Ramp-Strike Risk Evaluation Making of Carrier-Based Aircraft

        Hai-tao Jiang,Xiao-dong Su,Hui Li 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Control and Automation Vol.7 No.10

To make “Ramp-Strike Risk” evaluation making accurately, this paper introduces a new wave-off risk assessment method based on neural network of carrier-based aircraft. On account of defining “Wave-Off Retain Clearance”, the wave-off operation system with military power and vertical elevator is established as evaluation medium. The “Wave-Off Risk State Area” established by limited wave-off envelope can reduce network training burden, and the quantitative “Ramp-Strike Risk” function with flight state is presented through BP neural network finally. Simulation results show that the risk with flight states can be predicted by using new estimation method, moreover auxiliary rectification and early-warning for landing is provided.

Association of Helicobacter pylori with Elevated Blood Ammonia Levels in Cirrhotic Patients: A Meta-Analysis

        Hai-Xing Jiang,Shan-Yu Qin,Zhi-gang Min,Ming-Zhi Xie,Tao Lin,Bang-Li Hu,Xiao-Yun Guo 연세대학교의과대학 2013 Yonsei medical journal Vol.54 No.4

Purpose: The association between Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) and blood ammonia levels in cirrhotic patients is controversial. We aimed to clarify this controvercy by performing a meta-analysis of published studies. Materials and Methods:We searched PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane library for studies which explored the association between H. pylori and blood ammonia levels in cirrhotic patients before May 2012. Six cohort studies involved in 632 H. pylori positive and 396 H. pylori negative cirrhotic patients were eligible for our analysis. The summary estimates were presented as standard means differences (SMD) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) from individual studies. Results: Overall, there was significant association between H. pylori infection and the elevated blood ammonia levels in cirrhotic patients (SMD=0.34, 95% CI=0.21-0.47, I2=42.1%). Sensitivity analysis further confirmed this association. Subgroup analysis showed that the association was found only in Asian ethnicity, but not in Caucasian ethnicity. Conclusion:H. pylori infection is associated with elevated blood ammonia levels in cirrhotic patients, and more large scale studies and stratify analysis are warranted in order to further evaluate this association.

Rapid Detection and Monitoring Therapeutic Efficacy of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Complex Using a Novel Real-Time Assay

( Jiang Li Juan ),( Wen Juan Wu ),( Hai Wu ),( Son Sik Ryang ),( Jian Zhou ),( Wei Wu ),( Tao Li ),( Jian Guo ),( Hong Hai Wang ),( Shui Hua Lu ),( Yao Li ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2012 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.22 No.9

We combined real-time RT-PCR and real-time PCR (R/P) assays using a hydrolysis probe to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC)-specific 16S rRNA and its rRNA gene (rDNA). The assay was applied to 28 nonrespiratory and 207 respiratory specimens from 218 patients. Total nucleic acids (including RNA and DNA) were extracted from samples, and results were considered positive if the repeat RT-PCR threshold cycle was ≤35 and the ratio of real-time RT-PCR and real-time PCR load was ≥1.51. The results were compared with those from existing methods, including smear, culture, and real-time PCR. Following resolution of the discrepant results between R/P assay and culture, the overall sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values (PPV), and negative predictive values (NPV) of all samples (including nonrespiratory and respiratory specimens) were 98.2%, 97.2%, 91.7%, and 99.4%, respectively, for R/P assay, and 83.9%, 89.9%, 72.3%, and 94.7%, respectively, for real-time PCR. Furthermore, the R/P assay of four patient samples showed a higher ratio before treatment than after several days of treatment. We conclude that the R/P assay is a rapid and accurate method for direct detection of MTBC, which can distinguish viable and nonviable MTBC, and thus may guide patient therapy and public health decisions.

Feedback Linearization Control of Chaos Synchronization in Coupled Map-Based Neurons Under External Electrical Stimulation

        Hai-Tao Yu,Yiu Kwong Wong,Wai Lok Chan,Kai Ming Tsang,Jiang Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2011 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.9 No.5

In this paper, the dynamics of single and two electrically coupled map-based neurons under external electrical stimulation is studied. In order to realize the synchronization of two chaotic spiking neurons, a controller based on the idea of feedback linearization is proposed. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this developed control method. An important feature of the feedback control is that the amplitude of control signal tends to zero as soon as the synchronization is achieved.

Resveratrol Attenuates Early Diabetic Nephropathy by Down-Regulating Glutathione S-Transferases Mu in Diabetic Rats

        Bei Jiang,Ling Guo,Bao-Ying Li,Jun-Hui Zhen,Jian Song,Tao Peng,Xiang-Dong Yang,Zhao Hu,Hai-Qing Gao 한국식품영양과학회 2013 Journal of medicinal food Vol.16 No.6

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is the major cause of end-stage renal disease. Resveratrol has been shown to ameliorate hyperglycemia in diabetic rats. However, the effects of resveratrol on DN remain unknown. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effects of resveratrol on early-stage DN. Diabetes was induced by streptozotocin injection in male Wistar rats. The diabetic rats were treated with resveratrol at a dose of 20 mg/kg body weight for 8 weeks. Plasma glucose, creatinine, kidney/body weight ratio, and 24-h urinary protein were determined. The renal pathological changes were examined with periodic acid Schiff staining, and renal mesangial cells were cultured in high glucose concentrations with indicated concentrations of resveratrol (2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 lmol/L). The proliferation of mesangial cells was evaluated by methylthiazoletetrazolium assay. Expressions of glutathione S-transferases Mu (GSTM) and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) were detected by western blot, and apoptosis was analyzed using a flow cytometer. Resveratrol reduced plasma glucose, creatinine, and urinary protein excretion, and attenuated renal hypertrophy. Moreover, resveratrol also reduced the expression of GSTM in diabetic rats. In vitro, resveratrol inhibited the proliferation of mesangial cells caused by high glucose and down-regulated GSTM and Nrf2 expressions in a dose-dependent manner. These findings suggest that resveratrol help prevent the progression of DN. The renoprotection by resveratrol is in part mediated through the inhibition of high glucoseinduced rat mesangial cell proliferation and downregulation of GSTM expression.

        Hong-Tao Hu,Hang Yuan,Chen-Yang Guo,Quan-Jun Yao,Xiang Geng,Hong-Tao Cheng,Jun-Li Ma,Yan Zhao,Li Jiang,Yu-Qing Zhao,Hai-Liang Li 소화기인터벤션의학회 2021 Gastrointestinal Intervention Vol.10 No.2

Background: Radiographic guided percutaneous gastrostomy has become a safe and effective enteral nutrition method for patients who can not eat by mouth. Fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT) and cone-beam CT have been routinely used clinically. The aim of this study was to compare the advantages and disadvantages of percutaneous gastrostomy using different radiographic guided methods. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 538 patients undergoing percutaneous gastrostomy in our department. According to the image guidance method used in gastrostomy, the patients were divided into groups A by fluoroscopy guidance, group B by fluoroscopy combined with C-arm CT guidance, and group C with the whole process CT guidance. The gastrostomy success rate, complication rate, procedure time, and patient radiation dose were analyzed in the three groups. Results: Among 538 patients, 534 were successful and the success rates are 94.3%, 99.3%, and 100% in group A, B, and C, respectively (P > 0.05). There were 3 cases occurred postoperative bleeding as serious adverse events and transferred to surgical gastrostomy. The minor complications include local infection, hyperplasia of granulation tissue, tube obstruction or prolapse, and local pain of the ostomy. The minor complication rates were 10.5%, 10.4%, and 7.7% in group A, B, and C, respectively (P > 0.05). The average procedure time was 25.57 ± 5.99 minutes, 29.01 ± 6.63 minutes, and 45.47 ± 8.98 minutes, respectively (χ2 = 87.98, P < 0.001). The average radiation dosage was 27.30 ± 19.27 mGy, 145.07 ± 106.08 mGy, and 2,590.26 ± 1,088.22 mGy, respectively (χ2 = 204.44, P < 0.001). Conclusion: There were no significant differences in the success rates and complication rates of gastrostomy under the three guiding methods. For difficult cases, CT-guided gastrostomy may be a very useful supplemental method.

Genetic Diversity of mtDNA D-loop and Maternal Origin of Three Chinese Native Horse Breeds

        Zhang, Tao,Lu, Hongzhao,Chen, Chen,Jiang, Hai,Wu, Sanqiao Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2012 Animal Bioscience Vol.25 No.7

In order to protect the genetic resource of native horse breeds, the genetic diversity of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) D-loop of three native horse breeds in western China were investigated. Forty-three 600 bp mtDNA D-loop sequences were analyzed by PCR and sequencing techniques, 33 unique haplotypes with 70 polymorphic sites were detected in these horses, which account for 11.67% of 600 bp sequence analyzed, showing the abundant genetic diversity of the three native horse breeds in western China. The Neighbour-Joining (NJ) phylogenetic tree based on 247 bp of 43 D-loop sequences demonstrated the presence of seven major lineages (A to G), indicating that the three native horse breeds in western China originated from multiple maternal origins. Consistent with the front, the NJ phylogenetic tree based on 600 bp of mtDNA D-loop sequences of 43 Chinese western native horses and 81 sequences of six horse breeds from GenBank indicated that the three horse breeds had distributed into the seven major lineages (A to G). The structure of the phylogenic tree is often blurred because the variation in a short segment of the mitochondrial genome is often accompanied by high levels of recurrent mutations. Consequently, longer D-loop sequences are helpful in achieving a higher level of molecular resolution in horses.

      • Meta-Analysis of Circulating Endothelial Cells and Circulating Endothelial Progenitor Cells as Prognostic Factors in Lung Cancer

Yu, Min,Men, Hai-Tao,Niu, Zhi-Min,Zhu, Yu-Xi,Tan, Ben-Xu,Li, Long-Hao,Jiang, Juan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.14

Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the prognostic implications of pretreatment circulating endothelial cells (CECs) and circulating endothelial progenitor cells (CEPCs) for the survival of patients with lung cancer. Materials and Methods: Relevant literature was identified using Medline and EMBASE. Patient clinical characteristics, overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) together with CEC and CEPC positive rates before treatment were extracted. STATA 12.0 was used for our analysis and assessment of publication bias. Results: A total of 13 articles (8 for CEC and 5 for CEPC, n=595 and n=244) were pooled for the global meta-analysis. The odds ratio (OR) for OS predicted by pretreatment CECs was 1.641 [0.967, 2.786], while the OR for PFS was 1.168 [0.649, 2.100]. The OR for OS predicted by pretreatment CEPCs was 12.673 [5.274, 30.450], while the OR for PFS was 4.930 [0.931, 26.096]. Subgroup analyses were conducted according to clinical staging. Odds ratio (OR) showed the high level of pretreatment CECs only correlated with the OS of patients with advanced lung cancer (stage III-IV). Conclusions: High counts of CECs seem to be associated only with worse 1-year OS in patients with lung cancer, while high level of pretreatment CEPCs correlate with both worse PFS and OS.
