      • 1880년대 陸用鼎(1843~1917)의 현실인식과 東道西器論

        Yuk Yong Jeong was a person who dedicated himself to a lifetime of hermitage, and also to personal studies honoring his family tradition. He is not that well known to the researchers today, yet his studies and philosophies seem to be worth examining. He gathered vast information of the Western world through Seohak/西學 books which were being introduced to the Chinese people. The <Euijeon Gisul/宜田記述> he authored was based on the knowledge and information gathered in such fashion. This book contains critical views and perspectives toward the society at the time, and echoes the arguments of Park Eun Shik and other figures who supported the idea of Redefining the traditional Confuciantist philosophies. Yet this embodiment of his thoughts and philosophies also lack a sense of direction, and does not seem to be able to forward any viable options to remedy the social problems pointed out by the author himself. As an intellect, he was very disturbed by the Western forces' advance to the Asian societies, but he also supported the idea of Gaehwa/開化, which meant opening the nation to the outer world, as an effective way to counteract the Western threat. It was also one of the characteristics of his thoughts that be at the same time supported yet also blamed both the ideas of Gaehwa and the ideas opposing that concept. Such thoughts of his ultimately led to his believing in the Dongdo Seogi philosophies/東道西器論, which supported the acception of Western techniques and industrial facets, while also maintaining efforts to protect essential qualities of the Eastern Worlds. This philosophy was originally suggested by intellectual figures such as Shin Gi Seon/申箕善 and Kim Yun shik/金允植 during the 1880s, and abiding by that basci guideline has been accepted as the official position of the government(under King Gojong's/高宗 reign) in terms of dealing with the Gaehwa issue. Yuk Yong Jeong's own view of the Dongdo Seogi philosophy also had some unique characteristics, like introducing the Sang/常 and Byeon/變 concepts in interpreting the status of realization of the Dongdo concept(the Eastern essence) inside the real world, or emphasizing the importance of character building which should be achieved by unwavering and continuous efforts, or maintaining relatively objective opinions toward the Western world, without unnecessary contempt or blind praise. His thoughts do represent one of the many facets that the Dongdo Seogi philosophy had featured at the time.

        Hyaluronic Acid Fibres in Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis - Their Properties, Morphology and Stability

        Different methods and materials can be used for peptide synthesis. One of the most common approaches issynthesis on a solid phase. In this paper, we describe fibres based on hyaluronic acid (HA) and their properties under solidphasepeptide synthesis (SPPS) conditions. The fibres were prepared by wet spinning technology and were used to study theirstability and mechanical properties under the reaction conditions for direct peptide synthesis or conjugation with apre-synthesized peptide. Fibres in the form of a non-woven textile were then used as a proof of concept for the adhesion ofcells on short cell-adhesion peptides. The methods, solvents and reaction conditions used showed no significant influence onthe necessary stability of the HA fibres when the Fmoc/tBu strategy was applied. Furthermore, the stability of the HA fibresin aqueous solution was strongly improved. The stabilization and presence of cell-adhesive peptides supported the adhesionof cardiomyocyte cells, which confirmed the functionality of the modified textile. Therefore, HA carriers bearing peptidescould be advantageously employed in various biomedical applications as repair patches.

        Nonlinear models of the dependence of nitrate concentrations on the pumping rate of a water supply system

        The aim of this paper is to analyse the influence of a groundwater pumping rate on nitrate concentrations at the Bartolovec wellfield, which is part of a water supply system of the town of Varaždin, Croatia. Over the past 16 years both the pumping rate and nitrate concentrations have increased at the wellfield. The nonlinear models that describe the pumping rate to nitrate concentration levels were developed on the basis of Logistic, Gompertz, and Richards growth functions. For each function, three different types were established regarding the initial lower contamination limit parameter. The conditions that models have to meet were defined and their reliability was established. The models were implemented on the experimental data collected during the period under consideration. The models were validated and mutually compared using Akaike’s Information Criteria (AICc), while the data fitting was estimated by using a coefficient of determination. After the results were obtained by using different models, they were compared to the maximum allowable nitrate concentrations (MAC) in water for human consumption. The dependence of nitrate concentrations on a pumping rate was confirmed and the reliable model for nitrate concentration on pumping rate was created. The model was calibrated and tested on the experimental data. The model exhibits asymptotic behavior and result shows that with the further increase in the pumping rate of groundwater drainage at the Bartolovec wellfield, nitrate concentrations will not exceed the MAC value providing there are no new sources of contamination in the zone of a pollutant influence.

        Lactobacillus Strains Alleviated Aging Symptoms and Aging-Induced Metabolic Disorders in Aged Rats

        Aging is an inevitable and ubiquitous progress that affects all living organisms. A total of 18 strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were evaluated on the activation of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), an intracellular energy sensor mediating lifespan extension. The cell-free supernatant (CFS) of Lactobacillus fermentum DR9 (LF-DR9), Lactobacillus paracasei OFS 0291 (LP-0291), and Lactobacillus helveticus OFS 1515 (LH-1515) showed the highest activation of AMPK and was further evaluated. The phosphorylation of AMPK by these three LAB strains was more evident in U2OS and C2C12 cells, compared to the other cell lines and control (P < .05). Using premature senescent Sprague-Dawley rats induced by D-galactose (D-gal), the administration of LAB (10 log CFU/rat/day) for 12 weeks prevented the shortening of telomere length in D-gal-treated rats compared to the untreated control (P < .05). LF-DR9 lowered gene expression of p53, a known senescent biomarker, in gastrocnemius muscle and tibia compared to the control. The selected LAB strains also enhanced lipid, renal, and liver profile of rats, suggesting added potential of the strains in preventing aging-induced metabolic diseases. Strain LP-0291 and LH-1515 showed ability to adhere to mucin, no antibiotic resistance, tolerated and proliferated under gastric and intestinal simulated conditions, and inhibited the growth of pathogens Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, comparable to commercial probiotic LF-DR9 and Lactobacillus sakei Probio 65. This study provided an insight into the potential of LAB for exhibiting antisenescence effects, with potentials as new medicinal foods for targeted antiaging therapies.

        看話禪(간화선)과 華嚴敎(화엄교)의 비교 연구

        본고는 간화선과 화엄교의 사상과 수행법을 비교하여, 양자가 서로 차별적 우위를 논한 갈등양상을 보여 왔으나 상통성 또한 없지 않음을 밝힌 것이다. 특히 양자의 특징적인 수행법인 화두참구와 보현관행 역시 깨달음에 이르고 중생교화하는 방편임에 초점을 맞추어 고찰하였다. 화두참구에 있어서 선지식의 수많은 해탈법문이 공안이라면, 화엄행자의 구체적인 보현관행은 활구화두가 된다고 하겠다. 공안에서 화두를 간택하지만 간화행자에게 공안이 다 활구화두는 아닌 반면, 보현관행이 화엄행자에 따라서는 깨달음에 이르는 지름길이 된다. 화두삼요가 대신심·대분심·대의단이라면, 신해심·행원력·지혜심(현전지견)은 관행삼요라 할 수 있다. 이 지혜심은 여래성기구덕심의 일체지를 발현시키는 문수대지이다. 활구화두로 견성한 것이 불성을 드러낸 현성이듯이, 여래성 일심을 관조하여 여래지를 발현시킨 것이 성기이다. 화엄교의 보현관행은 중생계가 다하도록 이어지는 동체대비의 오후수이며, 간화선은 대혜도 늘 강조하듯이 일용득력을 중시한다. 보현행을 여의지 않는 화두참구와 내증과 외화가 둘이 아닌 보현관행은 불일불이로서 무애자재함을 볼 수 있다. This paper has revealed to conflicts aspects about differential discussed between them but they have intercommunication after comparing the thought and practice of Ganhwa Seon and Hwaeom Thought. Especially, this paper were investigated with a focus of expedient method that their characteristic methods of practice of a seek topic and Samantabhadra`s contemplation and action. If numerous Dharma`s Liberation is the Gongan as a seek topic, the specific Samantabhadra`s contemplation and action of Hwaeom practitioner may be a living topic. Samantabhadra`s contemplation and action becomes a shortcut way according Hwaeom practitioner. If three elements of a topic can be a great devout disposition, a great inflexible resolve and a great doubt resolution, faith and interpretation determination, action and vow`s mind and wisdom mind can be three elements of Samantabhadra`s contemplation and action. This wisdom mind is Manjusri who generates all wisdom of fully spreading mind of Buddha`s virtue. Like enlightenment by a living topic is as real appearance, arising of buddha`s wisdom to seek a mind of buddha`s nature is arising from the primal nature. Samantabhadra`s contemplation and action of Hwaeom Thought is enlightenment after practice of feeling and compassion as the same nature as oneself until sentient beings world disappears and Ganhwa Seon as always emphasized great mercy think to important to the usual realization. A seek topic that is not over rely on and Samantabhadra`s contemplation and action that is not two between inward enlightenment and outward enlightenment are not separate can see non impeding untrammeled freedom as neither the same as nor different from.
