        사상의학의 음양론 구조와 윤리적 함의

        전통적인 동양의학은 인간의 인체의 생리와 병리의 원리와 진단과 치료와 약물에 대해 오행이론을 기초로 구축되었다. 이제마는 기초가 되는 이론을 오행에서 음양으로 바꾸었다. 그렇기 때문에 음양론은 이제마 사상의학의 근본이론이라 할 수 있다. 이제마는 음양의 대대원리를 구체적으로 소장지리와 양상음하구조에 적용하여 인체, 마음, 음식, 에너지를 음양론적 구조로 짜놓았다. 음식섭취를 통해 얻어지는 온열양한은 온열 기운은 상방향으로 양한 기운은 하방향으로 작용한다. 태소음양 사상인을 구분하는데 폐비간신의 크기에 따라 나누었다. 태소음양인은 각각에 해당하는 장이 서로 대대(對待)관계로 구성된다. 폐가 크고 간이 작으면 태양인, 간이 크고 폐가 작으면 태음인으로 분류하였다. 비가 크고 신이 작으면 소양인, 신이 크고 비가 작으면 소음인으로 분류하였다. 인간의 심성인 애노희락도 애노는 양의 심성이라 위로 향하고, 희락은 음의 심성으로 아래로 하강한다. 신체에너지인 신기혈정도 마찬가지이다. 인간의 감각기능의 작동과 더불어 감정의 조절에 대해 유학에서는 윤리적 당위성에 입각하여 요청한다. 이제마는 인간의 감각기관과 감정의 조절이 인체의 건강에 미치는 영향이 지대함을 강조한다. 이는 유학의 윤리론을 생리적으로 확장하여 강조한 것이다. 인체에 저장된 신체에너지의 등급이 감각기관의 작용에 달려있고 장부에 주입되는 에너지의 건강도는 인간의 감정조절에 달려있다는 것이다. 감각기관을 예에 맞게 사용하고 감정을 적절히 조절하는 문제를 당위적 유학윤리에 국한하지 않고 생리적 효용성으로 전환하여 사람들의 현실적 건강욕구를 유인할 수 있다는 데 사상의학의 윤리적 함의가 있다. Traditional oriental medicine was built on the basis of the five elements theory of the principle, diagnosis, treatment, and drugs of the human body's physiology and pathology. Lee Jema changed the underlying theory from the five elements to yin and yang. Therefore, the theory of yin and yang can be said to be a fundamental theory of Sasang Medicine. Jema applied Yin-Yang Daedae Principle(陰陽待對:the idea that yin and yang need each other keenly though they are in antagonistic relationships) specifically Sojangjili(消長之理:The theory that shade decreases when sunlight increases) and the structure of the Yangsang-Yinha(陽上陰下:A structure in which the yang is above and the yin is below) and woven the human body, mind, food, and energy into a yin-yang theory structure. Among warm hot cool cold energy(溫熱凉寒) obtained through food intake, the warm hot energy acts in the upward direction and the cool cold energy in the downward direction. Taesoeumyangin(太少陰陽人) Sasangin(四象人) is classified according to the size of the lung, spleen, liver, and kidney(肺脾肝腎). In Taesoeumyangin(太少陰陽人), each viscera is composed of Daedae relationship. If the lungs are large and the liver is small, it’s Taeyangin, large liver and small lungs were classified as Taeumin. Large spleen and small kidney were classified as Soyangin, and large and small spleen were classified as Soeumin. In the case of Happiness, Anger, Sadness, and Fun (喜怒哀樂), which are human minds, Happiness and Anger are yang's mind, so they go upward, and Sadness, and Fun are yin's mind, so they descend downward. The body's energy, Singi Hyeoljeong (神氣血精) is the same. Confucianism calls for the operation of human sensory functions and the regulation of emotions based on ethical justification. Lee Jema emphasizes that the regulation of human sense organs and emotions has a profound effect on human body health. This is a physiological extension of the ethics of Confucianism to emphasize. The level of body energy stored in the human body depends on the action of the sensory organs, and the measure of the health of the energy injected into the viscera and entrails depends on the human emotion regulation. Sasang Medicine has ethical implications in that the use of sensory organs according to propriety and proper control of emotions is not limited to the Justifiable Confucianism ethic, but can be converted into physiological utility to attract people's realistic health needs.

        Probiotic Potential of Enterococcus faecium Isolated from Chicken Cecum with Immunomodulating Activity and Promoting Longevity in Caenorhabditis elegans

        Probiotics, including Enterococcus faecium, confer a health benefit on the host. An Enterococcus strain was isolated from healthy chicken cecum, identified as E. faecium by 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis, and designated as E. faecium L11. To evaluate the potential of E. faecium L11 as a probiotic, the gastrointestinal tolerance, immunomodulatory activity, and lifespan extension properties of the strain were assayed. E. faecium L11 showed >66% and >62% survival in artificial gastric juice (0.3% pepsin, pH 2.5) and simulated small intestinal juice (0.5% bile salt and 0.1% pancreatin), respectively. Heat-killed E. faecium L11 significantly (p < 0.05) increased immune cell proliferation compared with controls, and stimulated the production of cytokines (IL-6 and TNF-α) by activated macrophages obtained from ICR mice. In addition, E. faecium L11 showed a protective effect against Salmonella Typhimurium infection in Caenorhabditis elegans. In addition, feeding E. faecium L11 significantly (p < 0.05) extended the lifespan of C. elegans compared with the control. Furthermore, genes related to aging and host defense were upregulated in E. faecium L11-fed worms. In conclusion, E. faecium L11, which prolongs the lifespan of C. elegans, may be a potent probiotic supplement for livestock.

        ANOTHER PROOF OF CLASSICAL DIXON'S SUMMATION THEOREM FOR THE SERIES <sub>3</sub>F<sub>2</sub>

        In this short research note, we aim to provide a new proof of classical Dixon's summation theorem for the series <sub>3</sub>F<sub>2</sub> with unit argument. The theorem is obtained by evaluating an infinite integral and making use of classical Gauss's and Kummer's summation theorem for the series <sub>2</sub>F<sub>1</sub>.

        One of challenging goals of developmental biology is understand of genetic inheritability of developmental programming. This challenging task first requires identification of all genetic factors and their functional dependences, revealing holistic view of genetic organization of cellular and organismal development. Because of high complexity of genotype as well as phenotype, genetic dissection of developmental programs could be even untouchable by combinatorial explosion of the number of possible associations. Therefore, modern genetics needs to be more systematic and predictive. Recently we proposed network-guided approach for genetics of complex traits. First, we construct probabilistic functional gene networks for cells or organisms by benchmarking and integrating heterogeneous multi-omics data that are in general publicly available. Then, using guilt-by-association, and other algorithms of network propagation of known biological information, we predict gene functions, phenotypic effect of loss-of-function, and epistatic interaction. The information can contribute to reconstruction of map between genotype and phenotype. The network-guided genetics method has been effectively applied for various organisms; from simple microbe yeast, to multicellular animal C. elegans, and to the human.

        The main aim of this research paper is to evaluate the general integral of the form in the most general form for any ℓ□ Z; and i, j = 0, ±1, ±2. The re- sults are established with the help of generalized Watson's summa- tion theorem due to Lavoie, et al. Fifty interesting general integrals have also been obtained as special cases of our main findings.

        A CLASS OF DEFINITE INTEGRALS

        The aim of this paper is to provide a class of six definite general integrals in terms of gamma function. The results are established with the help of generalized summation formulas obtained earlier by Rakha and Rathie. The results established in this paper are simple, interesting, easily established and may be useful potentially.

        ON THE IDENTITIES BETWEEN THE ARITHMETIC FUNCTIONS

        Dirichlet series is a Riemann zeta function attached with an arithmetic function. Here, we studied the properties of Dirichlet series and found some identities between arithmetic functions.
