        The purpose of this study was to examine physiological changes of the body according to various weight loads and the holding during carrying object. The experiments were conducted with utilizing physiological analyses for five male and five female adults as subjects. The results were as followed. 1. Any significant difference was not shown in heart rate, ventilation and amount of oxygen uptake of male subjects in the case of no load and 5kg. And also no significant difference was shown in expiratory exchange ratio of male subjects of no load, 5kg and 10kg, but in other measure items and other stages of weight was shown. 2. Significant differences were shown in heart rate, ventilation, defluxion of carbon dioxide, oxygen uptake per body weights, respiratory exchange rate, respiration rate and all other measure items of female subjects in all stages of load. 3. In the MMH job, there was no influence on male subjects up to 5kg loads, but there was an significant difference in male subjects in load walking from 5kg. It shows that even in 5kg weight MMH work, female subject's expiratory function was influenced. 4. 10kg load was the limit weight of female subjects and 15kg was of male subjects when they walked on treadmills with 4km/h velocity for 3 minutes, holding loads in the right and vertical types.

        This study consists in clarifying the meaning of various angles and velocity, and two types of the stroke of a pushing shot and hitting shot through the three-dimensional image analyses among the factors of exercise. To attain the purpose of such studies, the result of experiment and analysis for each of three athletes of boys and girls in high school and three persons in general came to the conclusion as follows; 1. The last motion of a group of A having a command of a follow shot showed greatly, compared with two groups of B and C, and this showed that a group of A took a rectilinear motion greatly to gain power and two group of B and C took a rotary motion greatly to gain speed. 2. A group of A having a command of a pushing shot move body weight forward from behind and give the first consideration to a rectilinear motion, and two groups of B and C having a command of the stroke of hitting shot used the turning of the shoulder and the waist and gave much weight to a rotary motion than a rectilinear one. 3. The position of the hitting point of a group of A having a command of a pushing shot turned out to be the waist, and that of the hitting point of two groups of B and C, the chest, and namely this showed that the position of the hitting point was decided according to the form of the stroke and pictures of various kinds. 4.       • 運動負荷와 收縮回數의 關係를 利用한 上腕二頭筋의 最大腕力推定에 관한 硏究

        The purpose of this study is estimate maximum muscle strength by measuring only maximum mumber of contractions at a given load(kg) with no direct determination of maximum muscle strength in isometric. Therfore, was designed to investigate the laws of various weight-loads (P) and number of contraction(N). Subjects were 75 baseball players whose ages ranged between 18 and 23 years old. Each subject measured the maximum mumber of contractions during extension and contraction movements between 45 degrees and 110 degrees of right elbow joint angle by using arm ergometer. The rate of tempo was once every two seconds. And, In this study, the value of maximal isometric stength was applied elbow joint engle in 45 degrees. The results may be summarized as follows : 1) It was significantly that maximum number of contractions during training group was higher than that of De-training group (P<0.05). 2) In the total, it was significantly that maximum mumber of contractions during Low group of maximum muscle strength was higher than that of High group by measuring 70 to 90% Loads (P<0.01) 3) In the total, it was significantly that maximum number of contractions during High grip strength was higher than that of Low group by measuring 50% Loads(P<0.05). 4) Relationship between Load(kg) and number of contractions has shown to be well fitted to an exponential equation : N = -allP + b. On the basis of these findings, it was suggested that estimation of maximum muscle strength relationship between load and mumber of contractions brachial biceps more adequate weight-loads than relative load(%).

        Foot ratio and physical fitness were measured and multiple-compared in the level of P<.05 on the subject of 28 prize winners from Men's part of middle school in the field and track events of the "P" youth athletic tournament in 1998 and 7 general students adopted by random sampling. These are conclusions from the result of relative analysis of foot length measured by X-ray, Medial longitudinal arch's height, foot ratio and physical fitness in the level of P<.05. 1. No significance was discovered in FR but throwing group is better than medium and long distance group. 2. Flexibility and endurance have meaning in physical fitness. The short distance group has better flexibility than the medium and long, throwing and general one. And medium and long distance/ throwing group have better endurance than general one. 3. FR and physical fitness show a negative correlation in the muscular strength of throwing group.

        Kinetic analysis of supported Ni-catalyzed CO<sub>2</sub>/CH<sub>4</sub> reactions using photoacoustic spectroscopy

        <P>CO<SUB>2</SUB> photoacoustic spectroscopy was employed to analyze kinetically the CO<SUB>2</SUB>/CH<SUB>4</SUB> reaction catalyzed by 14 wt% Ni/Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> and 14 wt% Ni/TiO<SUB>2</SUB>. The catalytic reaction was carried out in the temperature range of 673–923 K at various partial pressures of CO<SUB>2</SUB> and CH<SUB>4</SUB> (40 Torr total pressure) in a closed-circulating reactor system. The CO<SUB>2</SUB> photoacoustic signal, measured by using a differential photoacoustic cell, was recorded as a function of reaction time. Under these conditions, Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> and TiO<SUB>2</SUB> used as supports do not promote the reaction as noted by the lack of changes in the CO<SUB>2</SUB> photoacoustic signal. Reactions run in the presence of H<SUB>2</SUB>-reduced supported Ni catalysts are associated with significant time dependent changes in the CO<SUB>2</SUB> photoacoustic signal, while processes carried out in the presence of unreduced catalysts do not. Changes in the CO<SUB>2</SUB> photoacoustic signal at early reaction times provide precise data for the rate of CO<SUB>2</SUB> disappearance. The rate of CO<SUB>2</SUB> disappearance is observed to increase with increasing temperature in the range of 673–923 K. Apparent activation energies for CO<SUB>2</SUB> consumption were calculated to be 15.4 kcal mol<SUP>−1</SUP> for the Ni/Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>- and 14.3 kcal mol<SUP>−1</SUP> for the Ni/TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-catalyzed reactions. Reaction orders, determined from initial rates of CO<SUB>2</SUB> disappearance at 873 K, were found to be 0.48 in CH<SUB>4</SUB> and 0.45 in CO<SUB>2</SUB> for the Ni/Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>-promoted process, and 0.38 in CH<SUB>4</SUB> and 0.32 in CO<SUB>2</SUB> for the Ni/TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-catalyzed reaction.         N/A Purpose: Atopic dermatitis is characterized by immunologic abnormalities including evidence for reduced IFN-γ production with increased IL-4 production. Previous open trials have suggested efficacy for recombinant IFN-γ in treatment of severe atopic dermatitis. Here we report the results of treatment with IFN-γ in 5 patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. Methods: Atopic dermatitis was diagnosed according to typical clinical symptoms. Patients were treated with IFN- r for 6 weeks. Patients received 2×10(6) units/m IFN-γ by subcutaneous injection. Serum IgE levels, total eosinophil counts with hemoglobin(Hb) concentrations, hematocrit(Hct)s, white blood cell counts(WBC), lymphocyte fractions, eosinophil fractions and platelet counts were examined before treatment and 1 week and 6 week after treatment. Results: The skin lesions of all patients begun to be improved after 3 times of injection. As estimated by patients, responses showed significant improvement. Three of five patients were resolved completely who showed complete clearance of skin manifestation. And remained two patients show dramatic improvement with mild some skin lesions. WBC counts, Hemoglobins, Hematocrits, lymphocyte fractions, eosinophil fractions and platelet counts was not significantly changed before and after IFN-γ treatment. Serum IgE levels were not markedly elevated and not reduced after IFN-γ treatment. But total eosinophil counts were decreased 1 week after treatment and reduced to normal range 6 weeks after treatment. Conclusions: Five severe atopic dermatitis patients who did not respond to previous treatment, who had showed complication to loeal steroid treatment and who had severe skin lesions were treated with IFN-γ. They showed marked improvement in skin lesions after IFN-γ treatment and three of them showed complete clearance of skin lesions. Total eosinophil count was regarded as an excellent indicator for diagnosis, evaluation of therapeutic effects of IFN-γ. IFN-γ may be a suitable immunotherapy modality in the treatment of atopic dermatitis and futher studies for the action mechanism of IFN-γ in atopic dermatitis might be needed.

        학교 정원을 활용한 생태교육 프로그램이 중학생들의 생태소양 함양에 미치는 효과

        오늘날의 지구 생태계가 생태학적 위기 상황에 직면하고 있다는 생태학적 위기의식이 확산되면서 이를 인식하고 극복하기 위한 노력으로 생태교육의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 중학생들의 생태소양 함양을 위해 과학 교과의 「생물의 다양성」 단원을 재구성하여 학교 정원을 활용한 생태교육 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 수업에 적용하여 중학생들의 생태소양 함양에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 연구 대상은 대도시의 중학교 세 곳을 선정하여 생태교육 프로그램으로 수업을 진행한 실험 집단과 교실에서 교수매체를 활용하여 수업을 진행한 비교 집단으로 구분하였고, 이들의 생태소양을 측정했다. 그리고 생태교육 프로그램에 대한 만족도 평가와 반구조화된 인터뷰를 추가로 진행했다. 연구 결과, 생태소양을 구성하는 생태학적 지식은 집단 간 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 하지만 생태소양을 구성하는 생태적 태도는 실험 집단 학생들이 비교 집단 학생들보다 더 높은 생태적 태도 그리고 강한 생태중심주의와 약한 인간중심주의를 보여 생태교육 프로그램이 생태소양 함양에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 판단된다. 생태교육 프로그램에 대한 만족도 평가 결과는 모든 항목에서 높은 점수를 보여 생태소양 함양을 위한 생태교육 프로그램으로서 부족함이 없는 것으로 판단된다. 한편, 학생 인터뷰 내용을 바탕으로 프로그램을 보완했다. 생태교육 프로그램을 통해 학교 정원에서 「생물의 다양성」 단원을 학습한 학생들은 생태적 지식형성뿐만 아니라 생태적 태도 형성에도 긍정적인 영향을 받아 이를 통해 생태소양을 함양하고 증진하였다. 따라서 중학교 과학 교과 시간에 학교 정원을 활용한 생태교육 프로그램을 적용한다면 학생들의 생태소양이 함양되고 증진될 것이다. As the ecological crisis awareness that today’s global ecosystem is facing an ecological crisis situation is spreading, the need for ecological education is being raised as an effort to recognize and overcome it. Therefore, in this study, the ecological education program using the school garden was developed by reorganizing the 「Bio-diversity」 section of the science curriculum to cultivate the ecological literacy of middle school students. By applying this to the class, the effect on the cultivation of ecological literacy of middle school students was analyzed. The study subjects were selected from three middle schools in large cities, and their ecological literacy was measured by dividing them into an experimental group in which classes were conducted through an ecological education program and a comparative group in which classes were conducted using instructional media in the classroom. In addition, satisfaction evaluation and semi- structured interview on the ecological education program were conducted. As a result of the study, the ecological knowledge that constitutes ecological literacy did not show any significant difference between groups. However, as for the ecological attitude constituting ecological literacy, the experimental group students showed higher ecological attitudes, strong ecocentrism and weak anthropocentrism than the comparative group students. Therefore, it is judged that the ecological education program had a positive effect on the cultivation of ecological literacy. Satisfaction evaluation results for the ecological education program showed high scores in all items, so it is judged that there is no shortage of ecological education program for cultivating ecological literacy. Meanwhile, the program was supplemented based on student interviews. The students who studied 「Biological Diversity」 in the school garden through the ecological education program were positively affected not only in the formation of ecological knowledge but also in the formation of ecological attitudes, thereby cultivating and promoting ecological literacy. Therefore, if the ecological education program using the school garden is applied to the middle school science curriculum, the ecological literacy of the students will be cultivated and promoted.
