      • The Effect of Intelligent Product Types on Users’ Perception According to Usage Contexts

        Intelligent product is a product which is intellectualized with robotic technology and can be designed as behavior assistance type or behavior inducement type. In order to investigate an effective design method for an intelligent product, we explored the effect of intelligent product types on user’s perception according to usage contexts, which were either tedious and monotonous physical task or social consciousness related task. We executed two experiments to explore appropriate intelligent product types in each usage context. In the first study, we compared which type of intelligent products is suitable to the tedious and monotonous physical task. In the second study, we investigated a proper type of intelligent product in the usage context which is related to social consciousness. The results showed that in usage context related to tedious and monotonous physical task, the participants evaluated behavior assistance type is smarter, more useful and more positive, and also had stronger intention to purchase than behavior inducement type. By contrast, when the usage context of the intelligent product is related to social consciousness, the participants evaluated behavior assistance type is more useful and more positive, and also had stronger intention to purchase than behavior assistance type. These results suggested that for effective intelligent product design, designers need to consider intelligent product types along with usage context.

      • Domestic Violence and Depression: Self-Esteem and Social Support as Mediators

        Domestic violence has severe, long-lasting effect on individuals` mental health. However, it has also been noted that not all victims of domestic violence suffer from depression. To better understand such individual variation in response to domestic violence, the stress-coping model was postulated and the relationships among domestic violence, self-esteem (in two constructs), social support, and depression were examined in a sample of 2,477 men and women in Korea. Using structural equation modeling procedures, the study yielded following findings. Domestic violence had direct effect on depression while only two constructs of self-esteem, self-worth and self-deprecation had significant partial mediating effects on this domestic violence-depression relationship. Social support was found to be insignificantly related to both domestic violence and depression. Findings suggest that interventions targeting self-esteem, particularly the diminution of self-deprecation may be an effective way to assist domestic violence victims in coping with such negative experiences. Suggestions for future research and implications for social work are also discussed.

        Hyper Parameter Tuning Method based on Sampling for Optimal LSTM Model

        As the performance of computers increases, the use of deep learning, which has faced technical limitations in the past, is becoming more diverse. In many fields, deep learning has contributed to the creation of added value and used on the bases of more data as the application become more divers. The process for obtaining a better performance model will require a longer time than before, and therefore it will be necessary to find an optimal model that shows the best performance more quickly. In the artificial neural network modeling a tuning process that changes various elements of the neural network model is used to improve the model performance. Except Gride Search and Manual Search, which are widely used as tuning methods, most methodologies have been developed focusing on heuristic algorithms. The heuristic algorithm can get the results in a short time, but the results are likely to be the local optimal solution. Obtaining a global optimal solution eliminates the possibility of a local optimal solution. Although the Brute Force Method is commonly used to find the global optimal solution, it is not applicable because of an infinite number of hyper parameter combinations. In this paper, we use a statistical technique to reduce the number of possible cases, so that we can find the global optimal solution.

      • Depression and self-esteem: A longitudinal analysis

        There are two competing models explaining the causal relationship of depression and self-esteem, and they are cognitive vulnerability model and the scar model. Cognitive vulnerability model explains that low self-esteem poses as a risk factor for development of depressive symptoms/depression while the scar model asserts that the experiences of depression scars the cognitive function of individuals, resulting in negative self-perception. This study was set out to test two models on Korean adults, and to identify factors that are associated with depression and self-esteem relationship. The first four waves (wave 1~4) of the Korea Welfare Panel Study(KWPS) was used for analyses, and latent growth curve modeling was employed to examine the relationship. The findings show that the relationship was reciprocal, one affecting the growth trajectory of another over a four year period.

        이시이 바쿠의 무용교육활동 연구

        연구 목적: 이 연구는 이시이 바쿠의 무용교육활동을 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 연구방법은 문헌연구방법을 사용하였으며, 이시이 바쿠 자서전, 신문 및 잡지, 이시이 바쿠의 저작물을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 내용: 이 논문은 이시이 바쿠의 생애 및 무용이론, 지도자활동 중심으로 검토하였다. 결론 및 제언: 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이시이 바쿠는 일본의 근대화 과정에서 현대무용의 새로운 주류를 형성하는데 이바지 하였다. 둘째, 이시이 바쿠는 무용교재의 출판 등을 통해 무용이론가로서의 역량을 펼쳐 보였다. 셋째, 이시이 바쿠의 무용연구소를 통해 한일 양국의 많은 제자들이 배출되어 무용계의 발전에 이바지 하였다. 한국과 일본 무용계에 많은 영향을 미쳤던 이시이 바쿠 연구는 근대 무용연구에 있어서 중요하다고 볼 수 있기에 추후 이시이 바쿠의 다양한 활동에 관하여 연구가 진행되기를 바란다. The purpose of this study is to study Ishii Baku’s dance education activities. The research method used a literature research method, and analyzed using Ishii Baku autobiography, newspapers and magazines, and Ishii Baku’s works. The research contents of this paper were reviewed focusing on Ishii Baku’s life, dance theory, and leadership activities. The conclusion is as follows. First, Ishii Baku contributed to the formation of a new mainstream of modern dance in the modernization process of Japan. Second, Ishii Baku showed his capabilities as a dance theorist through the publication of dance textbooks. Third, through Ishii Baku’s Dance Research Institute, many disciples from both Korea and Japan were produced, contributing to the development of the dance world. The study of Ishii Baku, which had a great influence on the Korean and Japanese dance industries, can be considered important in modern dance research, so it is hoped that research on Ishii Baku’s various activities will be conducted in the future.

        한국 후천적 시각장애인의 우울과 영향요인에 관한 연구

        본 연구의 목적은 후천적 시각장애인에 대한 우울 실태와 이들의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하는 것으로 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 장애인실태조사 2014 자료를 활용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 연구대상자는 출생 1년 이후부터 시각 장애를 가지게 된 20~60세 사이의 성인이며 최종 분석에 포함된 대상자 수는 235명이다. 다중로지스틱회귀분석 실시 결과, 후천적 시각장애인의 약 20%가 우울증상을 경험한 것으로 나타났으며, 우울증상 경험을 예측하는 요인으로는 인구사회학적 요인 중에서는 연령, 성별, 결혼여부가 유의한 요인으로 나타났으며 건강 관련 요인으로는 흡연여부, 일상생활 스트레스 수 준, 주관적 건강상태가 유의한 요인으로 파악되었다. 장애관련 요인으로는 장애기간 및 일상생활 수행능력 수준이 유의한 예측요인으로 밝혀졌다. 종합적으로 본 결과는 국내 거주하는 후천적 성인 시각장애인의 많은 수가 우울과 같은 심리적 어려 움에 노출되어 있으며, 이를 위한 예방 및 개입 방안 마련이 시급함을 알려준다. 아직까지 장애인 복지 및 장애인 대상 서비 스 분야에서 이들에 대한 관심 및 서비스 마련이 미흡한만큼 추후 중도에 실명 혹은 시각손실을 경험하게 된 장애인에 대한 제도적인 고려가 요구된다. This study was designed to examine the depressive symptoms of individuals who became visually impaired and identify factors associated with the symptom. For the analysis, data from the Korean National Survey of Individuals with Disability 2014 was used. Adults between the ages of 20 and 60 years who became visually impaired after the first year of birth were included with a total of 235 individuals in the final sample. To identify the determinants of their depressive symptoms, a multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted. The results showed that about twenty percent of the respondents reported having depressive symptoms in the past year. Among the sociodemographic factors, age, gender, and marital status were identified as significant predictors, while smoking status, stress level, and self-reported health status were identified as important health-related predictors. Among the disability-related factors, the length of disability and activities of daily living level were found to be significantly associated with the likelihood of experiencing the symptom. The results indicate the need for practitioners working with visually impaired populations to be better aware of the risks of depression and develop a wide array of preventive measures and techniques to work with individuals suffering from depression.

        Filbertone, (2E)-5-methyl-2-hepten-4-one, regulates thermogenesis and lipid metabolism in skeletal muscle of a high-fat diet fed mice

        Filbertone, the principal flavor compound of hazelnuts, is known to have preventive effects against hypothalamic inflammation, obesity and adipocity in vitro and in vivo. However, the effect of filbertone in skeletal muscle remains unknown. In the present study, we determined the effect of filbertone in skeletal muscle of mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD). To identify the underlying molecular and cellular processes of filbertone, we performed whole transcriptome sequencing in skeletal muscle. The muscle transcriptome analysis revealed that the upregulated differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in filbertone-fed mice were substantially associated with several pathways including thermogenesis, fatty acid degradation, oxidative phosphorylation, and branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) degradation. Furthermore, the expression level of thermogenic genes such as uncoupling protein 1 (Ucp1; p < 0.05), cell death-inducing DNA fragmentation factor alpha-like effector A (Cidea; p < 0.05), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (Ppara; p < 0.05) and lipid droplet-associated protein genes such as Plin3 (p < 0.05), Plin4 (p < 0.05), and Plin5 (p < 0.05) were significantly upregulated in muscle tissue of HFD with filbertone fed mice compared to HFD only fed mice. Filbertone also elevated the protein level of UCP1 (p < 0.05) and PPARα (p < 0.05). In addition, filbertone reduced the accumulation of intracellular lipids in C2C12 myotubes (p < 0.05). On the basis of these results, we suggest that filbertone has a crucial effect in the regulation of muscle lipid metabolism and energy balance.

        하이브리드 애드 혹 네트워크에서의 에너지 효율성을 고려한 라우팅 알고리즘

        최근 언제 어디서나 고품질의 인터넷 서비스 이용에 대한 필요성이 증가함에 따라, 인터넷 또는 셀룰러 망과 같은 기반 망과 연동된 하이브리드 애드 혹 네트워크에 대한 연구가 중요해지고 있다. 이러한 통합 네트워크는 홈 네트워크, 텔레매틱스, 센서 네트워크 분야 등에서 사용자 요구에 부합하는 다양한 종류의 서비스 제공이 가능해진다. 그러나 무선 이동 네트워크에서 불안정한 링크에 의한 전송 거리와 전송 대역폭 및 이동 노드의 배터리 제약은 대용량의 실시간 데이터 처리를 요구하는 서비스의 원활한 제공을 어렵게 만든다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기반 망에서 제공하는 인프라를 활용하여 에너지 효율성을 고려한 클러스터 기반의 계층적 라우팅 기법을 제안한다. 인덱스 기반의 브로드캐스팅 기법을 적용한 경로 전달 모델을 통해 노드가 필요한 정보만을 선택적으로 청취함으로써 불필요한 에너지 손실을 줄인다. 또한, 경로 탐색 및 유지비용과 경로 설정에 필요한 지연시간을 줄였다. Currently, as the requirement for high quality Internet access from anywhere at anytime is consistently increasing, the interconnection of pure ad hoc networks to fixed IP networks becomes increasingly important. Such integrated network, referred to as hybrid ad hoc networks, can be extended to many applications, including Sensor Networks, Home Networks, Telematics, and so on. We focus on some data communication problems of hybrid ad hoc networks, such as broadcasting and routing. In particular, power failure of mobile terminals is the most important factor since it affects the overall network lifetime. We propose an energy-efficient routing protocol based on clustering for hybrid ad hoc networks. By applying the index-based data broadcasting and selective tuning methods, the infra system performs the major operations related to clustering and routing on behalf of ad hoc nodes. The proposed scheme reduces power consumption as well as the cost of path discovery and maintenance, and the delay required to configure the route.
