        The influences on water quality of each river by effluents from environmental facilities located in 14 unit watersheds of North- and South-Han River, and Gyungan-cheon were analyzed. Also, the water quality modeling for study area was carried out to analyze the improvement effect of water quality by the strengthening of T-P effluent standard of environmental facilities. For the calibration and verification of model, water quality data and effluent loading calculated for 2006 were used. Data of low water period were used for calibration, and normal water period for verification. The results of calibration and verification were well matched with the real water quality dataset of revers. Also, the validity of the results were estimated using RI(Reliability Index) method. When the T-P effluent standards for environmental facilities were strengthened, T-P concentrations were predicted to improve from 0.025㎎/ℓ to 0.023㎎/ℓ in the outlet location of North-Han River, from 0.056㎎/ℓ to 0.040㎎/ℓ for South-Han River, and from 0.233㎎/ℓ to 0.146㎎/ℓ for Gyungan-cheon. Also, the T-P concentrations of tributaries including Jojong-cheon, Dal-cheong, Sumgang, Chungmi-cheon, Bokha-cheon, Heuk-cheon, and Wonju-cheon were predicted to improve from 0.063㎎/ℓ to 0.010㎎/ℓ, from 0.091㎎/ℓ to 0.053㎎/ℓ, from 0.199㎎/ℓ to 0.100㎎/ℓ, from 0.168㎎/ℓ to 0.148㎎/ℓ, from 0.186㎎/ℓ to 0.105㎎/ℓ, from 0.019㎎/ℓ to 0.013㎎/ℓ, and from 0.822㎎/ℓ to 0.236㎎/ℓ, respectively.

      • Sol-Gel방법에 의해서 성장시킨PbTiO₃박막의 결정화와 물리적 성질

        Ferroelectric PbTiO3 thin films coated on SiO2/Si(100) and ITO glass substrates were prepared by sol-gel processing of metal alkoxide solutions and solvents. The use of sol-gel method for preparing various functional films makes it possible for the homogeneous distribution of elements at the molecular level, precise composition control, lower temperature synthesis, large surface coating and high optical quality. First of all, the XRD investigation shows that perovskite phase of polycrystalline PbTiO3 was formed by four times coating of the concentrated solution and by the heat treatment over 500, 600℃(O2 gas and air) and over 10, 20, 30 min. Surfaces of thin films were crack-free and uniform and the average grain size investigated by SEM was 0.25∼1.00 ㎛. Dielectric constant of PbTiO3/ITO glass thin film were 380 ∼ 5.25 in the region of 1 kHz∼ 10 MHz at room temperature(30℃), respectively. From the hysteresis loop of PbTiO3/ITO glass thin film, a remnant polarization of 0.382 μC/cm2 and a coercive filed of 23.85 kV/cm were obtained. At the frequency(5 kHz), C-V measurements of films in MFIS and MFM configurations showed well-behaved C-V characteristics and an injection type hysteresis. The capacitance of flat band(CFB) was 60 pF. The band gap energies of the thin films depend on the assumption of direct or indirect transition. Using one layer structure model, we calculated refractive index, extinction coefficient, absorption coefficient and band gap energy of thin film in the wavelength range of 300 to 800 nm. The band gap energy, refractive index and extinction coefficient at λ = 6325 Å of the PbTiO3 thin film were 3.7 eV, 1.96 and 0.1 respectively.

      • 白花蛇舌草 메탄올 抽出物의 抗腫瘍 效果 및 抗癌 棋戰에 關한 硏究

        Objectives: This experimental study was carried out to evaluate the effects of aqueous and methanol extracts of Hedyotis diffusa which has long been used for cancer treatment in oriental medicines on the induction of apoptotic cell death in human lymphoid leukemia cell line, HL-60. Methods: Cells were treated with various concentrations (200 to 0.4㎍) and periods (6 to 30 hr) of H_2O and methanol extracts of Hedyotis diffusa. Then, cells were tested for viability by MTT assay. Cells wrere treated with 200㎍/ml of methanol extract fork various periods. Genomic DNA was isolated, separated, on 1.5% agarose gels, stained with ethidium bromide and visualized under UV light. Cells were treated with 200㎍/ml of each extract for 16hr.Then, cells were treated with various doses of each extract for 12 hr and 100㎍/ml of methanol extract for various periods. Lysate from the cells used to measure the activity of caspase-1 and-3 proteases by using fluorogenic peptide substrates including acetyl-YVAD-AMC and acetyl-DEVD-AMC, respectively, Cells were treated with 200㎍/ml of each extract for various periods. Cell lysates were immunoprecipated with anti-JNKl antibodies. The immune complex was reacted with 32^p-ATP and c-Jun as a substrate. The phosphotransferase activity of JNKI was measured by suing Phosphoimage analyzer (Fuji Co., Japan). Nuclear extracts were isolated and incubated with oligonucleotide probe of NF-kB was measured by using EMSA and visualized by PhosphoImage analyzer (Fuji Co, Japan). Cell lysates were prepared and analyzed by Western blotting with anti-Bc12 antibodies and anti-Bax antibodies. Cells were pretreated with various doses of methanol extract for 2 hr. Then, the extract was removed by centrifugation. Cells were resuspended with RPMI-1640 media containing 0.3% agarose, 10% FBS, overlayred onto bottom layer agarose and incubated at CO_2 incubator for 6 days. The number of colony was cunted under light microscopy (×100). Results: The death of HL_60 cells was markedly induced by the addition of methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa in a dose and time-dependent manners. The apoptotic characteristic ladder pattern of DNA strand break was observed in death of HL_60 cells. In addition, it was shown nucleus chromatin condensation under Hoechst staining. Therefore, Hedyotis diffusa extract-induced death of HL-60 cells is mediated by apoptotic signaling processes. The activity of Caspaxe 3-like proteases remained in a basal level in HL-60 cells treated with aqueous extract of Hedyotis diffusa. However, it was markedly increased in HL-60 cells treated with methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa. In addition, the phosphotransferase activity of JNKl was increased in HL-60 cells treated with methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa. Furthermore, the activation of transcriptional activator, NF-kB was markedly induced by methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa. Anti-apoptotic Bc12 was cleaved into 23Kda fragment by treatment of methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa. However, expression of proapoptotic Bax protein was increased by treatment of methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa in a time-dependent manner. Furthermore, methanol extract markedly inhibited the colony forming efficiency of HL-60 cells in semisolid agar culture. Conclusions: Above results suggest that methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa induces the apoptotic death of human leukemic HL-60 cells via activations of Caspase-3 proteases, JNKI, transcriptional activator NF-κB, In addition, our results also suggest that methanol exthanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa reduces the malignant potential of HL-60 cells via down regulation of colony forming effciency through cleavage of Bc12 as well as induction of Bax.

      • McCoy 세포에서 Chlamydia trachomatis의 병원성 인자에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 병원성 세균인 Chlamydia trachomatis(C. trachomatis)가 숙주세포에침습시 C. trachomatis의 병원성 인자와 C. trachomatis와 상호작용하는 숙주 세포막의 인자를 규명함으로써 숙주세포에 대한 감염율을 향상시켜 보다 향상된 진단 방법을 개발하기 위하여 수행하였다. C. trachomatis로 감염된 세포에서 기본소체의 막 단백질을 분리한 결과 각 혈청형의 39 kDa과 42 kDa에서 major outer membranes(MOMPs)이 관찰되었으며, 혈청형 E와 G의 MOMPs는 42.5 kDa으로 동일하였지만 혈청형 F, H, I, 그리고 K의 MOMPs는 각각 다르게 관찰되었다. C. trachomatis가 숙주세포로 침습시 관련된 병원성 인자에 대하여 조사하고자 단층세포로 배양된 배양용기에 C. trachomatis를 24, 48 그리고 73시간대별로 접종시켜 관찰한 결과 72시간의 MOMPs의 양이 가장 많이 증가하였으며 이 결과로 MOMPS이 C. trachomatis 병원성에 중요한 작용을 함을 확인할 수 있었다. C. trachomatis가 침습시 숙주세포의 막 단백질 변화양상을 관찰하기 위해 정상세포와 C. trachomatis로 1, 2, 3 그리고 4시간대별로 접종 시간을 달리한 숙주세포의 막 단백질을 분리한 결과 42 kDa의 단백질 양이 Chlamydia에 감염된 세포 내에서 증가됨을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이로 42 kDa의 막 단백질이 침습시 숙주세포 표면에 대한 수용체로서 작용함을 알 수 있었다. The present study was performed to analyze the pathogenic factors involved in the invasion process of Chlamydia trachomatis(C. trachomatis) into McCoy cells. In this study, elementary bodies(EBs) of C. trachomatis serotypes(E, F, G, H, I, K and LGV) could be isolated by the method of Percoll density gradient centrifugation and the pathogens of serotypes were also compared from whole-cell lysates by using sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel elelectrophoresis. All chlamydial serotypes showed a single predominant protein ranging from 39 to 42 kDa. The major outer membrane proteins(MOMPs) of the E and G serotypes had an identical molecular weight of 42.5 kDa. In contrast, the MOMPs of the F, H, I and K serotypes were showed different molecular weights of MOMPs. By immunoblotting with anti-MOMP antibody it was revealed that the quantify of MOMPs was time-dependently increased when McCoy cells were infected with Chlamydia for 24, 48 and 72 hr. These results indicated that MOMPs are closely related to chlamydial infection into the host cell.

      • 전자선치료시 유효 선원 피부간 거리 결정에 관한 연구

        Under the various clinical circumstances, there is a condition to change source to skin distance(SSD). It is possible to correct photon beam by well-known inverse square law. On the other hand, the electron beam is not exact location of source, that's why it is difficult to apply as it is. In case of electron beam, we should correct the difference of SSD by measure effective SSD . There are many ways to measure effective SSD. In this study, Faiz Khan's method was used. The measurement energy is 6,9,12,16,20 MeV and field size is set standard applicator 6×6, 10×10, 15×15, 20×20, 25x25㎠. From the bottom of the standard applicator to skin distance is set to 5㎝. So we measured dose at the gap to 0∼20㎝. According to a production company of linear accelerator, or even though same production company, the qualities of electron beam can be different. So, effective SSD can be different every several accelerator. Therefore, it is desirable to use the effective SSD measured at every electron beam energy and field size actually.

      • 지속성 외래 복막투석환자에서 발생한 장간막경색증 1예

        The mesenteric infarction, as a abdominal disease which show acute abdominal pain and almost need to emergency operation, has very high mortality. This mesenteric infarction has been reported very rarely. Also specific clinical manifestations are not clear, therefore initial diagnosis can be missed easily so that patients usually miss their opportunities for adequate treatment. Especially CAPD patients have high mortality because of their rareness and having similar symptoms like CAPD peritonitis. The authors report that the mesenteric infarction was miss-diagnosed to the CAF'D peritonitis with unspecific symptoms.

      • 아시아문화중심 도시 조성 방안에 관한 연구

        The national local autonomous entities are trying to come up with a counter measure responsive to creative pragmatism which is the policy direction of the current government. Gwang-ju is filled with an out-pouring of expectation and concern toward a government project called, "The Business of Creation for a Culture-Centered City in Asia". This business which is intended to innovate the cities through culture is essential to the continuing policy movement. However, the government has said that it will carry out practical politics signaling revolution in politics, the economy, society, culture, diplomacy as well as security. Gwang-ju needs to prepare counter-measures for maximizing its development capabilities, requiring practice and proactivity. For this, comprehension of and discussion about the general direction of the current state of affairs is needed. Gwang-ju has looked into the policies related to culture and the creation business for a culture-centered city. Fact: Indicators about 5 general state affairs of government based upon centering objectives and details were observed for each task to consistently pursue the creation business for a culture-centered city. Gwang-ju also takes on the responsibility of being a good example to other cities which want to follow in its footsteps to become another cultural city. When Gwang-ju, a "culture-centered" city in Asia, becomes the place where talented people from around Asia or around the world want to come to see and possibly live and settle down, it can and will be a cultural hub in Asia. As the number of people who take pride in the city of Gwang-ju increases, Gwang-ju will be redefined as a "culture-centered" city in Asia, taking rank among other cultural cities around the world in the future. Right now, active support, enthusiasm and effort at the national and local levels of government, along with the citizens' active participation and capacity for buildup, are essential for the success of Gwang-ju becoming a the first "culture-centered" city. 전국 지방자치단체는 정부의 정책방향인 창조적 실용주의에 부응하는 대응전략을 마련하기에 고심하고 있으며, 광주도 아시아문화중심도시 조성사업이라는 국책사업에 대하여 기대와 우려를 동시에 쏟아내고 있다. 문화를 통하여 도시를 헥신시키겠다는 이 사업은 지속적인 정책추진이 필수적이나 정부는 실용적인 정치를 펼치겠다고 약속함으로써 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화, 외교, 안보에 대변혁을 예고하였다 광주도 발전역량을 극대화하기 위해서는 국정과제별 대응전략을 마련하고 능동적·적극적 실천이 요구되며 이를 위해서는 국정지표 전반에 대한 이해와 논의가 필요하다. 정부의 5대 국정지표에 대한 전략목표와 세부과제를 중심으로 문화정책과 아시아문화중심도시 조성사업과 관련되는 정책들을 살펴보고 아시아문화중심도시 조성사업의 지속적인 추진을 위한 각 주체별 과제를 모색하였다. 광주는 또 다른 문화도시를 꿈꾸는 도시들의 모범이 되어야 하는 책무를 안고 있다. 아시아 문화중심도시 광주는 아시아 및 전 세계의 창의적인 인재들이 찾아오고 싶어 하고, 문화를 사랑하는 아세안과 세계인이 와서 살며, 창작하고 싶어 하는 도시가 될 때 진정한 아시아문화의 말신지가 되는 것이다. 미래의 광주는 세계의 문화도시틀과 어깨를 나란히 하며 광주다움을 자랑스럽게 여기는 시민들이 넘쳐날 때 진정한 아시아문화중심도시로 자리매김 할 것이며, 이를 위해서는 국가적 차원의 적극적인 지원, 지방정부의 열정과 노력, 시민의 적극적 참여와 역량강화가 필수적이다.

      • 고빌리루빈혈증을 동반한 자가면역성 간염 1례

        자가면역성 간염은 대개 만성 경과를 가지며, 혈중 자가면역항체와 혈청 글로불린치의 상승, 그리고 조직학적으로 괴사 염증성 변화를 특징으로 하는 질환으로 아직 정확한 병인이 밝혀져 있지 않은 상태이다. 발병연령은 대개 젊은 영자(15-25세)에서 호발한다. 이 질환은 급성 간염의 임상경과를 보일 수 있으나, 심한 급성 간염이나 전격성 간염으로도 나타날 수 있는데, 이 경우 아주 나쁜 예후를 보인다고 한다. 치료는 자가면역성 간염 임상 경과의 다양성이나 병인, 병리기전의 불확실성에도 불구하고 대개 steroid 치료에 반응하는 것으로 알려져 있으며 대개 80%의 관해율을 나타내며 궁극적으로 간경변으로의 진행을 막을 수 있는 것으로 보인다. 저자들은 58세 남자에서 발생한 급성의 경과를 가지고 심한 황달을 동반한 자가면역성 간염을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a chronic necroinflammatory liver disorder of unknown cause associated with circulating autoantibodies and a high serum globulin level. The age of onset of AIH show a peak between the age of 15 and 25 years. AIH can develop and be manifested as acute hepatitis, but severe form of acute hepatitis or fulminant hepatic failure has a poor prognosis. Although AIH is likely to progress from chronic active hepatitis to cirrhosis, steroid therapy can control the disease activity, prolong survival, improve the quality of life , and defer liver transplantation. In the present report we describe a 58-year-old man who admitted because of progressive jaundice and fatigue. He was diagnosed with AIH from laboratory test result showing positivity for antinuclear antibodies, anti-smooth muscle antibodies, and negativity for hepatitis viral markers and from liver biopsy. Steroid therapy, oral administration of prednisolone, was effective in improving the liver function test. Following liver biopsy 6 months after onset shows markedly improved necroinflammatory activity.

      • 기종성 신우신염 1례

        기종성 신우신염은 주로 당뇨병환자나 폐쇄성 요로질환을 가진 환자에 발생하며 특징적으로 신실질 및 그 주위조직에 가스를 형성하면서 심한 조직괴사를 일으키는 매우 드문 급성 화농성 신감염으로 사망률이 높은 질환이다. 이 질환은 1989년 Kelly와 MacCallum에 의해 처음 보고된 이래 외국문헌에 약 90례 정도가 보고되어 있으며 국내에는 28례가 보고되어 있다. 수액 및 전해질 보충, 인슐린 투여를 통한 적절한 혈당조절 및 항생제 투여등의 내과적 치료와 절개배농 및 신적출술등의 수술적 치료 방법이 있다. 내과적 치료로 가스의 감소가 없는 경우에는 즉각적인 수술적 치료를 시행하여야하므로 이 가스변화에 대한 추적관찰이 중요하다 하겠다. 본 저자들은 당뇨병환자에서 발생한 기종성 신우신염 1례를 내과적 요법을 치험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다. Emphysematous pyelonephritis is rare, life-threatening infection of the renal parenchyma and perirenal tisseue. This disease is characterized by the production of intrarenal and perirenal gas and is frequently encountered in patients with diabetes mellitus or urinary obstruction. We experienced a case of emphysematouse pyelonephritis in a 62 years old women with poorly controlled diabetes mellitus who had been managed with medical theraphy. So we report this case with a review of the referenced literatures.
