        Turbo Molecular Pump(TMP) is a kind of vacuum pump for high vacuum applications, which is widely used in the semiconductor industry. Since TMP typically requires more than 30,000 rpm of rotational speed, magnetic bearing (MB) shows much better performance compared with the conventional mechanical bearing for TMP systems. MB holds its rotor without any mechanical contacts and it does not require any lubrication method. This makes MB adequate for ultra-high speed or clean environment applications like semiconductor FAB or aerospace industry. MB type TMP controller is organized with three parts, i.e., a MB controller, a motor driver, and a processor for controlling the whole system. We implemented a controller for a commercial TMP and succeeded to run the system up to 30,000 rpm of rotational speed.

        Trans-sphenoidal approach에 의한 pituitary microadenoma 수술 후의 임신 1례

        We treated a patient with pituitary microadenoma having hyperprolactinemia and irregular menstruation infertility by transsphenoidal microsurgery. Her menstrual cycle become irregular after marriage but previous menstrual cycle was regular. When she visited our hospital due to infertility, initial serum prolactine level was slightly elevated 35.68ng/ml, During bromecriptine therapy, abrupt increase of serum prolactine level up to 126.52 ng/ml and headache and facial flush and galactorrhea developed. Pituitary microadenoma was confirmed by CT and MRI. The patient underwent transsphenoidal microsurgery. Patient was pregnant after surgery, and it was confirmed by USG and she is following up, OPD now.

        학습장애 아동의 읽기이해력 향상을 위한 중심내용 파악 및 자기점검 전략 훈련의 효과

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a main idea strategy and self-questioning strategy training on reading comprehension of children with learning disabilities. The specific research questions examined in this study were (a) whether the main idea strategy training had an effect on children's ability to identify main idea, (b) whether the self-questioning strategy training had an effect on children's ability to generate questions, and (c) whether the main idea and self-questioning strategy training had an effect on children's reading comprehension including literal and inferential. The participants of the study included three fourth-grade children with learning disabilities. This study employed an multitreatment design(ABACAD) adapted from the single subject research. The results of the study were (a) the main idea strategy training improved the children's ability to identify main idea, (b) the self-questioning strategy training improved the children's ability to generate questions, and (c) the main idea and self-questioning strategy training improved children's literal and inferential reading comprehension. These results indicated that the reading strategy training employed in the study was an effective program for enhancing the reading comprehension of children with learning disabilities. 본 연구는 목적은 중심내용 파악 및 자기점검 전략 훈련이 학습장애 아동의 읽기이해력에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이었다. 연구 설계는 단일대상 연구 중 ABACAD 중다중재설계(multitreatment design)였다. 연구 대상은 초등학교 4학년 학습장애 아동 3명이었다. 실험은 8주 동안 총 40 회기에 걸쳐 실시되었다. 연구 결과, 중심내용 파악 및 자기점검 전략 훈련이 학습장애 아동의 읽기이해력 향상에 효과적이었다. 더불어, 중심내용 파악 전략 훈련은 중심내용 파악 능력을 향상시켰고, 자기점검 전략 훈련 역시 아동들의 자기점검 능력을 향상시켰다. 읽기이해력 하위 영역에 대한 검증 결과, 본 연구의 중재 프로그램은 사실적 이해력보다 추론적 이해력 향상에 더 효과적이었다. 연구 결과에 대한 논의와 결론이 제시되었다.

      • 두경부에서 생긴 림프종에서 EBV와 HTLV-1의 검색

        Background and Objectives : Extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL) of the head and neck(H&N) accounts for 10-20% of all cases of NHL. Despite their frequency, the cause of these lymphomas is still poorly understood. Recently, the role of viral origin in NHLs, including Epstein-Barr virus(EBV), as the main cause of sinonasal lymphomas of T/NK cell phenotype and HTLV-1 as a cause of acute T-cell lymphoma/leukemia has been well documented. We investigated the clinicopathologic findings, immunophenotypic profile, and status of EBV and HTLV-1 DNA of patients with H&N lymphoma. Materials and Methods : Twenty-seven patients with NHL of H&N region were studied. There were 15 males and 12 females with the median age of 50 years. All patients were reclassified according to the Working formulation(WF) and REAL classification. EBV genome DNA and HTLV-1 RNA were surveyed by PCR assay using formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue blocks. Results : The tonsil was the most commonly involved site(44.4%) followed by nasal cavity(18.5%), nasopharynx(18.5%) and orbit(7.4%). Immunophenotyping revealed 19 cases of B cell lineage, 7 cases of T cell lineage and one case of null cell type. Most of B-cell lymphomas were diffuse large cell lymphomas(58%). Tonsillar lymphomas were all B-cell origin. Four of the five nasal cavity lymphomas and one nasopharyngeal lymphoma showed an angiocentric T/NK cell phenotype with strong association with EBV. EBV genome was detected in 15 of 26 H&N NHLs(57.7%). Seven of 19 B-cell lymphomas(36.8%) and all T/NK or null cell type lymphomas were positive for EBV DNA. However, there was no HTLV-1 positive cases found. Conclusions : It could be concluded that the high incidence of EBV of angiocentric T/NK-cell lymphomas of the nasal cavity may indicate a probable role of EBV in the development of these lymphomas.

      • 물체의 3차원 복원을 위한 스테레오 정합에 대한 연구

        스테레오 영상 처리에 있어서 중요한 과정은 왼쪽 영상과 오른쪽 영상의 일치하는 화소를 찾는 스테레오 정합 과정 이다. 정합 방법에는 두 가지 방법이 있다. 한가지는 영역기반의 방법이며 다른 방법은 특징기반 방법이다. 영역기반 방법은 특정기반 방법에 비해서 연산 시간이 많이 소요되며, 특징기반 방법은 연산 시간에 있어서는 장점이 있지만 영상의 모든 화소에 대한 정합을 수행 할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 영역기반 스테레오 정합 방법으로 후보접합 방법을 제안하였다. 이 방법은 영상의 밝기 정보를 평판화 하고, 정합 후보를 찾은 후 상관도에 의한 방법으로 정합을 수행한다. 본 알고리즘의 효율성을 확인하기 위하여 몇가지 스테레오 영상에 대해서 실험하였다. The most important step in stereo image processing is stereo matching porcess which is conjugate pair of pixel finding process in the left and right image. There are two matching methods. The one is an area based approach and another is a feature based approach. An area based approach needs much calculation time than feature based approach and feature based approach has advantage in calculation time, but can not obtain matched data for all pixels in the image. In this paper, we propose a candidate matching algorithm. This method converts brightness data of image to equalized value and find candidates of matching and find matching point by correlation method. We experiment with some stereo images to validate effectiveness of this algorithm.

        반응표면 분석을 이용한 Salmonella enteritidis의 증식 효능 평가

        This stidy was performed to investigate the single and combined effect of concentrations of garlic juice according to the pH and temperature on the growth of Salmonella enteritdis in brain heart infusion broth, and to develope Response surface model for the effect of concentrations of garlic extract. The results of electric conductibility of Salmonella enteritidis growing in the range of incubation temperature (25~42℃), PH(5.5~9.0) and concentration of garlic juice(0~0.8%) showed that a badge with high low D.T.value and concentration of garlic extract were significantly with D.T.value and concentration of garlic extract were significantly correlated with D.T.value (p<0.01). Growth of Salmonella enteritidis in the condition of 37℃ and pH7.0 presented the lowest D.T.value.

        심상성 루프스에서 Nested-Primer Gene Amplification Assay에 의한 결핵균 DNA의 검출

        Lupus vulgaris, which is a progressive form of postprimary tuberculosis in patients with a moderate to high degree of immunity and tuberculin sensitivity, is the most common, most serious, and most variable type of cutaneous and mucous membrane tuberculosis. Domonstration of M.tuberculosis directly or in culture in some of these eruptions can be difficult. It is essential to demonstrate the presence of M.tuberculosis in a clinical sample for a definitive diagnosis of tuberculosis. With the discovery of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), the DNA diagnostic approach for infection has developed in a short period. With the dual purpose of definitive and rapid diagnosis of tuberculosis, this study examined the usefulness of a nested PCR for detection of M. turberculosis. Compared with a single-step PCR, the two-step PCR was able to enhance sensitivity approximately 1,000-fold on the basis of bacterial counts and DNA quantity. We concluded that two-step nested PCR appeared to be the most useful PCR protocol for early and sensitive diagnostic method detecting M.tuberculosis in acid-fast stain negative specimens.

        Graphite Felt Coated with Dopamine-Derived Nitrogen-Doped Carbon as a Positive Electrode for a Vanadium Redox Flow Battery

        <P>A new method for the direct fabrication of nitrogen-doped graphite felt has been developed, the study of which demonstrates that the felt is an excellent positive electrode for vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs). Nitrogen-doped graphite felt was synthesized by the controlled deposition of a thin layer of polydopamine on the surface of graphite felt followed by pyrolysis in an Ar atmosphere. Taking advantage of the versatile capabilities of the coating, as well as its high nitrogen content, dopamine was demonstrated to be an effective precursor for the preparation of nitrogen-doped graphite. The dopamine-derived graphite felt exhibited outstanding electrochemical performance when employed as a positive electrode in a VRFB. It exhibited 236% and 44% increased discharge capacity at a current density of 150 mA cm<SUP>−2</SUP> compared to pristine graphite felt and thermally oxidized graphite felt, respectively. The enhanced performance of the VRFB could be caused by the improved catalytic activity of dopamine-derived graphite felt, resulting from the formation of nitrogen functional groups active in the VO<SUP>2+</SUP>/VO<SUB>2</SUB><SUP>+</SUP> redox reaction and the increased specific surface area.</P>
