        Song Jun-gil's Neo-Confucianism

        同春堂宋浚吉(1606―1672)是17 世紀韓國著名禮學家和政治家, 同時亦是朝鮮朝后期韓國性理學的主要代表人物之一。作爲栗谷先生的再傳弟子, 在韓國儒學史上他與同屬畿湖學派尤庵宋時烈(1607-1689)幷稱爲“兩宋”先生, 具有重要的歷史地位和影響。身爲畿湖學人他還與以退溪爲宗匠的嶺南學人保持密切聯系匯諸家之長形成了其頗具魅力的理論風格, 爲朝鮮朝禮學的形成和確立以及性理學說地發展做出了貢獻。本文以朱子、栗谷、同春先生思想之比較的視角, 對同春堂的理氣說、四端七情說、人心道心說進行了簡要論述。可以看出, 其在理氣槪念之規定上似有分判理氣二物爲過甚之感。但, 這與其推重理通氣局思想幷不産生矛盾。在四端七情理氣之發上, 他又特重栗谷“氣發理乘”說。不過, 若考慮在栗谷說中“理通氣局”說又往往與“氣發理乘”說相對而言的理路的話, 其在四端七情理氣之發問題上持“氣發理乘”之立場亦是其性理學理論內在要求的必然結果。在人心道心說方面其特点在于, 對朱子所講的實然之“心”的重視。 Dong Choon Dahng (Song Jun-gil, 1606-1672) was a famous Confucianist and politician in the Li Dynasty of Korean of the 17th century. As a direct disciple of Yulgok, Song Jun-gil, together with Song Si-yeol of Kiho Confucianism school, exalted as “Two song” had the important effect in the history. Song Jun-gil always got in touch with Youngnam school and had made his own special style of theory. He had made great contributions for the development of Neo-Confucianism in the Li Dynasty of Korean. In this paper, Song Jun-gil's Neo-Confucianism including the Theory of Li (principle) and Qi(material), four beginnings and the seven emotions ,human mind and Mind of Dao, was studied through comparing with the thought of Zhuxi and Yulgok.         論文(론문) : 조선의 名醫 유이태(劉以泰,劉爾泰) 연구

        Objective: Two famous medical doctors, Yoo Itae(以泰, 爾泰) and Riu Euitae(義泰), have been well known in academic world and public in Sancheong-gun. Yoo Itae is the progenitor of Majinhak which is the therapy for measles, he wrote a “Majinpyun” as the first book of therapy for measles in Chosun. Riu Euitae, meanwhile, is a fictional medical doctor and a teacher of Heo Jun who became real without confirmation of historical truths by Roh Jeongwoo who heard about a name, Yoo Itae. Roh`s assertion was quoted in the report of literatures, papers, novel, and telecast without verification. His assertion is exposed in novel and media and it has seriously distorted the history. The purpose of this study is to rectify the historical distortion. Methods: Various references study was performed. Confirmed a family tree, birth and death year, birthplace, sepulture, words on a tombstone, writing, collections of works anthology and the existence of keepsake. Investigated records of royal family, Sancheong-gun papers, Sancheong Hyanggyo papers, Dongyuhagan, Chosun Hanryuseungram and the record of Sawoo Munjip(anthology). Analyzed Roh Jungwoo`s conversation that tells Riu Euitae is a teacher of Heo Jun and contents of an encyclopedia. Listened to testimony of descendants and assertions of historian in rural area. Verified voice recording on books taken from at birthplace and the space of activity. Results: Yoo Itae is well shown in various records and medical writing books, whereas Riu Euitae does not. Riu Euitae is not a real person in the history. Roh Jeongwoo who asserts Riu Euitae is a teacher of Heo Jun admits his mistake. But, the encyclopedia record describing Riu Euitae is a teacher of Heo Jun, government official at Sancheong district office, historians in rural area, historians in rural area who made a family shrine, gravestone, a statue, memorial, historic site of Riu Euitae on Jinju Rui could not suggest any evidences for the existence of Riu Euitae and for record Riu Euitae is a teacher of Heo Jun. Conclusion : Riu Euitae is neither a real person in the history nor a teacher of Heo Jun. Riu Euitae came from pronunciation confusion between ‘I’ and ‘Eui’ in Kyungsang province. Riu Euitae is Yoo Itae on Geochang Yoo who was a medical doctor of King, Sukjeong and wrote medical books including <Majinpyun>, <Silheomdanbang>, <Inseomungyunrog>.

        Effect of Impact Velocity on Interface Characteristics of HT‑9 Steel Joints Fabricated by Magnetic Pulse Welding

        The weldability window in magnetic pulse welding (MPW) is proposed for the end-closure joining of HT-9 steel tubularworkpieces. Based on both theoretical and experimental investigations, the impact velocity of the flyer tube at the momentof collision had a dominant effect on the bonding characteristics of the resultant joints and the optimal impact velocity wasestimated to be in the range of 265–290 m/s in this alloy system. Under the optimal process conditions, no leak was detectedduring helium leak testing. Moreover, the integrity of the joint interface was preserved until the tube section ruptured duringinternal pressure burst testing. For HT-9 steel, the ductile δ-ferrite phase produced by the localized interfacial melting duringMPW acted as an effective obstacle to crack propagation, thereby enhancing the fracture resistance of the joint interface. Allof the results demonstrated the high integrity and durability of the HT-9 steel tube assembly fabricated by the MPW process.

        ‘새침하다’류 단어의 사전 뜻풀이와 단어 구조 분석

        The purpose of this article is to argue that the literal definitions of a word group of ‘새침하다(saechimhada)’ should be further expanded and reified, and to explain the structure and the word formation of the word group. First of all, I compared the literal meaning of the ‘새침하다(saechimhada)’ suggested in the dictionary to understand the relationships between the diverse meanings. Further, I defined the primary meaning of the expression of ‘새침하다(saechimhada)’, and suggested adding ‘the cold attitude toward others’ to the literal definition of the word group of ‘새침하다(saechimhada)’. This study also analyzed the ‘-름하다(-leumhada)’ words, and identified ‘-음(-eum)’ and ‘-으름(-euleum)’ as the root derivational suffixes. The expressions of ‘새치름하다(saechileumhada)’ and ‘시치름하다(sichileumhada)’ respectively stemmed from ‘새침하다(saechimhada)’ and ‘시침하다(sichimhada)’ by the anology of applying a set of ‘X-하다(X-hada):X름-하다(Xleum-hada)’. This article enriches our understanding of the root derivational suffixes of ‘-하다(-hada)’ as a native sensory adjective and suggests that the definitions of native sensory adjectives in the Korean dictionary should be elaborated and developed in the future.

        The flora of Tsushima Islands consists of total 250 species. The major natural forests are coastal shrub forest, low-land forests, mountain forests, secondary forests, and planted forests. The vegetation maps of Tsushima Islands are similar to those of Jeju Islands, Ulreung Islands and the South-coastal districts of Korean Peninsula. The fresh water algae of Korea listed total 8 classes, 20 orders, 47 families, 122 genera and 618 kinds (including 459 species, 1 subspecies and 31 kinds). The fauna of fresh water fishes comprises 25 families, 83 genera, and 132 species in South Korea and 9 families, 20 genera and 22 species in Tsushima Islands, respectively. The Late 0ligocene sedimentation recorded in the Taishu Group reveals an unstable shallow marine depositional environment as shown in sole marks and other sedimentary features. Previous studies on directional features of the Taishu Group have shown that the Paleo-Tsushima Strait and the East Sea originated during the Taishu sedimentation. The provenances of the Taishu Group appear to be the Korean Peninsula and the Early Paleogene sedimentary rocks of Yellow Sea floor and the sea floor between Yellow Sea and the Tsushima Island. The Early Miocene uplift and folding of the Taishu Group must have closed the Paleo-Tsushima Strait connecting Korea and the Japanese Islands. According to previous studies, the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese Islands were connected during the end of the Miocene and the Late Pleistocene. The last isolation commenced during the Riss-Wu¨rm Interglacial age.

        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

One of the most important constraints in Yakut is connected with syllabic structure. Its syllabic structure is based on CV. So the constraint of "NoGeminates" is strictly applied. And the harmony between features is also considered important. Yakut has the strict constraint on the phonotactical relations. In Yakut a feature [constricted glottis] works more vigorously than [voiced]. This feature is combined with a feature [+back] or [+lab], making new constraints on the initial place: *#[+back, -CG], *# [+lab,+CG]. Finally, consonantal assimilation in obstruents of Yakut is dominated by 2 lows of constraints.         This paper presents virtual machining system in order to realize turning process in virtual space. A reliable virtual turning process simulation was developed based on the surface shaping system which is capable of considering geometric model, thermal error model, and vibration model. Accuracy of surface shape resulting from proposed machining simulator was verified experimentally. This paper also developed the watchdog agent that continuously assessed, diagnosed, and predicted performance of products and machines in machining. The Watchdog agent extracted feature signal using time-frequency analysis among various signals from multi-sensor and evaluated machining condition using performance confidence value.

      • 김치에서 분리한 Lactobacillus sp. JC-7과 Lactobacillus acidophilus 88간의 Electrofusion 최적조건 설정

        김치 발효 숙성기간을 연장하고 신선도를 오랫동안 유지 할 수 있는 김치발효 starter의 개발을 목적으로 최적숙성기에 있는 김치로부터 bacteriocin생성능이 없는 유산균을 분리하여 동정하였으며, bacteriocin생성능이 우수한 L.acidophilus 88을 융합시키기 위해 electrofusion에 대한 최적 조건을 검토하였다. 분리균주는 Lactobacillus속으로 동정되어 Lactobacillus sp. JC-7이라 명명하였다. Electrofusion에 의해 생성된 융합주를 식별하기 위해 streptomycin(2.5㎎/ml)에 내성을 나타내는 Lactobacillus sp. JC-7변이주와 kanamycin(600㎍/ml)에 내성을 나타내는 L.acidophilus 88변이주를 분리하였다. Electrofusion을 100V/㎝, 120msec(72ohms,1670 capacitance) 에서 수행했을 때 융합효율이 가장 양호하였으며 전기장의 세기와 시간이 중가할수록 융합 효율이 현저히 감소하였다. 2가 양이온은 농도가 중가할수록 대체적으로 융합효율을 감소시키는 경향을 나타내었으나 1mM MGCl_2에서는 대조군에 비해 융합효율이 약간 증가하였다. PEG매개에 의한 융합법의 융합효율을 비교한 결과, 융합효율은 chemical fusion<electrofusion<electrofusion+20% PEG순을 나타내었다. Evaluation of Optimum Conditions for the Electrofusion between Lactobacillus sp. JC-7 Isolated from Kimchi and Lactobacillus acidophilus 88. Young-Bae Jo, Hyun-Jung Choi, Hyung-Suk Baik and Hong-Ki Jun*. Department of Microbiology, Pusan National University, Pusan 609-735,Korea-A lactic acid bacterium was isolated from kimchi. The isolated strain was identified as the genus Lactobacillus thrugh its morphological characteristics and named as Lactobacillus sp. JC-7. The optimum conditions for the electrofusion between streptomycin(2.5㎎/ml)resistant mutant of Lactobacillus acidophilus 88 and kanamycin(600㎍/ml) resistant mutant Lactobacillus sp. JC-7 were evaluated. The highest number of fusants were obtained at a capacitance value of 120msec(1670㎌), a field strength of 100V/㎝,and a pulse controller setting of 72Ω. The potimum pH of elecroporation buffer was 7.5 and the concentration of divalent cation was 1mM MG^2+. Electrofusants were efficiently obtained by addition 20% polyethylene glycol to electroporation buffer. The yield of fusion was better than that of using polyethylene glycol mediated chemical induction.
