동물모델에서 nicotine 보호효과 탐색에 관한 실험은 nicat푸e 0.2mgAg을 5일 퐁안 투여 후 리『fP(30mgag)를 CS7Bt/6 마은스에 복강 내주사로 nicotine과 병용 투여한 후 1, 2, 3, 4, 5일째 뇌를 적출하땄다. 신경세포사가 뚜렷이 관찰되기 시작하는 4, 5일째의 신경세포 수의 감소 정도를 20. 30% 정도 약화시키는 경향을 보였으나, nicotine 보호효과에 대한 추가 실헝이 현재 수행 중에 있다. The cause of Parkinson's disease (PD) is largely unknown. However, free radical toxicit? may plaf a role ip. the degeneration of substantia nigra, which is the Hajorfocus of pathological damages in PD. Recently, a neuroprotective effect of nicotine in PD has been suggested. Therefore, the mechanism of neurodegenerafion and protective potential o( nicotine in PD were investigated in the experimental modeB of Pll using a neurotoxin, C57BL/6mice were administered with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP, 30 mg/kg,j.p.). The degree of neurodegenerafion was determined by immunohistochemical stainiHB oftyrosine hydroxylase (TH). TH-positive cells on nigral sections were found 56.0 ±4, 57.9 ±6,52.315ce11s, 49.0±3cells, and 39,4±Scells at days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, respectively (controls : 57.6±Scells). Hoechst and TUNEL staining showed no evidence of apoptosis. The exandnation on themice co-adrunistered with nicotine(0.2mgAg) and MPTP(30mgag) revealed a tendency ofnicotine protective effects. At days 4 and 5, the degree of TH-positive cells was decreased by20-30%, In corclusiffn, the role of apoptosis was not evidenced in this MPTP modeB of PB.The possible proteccon by nicotine should be elucidated with further studies.

      • 각망어구의 구조개량을 위한 기초적 연구

        In order to increase fishing efficiencies of the fyke net used in the coast of Cheju Island water tank experiment was caried out entering and escaping behavior using nets that were reduced to 1/20 of the size of fyke net and were improved to have antrance structure, and Mackerel Scomber japonicus as experimental fish. The results of measurement are as follows: 1. Fish school behavior in the main net was showed two different patterns: swimming in a circle in the right space of the main net and swimming back and forth in ellipse in the right and left space. 2. The swimming speed of mackerel school was 24.9. 12.6 and 32.0cm/sec in the center space. right space of main net and in the mouth. 3. The entering rate of fish school was 40% in net with 35cm length of the upper and funnel net in the mouth of fyke model net and 49% in conventional type fyke model net. 4. The escaping rate of fish school was 10% in net with 35cm length of the upper and funnel net in the mouth of fyke model net and 69% in conventional type fyke model net. 5. The remain rate of fish school was 90% in net with 35cm length of the upper and funnel net in the mouth of fyke model net and 31% in conventional type fyke model net.

      • Vinblastine이 백서 배양 Type-1 별아교세포에 미치는 세포독성에 관한 연구

        It has been reported that vinblastine, anticancer drug, is a neuroteratogen inducing various neural malformations such as microcephaly and neural tube defect(NTD), but the study on the toxicity of neuroglial cells, especially type-1 astrocytes using culture system is not well established. In order to evaluate the cytotoxicity of vinblastine on cultured type-1 astrocytes of neonatal rat brain in vitro. MTT assay and also light and electron microscopic studies were carried out. The results were as follows: 1. MTT_90 and MTT_50 in cultured type-1 astrocytes were 1×10 exp (-1) μM and 1×10 exp (2)μM of vinblastine, respectively. 2. Vinblastine was highly toxic in cultured type-1 astrocytes(MTT_50 ≤ 100 μM). 3. In a light microscopy, cultured type-1 astrocytes showed decrease of cells in number, cytoplasmic perforation, vacuolization and cytoplasmic granulation after cultured type-1 astrocytes were treated with 1×10 exp (2)μM of vinblastine for 24 hours. Cultured type-1 astrocytes damaged by vinblastine showed degenerative changes of cells morphologically. 4. In an electron microscopy, increment of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP), increased free-ribosomes, cisternal dilatation of rough endoplasmic reticulum (rER). few dense bodies and vacuoles were shown in cultured type-1 astrocytes treated with 1×10 exp (2)μM of vinblastine for 24 hours. The results indicate that vinblastine has markedly cytotoxic effect on the type-1 astrocytes of neonatal rat brain in vitro study.

      • 한국인 태아 및 사산아에서 얼굴신경에 대한 형태학적 연구

        It is critical that the accurate anatomy of the facial nerve IS known for uncomplicated successful facial surgery. Such an operation is hazardous because of the intimate relationship between the facial nerve and the expressional muscles. It is hoped that such basic information will be helpful to those who treat conditions involving the facial region. In order to define the detail of this relationship, many studies have been undertaken on dissected adult specimens. This study was based on Korean fetus and stillborn infant cadaveric dissections, and describes anatomical variations of the peripheral branches of the facial nerve that pose a potential danger in a number of surgical procedure on the face. The branching patterns were classified into six types: the frequencies of occurrence were: type I, 4.9%; type II, 24.4%; type III, 34.1%; type IV, 19.5%; type V, 12.2%; and type VI, 4.9%. Types II, III and IV together accounted for almost 80% of the specimens. In the discussion we compare the results of the present study with those of others and try to clarify the anatomical characteristics of the facial nerve in infants, which demand that special attention be paid to the avoidance of injuries during facial surgery.
