<P>Human parathyroid hormone 1-34 fragment (PTH1-34) has been used as a FDA-approved therapeutics to treat osteoporosis by daily subcutaneous injection. In this work, we successfully developed PTH1-34 conjugated hyaluronic acid (HA) for the transdermal treatment of osteoporosis with improved patient compliance. HA-PTH1-34 conjugate was synthesized by the coupling reaction between aldehyde group introduced to HA and amine group of PTH1-34. After characterization by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and ELISA, the biological effect of HA-PTH1-34 conjugate on the proliferation of human osteoblast cells was confirmed by in vitro calcium colorimetric assay and cAMP assay. Two-photon microscopy clearly visualized the effective skin penetration of FITC modified HA-PTH1-34 conjugate. The transdermally delivered HA-PTH1-34 conjugates elevated the blood calcium concentration for more than 2days, reflecting the feasibility for the treatment of osteoporosis.</P>
이산적 선택실험을 통한 온ㆍ오프라인 쇼핑채널의 소비자 후생효과와 경쟁 분석

본 논문의 목적은 가격과 비가격 요소들을 포괄한 쇼핑채널 특성들이 소비자 선택에 미치는 영향을 추정하고 쇼핑채널의 비가격 전략이 경쟁구조에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 정량적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 소비자를 대상으로 한 이산적 선택실험을 통해 온라인 쇼핑채널과 오프라인 쇼핑채널에 대한 수요를 추정하고, 이로부터 쇼핑채널의 전략이 채널 간 경쟁에 미치는 영향을 시뮬레이션을 통해 예측한다. 분석 결과 소비자들은 쇼핑채널 선택 시가격뿐만 아니라 제품의 다양성, 배송시간, 이동시간, 제품체험 가능 여부와 같은 비가격요인들에 대해서도 상당한 가치를 부여하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 쇼핑채널들의 물류망 투자경쟁, 간접 네트워크 효과(브랜드 수), 배송시간, 이동시간 등 비가격적 속성을 둘러싼 경쟁이 시장의 경쟁구조에 주요한 영향을 미칠 것으로 예측되었으며, 오프라인과 온라인 쇼핑채널의 결합 시 나타날 시너지 효과도 상당한 것으로 나타나, 가격 외의 측면에서도 온라인 쇼핑채널과 오프라인 쇼핑채널 간 경쟁관계가 존재함을 확인했다. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of shopping channel characteristics, including price and non-price factors, on consumer choice and to quantitatively examine how shopping channels’ non-price strategies affect the competitive structure. To this end, we estimate the demand for online and offline shopping channels through a discrete choice experiment with consumers, and use simulations to predict the impact of shopping channel strategies on inter-channel competition. The analysis shows that consumers place significant value on non-price factors such as product variety, delivery time, travel time, and product experience when choosing a shopping channel. Based on the demand estimation results, we predict the magnitudes of impacts that firms’ non-price strategies would have on the competitive structure of the market under various scenarios. The synergy effects of combining offline and online shopping channels are also significant, confirming that there is competition between online and offline shopping channels in aspects other than price.
Exploration of Novel 2-Alkylimino-1,3-thiazolines: T-Type Calcium Channel Inhibitory Activity

<P>We have developed combinatorial libraries of new 2-alkylimino-1,3-thiazolines with four diversity points, consisting of more than 500 compounds, in a parallel synthetic fashion. The synthetic strategy was based on the construction of a large library aimed at the discovery of new compounds with T-type calcium channel inhibitory activity through structure modifications of hit compound <B>2</B>. The syntheses of the compounds of Chemset A with four diversity points were accomplished by the condensation of thioureas <B>5</B> with α-haloketones <B>6</B>{<I>1−66</I>} having two diversity points each. A library of phthalimidyl 1,3-thiazolines <B>24</B> was synthesized to provide Chemset B, which allowed the introduction of other diversity points through the nucleophilic character of the amino nitrogen. A sublibrary, Chemset C, was constructed from the libraries of Chemset A and Chemset B by functionalization of the C-4 position of the 1,3-thiazoline ring. The products containing ester or acid groups at the C-4 position of the 1,3-thiazoline ring were used in amide synthesis to give a new sublibrary within Chemset C. Deprotection of the phthalimidyl moiety of <B>24</B> followed by the reaction with benzoyl chloride gave the corresponding sublibrary in Chemset C. Another sublibrary which includes secondary amino derivatives was obtained by reduction of the amide moiety or reductive amination of <B>23</B> with phenyl aldehyde. Speech Enhancement Using a Two-Stage Network for an Efficient Boosting Strategy

<P>A novel neural network architecture, called two-stage network (TSN), with a multi-objective learning (MOL) method for an efficient boosting strategy (BS) is proposed for speech enhancement. BS is an ensemble method using multiple base predictions (MBPs) for better final prediction. Because of the necessity for MBPs, the computational cost and model size of BS-based methods are greater than those of a single model. In overcoming this, TSN first obtains MBPs from a single deep neural network. Then, to obtain better final prediction, the convolution layers of TSN aggregate not only MBPs but also some auxiliary information such as contextual information, while adaptively filtering out some unnecessary information, e.g., poor base predictions. At the training phase, the MOL enables all stages of TSN to learn jointly, whereas allowing the TSN framework to embed a BS. Our experimental results confirm that the embedded BS leads TSN to outperform other baseline methods with a reasonably low computational cost and model size.</P>
HRI를 위한 사람의 내적 요소 기반의 인공 정서 표현 시스템

사람과 로봇의 인터렉션에 있어 정서의 역할은 중요하다. 그러므로 사람과 유사한 정서 메커니즘이 로봇에게 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 사람의 정서에 대한 심리적 연구를 바탕으로 사람의 내적 요소에 기반한 새로운 인공 정서 표현 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 external stimulus, emotion, mood, personality, tendency, machine rhythm의 6가지 정보 요소를 활용하며, 각 요소들은 그들의 특성에 따라 결과적으로 emotion 표현 패턴의 변화에 영향을 준다. 그 결과 동일한 외부 자극들은 내적 상황에 따라 emotion의 변화를 만들어 낸다. 제안된 시스템은 사람과 로봇의 자연스러운 인터렉션을 유지하고, 친밀한 관계를 형성할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 것이다. In human and robot interaction, the role of emotion becomes more important. Therefore, robots need the emotion expression mechanism similar to human. In this paper, we suggest a new emotion expression system based on the psychological studies and it consists of five affective elements, i.e., the emotion, the mood, the personality, the tendency and the machine rhythm, Each element has somewhat peculiar influence on the emotion expression pattern change according to their characteristics, As a result, although robots were exposed to the same external stimuli, each robot can show a different emotion expression pattern. The proposed system may contribute to make a rather natural and human-friendly human-robot interaction and to promote more intimate relationships between people and robots.
