        UI 애니메이션을 이용한 브랜드 성격의 표현

        최근 컴퓨터 그래픽스 기술의 발전과 더불어 애플리케이션 UI에 애니메이션 적용이 광범위하게 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 UI에 적용된 애니메이션에 대한 연구는, 주로 구현하는 기술에 대한 연구로 이루어져 있다. 애니메이션의 기본 원칙으로 대표되는 ‘찌그러짐과 늘어남’, ‘사전기대’, ‘동작 후 반응’ 등은 캐릭터 애니메이션에서 캐릭터의 성격(Personality)을 표현하는 중요한 원칙으로 적용되어져 왔지만, UI 애니메이션에서는 사용성을 저해할 수 있다는 이유로 많이 연구되지 않고 있다. 이 연구는 UI 애니메이션에 적용된 성격 표현이 애플리케이션에 대한 브랜드 이미지와 어떤 관계성이 있는지를 밝히는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 선행연구를 통해 성격을 표현할 수 있는 애니메이션의 원칙을 고찰하고, 이를 적용한 UI 애니메이션과 그렇지 않은 UI 애니메이션을 비교하였다. 결과로 UI 애니메이션이 적용된 애니메이션(흥분: M=5.19 SD=0.45, 세련됨: M=3.95, SD=0.46, 강인함: M=4.65, SD=0.52)의 성격이 그렇지 않은 UI 애니메이션(흥분: M=3.99 SD=0.24, 세련됨: M=3.18, SD=0.29, 강인함: M=2.23, SD=0.26)에 비하여 높게 측정되어 제시된 자극물이 흥분, 세련됨, 강인함이라는 성격을 잘 드러냄을 확인 할 수 있었다. With the recent development of computer graphics technology, animation has been widely applied to the UI of applications. However, the researches on UI animation mainly focused on the technology to implement. The basic principles of animation such as 'Squash and stretch', 'Anticipation', and 'Follow through', have been applied as important principles expressing the character's personality in character animation. But, due to the usability issues in UI animation, it hasn't been studied much. The purpose of this study is to find out what relationship the personality expression applied to UI animation has with the brand image of the application. The principles of animation were reviewed to find out how to apply personalities in UI animation, and the brand images of an application were tested between the UI animations with personality and without it. As a result, the UI animation with personalities(excitement: M=5.19 SD=0.45, Sophistication: M=3.95, SD=0.46, Rouggedness: M=4.65, SD=0.52) is higher than the UI animation without personalities(excitement: M=3.99, SD=0.24, Sophistication: M=3.18, SD=0.29, Rouggedness: M=2.23, SD=0.26).

        시각문법에 기반한 모션그래픽디자인 학습체계 - 시간 구조와 모션 행위 요인을 중심으로 -

        본 연구는 시각디자인전공 2학년을 대상으로 하는 영상1 교육과정에 적용된 모션그래픽디자인 학습체계에 대한 연구이다. 시간 구조(Temporal Structure)와 움직임 행위요인(Motion Activities)이 반영된 시각 문법체계를 기반으로 하는 모션그래픽디자인 학습체계의 세부적 구성내용을 설명한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 모션그래픽디자인 학습체계는 시각문법 학습체계에 기반을 두고 있다. 이러한 체계 위에 요소와 요소, 요소와 공간의 관계성 요인, 요소와 시간과의 관계성 요인의 표현 효과를 경험하고 이해하는 것으로 확장하였으며 행위 과정에서 모션그래픽에 적합하게 깁슨(1954)의 움직임 유형으로 행위요인들을 배치하였다. 이 움직임 행위 요인들은 다시 라벤과 로렌스(1974)의 움직임 변인(Weight, Space, Flow, Time)으로 조절된다. 제안된 학습체계를 검증하기 위해 사전·후 비교를 진행하였다. 이에 ‘수업내용의 적절성’은 기존학습체계(M = 3.40, SD = 0.22)보다 제안된 학습체계(M = 4.60, SD = 0.36)가 학생들에게는 모션그래픽디자인 수업의 수업내용구성으로 적절하다고 인식되었다. This study is based on the motion graphic design learning system applied to the curriculum for the second year of visual design at the university. This study explains the direction and theoretical background of the proposed education system and examines the detailed components of the motion graphic design education system based on the visual grammar reflecting the Temporal Structure and Motion Activities. After that, the educational effect of the proposed motion graphic design education system is discussed. The motion graphic design education system is composed of understanding the learning problem and producing the statement of its own through hands-on practice to verify the relationship between the elements. Reflecting the proposed learning system. In the pre-post comparison, 'fitness of class contents' suggested by the proposed learning system (M = 4.60, SD = 0.36) was higher than the existing learning system (M = 3.40, SD = 0.22). It was found that the clear presentation of performance goals and structured learning system improved the students' satisfaction with learning.

      • Cold Hardiness, Proline Content, and Expression of P5CS and P5CR Genes among Peach Cultivars in Field Conditions

        Changes in cold hardiness were confirmed with relative electrolyte leakage (REL) method in the shoots of two peach cultivars (Prunus persica Janghowon Hwangdo and Odoroki) during cold acclimation and deacclimation. Changes in proline (Pro) content and related gene expressions were also analyzed. Particularly, transcript accumulations of P5CS and P5CR were examined using quantitative real-time RT-PCR. REL in the shoots of two peach cultivars was significantly different during the entire experimental period. Cold hardiness of two cultivars increased gradually to December 2012, and then decreased to April 2013, whereas Pro contents of ‘Janghowon Hwangdo’ and ‘Odoroki’ were reduced from the beginning of the experiment to February 2012 and then increased in the spring. Interestingly, P5CS gene encoding an enzyme, which catalyzes conversion from glutamic acid (Glu) into glutamic-γ-semialdehyde (GSA) in the first step of Pro pathway, showed the contrasting patterns with Pro contents of two cultivars. On the other hand, P5CR gene encoding an enzyme, which catalyzes conversion from Δ1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate(P5C)intoPro in the final step of Pro pathway, showed the similar patterns to Pro contents in two cultivars. Our results demonstrate that Pro responds negatively to low temperatures in the shoot of different peach cultivars, including the supplemental 10 peach cultivars, and expression of both P5CS and P5CR genes could show contrasting patterns from each other. Our results suggest that identification of both P5CS and P5CR genes are required necessarily for accurate analysis of Pro biosynthesis because Pro accumulation is affected more by expression of P5CR gene.

        Study on the Take-over Performance of Level 3 Autonomous Vehicles Based on Subjective Driving Tendency Questionnaires and Machine Learning Methods

        Level 3 autonomous vehicles require conditional autonomous driving in which autonomous and manual driving are alternately performed; whether the driver can resume manual driving within a limited time should be examined. This study investigates whether the demographics and subjective driving tendencies of drivers affect the take-over performance. We measured and analyzed the reengagement and stabilization time after a take-over request from the autonomous driving system to manual driving using a vehicle simulator that supports the driver's take-over mechanism. We discovered that the driver's reengagement and stabilization time correlated with the speeding and wild driving tendency as well as driving workload questionnaires. To verify the efficiency of subjective questionnaire information, we tested whether the driver with slow or fast reengagement and stabilization time can be detected based on machine learning techniques and obtained results. We expect to apply these results to training programs for autonomous vehicles' users and personalized human-vehicle interfaces for future autonomous vehicles.

      • Baseline characteristics of the autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease sub‐cohort of the KoreaN cohort study for outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease

        <P><B>ABSTRACT</B></P><P><B>Aim</B></P><P>The aim of this study was to describe the baseline characteristics of autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) in a cohort of Korean patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>From April 2011 to February 2016, patients with CKD stage 1–5 (pre‐dialysis) were enrolled as an ADPKD sub‐cohort of the KoreaN Cohort Study for Outcomes in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease. Baseline characteristics, the correlation of kidney and liver volume and kidney function and the factors associated with kidney function were analysed.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>A total of 364 ADPKD patients with a mean estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 68.1 ± 33.3 mL/min per 1.73 m<SUP>2</SUP> (50.5% male with a mean age of 47.0 ± 10.6 years) were enrolled from nine hospitals in Korea. Initially, 55.8% of the patients were asymptomatic, and pain was the most common symptom (12.9%); 87.6 and 77.5% of the patients had hypertension and hepatic cysts, respectively. The height‐adjusted total kidney volumes (htTKV) were higher in male patients than in female patients. In contrast, the height‐adjusted total liver volumes were higher in female patients than in male patients. The decrease rate of eGFR depending on Log(htTKV) was larger in the group aged between 41 and 50 years than the other age groups. Older age, a higher 24‐h urine protein excretion, larger htTKV and hyperuricemia were independently associated with lower eGFR, whereas using febuxostat was independently associated with higher eGFR.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>This sub‐cohort will provide clinical characteristics and outcomes of Korean ADPKD patients, which can be compared with those of other previous cohorts. We have identified factors associated with advanced‐stage CKD in Korean patients with ADPKD.</P><P><B>Summary at a Glance</B></P><P>This paper describes the clinical characteristics and outcomes of an underreported cohort of patients, namely, ethnic Koreans with ADPKD. Older age, proteinuria, larger height‐adjusted total kidney volume and hyperuricemia were independently associated with lower eGFR.</P>

      • Through-Silicon Via Capacitance–Voltage Hysteresis Modeling for 2.5-D and 3-D IC

        <P>We propose, for the first time, an explicit semiconductor physics-based through-silicon via (TSV) capacitance-voltage (CV) model. The effect of TSV CV hysteresis is demonstrated in the model, and the TSV capacitance is modeled with respect to dc bias voltage and the dimension of the TSV. The proposed model is verified by comparison to the measurement results. The effect of hysteresis in the model correlates well with the measurement results. This model can be utilized in a circuit level simulation to expand the possible application of the model to, but not limited to, hierarchical power distribution network impedance analysis, RC delay analysis, input-output power consumption analysis, and crosstalk and eye diagram simulation in any 3-D-IC systems using TSVs.</P>

      • HgTe Nanocrystal-Based Thin-Film Transistors Fabricated on Glass Substrates

        <P>HgTe nanocrystal-based thin-film transistors (TFTs) with Al<SUB>2 </SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> top-gate dielectrics were fabricated on glass substrates using sintered HgTe nanocrystals as the channel layers. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the fabrication of nanocrystal-based TFTs on glass substrates. Colloidal HgTe nanocrystal films were first formed on the glass substrates by spin-coating. The HgTe nanocrystal films were then sintered at 150 degC, leading to a dramatic increase in their conductance, compared with the as-deposited films. The TFTs fabricated in this letter exhibit the typical characteristics of p-channel transistors with a field-effect mobility of 1.04 cm<SUP>2</SUP>/Vmiddots, a threshold voltage of +0.2 V, and an on/off current ratio of 1times10<SUP>3</SUP>. These results suggest that spin-coating and sintering at a low temperature enable the simple and low-cost fabrication of nanocrystal-based TFTs on glass substrates</P>

      • The Establishment of a Standard SSR System Fitting for Pear Germplasm Management

        Pear (Pyrus spp.) is one of the most important temperate fruit species in the world. The identification of Pyrus spp. based on analysis and comparison of their phenotypes has been causing a number of synonyms and homonyms among Pyrus spp. For accurate identification, genotype analysis with molecular marker such as microsatellite is necessarily to use. However, It is difficult to share and compare of microsatellite profiles obtained among different laboratories because no effort has made to standardize equipment or protocols. A strategy for data comparison by dint of reference to the alleles detected in well-known cultivars will be helpful for co-work with laboratories and developing international databases. Thus the study was performed to compare results between laboratories of microsatellite DNA profiling for reproducibility and standardize allele scoring by defining reference alleles efficiently. In this study, ninety pear species including forty-four comparison Asian pears, six of comparison suspicious Asian pears and reference pears, seven basic pear species, and twenty-seven Korean native pear cultivars to development of a standard set of SSR reference alleles. Twelve primers covering most of pear genome were chosen, which are CH02b10, CH03g07, CH04e03, CH03d12, EMPc117, CH01f07a, EMPc11, CH01d09, GD147, CH01d08, CH05c06, and GD96 located in pear chromosome of 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 17 respectively. Genotyping was conducted with Fragment Analyzer. After genotyping, a set of defined standard alleles based on reference pear cultivars can facilitate data comparison among laboratories and will permit the improvement of a common international database.
