Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate recent clinical studies on Association between Breast Feeding and Intelligence in Korea and other countries. We have analyzed the studies on Association between Breast Feeding and Intelligence within cohort study for 5 years (from 2011 to 2015). Methods: The search database includes Oasis, KTKP (Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal), Medline, Embase, and Cochrane library. To narrow the search, the following key search terms were used: ‘Breast Feeding, intelligence, development’. The search was limited to the publication date from 2011 to 2015. 9 Cohort study and 1 cross-sectional study were selected for analysis. Results and Conclusions: Eight of the nine cohort studies were significantly higher in the breastfeeding group, While the other study concluded that breastfeeding was higher in breastfeeding group, but not significantly different from breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding. Breast Feeding is related to improved performance in intelligence tests. The longer you breastfeed, the higher intelligence will be.
PACRIM-Ⅱ AIRSAR/MASTER Experiment over Korean Peninsula(An Overview)

The advantages of the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has been well known among remote sensing data users since the launching of SEASAT in 1978. However, one of the limiting factors has been the limited spectral resolution until today with only single frequency and single polarization data available from all space-borne SAR systems. The AIRSAR system, developed by NASA(JPL) in late 1980s and became fully operation in 1990, has been a unique and valuable tool for the investigators interested in multiple frequency fully polarimetric SAR experiments. The PACRIM-I experiment in selected Pacific Rim countries in 1996 was a great success and the current PACRIM-II is the successor of PACRIM-I. In view of the new space-borne SAR systems: ALOS (Japan), ENVISAT (ESA) and RADARSAT-II (Canadian Space Agency), all planned for launching in 2002 and 2003 time frame, are all polarimetric SAR systems, and it is not only timely but also essential for any remote sensing corrununity to develop polarimetric SAR application capabilities. The Korean participants in PACRIM-lI includes both AIRSAR research teams and MASTER hyperspectral research team. The main objectives of the Korean participation in PACRIM-II include establishment of scientific and engineering knowledge base for the Polarimetric SAR technology, training of qualified graduate students, and developments of new polarimetric SAR applications. Science and engineering disciplines participating in the Korean PACRIM-II experiment include agriculture, archeology, land use, forestry, geography, geology, geohydrology, coastal science, oceanography, environmental applications, natural disaster monitoring and disaster management.
Image restoration based on the wavelet filter bank

In this paper, we propose a new way to restore a degraded image using the wavelet transform and filter banks. First, we device a degraded image into 4 subband images using UDWT(Undecimated Wavelets Transform), and then use a proper CLS(Constrained Least Square) filter in each subband. Using a proper CLS filter in each subband, we can save the high frequency components constained in the original images. To reduce the computational load, we propose an algorithm which reconstructs an image from the down-sampled subband images using the wavelet transform. This is a good tade-off between the ISNR(Inverse Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and the calculation time because it reduces the calculation loads significantly in contrast to the degradation in ISNR
모유수유에 대한 이침요법의 임상적 효과: 무작위 대조군 연구 동향

Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate randomized controlled trials using ear acupuncture therapy on breast feeding and to determine its clinical efficacy. Methods: All relevant studies were searched in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure and were reviewed by authors independently to select suitable studies. Risk of bias tool was used to assess the quality of included studies. Results: 38 studies were selected consequentially. In normal maternities and maternities with hypogalactia, most of studies showed that ear acupuncture therapy increases the amount of milk, advances the initial time of lactation, and increases the level of prolactin. The risk of bias on included studies were unclear and high generally. Conclusions: Ear acupuncture therapy has a significant clinical efficacy on breast feeding related problems, especially on the amount of milk, the initial time of lactation, and the level of prolactin. Moreover it is a simple and safe nonpharmacological therapy. However more high-quality studies are needed to be confident its efficacy and safety.
모유수유와 학동기 이후 아동의 피로에 관한 연구: 한방소아청소년센터 외래환자를 대상으로

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of breast-feeding on the fatigue in late childhood of Korean pediatrics and adolescent outpatients in the Kyung Hee university hospital. Methods: This study surveyed 211 children and adolescents of 8~18 years old who visited the department of pediatrics of Kyung Hee Korean Medicine Hospital from July 29th, 2016 to August 12th, 2016. The PedsQLTM Multidimensional Fatigue Scale (MFS) was used to research on fatigue of children. We analyzed the data by using PASW Statistics 18.0 with independent t-test, One-Way ANOVA, eta correlation, Pearson’s correlation. Results: 1. MFS score of breast-feeding children group was significantly lower than that of nonbreast- feeding children group (p<0.05). MFS score (Mean±D) of breast-feeding children group was 19.89±9.36 and MFS score (Mean±D) of non-breast-feeding children group was 25.83±9.89. 2. There was significant statistical correlation between breast-feeding experience and MFS (p<0.05). 3. There was statistical correlation between the duration of breast-feeding and MFS (p<0.05). Conclusions: Non-breast-feeding children group complained of more fatigue problems than breast-feeding children group.
