      • Development of a Mobile Application, "Wild Flowers of Bukhansan National Park (version 1.0)", for Identification of Plants in Bukhansan National Park

        We developed the educational purpose mobile application, named "Wild Flowers of Bukhansan National Park (version 1.0)", aiming for easy identification of wild flowers for students and visitors in the park. When visitors find a flower or part of plant in the park, visitors can search for its name utilizing the pictures and characters provided in their own smartphone mobile devices or tablet PCs. The application provides pictures of wild flowers in the park and character-based searching system based on 12 diagnostic features (e.g., growth form, leaf arrangement, flower symmetry, petal color, petal number, sepal number, etc). We adopted the complete floristic survey of Chung and Lee (1962) and added species that we confirmed their distribution in the park during the development of this application. In summary, number of vascular plants in this park was estimated to be 428 taxa including 100 families, 280 genera, 327 species, 1 subspecies, 50 varieties, and 5 formas. We provided a total of 588 pictures representing 358 taxa and each taxon includes multiple pictures in many cases. Included identification quizzes can be an efficient educational tool as well as fun activity for students and visitors who are learning plant species in Korea. Our next step will include GPS function in the application for indicating visitor's location and for providing previously reported sites of the species that we interested in the map of the park. The future application which includes GPS function will be a valuable tool for the monitoring of rare plants, plant researches related to the climate changes, etc. We currently provide Korean iPhone version only, and English version and both of android versions will be serviced soon.

        The Analysis on the Value of Yongsan National Park and its Economic Effect

        This study estimated economic value and benefits of Yongsan National Park, which will be constructed by financial investment of the government and objectively estimated the real value of it by understanding the value of the park from a user's view of the park. For this, the value of Yongsan National Park is divided into using value such as carbon reduction and the function of relieving urban heat island as an environmental material and non-using value based on willingness to pay of the public according to the construction of the park. As a result of the analysis, it was found out that the using value of Yongsan National Park would reach 130 million won up to maximum level of 450 million won per year, and the non-using value was analyzed to be worthy of 2,344 won per capita every month. Besides, economic ripple effect that can be expected in the process of the park construction project was analyzed to be a national policy that creates effect on production inducement of 2.6 trillion won and value added of 809.6 billion won and new jobs for 25,620 persons. Considering the value of Yongsan National Park and the effect of the project based on the result of this study, it was found that it could sufficiently secure the validity of implementing the project compared to the financial investment by the government. Therefore, it must be emphasized that diffusion strategy is necessary for national understanding and for a nation to make it understood its appropriateness widely in respect to the construction of Yongsan National Park for the successful construction of Yongsan National Park and to raise its using value in the future.

        한국산 4개 지역형 소나무 천연림의 물질생산에 관한 연구

        Pinus densiflora is not only widely distributed but also one of the most economically important timber species in Korea. In Korea, this species is classified into four local forms according to tree forms, as it has widely geographical variations. Trees of Ankang form are dwarfish nearly like shrubs, and those of Keumkang form are very tall and straight. Those of flatland and highland forms are exhibited in-between Ankang and Keumkang forms. This study was carried out to examine biomass, net production and production efficiency among four local forms of Pirzus densiflora forests growing in Korea. For the study, dimension analysis was used for trees and harvest method for shrubs and herbs in four 30-40 year-old stands showing the typical tree forms. Stand biomass of Ankang, flatland, highland and Keumkang forms were 29.87, 110.89, 133.53 and 205.42 t/ha, respectively. As going in order of Ankang, flatland, highland and Keumkang forms, the proportions of stem woods to total tree biomass increased while the proportions of stem barks, live branches, needles and roots showed a tendency to decrease. Stand net productions of Ankang, flatland, highland and Keumkang forms were 3.716, 10.796, 13.097 and 16.500 t/ha yr., respectively. As going in order of Ankang, flatland, highland and Keumkang forms, the proportions of stem woods and lire branches to total tree net production increased while the proportion of needles decreased. In case of live branches, the opposite trend of biomss and net production proportion may be resulted from the differences in the ratio of self-pruning. Net assimilation ratios of Ankang, flatland, highland and Keumkang forms were 1.406, 1.920. 1.487 and 1.677, respectively. Efficiency of needles to produce stems in those forms were 0.239, 0.714. 0.572 and 0.771. respectively. Considering the difference in measuring time, net assimilation ratio and efficiency of needles to produce stems may increase as going in order of Ankang, flatland, highland and Keumkang forms.

        국립공원 아고산대 독립훼손지 복원식생 분포특성 및 관리방안

        본 연구는 독립훼손지 중 아고산대에 위치한 지리산국립공원 세석평전과 노고단 복원식생지를 대상으로 현존식생 분석 및 식생분포 특성을 파악하여 중장기적인 모니터링 및 관리방안 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 현존식생 조사범위는 훼손지 일대 유역권분포 현황을 고려하여 설정하였으며, 세석평전 조사면적은 55,037㎡, 노고단 조사면적은 166,599㎡ 이었다. 세석평전은 초본층에 의한 식생피복도는 90% 이상 수준으로서 나지노출이 없었고, 관목층의 피복도가 60% 이상으로 안정화되어 있었다. 주요 출현수종은 구상나무, 사스래나무, 쇠물푸레나무, 철쭉, 털진달래, 붉은병꽃나무 등 식재수종과 자연적으로 이입한 자생수종이 생육하고 있었다. 노고단은 신갈나무, 호랑버들, 철쭉, 털진달래, 미역줄나무 등이 우점하는 관목식생지가 52%로 가장 넓게 분포하고 있었고, 전반적으로 식생활착 상태가 양호하였다. 노고단의 원식생은 신갈나무군락으로 추정되었고, 군부대철거지에는 귀화식물이 분포하고 있기 때문에 적극적인 관리가 필요하였다. 연구대상지는 장기적으로 주변 자연식생과 조화로운 식생경관으로 발달할 것으로 예측되었다. 향후 훼손지 복원모델은 인근 지역의 원식생을 고려하여 설정해야 할 것이지만, 복원 달성 목표는 실현가능한 수준의 목표를 설정해야 할 것이다. This study was conducted to provide basic data for mid-to long-term monitoring and establishment of management plans by analyzing the existing vegetation and identifying the vegetation distribution characteristics for the restored vegetation in Nogodan and Seseokpyeongjeon in Jirisan National Park located in the subalpine zone among the independent damaged areas. Actual vegetation survey range was established in consideration of the distribution of the watershed around the damaged area. The surveyed area of Seseokpyeongjeon was 55,037㎡, and the surveyed area of Nogodan was 166,599㎡. In Seseokpyeongjeon, the vegetation coverage by the herbaceous layer was almost 90% or more, there was no bare exposure, and the coverage of the shrub layer was stabilized at 60% or more. The main emerging tree species were planted species such as Abies koreana, Betula ermanii, Fraxinus sieboldiana, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum, and Weigela florida as well as natively migrated native species. In Nogodan, the shrub vegetation dominated by Quercus mongolica, Salix caprea, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum, and Tripterygium regelii was the most widely distributed with 52% of the area, and the overall diet was good. The native vegetation of Nogodan was presumed to be a cypress colony. Naturalized plants were distributed in the military base demolition site, so active management was required. The study site was predicted to develop into a vegetation landscape in harmony with the surrounding natural vegetation in the long term. In the future, the restoration model for damaged areas should be set in consideration of the native vegetation of the nearby area, but the goal to achieve restoration should be set at a feasible level.

        버들치, Rhynchocypris oxycephalus (Sauvage and Dabry) 기아시 일부형질에서의 효과 : 개관 A Review

        기아시와 포식시 버들치, Rhynchocypris oxycephalus (Sauvage and Dabry)에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 조직학적 및 생화학적 변화, 체절단면 계측형질 변화 그리고 계측형질 변화에 대하여 조사하였다. 기아에 따른 버들치의 생화학적, 조직학적 변화를 파악하기 위해, 간의 간중량지수, 단백질함량, RNA량 및 DNA량 조사와 더불어 간세포 및 중장 상피세포의 조직학적 조사를 실시한 결과, 기아군은 포식군에 비해 간의 단백질함량, RNA량 및 DNA량에서 높은 값을 보였지만, 먹이 공급 중단은 버들치의 간중량지수, 간세포 핵 크기 및 중장 상피세포 핵 높이에 있어서 감소를 나타내었다. 본 실험에서 조사된 RNA-DNA비는 버들치의 영양상태 파악 지수로 유용하였으며 또한, 버들치 표본 시기에서의 높은 성장 단계인지 혹은 낮은 성장 단계인지의 성장 활성 파악을 가능케 하였다. 본 연구 결과의 자료를 구체적으로 해석 하였으며, 아울러 다수의 생물학적 중요 연관 사항들을 고찰하였다. 버들치 기아시의 영양상태 평가를 위하여 비만도, 내장괴지수, Dressing비를 비롯한 체횡단 절단면에서의 형태 적변화를 조사하였다. 9주간의 기아시 비만도, 내장괴지수 및 대부분의 체횡단 절단면 계측형질들에서의 감소를 보였다(P<0.05). 본 연구 결과, 실험에 적용된 영양성 Parameter는 본 종의 영양상태 파악에 유용한 지표임을 시사한다. 연구 결과를 자세히 해석하여, 버들치에서의 주요 체 절단 형질의 산업성을 논의하였다. 버들치에서의 75일간 기아가 Classical dimension과 Truss dimension에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. Truss dimension인 경우 포식시와 기아시 복강을 비롯한 머리부위와 몸통부위가 유의하게 증가하였다(P<0.05). Truss dimension의 꼬리부위 특히, 몸통의 뒷부분이 포식과 기아시 일반적으로 감소하였다. Classical dimension인 경우 포식시 꼬리부위가 감소한 반면, 기아시 몸통부위와 꼬리부위에서의 체고 관련 형질에 연관시 머리부위에서의 형질들이 유의하게 감소하였다. 본 연구 결과 Truss dimension은 Classical dimension을 보완하여 어체의 수직방향 연관 형질 파악도 가능케 하였다. Truss dimension과 Classical dimension인 경우 포식시와 기아시 머리 아랫부위는 거의 영향이 없어, 본 형질은 버들치속 어류의 분류학적측면에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다. 버들치에서 체고와 연관된 몸통부위 형질들은 상이한 서식지에 기인된, 다양한 먹이공급 차이의 파악에 유용하리라 사료된다. Following the previous experiments, a starvation experiment was conducted to determine the influence of feeding and starvation on the histological and biochemical changes, the morphormetric changes in the sectioned body and the morphometric changes in Rhynchocypris oxycephalus (Sauvage and Dabry). The influence of starvation on nutritional conditions of the histological changes of hepatocyte and intestinal epithelium as hepatosmatic index (HSI), protein, RNA and DNA concentrations of liver in R. oxycephalus was tested. Although the starved group showed higher concentrations of protein, DNA and RNA than the fed group, food deprivation resulted in a decrease in the HSI, hepatocyte nucleus size and nuclear height of the intestinal epithelium. The RNA-DNA ratio appears to be a useful index of nutritional status in R. oxycephalus and may be useful for determining if R. oxycephalus is in a period of rapid or slow growth at the time of sampling. Additionally, the data have been interpreted in detail and some biologically important relationships discussed. The effects of starvation on the morphometrical changes in sectioned body traits, condition factor, viscera index and dressing percentage were determined for evaluating nutritional conditions of R. oxycephalus. Starvation for nine weeks resulted in a decrease in most sectioned traits as well as in condition factor and viscera index (P<0.05). These findings suggest that nutritional parameters used in this study appear to be a useful index for nutritional status in this species. The data has been interpreted in detail and some important body sectioned values of interest to commercial growers discussed. A 75-day study was conducted to determine the effect of starvation on classical and truss parameters in R. oxycephalus. Truss dimensions of almost the entire head and trunk region as well as the abdomen were increased significantly through feeding or starvation (P<0.05). Truss dimensions of the caudal region generally decreased through feeding or starvation, particularly those dimensions at the hind part of the trunk. There were some significant decreases in classical dimensions of the head region during feeding, in relation to body depth characteristics in the trunk and caudal region during starvation, whereas there was only one decreasing classical dimension in the caudal region during feeding. The results of this study indicate that application of the truss network as a character set enforces classical coverage across the body form, discrimination among experimental groups thus being enhanced. Considering that the dimension of the lower part of the head and some truss and classical dimensions were least affected by feeding and starvation, these dimensions may then be useful as a taxonomical indicator to discriminate the species of Rhynchocypris sp. The value of trunk region dimensions with a large component of body depth in R. oxycephalus is most likely to be compromised by variability related to differences in feeding regimes of fish in different habitats.

      • 신원방우황청심원액의 심혈관계에 관한 약효

        Abstract-In order to investigate the pharmacological properties of New Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Liquid (NSCL), effects of Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Liquid (SCL) and NSCL were compared. In isolated rat aorta, NSCL and SCL showed the relaxation of blood vessels in maximum contractile response to phenylephrine (10^-6 M) regardless to intact endothelium or denuded rings of the rat aorta. Furthermore, the presences of the inhibitor of NO synthase and guanylate cyclase did not affect the relaxing effect of NSCL and SCL. NSCL and SCL inhibited the vascular contractions induced by acetylcholine, prostaglandin endoperoxide or peroxide in a dose-dependent manner. In conscious spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs), NSCL and SCL significantly decreased heart rate. NSCL and SCL, at high doses, had a negative inotropic effect that was a decrease of left ventricular developed pressure and (-dp/dt)/(+dp/dt) in the isolated perfused rat hearts, and also decreased the contractile force and heart rate in the isolated rat right atria. In excised guinea-pig papillary muscle, NSCL and SCL had no effects on parameters of action potential such as resting membrane potential, action potential amplitude, APD_90 and V_max at low doses, whereas inhibited the cardiac contractility at high doses. These results suggested that NSCL and SCL have weak cardiovascular effects with relaxation of blood vessels and decrease of heart rate, and that this effect is no significant differences between cardiovascular effects of two preparations.

        버들치 Rhynchocypris oxycephalus(Sauvage and Dabry) 기아시의 영양 상태 평가를 위하여 비만도, 내장괴지수, dreessing 비를 비롯한 체 횡단 절단면에서의 형태적 변화를 조사였다. 9주간의 기아시 비만도, 내장괴지수 및 대부분의 체 횡단 절단면 계측 형질들에서의 감소를 보였다(P<0.05). 본 연구 결과, 실험에 적용된 영양성 parameter는 본 종의 영양 상태 파악에 유용한 지표임을 시사한다. 연구 결과를 자세히 해석하여, 버들치에서의 주요 체 절단 형질의 산업성을 논의하였다.       • I-Muscone의 심혈관계에 관한 약리연구

        In order to investigate the pharmacological properties of l-muscone, effects of l-muscone and musk were studied on the cardiovascular system with various experimental models. In isolated rat aorta, l-muscone and musk made the relaxation of blood vessels in maximum contractile response to phenylephrin (10^-6M) in endothelium-containing rings of the rat aorta, but not in endothelium-denuded rings. However, l-muscone and musk in the presence of the inhibitor of NO synthase and guanylate cyclase did not make the relaxation of blood vessel. In spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs), l-muscone and musk slightly reduced blood pressure but significantly decreased heart rate. In the isolated perfused rat hearts. l-muscone and musk did not affect significantly on LVDP, contractile force, coronary flow and (-dp/dt)/(+dp/dt). These results suggest that l-muscone and musk have weak cardiovascular effects with relaxation of blood vessel and decrease of heart rate, but without significant cardiac functions.

      • 산천어, Oncorhynchus masou의 성분화

        Determing the initial treatment time and duration of treatment for sex reversal in fish is important. In this study the formation of gonad and their manner of sex differentiation in cherry salmon. Oncorhynchus masou was histologically examined. Primordial germ cell in mean total length 2.24 cm fry (24 days after hatching. accumulated temperature 194℃ ) appeared between mesonephric dut and gut. Genital ridge development was predominant in larva (36 days after hatching, accumulated temperature 294℃ ) with primordial germ cells(mean diameter of 14.2㎛) in active mitosis. Sex differentiation initiated at 40 days after hatching(mean total length 2.87cm. accumulated temperature 326℃ ) and ovarian cavity and efferent duct appeared in larva(mean total length of 3.25 cm) 44 days after hatching. Larva with a mean total length of 5.90 cm in 104 days after hatching (accumulated temperature 890℃) showed differentiated gonad and female and male sex ratio in this stage is 1:1.04(P<0.01). Above result revealed that gonad differentiation pattern of cherry salmon is differentiated gonochorism.
