      • Oil Contents and Fatty Acid Composition of Korean Perilla (Perilla ocimoides L.) Collections

        This study was carried out to obtain informations on the variations of oil content and fatty acid composition among 90 Korean perilla collections. Average oil content of 90 perilla collections was 44.2% with a range from 29.7% to 61.9%. Perilla collections with late-maturing, super-large seed and gray seed coat showed higher oil content than other types in general. Average saturated fatty acid content in perilla oil was 9.0% with a range from 8.2% to 10.7%, while average unsaturated fatty acid content varied from 89.3% to 91.8% with a mean of 91.0%. Contents of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids were not related to maturity. There were no differences in the contents of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids according to maturity. Linoleic acid and linolenic acid contents were the highest in the super large-sized group(15.5%) and in the large-sized seed group(61.4%), respectively, while contents of fatty acids among the perilla collections were variable with different seed coat colors. Most of the traits studied were not significantly correlated with oil content, but linoleic acid($\omega$ 수식 이미지-6) content was negatively correlated (r=-0.217*) with linolenic acid(ω-3) content.

      • 김치에서 분리한 Lactobacillus sp. JC-7과 Lactobacillus acidophilus 88간의 Electrofusion 최적조건 설정

        김치 발효 숙성기간을 연장하고 신선도를 오랫동안 유지 할 수 있는 김치발효 starter의 개발을 목적으로 최적숙성기에 있는 김치로부터 bacteriocin생성능이 없는 유산균을 분리하여 동정하였으며, bacteriocin생성능이 우수한 L.acidophilus 88을 융합시키기 위해 electrofusion에 대한 최적 조건을 검토하였다. 분리균주는 Lactobacillus속으로 동정되어 Lactobacillus sp. JC-7이라 명명하였다. Electrofusion에 의해 생성된 융합주를 식별하기 위해 streptomycin(2.5㎎/ml)에 내성을 나타내는 Lactobacillus sp. JC-7변이주와 kanamycin(600㎍/ml)에 내성을 나타내는 L.acidophilus 88변이주를 분리하였다. Electrofusion을 100V/㎝, 120msec(72ohms,1670 capacitance) 에서 수행했을 때 융합효율이 가장 양호하였으며 전기장의 세기와 시간이 중가할수록 융합 효율이 현저히 감소하였다. 2가 양이온은 농도가 중가할수록 대체적으로 융합효율을 감소시키는 경향을 나타내었으나 1mM MGCl_2에서는 대조군에 비해 융합효율이 약간 증가하였다. PEG매개에 의한 융합법의 융합효율을 비교한 결과, 융합효율은 chemical fusion<electrofusion<electrofusion+20% PEG순을 나타내었다. Evaluation of Optimum Conditions for the Electrofusion between Lactobacillus sp. JC-7 Isolated from Kimchi and Lactobacillus acidophilus 88. Young-Bae Jo, Hyun-Jung Choi, Hyung-Suk Baik and Hong-Ki Jun*. Department of Microbiology, Pusan National University, Pusan 609-735,Korea-A lactic acid bacterium was isolated from kimchi. The isolated strain was identified as the genus Lactobacillus thrugh its morphological characteristics and named as Lactobacillus sp. JC-7. The optimum conditions for the electrofusion between streptomycin(2.5㎎/ml)resistant mutant of Lactobacillus acidophilus 88 and kanamycin(600㎍/ml) resistant mutant Lactobacillus sp. JC-7 were evaluated. The highest number of fusants were obtained at a capacitance value of 120msec(1670㎌), a field strength of 100V/㎝,and a pulse controller setting of 72Ω. The potimum pH of elecroporation buffer was 7.5 and the concentration of divalent cation was 1mM MG^2+. Electrofusants were efficiently obtained by addition 20% polyethylene glycol to electroporation buffer. The yield of fusion was better than that of using polyethylene glycol mediated chemical induction.

        Storage stability of UV curable unsaturated polyester was studied in accordance with synthesis process and inhilitor charging. When resin was synthesized at 160∼170℃, storage stability was mainly influencd by reaction time. THQ showed best storage stability among inhibitors. Appropriate charge of THQ was 150ppm in initial of first reaction, 350ppm in initial of second reaction and 350ppm in SM thinning.

      • 동아의 체중조절 효과

        본 연구에서 선발된 17종의 천연물을 Sprague- Dawley rat에 급여한 결과, 체중 증가, 에너지 소비, fat pads 중량, 간의 triglyceride 함량, atherogenic index 그리고 혈중 글루코오스의 함량 등이 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 동아를 구강으로 섭취시킨 결과, 체중 증가, 에너지 소비, fat pads 중량, 그리고 혈중 글로코오스의 함량등이 감소하였으나, 간의 triglyceride 함량은 오디와 송엽의 열수 추출물보다 적게 감소하였다. 동아, 오디, 그리고 송엽을 혼합하여 사용한 결과, 각각의 원료를 사용할 경우보다 비만이 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. This study attempted to evaluate the effectiveness of function of Wax Gourd for obesity and the related disease of adult people can be developed by the combination of the 17 food materials screened in this study. The experiments using Sprague-Dawley male rats show that seventeen kinds of food material inhibited the increase of body weight gain, energy intake, fat pads weight, liver triglycerides content, atherogenic index, and blood glucose concentration induced by cafeteria diet. Oral administration of wax gourd decreased most body weight gain, energy intake, fat pads weight, and blood glucose concentration induced by cafeteria diet. Oral administration of wax gourd decreased most body weight gain, energy intake, fat pads weight, and blood glucose concentration. Liver triglycerides content was the lowest in the group administered mulberry stem extract and the group administered pine leaves showed the lowest atherogenic index. The combined administration of wax gourd, mulberry stem extract and pine leaves improved more the obesity and related symptoms than the individual administrations.

        The effects of stoichiometry(x) and substrate temperature(T_(s)) on SiOx/S_(1)O_(2) multilayers(MLs) have been systematically investigated during their growth by reactive ion beam sputter deposition, The photoluminescence(PL) spectra of the post-annealed samples are strongly correlated with the formation of S_(1) nanocrystals in the MLs, which is confirmed by high resolution transmission electron microscopy. These results suggest that T_(s) and x play an important role for the visible PL attributed to the quantum confinement effect of S_(1) nanocrystals.

        우리가 평균치 μ와 σ^2을 가지며, 또 단위 구간 위에서 매개변수 p를 가지는 이산분포 P_r(k)를 생각할 때, Weierstrass 정리에 의하여 몇몇 통계적 법칙을 하는 다항식을 일양적으로 접근시킬 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 고전적인 형태의 번스타인 다항식을 확장시켜, 모든 이산 확률 분포에 적용했으며, 그 결과로 두 가지의 정리를 증명하였다. 즉, B_n(p)=◁그림 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요) P_r(k)가 임의의 이산 확률 변수를 갖는 번스타인 다항식의 고전적인 형으로 주어진다는 가정 하에서, (Ⅰ)만일 확률 변수 f(k/n)가 이산 확률 분포 P_r(k), r=0, 1, 2, ……r.의 연속 함수 p^r에 수렴한다면, 가중치 P_r(k)를 갖는 B_n(p)는 P_r(k)의 표본 적률에 수렴함.(Ⅱ) 확률 분포 P_r(k)의 B_n(p)에 있어서 확률 변수 f(k/n)가 0, 1/n, 2/n…의 값을 취할 때, P_r(k)의 표본 평균치와 표본 분산을 가지는 정규 목표를 함을 증명할 수가 있다. 예로써, Feller[2]가 제시한 다항식을 부의 이항 분포를 이용하여 위의 정리가 성립함을 보였다.

      • 메탄올차량 배기가스 제거용 촉매의 저온활성에 관한 연구

        As the major methanol fueled vehicle exhaust components, formaldehyde & methanol conversion over the existing commercial 3-way catalyst was examined in a labolatory flow reactor system. The tested catalyst system were modified silver catalysts which contains different Ag loadings on commercial 3-way catalyst, and german commercial catalysts for methanol engine exhaust manufactured by Engelhard co. Ltd. Silver catalysts were prepared by the wet impregnation of silver nitrate solution on commercial 3-way catalyst. These catalysts were characterized with BET and PSD. In general, the formaldehyde(HCHO) conversion of the tested catalysts was similar to that of methanol(CH3OH). At 100,which is equivalent to the cold start condition, 5 wt% Ag cat. showed the most excellent HCHO and CH3OH conversion. The order of activity for conversion of HCHO & CH30H to carbon dioxide and water vapor was as follows; 5 wt% Ag/3-way cat. > 2 wt% Ag/3-way cat.>german cat. l(front)>german cat. 2(rear)>l0 wt% Ag/3-way cat.>3-wat catalyst. However there was no significant activity difference between those tested catalysts in the hot run condition of 400. Therfore, it could be concluded that the Ag-modified 3-way catalyst was the most effective and practical catalyst system which could be capable of removal the HCHO and methanol at the special condition of low temperature such as cold start condition.
