Engineered-to-order Approach for Providing Flexibility in e-Commerce of Mold Parts

<P>In the mold parts industry, customers typically place orders for order-made parts with some changes to the design specifications of ready-made parts within the extent of the manufacturing capability of the supplier. Being customized for ready-made parts, existing e-Catalog systems cannot support this trade pattern. To solve this problem, an engineered-to-order (ETO) approach is proposed here, enabling the trade of order-made parts in an e-Catalog system by utilizing the design and manufacturing knowledge of part suppliers. After addressing technological challenges and their solutions, we describe application results of the ETO approach to two types of mold parts U2014; ejector pins and mold bases.</P>
Linking a plant item and its geometric representation using ISO 15926 templates

Plant design data consist of activity models with streams, equipment specifications, functional diagrams (e.g. P&IDs), and 3D plant models. Plant item is a basic unit used for the representation of plant’s logical configuration and geometry. Geometric objects, called primitives, are combined by using Boolean operations to create a complex 3D shape. ISO 15926 is an international standard for the integration and sharing of plant lifecycle information. Contrary to other types of design data, few studies on ISO 15926-based 3D shape representation have been reported. As part of the research for ISO 15926-based 3D shape representation, we suggest how to link a plant item and its geometric representation using ISO 15926 templates and their representation in OWL.

Recent trends in the engineering information management technology of the shipbuilding industry are characterized by the spread of the product lifecycle management (PLM) concept and an increased demand on better use of ship engineering data after ship delivery. A typical approach taken for the application of PLM systems in the shipbuilding industry is either customizing PLM systems developed for use in the mechanical industry or developing a new ship lifecycle management system according to the information requirements specific to the shipbuilding industry. Product structure data, explicit hierarchical assembly structures representing assemblies and the constituents of those assemblies, forms the backbone of all engineering data managed by PLM systems. The product structure differs depending on an industry’s requirements or design and manufacturing methods. Therefore, an information modeling approach suitable for a ship product structure data is necessary for effectively applying the PLM concept in the shipbuilding industry. In this study, STEP PDM Schema and AP 239 PLCS, typical information models for the representation of product structure data in the mechanical field are analyzed. After the analysis, an approach for modeling the information on product structure data across the ship lifecycle is developed through comparison of information requirements in the mechanical and the shipbuilding industries. Particularly considered is the utilization of a ship product structure data at the phase of middle and end of life after the delivery.
ISO 15926 기반 응용 SW 개발 사례 및 산업 활성화

ISO 15926 표준은 플랜트 산업의 생애주기 데이터 공유 및 통합을 위한 산업 데이터 표준이다. 세계적으로 ISO 15926 표준의 활용사례가 늘어나고 있고 이에 따라 국내에서 연구가 수행되고 있다. 이 표준의 산업 적용을 위해서는 관련 산업이 존재해야 하고, 지원 도구, 개발 인력이 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 ISO 15926 표준의 산업 적용 측면에서, 응용 시스템 개발 사례에 대해서 살펴보고, 인프라 활성화 방안에 대해서 논의한다.

많은 금형 부품의 거래에서는, 고객이 표준화된 기성품에서 대해서, 제조업체의 제조 가능한 범위에서 설계사양을 수정하여 주문하는 패턴이 일반적이다. 기존의 전자카탈로그 시스템은 기성품의 거래에 최적화 되어 있어서 이와 같은 주문품의 거래에 적용하기가 어렵다. 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는, 제품에 대한 설계 지식 및 제조 업체의 생산 지식을 적용하여, 전자카탈로그 시스템에서 주문품의 거래를 가능하게 하는, 주문자 설계변경을 통한 거래 (ETO: engineering-to-order) 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 ETO 방법의 구현을 위해 필요한 주요 요소기술에 대해서 분석하고, 금형 부품 중 하나인 이젝터핀과 몰드베이스에 대해서 실험한 결과에 대해서 소개한다. 사양 기반 플랜트 설계 시스템에서 생성된 원자력 플랜트 설계 데이터의 중립 모델로의 통합 변환

It gradually becomes important to study on how to efficiently integrate and manage plant lifecycle data such as 2D schematic and 3D solid data, logical configuration data, and equipment specifications data. From this point of view, converting plant design data from various systems into neutral data independent from any commercial systems is one of important technologies for the operation and management of plants which usually have a very long period of life. In order to achieve this goal, a neutral model for efficient integration and management of plant data was defined. After schema mapping between one of specification-driven plant design systems and the neutral model was performed, a plant data translator is also implemented according to the mapping result. Finally, by experiments with nuclear power plant design, the feasibility of the translator was demonstrated.

위그선은 순항 중에 해면 효과를 얻을 수 있는 고도로 항공기와 같이 비행을 함으로써 일반적인 선박으로는 달성할 수 없는 초고속 운항이 가능한 차세대 해양운송시스템이다. 이와 같은 일반 선박과의 차이로 인해서 위그선 의장의 요구사항은 의장품의 종류나 사양에 있어 일반 선박의 의장과 차이를 보인다. 본 논문에서는 IMO, GL, Lloyd에서 발간한 가이드라인/규칙을 분석한 후 규정된 항목들을 업무 분할 체계에 따라 구분하는 방법으로 위그선 의장에 관한 요구사항을 정리한 결과를 설명한다. 분석은 GL 규칙을 중심으로 IMO와 Lloyd의 가이드라인/규칙을 참조하는 형태로 수행하였다.
온톨로지와 ELECTRE IS을 활용한 사양 기반 부품 유사도 측정 방법

When existing parts are re-used for the development of a new product or business-to-business transactions, a method for searching parts from a part database that meets user’s requirements is necessary. To this end, it is important to develop a part search method which is able to measure similarity between parts and user’s input data with generality as well as robustness. In this paper, the authors suggest a method for measuring part similarity using ontology and multi-criteria decision making method and address its technical details. The proposed method ensures the interoperability with existing engineering information management systems, represents part specifications systematically, and has generality in the procedure for comparing part specifications. The case study for ejector pins having been conducted to demonstrate the proposed method is also discussed.
