        Effect of foaming parameters on the physical and phytochemical properties of tomato powder

        The objective of this work was to study the effect of foaming parameters on the physical and phytochemical properties of tomato powder. A central composite rotatable design of experiments was defined with two parameters (concentration of soy protein isolate [SPI]: 1–5% and whipping time: 2–14 min) with 5 levels for each parameter. The foam was prepared by whipping tomato puree after adding SPI and dried in a thin layer (4 mm ± 1) at 50 °C. The obtained results showed the predominant effect of the concentration of SPI on the physical and phytochemical properties compared to whipping time. The powder prepared under foaming conditions of 5% SPI and whipping time of 8 min showed an increase of 97, 39, 62, and 46% in the total phenolics, total flavonoids, antioxidant activity, and porosity, respectively, while the bulk density decreased by about 25%.

        Remarks on the syntax and semantics of so-called comitative coordination

        Natural languages exhibit two conjunction strategies: the coordinate strategy and the comitative strategy (Stassen 2000). Recent work claims that there exists a hybrid construction that appears to employ both strategies, namely comitative coordinate construction. This paper argues against this claim and shows that what the literature assumes to be a hybrid construction is in fact a pure comitative, which is different from a coordinate semantically and syntactically. The paper also offers an alternative structural analysis of this construction, which captures the various differences between comitatives and coordinates. The analysis proposed has consequences on the status of the conjunct constraint, the constraint that bans extracting a whole conjunct.

        Maternal and Neonatal Outcomes of Critically Ill Pregnant and Puerperal Patients Diagnosed with COVID-19 Disease: Retrospective Comparative Study

        Background: We assessed maternal and neonatal outcomes of critically ill pregnant and puerperal patients in the clinical course of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Methods: Records of pregnant and puerperal women with polymerase chain reaction positive COVID-19 virus who were admitted to our intensive care unit (ICU) from March 2020 to August 2021 were investigated. Demographic, clinical and laboratory data, pharmacotherapy, and neonatal outcomes were analyzed. These outcomes were compared between patients that were discharged from ICU and patients who died in ICU. Results: Nineteen women were included in this study. Additional oxygen was required in all cases (100%). Eight patients (42%) were intubated and mechanically ventilated. All patients that were mechanically ventilated have died. Increased levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) was seen in all patients (100%). D-dimer values increased in 15 patients (78.9%); interleukin-6 (IL-6) increased in 16 cases (84.2%). Sixteen patients used antiviral drugs. Eleven patients were discharged from the ICU and eight patients have died due to complications of COVID-19 showing an ICU mortality rate of 42.1%. Mean number of hospitalized days in ICU was significantly lower in patients that were discharged (P = 0.037). Seventeen patients underwent cesarean-section (C/S) (89.4%). Mean birth week was significantly lower in patients who died in ICU (P = 0.024). Eleven preterm (57.8%) and eight term deliveries (42.1%) occurred. Conclusion: High mortality rate was detected among critically ill pregnant/parturient patients followed in the ICU. Main predictors of mortality were the need of invasive mechanical ventilation and higher number of days hospitalized in ICU. Rate of C/S operations and preterm delivery were high. Pleasingly, the rate of neonatal death was low and no neonatal COVID-19 occurred.

      • SLA in Cloud Computing Architectures: A Comprehensive Study

        Cloud computing, the model for providing on-demand access to a pool of shared resources with minimum provider interference, is emerging as a substitute to common IT infrastructure. As increasing numbers of cloud consumers dispatch their workloads to cloud providers, Service Level Agreement (SLA) between consumers and providers becomes of paramount importance to guarantee that service quality is preserved at satisfactory levels regardless of the dynamic nature of the cloud environment. SLA contains an explanation of the agreed service, parameters of the level of service, the guarantees regarding the Quality of Service, arrangements and cures for all cases of violations. In this paper, we provide a study about the general structure of SLA, its components, the management processes (in particular SLA monitoring), SLA lifecycle, and pricing. Then, we explore the importance of SLA for cloud computing services related to both the cloud user and the service provider including the differences between SLA for cloud services and other Web services. Finally, we present a comparison between the current major cloud computing service providers in terms of SLA’s.

        Optimized Fuzzy Fractional-order Controller for a Nonlinear Chaos System With Period-doubling Bifurcation Analysis

        Chaos study and control is one of the dynamic fields of research nowadays. The non-linear dynamic behavior such as fast scale bifurcation results in an unpredictable chaos action so it is essential to eliminate this behavior. So, the main objective of this paper is to propose an optimized fuzzy fractional PID controller to suppress the chaos action and stabilize a nonlinear chaotic. The cuckoo search optimization (CSO) technique’s optimal solution is used to optimize the fractional order controller parameters while considering integral time absolute error as the objective function and the FLC will adapt the controller parameters so that it provides a good performance. Here, the boost converter for permanent magnet DC motor is selected as a chaotic system as case study. The dynamic characteristic of the system is analysed by waveform, phase portrait, and Fillipov theory. Then, the proposed controller is compared with three additional controllers, such as controlling saltation matrix, optimized-PID, and optimizedFractional PID. The proposed technique enhances the performance of the system and stabilized the response of the output and suppress the bifurcation behavior for nonlinear system. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed technique has justified by simulation results on the PMDC drive system in a specified interval with variation the load to emphasize its superiority over all other controllers.

        Effects of air-abrasion pressure on the resin bond strength to zirconia: a combined cyclic loading and thermocycling aging study

        Objectives: To determine the combined effect of fatigue cyclic loading and thermocycling (CLTC) on the shear bond strength (SBS) of a resin cement to zirconia surfaces that were previously air-abraded with aluminum oxide (Al2O3) particles at different pressures. Materials and Methods: Seventy-two cuboid zirconia specimens were prepared and randomly assigned to 3 groups according to the air-abrasion pressures (1, 2, and 2.8 bar), and each group was further divided into 2 groups depending on aging parameters (n = 12). Panavia F 2.0 was placed on pre-conditioned zirconia surfaces, and SBS testing was performed either after 24 hours or 10,000 fatigue cycles (cyclic loading) and 5,000 thermocycles. Non-contact profilometry was used to measure surface roughness. Failure modes were evaluated under optical and scanning electron microscopy. The data were analyzed using 2-way analysis of variance and χ2 tests (α = 0.05). Results: The 2.8 bar group showed significantly higher surface roughness compared to the 1 bar group (p < 0.05). The interaction between pressure and time/cycling was not significant on SBS, and pressure did not have a significant effect either. SBS was significantly higher (p = 0.006) for 24 hours storage compared to CLTC. The 2 bar-CLTC group presented significantly higher percentage of pre-test failure during fatigue compared to the other groups. Mixed-failure mode was more frequent than adhesive failure. Conclusions: CLTC significantly decreased the SBS values regardless of the air-abrasion pressure used.

        The artificial intelligence of robot is the weakness of digital intelligence of a person who able to train, self-realize and to develop competences, creative, professional and behavioral skills. A new methodology proposed for managing robots inside the mines using an electronic system designed for driving robots to injured people in seas, mines or wells who can not be reached by human force. This paper also explains the concept of managing and remote-controlling the process of searching and helping the injured. The user controls the robot through an application that receives all the reports that the robot sends from the injured person. The robot's tasks are to take a sample of the blood of the injured person, examine it, and measure the percentage of oxygen underground and send it to the user who directs the robot to pump a specific percentage of oxygen to the injured person. The user can also communicate with the person The patient and determine his condition through the camera connected to the robot equipped with headphones to communicate with the injured and the user can direct the camera of the robot and take x-rays from the injured.

        Fluoride and Dental Health: An Overview of Its History, Occurrence, Intake and Metabolism in Human, Methods of Delivery and Harmful Effects

        Fluorine is the most reactive nonmetal and the most electronegative element. It almost never occurs in nature in its elemental state, it combines with all elements, except oxygen and the noble gases, to form fluorides. A human can obtain fluoride (F) from air, drinking water and food. The metabolism of F is constituted of the following processes; absorption: secretion: distribution: and excretion. A distinction is made between F that is ingested systemically and that is applied topically. Nevertheless, as seen by Murray and Naylor 1996, such distinctions are not helpful since all methods of F delivery can have both systemic and topical effects. F has made a great contribution in declining dental caries prevalence since the discovery of its anti-caries effect in 1938 by Dr Trendly Dean. Prolonged use of F at recommended levels does not produce harmful physiological effects in human. However, like every chemical, there are safe limits for F ingestion beyond which harmful effects occur. At excessive exposure levels, ingestion of F causes dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis, and manifestations such as gastrointestinal, neurological, and urinary problems. These effects can be classified as acute toxicity and chronic toxicity.

        An Entity Relationship (ER) data model is a high level conceptual model that describes information as entities, attributes, and relationships. Entity relationship modeling designed to facilitate database design. The abstract nature of Entity Relationship diagrams can be discouraging task to both designers and student alike. This paper deals with the problem of extracting ER elements from natural language specifications using Natural Language Processing (NLP). The approach provides the opportunity of using natural language documents as a source of knowledge for generating ER data model. The structural approach is used to parse specification syntactically based a predefined set of on heuristics rules. Extracted words with its Part Of Speech (POS) mapped into entities, attributes and relationships, which are the basic elements of ER diagrams.
