A Reliable Secure Storage Cloud and Data Migration Based on Erasure Code

( Emmy Mugisha ),( Gongxuan Zhang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.1

Storage cloud scheme, pushing data to the storage cloud poses much attention regarding data confidentiality. With encryption concept, data accessibility is limited because of encrypted data. To secure storage system with high access power is complicated due to dispersed storage environment. In this paper, we propose a hardware-based security scheme such that a secure dispersed storage system using erasure code is articulated. We designed a hardware-based security scheme with data encoding operations and migration capabilities. Using TPM (Trusted Platform Module), the data integrity and security is evaluated and achieved.

Wnt3a and wnt5a as Potential Chondrogenic Stimulators for Nucleus Pulposus Cell Induction: A Comprehensive Review

        Tibo Nico Emmie Volleman,Jordy Schol,Kosuke Morita,Daisuke Sakai,Masahiko Watanab 대한척추신경외과학회 2020 Neurospine Vol.17 No.1

Low back pain remains a highly prevalent pathology engendering a tremendous socioeconomic burden. Low back pain is generally associated with intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration, a process involving the deterioration of nucleus pulpous (NP) cells and IVD matrix. Scientific interest has directed efforts to restoring cell numbers as a strategy to enable IVD regeneration. Currently, mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are being explored as cell therapy agents, due to their easy accessibility and differentiation potential. For enhancement of MSCs, growth factor supplementation is commonly applied to induce differentiation towards a chondrogenic (NP) cell phenotype. The wnt signaling pathways play a crucial role in chondrogenesis, nonetheless, literature appears to present controversies with regard to wnt3a and wnt5a for the induction of NP cells, chondrocytes, and MSCs. This review aims to summarize the reporting on wnt3a/wnt5a mediated NP cell differentiation, and to elucidate the mechanisms involved in wnt3a and wnt5a mediated chondrogenesis for potential application as cell therapy supplements for IVD regeneration. Our review suggests that wnt3a, subsequently replaced with a chondrogenic stimulating growth factor, can enhance the chondrogenic potential of MSCs in vitro. Contrariwise, wnt5a is suggested to play a role in maintaining cell potency of differentiated NP or chondrogenic cells.

Gymnolaemate Bryozoans in Fresh and Brackish Water of South Korea: Occurrence, Taxonomical Remarks and Zoogeographical Implications

        정경진,Emmy R. Wöss,채현숙,서지은 한국동물분류학회 2017 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.33 No.1

The present census on freshwater bryozoans in the Han River, Geum River and in lentic water bodies in Gangwon Province revealed three gymnolaemate species. Two of them-Hislopia prolixa Hirose and Mawatari, 2011 and Victorella pavida Saville Kent, 1870 were recorded for the first time from South Korea. Paludicella articulata (Ehrenberg, 1831), on the other hand, had already been documented from a few sites since 1941. The bryozoans, all belonging to the order of Ctenostomata, were found on a variety of substrates in freshwater (H. prolixa and P. articulata) and brackish habitats (V. pavida). Hislopia prolixa had recently been established as a new species and this is the first record for an occurrence outside of Japan, where it had been newly described from Lake Biwa and nearby satellite lakes.

Effect of inlet temperature and ventilation on heat transfer rate and water content removal of red chilies

Mirmanto,Syahrul,Emmy Dyah Sulistyowati,I Dewa Ketut Okariawan,Rodian 대한기계학회 2017 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.31 No.3

Chilies are an important agricultural product that is becoming a potential product in Indonesia. Chilies need to be dried in order to be durable. A new drying method was investigated in this study using a simple radiator as a heating source of the heating room. The amount of heat that can be transferred depends on the tested parameters. One parameter is the water temperature. Therefore, our aim was to determine the effect of inlet temperature and ventilation on the heat transfer and water content removal. The temperature employed at the entrance of the radiator varied from 60 °C to 80 °C, while the water mass flow rate used was kept at approximately 12 g/s. The initial heating room temperature was around 30 °C. Agricultural products tested were red chilies with a water content of 86 % - 90 %. The results show that variation of water temperature affects the heat transfer rate and the water content removal, while the prevailing ventilation supports the heat transfer rate but decreases the water removal.

      • Poster Session : PS 0309 ; Hematology : Monocytes, Chemoattractants for Monocytes (MCP-1 and IP-10) and Type I IFN in Infl uenza Virus Infection

        ( Amaylia Oehadian ),( Emmy Pranggono ),( Uun Sumardi ),( Hadi Jusuf ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Monocytes could be infected with infi uenza virus and induce rapid differentiation into myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs). Virus-induced mDCs secreted chemoattractants for monocytes (MCP-1 and IP-10). We aim to evaluate monocyte, chemoattractans for monocytes and IFNalpha in infi uenza virus H5N1 and H1 N1. Secondary data were evaluated from medical record of H5N1(n=10) and H1N1 ( n=8) who were hospitalized in Hasan Sadikin Hospital since 2005. MCP-1, IP-10 and IFNalpha were evaluated using secondary data from previous study by Jusuf H : A Comparison of cytokine level between infi uenza A (H5N1) with infi uenza A (pH1N1) Mann Whitney test was used for comparison between H5N1 and H1N1, survive and death subjects. The correlation between chemoattractans for monocytes (MCP-1 and IP-10), IFNalpha and monocyte count were calculated using Spearmann correlation test. Monocyte count was lower in H5N1 compare to H1N1 (90 (0-240) vs 139 (36-560)/mm3, p 0. 17). Monocyte count was higher in survive compare to death subjects (150 (0-560) vs 75 (36-240) /mm3, p 0. 09). The death subjects had signifi cantly higher MCP-1, IP10 and IFNaplha (2171. 5 (985- 10000) vs 674. 4 (450. 2-1209. 3) pg/ml, p 0. 03, 3186. 9 (2436, 2-3937. 6) vs 971. 4 (520, 7-2387. 4) pg/ml, p 0. 03 and 354. 0 (87-2499. 8) vs 18, 6 (1. 41-184) pg/ml, p 0. 003, respectively). There was strong and signifi cant negative correlation between monocytes count and MCP-1 ( R -0. 8, p 0. 042) and between monocytes count andIP-10 ( R -0. 8, p 0. 019). Monocyte count could be used to characterized the severity of infi uenza viral infection. The lower monocyte count correlate with the higher chemoattractant for monocytes produced by mDCs.

A Review on Teleoperation of Mobile Ground Robots: Architecture and Situation Awareness

        Samwel Opiyo,Jun Zhou,Emmy Mwangi,Wang Kai,Idris Sunusi 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.3

Currently, the application of mobile ground robots spans a range of fields from surveillance, search and rescue, exploration, agriculture, military among others. In unstructured and dangerous environments such as disaster scene, military fields or chemical spray in agricultural farms, the experience and intelligence of the operator are necessary for making complex decisions beyond the autonomy of the robot. In such cases, teleoperation allow the operator to guide the robot in achieving complex task from a safe location. The effectiveness with which the operator controls the robot depends on, among others, operator’s awareness of the robot’s environment, the quality of communication link, the robustness of robot’s control system and experience of the human operator. Ground mobile robots form the basis of this work since they are applicable in many fields and mostly operate in dynamic environments that require additional guidance from a human operator. This study reviews research work on mobile robot teleoperation systems, and puts more emphasis on the architecture, communication link and situation awareness creation. Moreover, future trend in mobile robot teleoperation is also put forward in this review to give ground for new research work in this field. Based on the sited literature, it is noted that making the operator feel present in the robot’s environment through sufficient visual and force feedback as well as use of good quality network, significantly improve the navigation efficiency and task achievement of mobile ground robots.

Bioactive Peptides and Its Alternative Processes: A Review

        Norfahana Abd-Talib,Emmy Liza Anak Yaji,Nur Suraya Abd Wahab,Nadia Razali,Kelly Yong Tau Len,Jumardi Roslan,Nazamid Saari,Khairul Faizal Pa’ee 한국생물공학회 2022 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.27 No.3

Bioactive peptides are molecules of paramount importance with significant health benefits. These bioactive peptides extracted from various food sources demonstrated significant bioactivity and potency, including angiotensinconverting enzyme inhibitors, antioxidants, opioids, and antimicrobials. However, various challenges hindered the industrial-scale production of peptides, such as the sensory performance of peptides due to bitterness, low peptides bioavailability and yield, minimal human tests, unconfirmed molecular mechanisms, and the sustainability of the resources for mass production. The emerging alternative processes such as high hydrostatic pressure, microwave, ultrasound, sub- and supercritical fluids are selectively beneficial, albeit time-consuming and expensive. The diversity of the properties of bioactive peptides complicates the design of the appropriate purification steps, particularly for novel peptides. The integrative process by coupling the production and purification of bioactive peptides to a single integrative system can be a way forward for bioactive peptides production with high purity, potency, and cost-effectiveness. Thus, the review provides a comprehensive insight into the current status, trends, and challenges of bioactive peptide production through conventional and emerging processes. Meanwhile, the potential technological leap through integrative processes is also featured as the sustainability of the process must be assured.
