The Role of Environmental Education in Increasing Potential Green Consumers
Hyein WOO(Hyein WOO) 동아시아경상학회 2023 The East Asian Journal of Business Economics Vol.11 No.1
Purpose – The prior literature indicated that green consumerism encouragements and programs have led to strict standards against environmental issues, thus reducing emissions from motors and engines and improving cleanburning energy options. The present study seeks to elaborate on the responsibility of ecological education in amplifying potential green consumers. Research design, Data, and methodology –The justification of the qualitative literature method used in this research is essential because, through the extensive explanation, justification and description of the methods used, researchers can enhance the trustworthiness of the research to a particular or designated audience. Result – Environmental education helps customers worldwide recognize the barriers to purchasing green products at every purchase level. Prior studies pointed out that after environmental education, consumers are much more willing to go greener in their consumption and safeguard the environment. Customers want to act green; however, they anticipate companies to lead the way. Conclusion – This research suggests that reusing prevailing resources creatively implies that fewer dollars are spent buying novel stock to generate green products. Although establishing a green company is expensive, it saves a lot of cash over time. Greening procedures can lead to efficiency gains by minimizing energy costs, permitting companies to acquire green tax credits.
A Study on the History of Environmental Policy in South Korea
Hyein WOO(Hyein WOO) 한국한류학회 2022 한류연구 Vol.1 No.2
International negotiation and cooperation for sustainable development currently emphasize three themes on which environmental policies are developed. South Korea emphasizes two of the three themes; climate change and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. South Korea has taken a leadership role in the international arena regarding these topics, actively participating in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the negotiations for the 2030 Agenda (Jung, 2018). South Korea has taken a number of steps to address climate change, both domestically and internationally. Domestically, it has implemented several policies and methods to lessen GHG emissions and transition to a low-carbon economy. It has implemented an Emissions Trading Scheme, the largest in the world, a renewable energy portfolio standard, and aimed at accomplishing carbon neutrality by 2050. South Korea is also actively involved in executing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has established a national committee to ensure their successful implementation. The group is made up of representatives from the private sector, government ministries, and civil society organizations. It is focused on monitoring the progress of the SDGs and providing policy and financial support for their implementation.
The Historical Paradigm of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Korea
Hyein WOO(Hyein WOO) 한국한류학회 2023 한류연구 Vol.2 No.1
This study will provide an overview of the development of ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CSR) in South Korea throughout time, as well as its sources of inspiration and recommendations. The study will also rely on the body of existing research to provide insights into the present condition of CSR in the nation and the measures launched to promote socially responsible practices in the corporate environment. As a result, it will act as a crucial dedication to comprehending corporate social responsibility within the Korean environment. According to the searching results in the literature content dataset, there has been total four historical paradigm of CSR in South Korea, such as (1) Adoption of the CSR principles, (2) Introduction of the Korean Association of Social Responsibility, (3) The Seoul Environmental Charter, (4) The Board of Audit and Inspection Intervention. Based on the results of the current study, the present author could conclude that ingrained corporate social responsibility (CSR) is in Korean business culture, which has been promoted since the 1920s. Businesses can benefit by using the guidelines offered by the CSR Promotion Act and related activities to uphold their responsibilities towards society and the environment, overviewing comprehensively CSR advancement in South Korea from the 1920s to the display day.

Alcohol abuse is one of the health risk factors worldwide. It is known that the presence of alcoholic liver disease (ALD) has the greatest correlation with alcohol consumption. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted to investigate the alcohol consumption and nutritional status of ALD patients among Korean adults. A total of 156,790 subjects, 2,226 (1,921 males, 305 females) in the ALD group, and 154,564 (50,593 males, 103,971 females) in the normal group were included in the final analysis. Alcohol and nutrient intakes were assessed using a validated food frequency questionnaire. The ALD was defined as heavy alcohol consumption (male >40 g/day, female >20g/day) and elevated level in the liver function test. It was confirmed that ALD patients exhibited a higher total alcohol intake, the proportion of heavy drinkers, and increased total energy intake compared to the normal group, and tended to lack micronutrient intake through dairy and plant-based foods. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended to reduce the amount and frequency of alcohol consumption and to consume sufficient vitamins and minerals through dairy and plant-based foods for patients with ALD.

<P>Pulsed latches, latches driven by a brief clock pulse, offer the same convenience of timing verification and optimization as flip-flop-based circuits, while retaining the advantages of latches over flip-flops. But a pulsed latch that uses a single pulse width has a lower bound on its clock period, limiting its capacity to deal with higher frequencies or operate at lower <I>Vdd</I>. The limitation still exists even when clock skew scheduling is employed, since the amount of skew that can be assigned and realized is practically limited due to process variation. For the first time, we formulate the problem of allocating pulse widths, out of a small discrete number of predefined widths, and scheduling clock skews, within a predefined upper bound on skew, for optimizing pulsed latch-based sequential circuits. We then present an algorithm called <I>PWCS_Optimize</I> (pulse width allocation and clock skew scheduling, PWCS) to solve the problem. The allocated skews are realized through synthesis of local clock trees between pulse generators and latches, and a global clock tree between a clock source and pulse generators. Experiments with 65-nm technology demonstrate that combining a small number of different pulse widths with clock skews of up to 10% of the clock period yield the minimum achievable clock period for many benchmark circuits. The results have an average figure of merit of 0.86, where 1.0 indicates a minimum clock period, and the average reduction in area by 11%. The design flow including <I>PWCS_Optimize</I>, placement and routing, and synthesis of local and global clock trees is presented and assessed with example circuits.</P>
Characteristics of Epilepsy in Children with Cerebral Palsy: A Single Tertiary Center Study
Hyein Yeo,한지윤,Jee Min Kim 대한소아신경학회 2023 대한소아신경학회지 Vol.31 No.4
Purpose: The aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of epilepsy in cerebral palsy (CP) patients and identify risk factors for epilepsy and drug-resistant epilepsy. Methods: CP patients aged 18 years old or younger who visited the pediatric neurology department and/or rehabilitation department of a tertiary care hospital between January 2016 and December 2022 with a minimum follow-up period of 2 years were included. Demographic and clinical data, seizure characteristics, brain imaging, electroencephalography, and genetic evaluation results were reviewed retrospectively. Results: Among 268 patients included in this study, 36.9% had epilepsy and 10.8% had drug-resistant epilepsy. Asphyxia (29.3%), hemorrhage, infarction, and brain infection (25.3%) were associated with epilepsy. Epileptic CP patients were more likely to experience neonatal seizures (18.2% vs. 4.1%, P<0.001) and febrile seizures (12.1% vs. 7.1%, P=0.02) than non-epilepsy CP patients. The most common cerebral subtype in patients with epilepsy was spastic quadriplegia (59.6%). Epilepsy patients were more severely impaired in gross motor function, with worse intellectual disability. Patients with macrocephaly or cerebral malformation were more likely to have drug resistance. Valproate (51.7% and 25.7%) and levetiracetam (41.4% and 25.7%) were the two most commonly used antiseizure medications, both in monotherapy and polytherapy. Conclusion: A history of asphyxia, febrile seizure, neonatal seizure, spastic quadriplegia, more severely impaired gross motor function, and intellectual disability were found to be risk factors for epilepsy. Further research with prospective data collection to develop a model for predicting seizures or epilepsy in CP patients is needed.
