Scientific evidence on all aspects of smoking amongst youth is very important for designing appropriate interventions to reduce smoking among this vulnerable population. This paper describes current access to anti-smoking information among school children aged 13 to 15 years in Vietnam in 2014 and examines its potential impact on preventing smoking initiation. The data used in this paper were obtained from the 2014 Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) in Vietnam. Students were asked questions about their level of awareness of anti-smoking information from various sources in the past 30 days and about lessons in school regarding the dangers of tobacco use during the last 12 months. Those who have never smoked were asked "whether or not they thought about avoiding cigarettes because of health warnings on cigarette packages" and answers were analyzed in combination with data on access to anti-smoking information from other sources. The prevalence of exposure to antismoking campaigns was high among school children in Viet Nam: 55.3% of current smokers reported thoughts of smoking cessation because of health warnings on cigarette packages; 60.5% of never smokers avoided initiating smoking because of the same health warnings. The potential impact of graphic health warnings to prevent school-aged children from smoking initiation would be stronger if there was concurrent access to anti-smoking programs on the dangers of tobacco use in schools. However, school education for tobacco prevention and control has not been as strong as expected. A more comprehensive school curriculum on tobacco prevention and control is recommended to reinforce antismoking messages among school children.

This paper proposes a new bearing-only control law which can be used for autonomous navigation task. We firstly compare the proposed control law with a commonly used control law in the literature when the agent navigates with only one beacon. Second, we prove that if there are two or more beacons, the agent can almost globally asymptotically reaches the desired position under the proposed control law. Third, the proposed control law is then applied to a cooperative bearing-only navigation problem. Simulation result is given to support the mathematical analysis.

This study aimed to examine the effect of two single, easy-to-make bioreactors: bubble column and airlift for large scale production of Haematococcus pluvialis. The reactors were made of cast polypropylene (CPP) film, which is very light and easy to manufacture. The operation volume was 25L in both reactors with the same gas flow rate, 2.5L/min. Results indicated that the bubble column reactor outperformed the airlift reactor with high biomass concentration, 1.02 ± 0.285 g/L compared with 0.50 ± 0.146 g/L achieved in airlift reactor at the end of the green stage. In terms of pigment contend, 13-day after the induction stage, the carotenoid-to-chlorophyll ratio was 0.60 and 0.37 in bubble column and airlift reactor, respectively. These results demonstrated that bubble column photobioreactor was suitable for large-scale production of Haematococcus pluvialis.

Two years after implementation of the graphic health warning intervention in Vietnam, it is very important to evaluate the intervention's potential impact. The objective of this paper was to predict effects of graphic health warnings on cigarette packages, particularly in reducing cigarette demand and smoking-associated deaths in Vietnam. In this study, a discrete choice experiment (DCE) method was used to evaluate the potential impact of graphic tobacco health warnings on smoking demand. To predict the impact of GHWs on reducing premature deaths associated with smoking, we constructed different static models. We adapted the method developed by University of Toronto, Canada and found that GHWs had statistically significant impact on reducing cigarette demand (up to 10.1% through images of lung damage), resulting in an overall decrease of smoking prevalence in Vietnam. We also found that between 428,417- 646,098 premature deaths would be prevented as a result of the GHW intervention. The potential impact of the GHW labels on reducing premature smoking-associated deaths in Vietnam were shown to be stronger among lower socio-economic groups.

2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), one of the key building block for replacing petroleum-derived terephthalic acid, is utilized as the source of bioplastics, pharmaceuticals. Herein, free-standing Cu(OH)2 and CuO nanowires as electrode were examined to disclose the effects of crystal structure and chemical formation based on copper oxide in electrocatalytic 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) oxidation to FDCA in 0.1M KOH solution. We introduced on threedimensional copper foam (CuF) with high porosity as copper source and substrate with high conductivity free-standing Cu(OH)2 and CuO nanowires (NWs) on the substrate by inorganic polymerization and calcination for electrochemical HMF oxidation. This was enabled by square-planar coordination (x2y2) of Cu2+ ions in (001) crystal faces of Cu(OH)2 crystal. As a result of stacking with hydrogen bonds, free-standing Cu(OH)2 NWs on the substrate was formed. There was no change in the morphology of the nanowire arrays, but the active sites from a plane area per surface- exposed Cu atoms by transformation of Cu(OH)2 to CuO NWs increased.

In this study, the effect of crystal phase of electrode on electrocatalytic 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) conversion in aqueous solution. Here, we proposed to utilize three-dimensional porous copper foam as conductive substrate and copper source. We examined charge transfer resistance, which can explain fast electron transfer rate on those two electrode during electrochemical HMF oxidation.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The aim of this work was to develop a high efficient photobioreactor for increasing biomass and lipid production in microalgae by assessment of the hydrodynamic properties and kLa which are important parameters for improving the algal cultivation efficiency. We designed three different photobioreactors (H-Shape, X-Shape and serial-column). Among them, X-Shape showed the highest hydrodynamic properties and kLa for algal cultivation. Thus, we evaluated the biomass and the lipid production in a 20L scale-up X-Shape photobioreactor. The biomass and lipid production from X-Shape photobioreactor are 1.359±0.007gL−1 and 117.624±3.522mgL−1, respectively; which are 30.05% and 23.49% higher than those from the control photobioreactor. Finally, we observed the lipid from X-Shape had high MUFAs, CN and low IV, which is suitable for high quality of biodiesel, suggesting that it can be practicably utilized for mass production of algal biofuel.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> X-Shape airlift PBR was suitable for high production of algal biomass and lipid. </LI> <LI> Biomass and lipid production in X-Shape raised 30.05% and 23.49%, respectively. </LI> <LI> X-Shape induced high MUFAs which are suitable for high quality of algal biofuel. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
