Pseudomembranous colitis, caused by altering the normal colonic flora and allowing the multiplication of Clostridium difficile, is an deleterious adverse effect of antibiotics. But it is rarely reported by rifampicin. Rifampicin is one of the first line drug in the treatment of tuberculosis and many patients are exposed to its potential adverse effects. We experienced a patient that had abdominal discomfort and hematochezia due to pseudomembranous colitis after receiving antituberculous medication, and which was probably caused by rifampicin. A 82 years old man was admitted with abdominal discomfort and hematochezia for one week. On the past history he had been diagnosed as endobronchial tuberculosis about 4 months ago. Colonoscopy revealed multiple discrete whitish mucosal lesion on rectosigmoid colon, and histologic findings were consistent with pseudomembranous colitis. The antituberculous agents were discontinued and vancomycin was administered. The patient's symptoms were resolved within several days. There was no recurrence after reinstitution of the antituberculous agents excluding rifampicin. We report here on a case of pseudomembranous colitis probably due to rifampicin.

The purpose of this study was to reform practically a Korean Judo's Doechigi-Bon(Forms of Counterattack, judo's Gaeshi no Kata, Judo's Uradori no Kata, Judo's Gonosen no Kata) that was established in 1955 Korea, according to changing of techniques by Judo's modernization, in order to have Judo's carefulness and systematic diffusion. Reform procedure of Judo's Doechigi-Bon was 1st stage, Questionnaire survey 303 judokas, 2nd stage, Technical seminar by judo experts(12 judo professor) 4 times, 3rd stage, wording report for reform, 4rd stage, Discussion and judgement of Teaching and Judgement commission of Korean judo Association(KJA), 5th stage, Public hearing for reform in KJA, 6th stage, Report and decision of board of directors in KJA, 7th stage, public publication of Judo News(No.53) in KJA. Determination of Limiting Nutrient for Algal Growth by Algal Bioassay. Oh, Hee-Mock, Seog June Lee, Seong-Bin Kim, Mi- Kyung Park, Byung-Dae Yoon and Do-Han Kim (Environmental Microbiology Research Unit, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Taejon 305-333, Korea and Water Resources Research Institute, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Taejon 305-390, Korea) Water quaiity and algal growth potential (AGP) using Microcystis aeruginosa were investigated from April to September 1997 in Daechung Reservoir. Secchi disk transparency was 1.1 m in August. Chlorophyll-a concentrations were higher than 10㎍/l at all samples. Total phosphorus concentration was in a range of 0.020∼0.027mg/l which is at the approximate value of 0.03 mg/l, the general critical level of eutrophication. These results indicate that Daechung Reservoir is in an eutrophic state except some temporary times and restricted sites. Phosphorus uptake rate of M. aeruginosa was higher in the water from the epilimnion than in the hypolimnion and also higher under light condition than under dark condition. Therefore, phosphorus uptake rate appears to depend on cellular phosphorous content and light condition, a meaning of endergonic process. Phosphorus was the most frequently limiting nutrient: phosphorus was limiting algal gowth in April and May, nitrogen, phosphorus and trace elements were the limiting factors for algae in August, and trace elements in September. If a fast growing alga, M, aeruginosa, is used as a test organism for assaying AGP, in vivo fluorescence instead of dry weight can be measured for algal biomass and incubation period can be reduced from traditional 14 days to 7 days.

WO₃ 후막형 센서의 H₂S 감응특성

It was found in this study that WO₃ thick films calcinated at 700℃ could be used to detect H₂S gas. Relationships of the variation of the sensor conductivity with the heater power and H^S gas concentration have been investigated. H₂S sensing properties on WO₃ thick films were discussed in several conditions : about 0.05∼20 ppm of H₂S concentration and 240∼420℃ of operation temperatures. The sensor response was appeared to be directly proportional to H₂S gas concentration. In addition, it was appeared that the sensor response was affected by the thickness of WO₃ films and particle distributions of WO₃ substrate. However, NOx gas would interfere with the H₂S sensitivity of sensor developed in this study. For overcoming this problem, several additives should be considered from now on.

지방엑스포 행사장 조성실태 및 그 개선방향에 관한 연구

It is clear that local EXPOs in Korea have been boomed to activate the region since the implementation of local-self governing system. However, the definition of local EXPO is still not clear and the basic condition of location of precincts as the elements of site planning has been overlooked. This research was a part of a study on the event space for the enhancement of urban environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate problems inherent in the location of EXPO precincts. The following facts were found from the analysis of the relationship between 5 sites. 1.Being unofficial and unauthorized, a local EXPO is small-scale EXPO that is held under the supervision of local self-governing bodies in order to activate local region. 2.The law that manages the finance for building the site is needed. 3.When the urban open space is used as EXPO precinct, the different facilities programs and its volume cause the problem of location, especially in parking lot. The implication of this study is that the locations of local EXPO have the problem of program shift. Further studies must be carried out to suggest the urban park model as local EXPO precinct.

생쥐 위장관의 Interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC)에 대한 면역조직화학적 연구

Background and Objectives : Interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC) are the pacemakers in gastrointestinal tract that modulates gastrointestinal motiliey and these cells also transmit neural input from enteric nerves to smooth muscles. Recent work on tissues from patients with motility disorders that suggest that loss or defect in ICC could be related to pathophysiology in human and animal models. Immunolabelling of ICC in intestinal wall is recently developed by using specific marker, anti-c-kit antibody. Immunohistochemistry was done for ICC network in attempt to provide a morphological basis for the mechanism regulating gastrointestinal motility Methods : Cryosection was done, and whole-mount preparations of mouse stomach, gastrointestinal tract were immunolabelled using the anti-c-Kit. Immunolabelled ICC networks were observed under a confocal laser scanning microscopy. Results : According to three dimensional reconstruction study, we found that the c-Kit-positive celluar networks were widely distributed in the gastrointestinal muscle (1) circular muscle layer(IC-IM), (2) myenteric plexus(IC-MY), (3) deep muscular plexus(IC-DMP) in ileum, (4) submucosal plexus(IC-SMP) and longitudinal muscle layer(IC-LM) in colon. Conclusion : The characteristic profiles of ICC celluar networks provide a morphological basis upon the mechanism regulating gastrointestinal motility. Additional studies for the enteric nerves-ICC interaction are need to evaluate the detailed roles of Icc in gastrointestinal tract.

스쿼시 참가자의 참여동기와 만족도 관한 문화기술적 분석

This study attempts to investgate the aspects on the motives and the satsfactions of the participants of squash. This study is to analyze by ethnographic research method. The subjects in this study were 6 selected adult who were attending. The Data were collected through interviews during a period from october 2004 to december, 2004. The findings of this study were as below: First, In participating motives, casual squash participants showed participation continuous on account of health physical strength, activity motive, and accomplishment motive. Second, In participating motives, serious squash participants showed participation continuous on account of immersion motive, ostentation motive, activity motive. Third, In life satisfaction, casual squash participants felt satisfaction in physical part, psychological part. Fourth, In life satisfaction, serious squash participants felt satisfaction in physical part, social part.

ISP의 BcN 투자 및 요금체계 평가모형 : 실물옵션과 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션의 응용

모든 정보통신서비스가 All-IP 통합 인프라로 제공되는 BcN 구축은 우리나라의 핵심 국책사업 중의 하나로, 인터넷 강국으로서의 글로벌 입지를 굳히는데 결정적인 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다. 그러나 BcN 기술의 성숙에도 불구하고, 제도적 측면에서 이의 성공을 뒷받침하는 연구는 드물다. 특히 BcN 요금체계와 같은 정책적 문제에 대해서는 별다른 진전이 없다. 본 연구에서는 요금정책이 BcN 투자에 미치는 영향을, 실물옵션과 Monte Carlo 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 분석하였다. 실험결과, BcN 수요의 불확실성뿐만 아니라, 요금체계와 관련된 정책대안이 사업자의 수익구조와 투자동기에 중요하게 작용하였다. 또한 수익과 투자시점은 밀접한 관계를 가지며, 트래픽 규모가 수입에 직접 반영되는 요금체계에서 BcN 투자가 앞당겨짐을 알수 있다. 특히 ISP와 CP간의 요금체계가 투자 의사결정에 보다 크게 작용하는 것으로 파악된다. 이러한 결과는, 사업자의 자발적인 첨단 인프라 및 서비스 개발이 국민경제에 긍정적으로 작용하는 동태적 효과를 보다 전향적으로 검토할 것을 요청한다.
