A Middleware Based Architecture for the Industrial Internet of Things
( Ioan Ungurean ),( Nicoleta Cristina Gaitan ),( Vasile Gheorghita Gaitan ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.7
Due to its potential, the Internet of Things (IoT) begins to be used in the industrial field. Nevertheless, although the concept called the Industrial Internet of Things does not know a widely accepted definition, it is based on the existing technology, and introduces the IoT in the industrial environment through the compliance with specific additional requirements and by integrating various fieldbuses with distinctive features, from the real-time point of view. The aim of this paper is to propose a practical architecture for the Industrial Internet of Things. The proposed architecture is designed around the Data Distribution Service for Real Time System (DDS) middleware protocol, and it is organized on four levels. Between these levels, it is defined standard interface, and they can be developed independently. For this reason, the architecture is scalable because at the middleware level, the DDS can be replaced by other middleware systems. At the final, it is performed a comparison between several middleware systems used in the proposed architecture.
Physical characteristics of magnetorheological suspensions and their applications
Ioan Bica,Ying Dan Liu,최형진 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.2
This paper reviews the potential applications of magnetorheological suspensions along with their rheological and electro-conductive properties under an applied magnetic field. Linked to these physical properties, the range of potential engineering applications of their linear and revolving vibrations include shock absorbers, dampers, clutches, magneto-resistors, magnetic field sensors and ultrafine polishing technology. Improvements in the electrical characteristics of steady current generators, rotary dampers under high and low pressures, kineto-therapeutic devices and medical applications are also covered.

The magneto-rheological elastomer (MRE) is obtained by polymerization of silicone rubber with iron microparticles between the aluminum plates of a flat capacitor. In magnetic field, on one side, and by MRE compression, on the other, the capacity of the flat capacitor changes. The paper points out that for 1.8 ≤ H (kA/m) ≤ 12.6 and for 0.2 ≤ p (N/m2) ≤ 3.5, the capacity of the flat capacitor changes reversibly. Assimilating the MRE with that of an elastic body, the dependence of the bulkmodulus and of the sum of the principal deformations on the strength of the applied magnetic field is determined. The results obtained in this manner are discussed.
Quadrupolar magnetoresistor based on electroconductive magnetorheological elastomer
Ioan Bica 한국공업화학회 2009 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.15 No.6
The quadrupolar magnetoresistor presented in this paper is based on the electroconductive magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) such as discussed in this paper. It is shown that the electric resistances on each pair of terminals of the magnetoresistor can be controlled by an external magnetic field. The results obtained are able to serve for several applications.

The flat capacitor is built of two non-magnetic plates (with dimensions 0.065 m 0.050 m) between which there is a layer of magnetorheological elastomer (MRE). The thickness of the layer is 0.0015 m 10%. MRE is based on silicone rubber and iron particles. The iron particles diameter ranges between 0.12 mmand 0.75 mm. The electric capacity, in absence of the magnetic field, is 377 1 pF. In cross magnetic field with strengths up to 94 kA/m, the flat capacitor’s capacity increases by up to 200%. For well chosen values of the intensity of the magnetic field, the capacity of the flat capacitor with MRE changes with time. The experimental results obtained in this manner are discussed.
