        The future society is expected to be rapidly change in all areas, that is, the length of change time is becoming much smaller than that of generation time. It is very important to prepare the citizens who possess scientific literacy which actively cope with the rapid changes and specialization of society. The sources of rapid changes may be due to the developments in science and technology. Therefore, the importance of science education will be increasingly high. Scientific literacy should be improved basically and systematically from the early stages of formal education. Teachers who are responsible to educate children should be able to research in the areas of science education as well as science itself, and to have capacity to transmit them to the classroom. To do this, the graduate course and the science education within the system beyond the level of college education are essential parts of teacher education. In the graduate course, it is important that science itself and pedagogy of science should be balanced.

      • High Endogenous Accumulation of ω-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids Protect against Ischemia-Reperfusion Renal Injury through AMPK-Mediated Autophagy in Fat-1 Mice

        <P>Regulated autophagy is involved in the repair of renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). Fat-1 transgenic mice produce ω3-Polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω3-PUFAs) from ω6-Polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω6-PUFAs) without a dietary ω3-PUFAs supplement, leading to a high accumulation of omega-3 in various tissues. ω3-PUFAs show protective effects against various renal injuries and it has recently been reported that ω3-PUFAs regulate autophagy. We assessed whether ω3-PUFAs attenuated IR-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) and evaluated its associated mechanisms. C57Bl/6 background fat-1 mice and wild-type mice (wt) were divided into four groups: wt sham (<I>n</I> = 10), fat-1 sham (<I>n</I> = 10), wt IRI (reperfusion 35 min after clamping both the renal artery and vein; <I>n</I> = 15), and fat-1 IRI (<I>n</I> = 15). Kidneys and blood were harvested 24 h after IRI and renal histological and molecular data were collected. The kidneys of fat-1 mice showed better renal cell survival, renal function, and pathological damage than those of wt mice after IRI. In addition, fat-1 mice showed less oxidative stress and autophagy impairment; greater amounts of microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3)-II, Beclin-1, and Atg7; lower amounts of p62; and, higher levels of renal cathepsin D and ATP6E than wt kidneys. They also showed more adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activation, which resulted in the inhibition of phosphorylation of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). Collectively, ω3-PUFAs in fat-1 mice contributed to AMPK mediated autophagy activation, leading to a renoprotective response.</P>

        팔로워십이 리더의 의사결정 방식에 미치는 효과 -LMX의 매개효과 검증-

        본 연구에서는 팔로워십이 리더의 의사결정방식 중 참여적 의사결정과 권한위임에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하며, 그 매커니즘을 밝히기 위해 LMX를 매개변수로 설정하고 있다. 기존 연구들을 살펴보면 팔로워십에 관한 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔으나 팔로워십이 리더에게 미치는 영향에 관한 연구는 찾아보기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 팔로워와 리더를 구분하는 가장 중요한 요인으로서 리더의 의사결정권을 상정하여 팔로워십이 이에 영향을 미칠 수 있는지를 알아보고자 한다. 즉 팔로워의 의사결정과정에의 참여는 리더의 의지에 달려있다고 보는 기존 관련 연구들과는 달리 본 연구에서는 리더가 팔로워의 행동(팔로워십)에 따라 팔로워를 의사결정과정에 참여시키거나 의사결정권을 팔로워에게 위임할 것이라는 가정에 기초하여 가설을 도출하고 있다. 연구결과 팔로워십 중 독립적·비판적 사고는 LMX와 참여적 의사결정, 권한위임에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 팔로워십 중 적극적 참여는 LMX를 매개로 참여적 의사결정에는 완전매개효과를, 권한위임에는 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 팔로워가 리더의 영향을 받기만 하는 수동적인 존재라는 기존의 시각과 반대되는 결과이다. 즉 팔로워는 리더의 영향을 받을 뿐만 아니라 리더에게도 영향을 미치는 주체적이고 능동적인 존재가 될 수 있다는 점을 시사하고 있다. This study aims to discuss how followership would influence these two particular leader’s decision-making methods, the participative decision-making and the delegation, and in order to learn about any mechanisms there, the study has selected LMX as a moderating variable. In the past, various investigations on followership were conducted and yet, they hardly talked about how followership affects the leaders. In the light of that, this study first determines the leader’s decision-making right as the most significant factor to separate followers from the leaders, and second, looks into chances of followership’s having an influence on the decision-making and the delegation of the leaders. In other words, while the past relevant researches were arguing that the followers’ participation in the decision-making process is determined by the leader’s voluntary willingness, this study goes differently from them as extracting hypotheses on the assumption that the followers’ behaviors (followership) would affect the leaders in relation to their inviting the followers to the decision-making process or delegating the decision-making right to the followers. According to the findings, of the followership, the independent and critical thinking does not have a significant influence on the LMX, the participative decision-making and the delegation. On the contrary, the study confirmed that with LMX applied as the moderating variable, the active participation of followership has a complete and a partial mediating effect on the participative decision-making and the delegation relatively. What this study came up with as above is considered opposite to the previous arguments on how always the followers are only being affected by the leaders which would make the followers passive individuals. As far as this study understood, when the followers get affected by the leaders, they can still become independent and proactive enough to influence the leaders vice versa.

        선형가속기의 선량율에 따른 쐐기필터의 선량분포

        이 연구는 금속쐐기필터를 대신하여 동적쐐기필터를 사용할 수 있을지에 대한 적정성 평가에 관한 것이다. 선형가속기에서 발생되는 엑스선 에너지는 6 MV, 10 MV로 상용화되어있다. 금속쐐기필터의 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°에 각각 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 선량율(MU/min)로 48번 조사하였고, 동적쐐기필터와의 비교를 위해 같은 조건으로 총 96번 조사하였다. 측정조건은 선원필름간 거리 100cm, 조사면 10×10cm 로 측정하였다. 현상된 필름을 스캔하여 선량분석프로그램으로 교정 후 분석하였고, 표준편차를 구해 선량율을 비교하였다. 동적쐐기필터는 선량, 산란선 및 치료시간을 감소시키며, 환자에 조사되는 선량이 적어 매우 유용하다. 동일한 조건에서 선량율에 따른 오차는 연관성이 없으므로 환자의 상황에 따라 고선량율의 치료를 사용하는 것도 가능할 것으로 생각된다. This study is aimed at assessing whether dynamic wedge filters are appropriate to be used instead of physical wedge filters. The X-ray energy generated from linear accelerator is commercialize 6 MV and 10 MV. 15°, 30°, 45°, and 60° of physical wedge filter was irradiated by dose rate 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 MU/min for each angle and for comparison with a dynamic wedge filter, irradiate 96 times under the same conditions. The measurement conditions are as 100 ㎝ source-film distance and 10 × 10 ㎝ irradiated surface. A developed film was scanned and analyzed after a calibration through a dose analysis program and the dose rate was compared after calculating the standard deviation. Dynamic wedge filters make dose, scattered rays and treatment time reduced and very useful due to less irradiated doses to patients. The errors at each dose rate under the same conditions were irrelevant. Thus, treatment based on a high dose rate depending on the patient is expected to be feasible.

        Fundamentally, beauty care is a stimulus of human sensibility. Based on artistry and craftsmanship, it evolves into an industry that encompasses various personal experiences and consumptions combined with esthetic design, impression, experiences and refinement. In timely response to such a change of consumers, it will be required that beauty care personnel try to co-develop and change with one another. It is expected that self-complacent beauty care workers will fail to keep up with and lag behind rapidly changing society and ever-diversified consumer needs in near future. That is why they will have to lead the way in the mastery of their own hair styling skills, the acquisition of relevant expertise, the creation of new fashions and the presentation of personality. In addition, it is important that they will have to take open-minded attitudes and ideas enough to embrace something new all the time. As a part of such efforts, many beauty care skill competitions or championships mean opportunities for beauty care workers to develop themselves. Beauty care championships is significant in a sense that it helps enhance creativity, strengthens competitive edges for practical works, and accelerates academic specialization in pursuit of beauty care culture under the influence of globalization. Thus, this study analyzes trend cutting as one of beauty care competition events in order to provide a guideline as a useful basic material for acquiring skills and knowledge. Hopefully, it is expected that the findings hereof will be useful as a reference material for analysis to estimate the mainstream and fashion of world beauty care.

        The National Beauty Design Competition is greatly conducive to developing technology and creativity in beauty artists, and brings about mental, physical and creative skills as well as emotional satisfaction. It is a point of time necessary for motivation through this competition in order to enhance beauty artists’ pride and to make the image of beauty artist respected by society. Also, the creation of this artistry will lead to being previously announced the unified harmony in the whole of beauty industry and the emergence of new trend. Accordingly, the Beauty Design Competition allows beauty artists' skill to be possibly exerted by having themes as new technique, color, theme, design, and originality by beauty artists. The trend, which is newly created through beauty contest, comes to create new style. Amid this change, the Beauty Design Competition for Hair World initiated diverse changes of Hair Fashion. This had great influence upon the whole of beauty and fashion industry. Especially this competition led to the development in beauty tools and implements, and the great contribution to development in beauty industry and cosmetics industry. The biggest performances include the positive change in people's awareness of beauty industry, and in image and stature of beauty artists, and what beauty came to be positioned as artistic field grandly in the middle of the world. The Beauty Design Competition is helpful for promotion of creativity, thereby allowing academic technique to be accelerated, which pursues beauty culture according to globalization as well as the strengthening of competitive edge in practical affairs. Accordingly, this researcher analyzes women’s fashion items out of beauty competition items, thereby making it become guideline for being used as basic data available for acquiring skill and knowledge, and desiring it to become analytical data available for predicting a flow and fashion in the global beauty.
