Ravichandran, M.,Oza, G.,Velumani, S.,Ramirez, J.T.,Garcia-Sierra, F.,Andrade, N.B.,Garza-Navarro, M.A.,Garcia-Gutierrez, D.I.,Asomoza, R. North-Holland 2014 Materials letters Vol.135 No.-
<P>In this letter, we have reported a novel synthesis of CoFe2O4 nano-needles by a co-precipitation method using precursors of ferric chloride and cobalt nitrate at 80 degrees C. The structural and magnetic properties of as-grown needle-like CoFe2O4 nanostructures exhibit cubic spinel structure. CoFe2O4 nano-needles have an average diameter of 15 nm with an aspect ratio of 30:50, which was depicted by High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) confirmed the property of superparamagnetism. The magnetic measurement illustrated that the coercivity (Hc) of CoFe2O4 nano-needles increased from -145.84 Oe at 5 K to -25.38 Oe at 312 K. The cell viability studies of CoFe2O4 nano-needles were performed in the concentration range of 5-1000 mu g/ml on L6 (Skeletal muscle cell lines) and Hep-2 (Larynx carcinoma) cells using 3-(4,5 dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. There was more than 50% cell viability for both the cell lines, but Hep-2 cells were more prone to killing as compared to L6 cells. Such biocompatible nanostructures can be used as drug-delivery systems for cancer therapeutics. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.</P>
Comparison of thermal fatigue behaviour of ASTM A 213 grade T-92 base and weld tubes
G. R. Jinu,P. Sathiya,G. Ravichandran,A. Rathinam 대한기계학회 2010 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.24 No.5
Super-heater tubes are subjected to alternate heating and cooling in power plants causing them to crack and eventually fail. This phenomenon is referred to as “thermal fatigue.” In this paper, a laboratory simulation for reproducing the thermal fatigue phenomenon is developed to determine the number of cycles necessary before failure occurs in super-heater tubes. The temperature and strain distributions along the specimen were computed theoretically using ANSYS software for the applied temperature condition. The thermal fatigue test was conducted for both base and shielded metal arc (SMA) welded tubes separately and both passed in the non-destructive tests. These tubes were subjected to thermal cycles from 800ºC (accelerated temperature) to room temperature. Oxy-acetylene heating setup was utilized as a heating source, and a water bath was utilized for quenching purposes. The tests were carried out until open cracks were identified. Surface cracks were identified in the base and weld tubes after 90 and 60 cycles respectively. This study reveals that heating and cooling cause thermal fatigue, initiate cracks in the tubes.

For a given p-valent analytic function g with positive coefficients in the open unit disk $\Delta$, we study a class of functions $f(z) = z^p - \sum\limits{_{n=m}}{^\infty} a_nz^n(a_n{\geq}0)$ satisfying $$\frac 1 {p}{\Re}\;(\frac {z(f*g)'(z)} {(f*g)(z)})\;>\;\alpha\;(0{\leq}\;\alpha\;<\;1;z{\in}{\Delta})$$ Coefficient inequalities, distortion and covering theorems, as well as closure theorems are determined. The results obtained extend several known results as special cases.

For a given $p$-valent analytic function $g$ with positive coefficients in the open unit disk $\UD$, we study a class of functions $f(z)=z^p-\sum_{n=m}^\infty a_nz^n$\ ($a_n\geq 0$) satisfying \[ \frac{1}{p}\Re \left( \frac{z(f*g)'(z)}{(f*g)(z)}\right) > \alpha\quad (0\leq \alpha<1; z\in\Delta).\] Coefficient inequalities, distortion and covering theorems, as well as closure theorems are determined. The results obtained extend several known results as special cases.
Isopod Parasite Induced Secondary Microbial Infection in Marine Food Fishes

Isopods are parasitic crustaceans that pose serious threat to fisheries. Several studies have tried to explore the host-pathogen relationship between marine fishes and isopods. The present study aims to understanding the secondary infections in marine fishes pertaining to isopods. To assess the secondary infection in infected fishes, parasite infested and healthy tissues of fishes were collected. The samples were subjected to standard microbiological procedure to identify the presence of pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Our results showed the branchial region had the higher microbial load of non-sporulating cenocytic fungi in infected fishes. Moreover, fungal strains isolated from the parasitic lesion confirmed that the parasitation and body lesion facilitates the entry of several pathogenic microbes at the damaged host tissue. More over the immune regulation of fish fights back by producing minute cysts, trying to encapsulate the growing fungus. But this may eventually lead to systemic infestation and death of the fish.
FUNCTIONS SUBORDINATE TO THE EXPONENTIAL FUNCTION
Priya G. Krishnan,Vaithiyanathan Ravichandran,Ponnaiah Saikrishnan Korean Mathematical Society 2023 대한수학회논문집 Vol.38 No.1
We use the theory of differential subordination to explore various inequalities that are satisfied by an analytic function p defined on the unit disc so that the function p is subordinate to the function ez. These results are applied to find sufficient conditions for the normalised analytic functions f defined on the unit disc to satisfy the subordination zf'(z)/f(z) ≺ ez.

This paper considers a wideband cognitive radio network (WCRN) which can simultaneously sense multiple narrowband channels and thus aggregate the detected available channels for transmission and studies the ergodic throughput of the WCRN that operated under: the wideband sensing-based spectrum sharing (WSSS) scheme and the wideband opportunistic spectrum access (WOSA) scheme. In our analysis, besides the average interference power constraint at PU, the average transmit power constraint of SU is also considered for the two schemes and a novel cognitive radio sensing frame that allows data transmission and spectrum sensing at the same time is utilized, and then the maximization throughput problem is solved by developing a gradient projection method. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to verify the performance of the two proposed schemes.

A facile, one-pot and environmental benign method exploiting Piper betle biomass as a reducing andstabilizing agent was proposed for the preparation of silver (Ag) nanoparticles. The Ag nanoparticlesprepared from dried Piper betle leaves extract exhibited unique spherical configuration and facecentered-cubic structure with preferred (1 1 1) orientation. The fabricated Ag/GCE sensor exhibited anexceptional electrocatalytic activity toward NO2 oxidation with a quick response time, high sensitivityand lower detection limit of 10 s, 1642.27 mAm M 1 cm 2 and 0.046 mM, respectively. Furthermore, theconstructed sensor exhibited long-term stability and excellent anti-interference properties, paving newdimensions for the utilization of bio-mediated nanocatalysts in electrochemical sensors.
