Objectives The aim of this case report is to suggest the effects of Bee-venom pharmacopuncture, acupoint of Pyung-Hyung acupuncture and MET treatment on improving the cervical pain and ROM restriction, Satisfaction of treatment in a 60-year-old male patient after whiplash injury. Methods Patient was treated with Complex Traditional Korean Medical Care of bee venom pharmacopuncture, Kyung-Tong(頸痛) acupoint of Pyung-Hyung Acupuncture(平衡鍼法) and MET treatment. Parmacopuncture was performed on pain site. MET treatment was performed on upper trapezius muscle, levator scapulae and sternocleidomastoid muscle. Patient’s symptom was evaluated by Range of motion(ROM), NRS(Numeric Rating Scale), Neck Disability Index(NDI) to check improvement in cervicalgia. Patient’s satisfaction was measured by five-point Likert scale. The treatment was executed once per everyday between March 7-13, 2022. Results After seven session of bee-venom pharmacopuncture, Pyung-Hyung acupuncture and MET method, patient’s ROM, NRS , NDI were improved. Conclusions The results show that Integrative Korean Medicine of pharmacopuncture, Pyung-Hyung Acupuncture and MET treatment can be an effective way to relieve cervicalgia with whiplash injury,
흉추 및 요추 골절의 장분절 척추 고정술 및 단분절 척추 고정술의 비교분석

연구계획 : 척추골절의 치료를 위한 내고정시 사용되는 장분절 고정과 단분절 고정의 임상적 결과 및 차이점을 알아보고자 후향적 연구를 계획하였다. 연구목적 : 장분절 고정술과 단분절 고정술 사이에 역학적 견고성과 골절의 정복력, 신경학적 회복 정도와 임상적 결과를 비교, 분석하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 1989년부터 1997년까지 척추의 외상 환자중 후방도달법에 의한 척추경나사못 고정술을 시행한 54명 을 대상으로 장분절 고정군과 단분절 고정군으로 구분하였고 단분절 고정술의 경우 골절된 추체에도 척추경 나사 못을 삽입하였다. 단분절 고정군은 35례로 평균 1년 8개월 추시하였고 장분절 고정군은 19례였으며 평균 2년 7개월까지 추시하였다. 결과는 단순 방사선사진에서 전방추체 높이의 변화, sagittal index, 및 신경학적 회복정도를 비교하여 평가하였다. 결과 : 장분절 고정군에서 전방추체 높이는 술전 50.7%, 술후 78.7%, 최종 추시상 74.9 %이었고, 단분절 고정군에서 는 각각 59.7%, 79.3%, 및 77.7 %로 통계학적 차이가 없었다. Sagittal index는 장분절 고정군에서 술전 17.5。, 술후 6.7。, 최종 추시상 8。였으며 단분절 고정군은 19.9。, 10.4。, 및 12.1。로 차이가 없었다. 다른 임상결과도 양군간의 차이 는 없었다. 신경증상이 발생한 36례중 22례에서 Frankel분류에서 1등급 이상의 회복이 있었다. 결론 : 흉요추 및 요추 골절의 수술적 치료시, 골절된 추체를 포함하여 상하위 1추체씩 고정하는 추경나사못 사용 단분절 고정술이 권장할 만한 수술방법으로 사료된다. Study design : A retrospective study was designed to evaluate the clinical result and difference between short segment and long segment fixation, which was undertaken by posterior approach for thoracic and lumbar spine fractures. Objective : To determine and compare the mechanical maintenance and ability of correction, and clinical and neurologic recovery between short segment and long segment fusion group. Summary of Background Data : The long segment instrumentation is a cause of decrease of motion segment in thoracic and lumbar spine. In short segment fusion, screw failures were reported. Materials and Methods : From 1989 thorough 1997, 54 patients who had been operated on by the posterior approach with transpedicular screw fixation for spine injuries were divided into two groups. The authors applied the short segment transpedicular instrumentation including fractured vertebra. Short segment group included 35 cases, and long segment group, 19 cases. The mean follow-up period was one year and eight months for short segment group, two years and seven months for long segment one. The results were evaluated by comparing the anterior vertebral height, sagittal index in simple roentgenogram and neurologic recovery. Results : The average of anterior vertebral height which was 50.7% at preoperation, became 78.7% after the operation and measured 74.9% at final follow-up in long segment fusion group, while in short segment fusion group it was 59.7%, 79.3% and 77.7%, respectively. The average of sagittal index of 17.5°at preoperation became 6.7°after the operation, and measured 8。 at final follow-up in long segment fusion group, while in short segment fusion group it was 19.9。, 10.4。, and 12.1。, respectively. Overall clinical results had no statistical significant difference between two groups. Of the thirty-six patients with neurologic deficits, twentytwo improved by over the one Frankel grade. Conclusions : The authors conclude that the short segment transpedicular instrumentation including fractured vertebra is a successful method of thoracolumbar and lumbar burst fractures.

Background: There is still unmet need in treating neuropathic pain and increasing awareness regarding the use of drug combinations to increase the effectiveness of treatment and reduce adverse effects in patients with neuropathic pain. Methods: This study was performed to determine the individual and combined effects of pregabalin, tianeptine, and clopidogrel in a rat model of neuropathic pain. The model was created by ligation of the L5-L6 spinal nerve in male Sprague–Dawley rats; mechanical allodynia was confirmed using von Frey filaments. Drugs were administered to the intrathecal space and mechanical allodynia was assessed; drug interactions were estimated by isobolographic or fixed-dose analyses. Results: Intrathecal pregabalin and tianeptine increased the mechanical withdrawal threshold in a dose-dependent manner, but intrathecal clopidogrel had little effect on the mechanical withdrawal threshold. An additive effect was noted between pregabalin and tianeptine, but not between pregabalin and clopidogrel. Conclusions: These findings suggest that intrathecal coadministration of pregabalin and tianeptine effectively attenuated mechanical allodynia in the rat model of neuropathic pain. Thus, pregabalin plus tianeptine may be a valid option to enhance the efficacy of neuropathic pain treatment.
Highly Thermal Conductive Alumina Plate/Epoxy Composite for Electronic Packaging

In this study, alumina plates 9~25 μm in size were used as thermal fillers, and epoxy resin was used as a polymer matrix. Oriented alumina plate/epoxy composites were prepared using a rolling method. The effect of ordering alumina plates increased with alumina plate size. The thermal conductivity and flexural strength of the composites were investigated. The horizontal thermal conductivity of the oriented composite was significantly higher than the vertical thermal conductivity. The horizontal thermal conductivity of the 75 wt% alumina content was 8.78 W/mk, although the vertical thermal conductivity was 1.04 W/mk. Ordering of the alumina plate using a rolling method significantly improved the thermal conductivity in the horizontal direction. The flexural strengths of the ordered alumina/epoxy composites prepared at different curing temperatures were measured.

MRE(magneto-rheological elastomers) is a material which shows reversible and various modulus in magnetic field. Comparing to conventional rubber vibration isolator, MREs are able to absorb vibration of broader frequency range. These characteristic phenomena result from the orientation of magnetic particles named carbonyl iron powder(CIP) in rubber matrix. In this paper, simulation on variation rate of shear modulus for anisotropic MRE due to volume fraction of CIP and an effective permeability model was applied to predict the field-induced shear modulus of MREs. Also, the variation rate of shear modulus for anisotropic MRE was derived using magneto-mechanical theory. Based on Maxwell-Garnett mixing rule, the increment of shear modulus was calculated to evaluate the shear modulus of MREs with column structure of CIP due to induced current. The simulation results on variation rate of shear modulus can be applied to the variable mechanical system of MRE such as tunable vibration absorber, stiffness variable bush and mount.
