An improved hydraulic valve and its trajectory control of valve spool based on fractional order PI controller

Jiangbo Zhao,Weican Jing,Jun-Zheng Wang 대한기계학회 2018 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.32 No.6

When the regular 4/3-way valve, which has two load orifices connected rigidly with each other, is working, there will be some throttle loss caused by these two orifices. In order to reduce the energy loss, a 4/3-way valve with improved structure and its trajectory control of valve spool with a novel tuning method for fractional order PI controller are proposed. Compared with the regular 4/3-way valve, the structure of the valve spool has great improvement. Meanwhile, because of the structural changes, the working mode of the improved valve will be significantly different from the conventional mode. Depending on the load condition, the working mode of the hydraulic valve needs to be changed timely by adjusting the position of the valve spool. Otherwise, the hydraulic valve will work in the wrong mode and the energy efficiency will not be achieved. Therefore, this paper has made some further study for the position control strategy of valve spool. It is required that the spool has rapid stet-point response and high tracking accuracy. The fractional order proportionalintegral (FOPI) controller is adopted aiming to reject the uncertainty disturbance coming from the fluid flow and friction. For the recommended controller, a parameter tuning method is proposed to calculate the parameters directly so as to satisfy the frequency domain performance. The simulation and experiment results show the control effect of the tuning methods.

Investigation into the Effectiveness of Ultrasonic Tomography for Grouting Quality Evaluation

        Jiangbo Lu,Shenghua Tang,Xiaodong Dai,Zhi Fang 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.12

This study is aimed to determine the influence of the parameters relevant for the application of ultrasonic tomography in the field of grouting quality evaluation. The parameters tested were the wave velocity difference between concrete and grout (VDCG), the type of material used for a pipe, and the type of pre-stressed tendon within the pipe. Fourteen cube specimens were constructed, and a theoretical model was used to analyse the effects of these parameters. The results show that these parameters affect each other on the detection effectiveness of ultrasonic tomography, and that VDCG affects it most. It was found that ultrasonic tomography is suitable for the evaluation of grouting quality in post-tensioned structures when VDCG is small and the type of tendon used is a steel bar.

      • PatchMatch Filter: Edge-Aware Filtering Meets Randomized Search for Visual Correspondence

        Lu, Jiangbo,Li, Yu,Yang, Hongsheng,Min, Dongbo,Eng, Weiyong,Do, Minh N. IEEE 2017 IEEE transactions on pattern analysis and machine Vol.39 No.9

Though many tasks in computer vision can be formulated elegantly as pixel-labeling problems, a typical challenge discouraging such a discrete formulation is often due to computational efficiency. Recent studies on fast cost volume filtering based on efficient edge-aware filters provide a fast alternative to solve discrete labeling problems, with the complexity independent of the support window size. However, these methods still have to step through the entire cost volume exhaustively, which makes the solution speed scale linearly with the label space size. When the label space is huge or even infinite, which is often the case for (subpixel-accurate) stereo and optical flow estimation, their computational complexity becomes quickly unacceptable. Developed to search approximate nearest neighbors rapidly, the PatchMatch method can significantly reduce the complexity dependency on the search space size. But, its pixel-wise randomized search and fragmented data access within the 3D cost volume seriously hinder the application of efficient cost slice filtering. This paper presents a generic and fast computational framework for general multi-labeling problems called PatchMatch Filter (PMF). We explore effective and efficient strategies to weave together these two fundamental techniques developed in isolation, i.e., PatchMatch-based randomized search and efficient edge-aware image filtering. By decompositing an image into compact superpixels, we also propose superpixel-based novel search strategies that generalize and improve the original PatchMatch method. Further motivated to improve the regularization strength, we propose a simple yet effective cross-scale consistency constraint, which handles labeling estimation for large low-textured regions more reliably than a single-scale PMF algorithm. Focusing on dense correspondence field estimation in this paper, we demonstrate PMF's applications in stereo and optical flow. Our PMF methods achieve top-tier correspondence accuracy but run much faster than other related competing methods, often giving over 10-100 times speedup.

      • The Monocot-Specific Receptor-like Kinase SDS2 Controls Cell Death and Immunity in Rice

        Fan, Jiangbo,Bai, Pengfei,Ning, Yuese,Wang, Jiyang,Shi, Xuetao,Xiong, Yehui,Zhang, Kai,He, Feng,Zhang, Chongyang,Wang, Ruyi,Meng, Xiangzong,Zhou, Jinggeng,Wang, Mo,Shirsekar, Gautam,Park, Chan Ho,Bell Elsevier 2018 Cell host & microbe Vol.23 No.4

Summary

Programmed cell death (PCD) plays critical roles in plant immunity but must be regulated to prevent excessive damage. The E3 ubiquitin ligase SPL11 negatively regulates PCD and immunity in plants. We show that SPL11 cell-death suppressor 2 (SDS2), an S-domain receptor-like kinase, positively regulates PCD and immunity in rice by engaging and regulating SPL11 and related kinases controlling defense responses. An sds2 mutant shows reduced immune responses and enhanced susceptibility to the blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. Conversely, SDS2 over-expression induces constitutive PCD accompanied by elevated immune responses and enhanced resistance to M. oryzae. SDS2 interacts with and phosphorylates SPL11, which in turn ubiquitinates SDS2, leading to its degradation. In addition, SDS2 interacts with related receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases, OsRLCK118/176, that positively regulate immunity by phosphorylating the NADPH oxidase OsRbohB to stimulate ROS production. Thus, a plasma membrane-resident protein complex consisting of SDS2, SPL11, and OsRLCK118/176 controls PCD and immunity in rice.

Highlights

The RLK SDS2 positively regulates plant cell death and immunity in rice

SDS2 phosphorylates E3 ligase SPL11, which in turn ubiquitinates SDS2 for degradation

SDS2 phosphorylates receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases RLCK118

RLCK118 interacts with and phosphorylates the NADPH oxidase OsRbohB

Graphical Abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

      • Study on Anisotropic Characteristics of Dynamic Deformation Parameters of Phyllite

        ( Yilun Cui ),( Jiangbo Xu ) 대한지질공학회 2019 대한지질공학회 학술발표회논문집 Vol.2019 No.2

The acoustic wave test was carried out by selecting the joints of the joint surface and the horizontal plane at 0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, and 90° phyllite samples. According to the corresponding waveform diagram, the starting point is selected, and the dynamic deformation parameters of thousands of rock samples under various angles are calculated. The results show that: (1) The anisotropy characteristics of the dynamic deformation parameters are obvious, and the influence of the variation of the joint surface inclination on the dynamic deformation parameters is achieved by affecting the wave impedance. (2) P-wave impedance and S-wave impedance have different effects on rock dynamic deformation parameters. Generally, P-wave and S-wave impedance should be considered comprehensively for the dynamic deformation parameters of rock samples. (3) Acoustic waves are in the elastic deformation law of the rock sample caused by the propagation in the rock sample is similar to the elastic deformation law caused by the external load acting on the rock sample.

        Xu Jianqiang,Xu Jiangbo,Yang Xiaohua,Yan Zhaobai,Li Haiping,Wang Huoming,Tan Ling,Fei Dongyang,Li Jianguo,Luo Yongzhen 한국강구조학회 2022 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.22 No.2

The application of fl exible retaining walls in foundation pit engineering is gradually increasing. At present, many practical engineering problems need to be solved. This article takes a corrugated steel retaining wall with tensile reinforcement, for example, assuming that it is an elastic foundation beam model. A typical vertical thin layer unit is taken on the retaining wall for analysis. It uses the waveform integration method to calculate the moment of inertia, deriving the diff erential equation of fl exural deformation of corrugated steel retaining wall and establishing the theoretical formula for deformation of corrugated steel retaining wall under fi lling pressure behind the wall. Finally, a FLAC3D model was established to simulate the deformation of corrugated steel retaining walls in practical engineering, and the fi nal numerical simulation results were consistent with the theoretical formula. Thus, providing a theoretical basis for the deformation of such fl exible retaining structures.

Improved Performances of AlN/Polyimide Hybrid Film and its Application in Redistribution Layer

        Zhe Liu,Guifu Ding,Jiangbo Luo,Wen Lu,Xiaolin Zhao,Ping Cheng,Yanlei Wang 대한금속·재료학회 2016 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.12 No.5

The AlN/polyimide (PI) hybrid film was studied as thedielectric layer in the redistribution layer (RDL) in this work. The incorporation of the AlN into the PI matrix was achievedby mechanical ball-milling process. The spin-coating processwas used to fabricate the AlN/PI hybrid film, which iscompatible with micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS)technology for fabricating RDL. The AlN/PI hybrid film wascharacterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrumand thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The effect of the AlNcontent on the thermal stability, thermal expansion coefficient, hardness and water adsorption of the AlN/PI hybrid film wasstudied. The results indicated that the addition of AlN nanoparticlesimproved the thermal stability and hardness, butdecreased the thermal expansion coefficient and waterabsorption of the pure PI film. As an example of its typicalapplication, the AlN/PI hybrid film with 8 wt.% AlN waspatterned using micromachining technology and used as thedielectric layer in RDL successfully.

Plasma grafting montmorillonite/iron oxide composite with β-cyclodextrin and its application for high-efficient decontamination of U(VI)

Jiang Xiao,Yuantao Chen,Jiangbo Xu 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.5

b-Cyclodextrin (CD) was grafted onto montmorillonite/iron oxides to prepare a novel magnetic CD/MMT/iron oxide composite by low-temperature plasma technology, and applied to remove U(VI) from aqueous solutions. The sorption irreversibility was attributed to inner-sphere binding of U(VI) on CD/MMT/iron oxide surface sites. The thermodynamic parameters indicated that the sorption of U(VI) on CD/MMT/iron oxide was an endothermic and spontaneous process. The maximum sorption capacity of U(VI) on CD/MMT/iron oxide was considerably higher than that of U(VI) on other reported materials. The CD/MMT/iron oxide can be potentially used as a cost-effective material for the purification of actual U(VI)-bearing effluents.
