        light rail vehicle is modeled as a 2 d. o. f linear system for the design of vertical suspension characteristics and a 4 d.o. f linear system for the design of lateral suspension characteristics. FRA"s class-5-track irregularity is used for the exciting disturbance on track. Suspension stiffness and damping is selected on the basis of the ride quality and suspension stroke trade-off for the bogie of light rail vehicle. The optimum value of primary and secondary suspension characteristics is determined. And the stability of full vehicle model for the LRV is analyzed using the VAMPIRE program and critical speed is determined.

      • ZNF509S1 downregulates PUMA by inhibiting p53K382 acetylation and p53-DNA binding

        Expression of the POK family protein ZNF509L, and -its S1 isoform, is induced by p53 upon exposure to genotoxic stress. Due to alternative splicing of the ZNF509 primary transcript, ZNF509S1 lacks the 6 zinc-fingers and C-terminus of ZNF509L, resulting in only one zinc-finger. ZNF509L and -S1 inhibit cell proliferation by activating p21/CDKN1A and RB transcription, respectively. When cells are exposed to severe DNA damage, p53 activates PUMA (p53-upregulated modulator of apoptosis) transcription. Interestingly, apoptosis due to transcriptional activation of PUMA by p53 is attenuated by ZNF509S1. Thus we investigated the molecular mechanism(s) underlying the transcriptional attenuation and anti-apoptotic effects of ZNF509S1. We show that ZNF509S1 modulation of p53 activity is important in PUMA gene transcription by modulating post-translational modification of p53 by p300. ZNF509S1 directly interacts with p53 and inhibits p300-mediated acetylation of p53 lysine K382, with deacetylation of p53 K382 leading to decreased DNA binding at the p53 response element 1 of the PUMA promoter. ZNF509S1 may play a role not only in cell cycle arrest, by activating RB expression, but also in rescuing cells from apoptotic death by repressing PUMA expression in cells exposed to severe DNA damage.

      • 의치상용 레진의 착색도에 관한 연구

        Under oral conditions, restorations are exposed to the combined effect of light, oral fluid, extrinsic stain and mechanical wear, which can cause esthetically undesirable color changes. Discoloration of dental appliances may pose a considerable cosmetic problem to many patients. Denture and orthodontic appliances are used considerably long time in the mouth, and the degree of discoloration will be different depending on the oral cavity conditions, foods consumed and storage condition. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color stability of dental acrylic resins after immersion in various solutions using color difference meter(CIEL.AB color scale). Five kinds of acrylic resins, two(VRS, PS2) were heat cured denture base resin, one(VSC) was chemically cured denture base resin and the other two (ORJ, VOP) were orthodontic resins. The acrylic resin specimens of thickness 3 mm were made according to the manufacturer's instructions and were final polished with Microcloth(Buehler). The specimens were immersed in five kinds of solutions, normal saline(SAL), Polident solution(PDT), cola(COL), beer(BER) and vinegar solution(VNG) for four weeks. Every one week, after removal from each solutions, L, a, b and ΔE value of specimens were measured using Colorimeter (Model TC-6FX, Tokyo Denshoku Co.). In the denture base acrylic resin, the color change (ΔE) was great in the PDT and BER solution after four weeks immersion, and the amount of change was most prominent during the second one week. In the orthodontic resin, greater color change was recorded compared to denture base resin. And th color change (ΔE) was great in the BER, COL, VNG, PDT and SAL in the decreasing order after four weeks immersion, and the amount of change was most prominent during the second one week immersion. The 'L' value showed decreasing tendency during immersion. And 'a' and 'b' value was changed according to the color of immersion solutions. Results suggest that the dental acrylic resins generally became darker and absorbed extrinsic pigments during immersion in solutions, and the amount and direction of discoloration was different depending on the solution type and duration.

        Extensive injuries of the lower extrimity including bone and soft tissue loss are usually confronted with a difficult reconstructive problem. It is true that various trials have been done to solve this difficult problem but this problem has not been improved satisfactorily by conventional method. In recent, Marked development of microsurgery has made a new field for solving in such a difficult problem.

      • 시판 막걸리로부터 유산균들의 분리 및 동정

        시중에서 5종의 생 막걸리를 구입하여 이들의 안지오텐신 전환효소 저해 활성을 측정한 후, 막걸리에 들어 있는 유산균의 수를 확인하였다. 순수배양된 유산균들을 16S rRNA 유전자를 증폭하여 염기서열을 결정함으로써 동정하였다. 그 결과 5종의 제품들 중 Da와 Ku 막걸리가 안지오텐신 전환효소 저해 활성이 타 제품들보다 우수하였다. 이들 제품에서 Uncultured Lactobacillus sp., Lactobacillus sp., Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. tolerans, Lactobacillus crustorum 등의 유산균이 동정되었으며, 다른 제품과는 다른 유산균총을 갖고 있음을 확인하였다. The goal of this study was to isolate lactic acid bacteria which has superior functionalities from commercially available raw Makgeolli. To accomplish this, we measured the angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitory activity in 5 different brands of Makgeolli obtained from market. Also we isolated pure cultures from Makgeolli and identified them. Makgeolli brands called Da and Ku showed a superior ACE inhibitory activity and had a different microbial flora with others.

        외상성 수지(중수골-지골관절)의 Swanson氏 관절성형술

        Reconstruction of stiff and painful finger joint presents difficult problems and a completely satisfactory surgical solution is still wanting. Severe injuries involving the metacarpo-phalangeal joints often result in complete destruction of the joint with residual deformity and pain. Functionally, these fingers may be useless and frequently amputation is the only recourse. Numerous surgical procedures have been performed in attempting to correct this condition. However, the results of capsulectomy, arthroplasty, and arthrodesis are not always spectacular and may leave much to be desired. so the use of silicone rubber in developing implants for replants for replacement of the diseased and destroyed joints was suggested by Swanson(1968). This paper reviews our experience of the silastic arthroplasty in the post - traumatic metacarpo - phalangeal joint.

        남은 음식물 사료가 육성 비육돈의 성장과 도체특성에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the effect of feeding RFW (recycled food waste) on performance in growing-finishing pigs. Four treatments with 3 RFW levels were tried in this study; 0% PT (pellet containing 0% RFW), 30% MT (mash containing 30% RFW), 30% PT (pellet containing 30% RFW) and 50% PT (pellet containing 50% RFW). For feeding trials, 60 heads of cross-bred barrows (Duroc x Landrace: average live weight 30 ㎏) were employed to 4 treatments with s replicates of 3 pigs each. For metabolic trials, 12 cross-bred barrows (average live weight 68 ㎏) were used with 3 replicates. The results obtained are as followings; ADG of 50% PT was significantly (P $lt; 0.05) lower than 0% PT and 30% PT, but 30% MT and 30% PT were not significantly different from 0% PT. In F/G ratio, 2.97 of 30% PT was not (P $gt; 0.05) significantly different from 2.85 of 0% PT treatment. Dressing percentage and back fat thickness were not significantly different among treatment. Addition of RFW increased appearance rate of carcass grade A or B. Nutrient digestibility was decreased by increasing RFW levels. The 30% PT was not significantly different from 0% PT in both DE and digestibility of crude fat and crude fiber, but significantly less in digestibility of crude protein and crude ash (P $lt; 0.05). Economic analysis based on feed cost per weight gain showed that pelleting feed with food waste 30% was the most economical.

        Recently, usage of DC motor is increasing for vehicle convenience and safety. According to trend, interest for noise and vibration are increasing too. In this paper, decrease of noise & vibration for Compact motor (which) developed for vehicle miniaturization and lighten will be studied. All of test implemented under actual load. Natural frequency of each parts are measured through modal & Random excite except resonance by Natural frequency.
