        미역부산물의 첨가가 홀스타인 비유우의 비유성적과 내분비생리에 미치는 영향

        본 시험은 미역분말의 첨가가 홀스타인 젖소의 유생산과 내분비계에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 실시하였다. 기초사료에 미역분말을 1일 두당 800g 수준으로 급여하여 대조구와 비교하였다. 사료건물섭취량은 처리에 의한 영향을 받지 않았고 비유말기 산유량은 대조구에 비해 일일 6.25kg 이나 많게 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). 하지만 유성분은 처리구간에 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 대조구의 체세포수는 유동적이었지만 처리구의 체세포수는 시험 종료 시 $10^5$개/ml로 시험개시에 비해 무려 53.77%의 감소효과를 보여 탁월한 체세포 감소효과를 나타내었다. 미역분말의 첨가가 혈중 면역글로부린의 함량에는 영향을 주지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 비유에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 IGF-1의 혈장농도는 미역처리구에서 유의성 있게 증가하였으며 비유와 직접적인 관련이 있는 또 다른 호르몬인 $T_3$ 와 $T_4$의 농도도 유의적으로 증가하는 양상을 나타내었다. 지질대사산물인 TC, HDL-C와 LDL-C의 농도는 모두 처리구에서 증가하는 양상을 나타냈다. 이와 같이 미역부산물의 사료 중 첨가는 유생산량의 증가를 보였는데 이는 혈중 비유관련 호르몬의 분비에 영향을 준 결과로 확인된 바 젖소사료자원으로서의 응용가치가 클 것으로 사료된다. This study was conducted to investigate effects of the brown seaweed waste(BSW) supplementation on milk production and related endocrine response in serum in Holstein dairy cows. A total of 14 Holstein dairy cows(initial mean live weight 625kg, average lactation days 225, Reproduction 2.4) were randomly allocated into control(basal diet) and treatment groups (4% BSW/basal diet) with 7 replications for 90 days. Dry matter intake was not affected by brown seaweed waste supplementation, but daily milk yield(kg) at the last experiment significantly increased (6.25kg) in treatment group compared with control group(p<0.05) at the last experiment. The plasma insulin-like growth factor(IGF)-1, triiodothyronine($T_3$) and thyroxine($T_4$) levels were significantly increased in treatment group compared with control group(p<0.05), although the concentration of plasma growth hormone(GH) was not significantly different. Milk composition was not significantly different between groups. The somatic cell count(SCC) in milk were significantly reduced in treatment group compared with control group(p<0.05), but antibodies(total IgG, G1, G2) were not significantly different between groups. Therefore we strongly believe that the increased milk yield is related to metabolic hormones as IGF-1, $T_3$ and $T_4$ and the mechanism of reducing SCC in milk must do more study related nonspecific immunsystem in the future.

        톱밥 발효사료 급여 및 분말어유의 첨가사료가 돈육의 이화학적 성질에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the influence of pork quality pigs which were fed with diets supplemented with fermented sawdust and sardin powder oil. The pigs were randomly assigned to one of the four treatments: a), control (commercial feed); b), T1 (30% fermented sawdust); c), T2 (10% sardin powder oil) d), T3 (30% fermented sawdust, l0% sardin powder oil and 30% limited amino acid) from 30 kg to 110 kg B. Wt. and slaughtered. The samples were stored at 0±1 C. The physico-chemical properties were determined at the dust of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 15. For the loin the pH's of all the treatments on the 15th day were higher than those of the 2nd day, and that of TI was higher than those of the others. The total moisture contents of all treatments decreased with the storage (P$lt;0.05), and there were no significant differences among treatments on the 15th day. The water soluble proteins of all treatments increased with time and were highest on the 8th day and decreased gianibicanth thereater. T1 had significantly higher water soluble protein than others(P$lt;0.05). The salt soluble proteins of all treatments increased with lure the days(P$lt;0.05). T1 had higher salt soluble protein than others during the storage period(P$lt;0.05). The brittleness, hardness, cohesiveness, gumminess and chewiness of all the treatments were not significantly different among during the period, but elasticity of them increased after from the 2nd day. The brittleness of control was higher than that of the others on the 15th day, and the hardness and chewiness of control were higher than those of the others on the 6th day(P$lt;0.05). Forthebelly the pH's of all the treatments on the 15th day were higher than those of the at 2nd day(P$lt;0.05). T1 showed higher pH than the others during the period(P$lt;0.05). The total moisture contents of control and T1 were significantly decreased with time and there were no significant differences between T2 and T3. T1 showed the highest value. The water soluble proteins of all the treatments decreased with time and was lower on the 15th day(P$lt;0.05). That of control and T1 was significantly higher than that of others on the 2nd day, but there were no significant differences among the treatments on the 15th day. The salt soluble proteins of all treatments increased with time (P$lt;0.05), and they were highest on the 15th day. T1 had significantly higher salt soluble protein than the others on the 8th and 15th days.

      • A phase II study of irinotecan plus cisplatin for patients with advanced stage IIIB or IV NSCLC previously treated with nonplatinum-based chemotherapy

        <B>BACKGROUND.</B><P>Irinotecan (I) and cisplatin (P) are active chemotherapy agents with clinical synergy in non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We evaluated the efficacy of IP regimen as a salvage treatment of patients with NSCLC that progressed after nonplatinum-containing regimen(s).</P><B>METHODS.</B><P>Eligibility required histologically confirmed NSCLC, bidimensionally measurable disease, ECOG PS 0-2, and progressive disease after nonplatinum-based chemotherapy. Treatment consisted of I (65 mg/m<SUP>2</SUP>) and P (30 mg/m<SUP>2</SUP>) i.v. on Days 1 and 8 of a 21-day cycle, for a maximum of 6 cycles. An informed consent was obtained from all patients.</P><B>RESULTS.</B><P>Between August 2002 and May 2004, 32 patients with median age of 56 years (range, 42–74) were enrolled. Twenty-four (75%) patients were men, and 28 (88%) had ECOG PS 0 or 1. Twenty-five patients had adenocarcinoma and 6 had squamous-cell carcinoma. All patients were evaluated for response and toxicity, and the response rate was 40.6%. After a median follow-up of 18.5 months, the median survival time was found to be 9.3 months, with a 1-year survival rate of 43.8%. Toxicities were moderate and manageable, with 47% G3 and 9% G4 neutropenia, 19% G3 diarrhea, and 22% G3 asthenia. There was no G4 nonhematologic toxicity.</P><B>CONCLUSIONS.</B><P>The irinotecan and cisplatin combination is an active and well-tolerated regimen for the patients with advanced NSCLC that progressed after nonplatinum-containing regimen(s).         Milk Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) Profile and Metabolic Responses of Dairy Cows Fed with High-temperature-micro-time (HTMT) Treated Diets Containing High Quantity Extruded Soybean (ESB)

        A feeding trial was conducted to examine the effect of high-temperature-micro-time (HTMT) processing of diets containing extruded soybean (ESB) in high quantity on milk fat production, metabolic responses, and the formation of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and trans-vaccenic acid (TVA). Twenty-one multiparous Holstein cows in mid-lactation were blocked according to milk yield in the previous lactation. Cows within each block were randomly assigned to either normal concentrate or HTMT treated diets containing ESB (7.5% HTMT-ESB and 15% HTMT-ESB). It was hypothesized that the HTMT-ESB would affect the undegradable fatty acids in the rumen and, thus, would modify the fatty acid profile of milk fat. Both 7.5% and 15% HTMT-ESB did not affect milk yield, fat, protein, lactose and solid-not-fat (SNF), but the proportion of cis-9, trans-11 CLA in milk fat was significantly increased by these treatments. Content of TVA in milk fat was not affected by HTMT-ESB. The HTMT-ESB influenced the fatty acid profile in milk fat, but there was little difference between 7.5% and 15% of supplementation. HTMT-ESB feeding significantly decreased the concentration of plasma insulin and glucose, while plasma growth hormone (GH), triglyceride (TG), non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA) and HDLcholesterol were increased by 7.5% and 15% ESB-HTMT supplementation in comparison to the control group (p<0.05). However, no significant difference was observed in plasma LDL-cholesterol, insulin like growth factor (IGF)-1, T3, T4, and leptin concentrations among treatments (p>0.05). The present results showed that cis-9, trans-11 CLA production was increased by HTMT treatment of dietary ESB without reduction of milk fat, and the unchanged milk fat and yield was assumed to be associated with the constant level of thyroid hormones, leptin, and IGF-1.

        Manufacturing progress on the first sector and lower ports for ITER vacuum vessel

        Manufacturing design of Korean sectors and ports for the ITER Vacuum Vessel (VV) has been developed to comply with the tight tolerance and severe inspection requirements. The first VV sector and lower ports are being fabricated slowly under strict regulations after verification using several real scale mock-ups and qualifications for welding, forming and NDE. During three years after start of fabrication, manufacturing progress on four poloidal segments of the first sector is that (1) all inner shells were welded, (2) forgings for complicate components have been machined, (3) port stubs and poloidal T-ribs were assembled, and (4) machined components are welded on the inner shells by narrow-gap TIG welding and electron beam welding. The progress of lower ports is that (1) inner shells of stub extensions were bent and treated with heat, (2) T-ribs were fabricated and examined by qualified phased array UT, (3) supporting pads and gussets have been machined, and (4) inner shells are assembled with T-ribs and machined forgings. The progress rate of manufacturing is around 40% up to the end of 2015 for the first sector and lower port stub extensions.

      • Highly porous coral-like silicon particles synthesized by an ultra-simple thermal-reduction method

        <P>Porous Si is considered a potential anode material for next-generation Li-ion batteries (LIBs) because of its high specific capacity, low lithiation/delithiation potential, low cost, and environmental friendliness. In this work, we introduce a simplified Mg-thermal-reduction method for the production of mass-scalable coral-like bulk-Si powder with a high surface area (38 m<SUP>2</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>), broad pore-size distribution (2-200 nm), and 3-dimensionally (3D) interconnected Si structure for application in LIBs. The porous, coral-like Si electrode delivered a high reversible capacity of 2451 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP>, corresponding to ∼70% of the theoretical capacity of Si, at a rate of C/10. After 100 cycles, the porous, coral-like Si electrode maintained a capacity of 1956 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP>, corresponding to 79.8% of the initial reversible capacity. Importantly, a reasonably high reversible capacity of 614 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> was achieved even at a high rate of 10C. These outstanding results demonstrate that the 3D-networked, porous, coral-like Si powder, synthesized <I>via</I> a NaCl-assisted Mg-thermal-reduction process on a stainless-steel plate over a period of one minute, can be employed as a promising anode material for the next generation of high-energy LIBs.</P>

      • Mass-scalable synthesis of 3D porous germanium–carbon composite particles as an ultra-high rate anode for lithium ion batteries

        <P>Electrode materials with three-dimensional (3D) mesoporous structures possess superior features, such as a shortened solid-phase lithium diffusion distance, a large pore volume, full lithium ion accessibility, and a high specific area, which can facilitate fast lithium ion transport and electron transfer between solid/electrolyte interfaces. In this work, we introduce a facile synthesis route for the preparation of a 3D nanoarchitecture of Ge coated with carbon (3D-Ge/C) <I>via</I> a carbothermal reduction method in an inert atmosphere. 3D-Ge/C showed excellent cyclability: almost 86.8% capacity retention, corresponding to a charge capacity of 1216 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> even after 1000 cycles at a 2C-rate. Surprisingly, the high average reversible capacity of 1122 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> was maintained at a high charge rate of 100C (160 A g<SUP>−1</SUP>). Even at an ultrahigh charge rate of 400C (640 A g<SUP>−1</SUP>), an average capacity of 429 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> was attained. Further, the full cell composed of a 3D-Ge/C anode and an LiCoO<SUB>2</SUB> cathode exhibited excellent rate capability and cyclability with 94.7% capacity retention over 50 cycles. 3D-Ge/C, which offers a high energy density like batteries as well as a high power density like supercapacitors, is expected to be used in a wide range of electrochemical devices.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>A novel, facile synthetic route has been proposed to prepare a 3D nanoarchitecture of Ge coated with carbon (3D-Ge/C) <I>via</I> carbothermal reduction. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c5ee02183a'> </P>

        The stabilizer system compensates the tracking system for the vertical, horizontal and directional deviations between the tracking system and reference frame. This stabilizer system can be applied to a satellite antenna on ships, a sun tracking system on moving vehicles, and a camera servo control loop to take a stable image against the vibration. In this paper, a stabilizer system using an active stabilization method is composed. An adaptive fuzzy controller is also suggested, which is applicable to systems with structural and parameter uncertainty. It is the 2nd/1st-type adaptive fuzzy control algorithm using advantages of 1st-type and 2nd-type adaptive fuzzy algorithm. Several simulations are executed for verifying the performance of the suggested method. Through experiments using a composed stabilizer system, tracking performances are evaluated.
