An AC/DC Power System Consisting of a Diode Rectifier and an Auxiliary Three-Level Converter
Chung-Chuan Hou 전력전자학회 2011 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2011 No.5
This study proposed an AC/DC power system consisting a diode rectifier and an auxiliary three-level converter. The diode rectifier load system is powered by AC grid and distributed generators (DGs) such as photovoltaic cells and micro turbines. The auxiliary three-level converter operates as an active filter when the load system does not get enough power from DGs. When the load system get excessive energy from DGs, the auxiliary three-level converter can transfer the energy back to the AC grid. If the AC grid is in an abnormal condition, the AC/DC power system is disconnected by switch and the DC load is powered by the DGs. Once the AC grid recovers, the AC/DC power system is reconnected by switch and the DC load is powered by AC grid and DGs. Simulation and test results are presented to validate the performances of the proposed AC/DC power system.

This study aimed to examine the mediating effects of teacher professional community on the relationship between perceived instructional leadership and teacher self-efficacy of online teaching in Taiwan. Data were collected from elementary and middle school teachers via an online survey using a questionnaire designed with well-developed scales. Analysis showed that perceived instructional leadership has no direct effect on teacher self-efficacy and that teacher professional community mediates fully the relationship between perceived instructional leadership and teacher self-efficacy. Among the four teacher professional community components examined, shared norms showed the most significant mediating effect. Results also revealed no significant difference in the relationships between variables across teachers in elementary and middle schools. Implications for school leadership and teacher learning are discussed.

Loosened by the laws and regulations, Taiwan’s alternative educational policy has allowed public schools to conduct school-wide curriculum transformation experiments, which is a possible opportunity for Taiwanese aborigines who have been subjected to long-term oppression and assimilation to separate from the mainstream ideological educational framework. In this change process, the school principal-led curriculum transformation has become an important way to seek a new educational model. This paper qualitatively investigates two alternative schools for Taiwanese aborigines that have undergone successful transformation and collects the views of the principals, directors, team leaders, and teachers (eight persons in total) in two schools on the school principal-led curriculum transformation. Through summarizing and analyzing relevant data, this paper proposes that the principals of Taiwanese aboriginal schools effectively change the teachers’ beliefs, curriculum structure, and school culture through the systematic practices of “belief change” and “structural innovation,” and establish a curriculum paradigm different from mainstream education, which realizes a certain knowledge transfer effect. The transformative curriculum leadership process can be summarized into the conflict awakening and positioning stage, the experimental and interactive development stage, and the revision and transformation stage. This study intents to provide a reference for Taiwan’s educational reform and encourage the principals of other alternative schools to picture the connotation and value of transformative curriculum leadership and establish more new curriculum models of alternative education.

This study explores the impact of principals’ spiritual leadership on teachers’ organizational commitment (OC) and psychological capital (PsyCap) in a high-school environment. We tested the conceptual model using structural equation modeling (SEM) of data collected from a sample of 803 high-school teachers in Taiwan. The results revealed that principals’ spiritual leadership had significant and positive impact on teachers’ PsyCap and that teachers’ PsyCap enhanced their OC. However, principals’ spiritual leadership had no direct effect on teachers’ OC. Teachers’ PsyCap was found to mediate fully the impact of principals’ spiritual leadership on OC. Discussion and implications of the results are presented.

In this paper, the position controller is proposed to improve the position tracking properties of permanent magnet stepper motors (PMSMs).The proposed controller consists of a position proportional integral derivative(PID) and two current proportional integrals (PIs). From the position PID, the desired torque is derived. For the desired phase currents, the current PIs are used to compensate back-EMF and phase lag. The simulation results show the performance of the proposed controller.
Space Partitioning Technique for Indoor Location Estimation using Wireless Sensor Network
Chuan-Chin Pu,Wan-Young Chung 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
In a small and high RF reflection environment, the received radio signal strength indication (RSSI) values are not linearly distributed correspond to the distances respectively. Therefore, instead of using trilateration method, the possibility of localization using RF-based space partitioning method was studied in this paper. This is similar to the spatial signature techniques which requires to construct a database for location search. The proposed method divides an indoor area into several partitionedareas centered with a signature-point in the databased. For limited resource constraint, the proposed method was implemented into wireless sensor networks and verified that it is able to provide potential improvement in indoor localization.

This paper concerns the topic of surface passivation properties of rapid thermal oxidation on p-type monocrystalline silicon wafer for use in screen-printed silicon solar cells. It shows that inline thermal oxidation is a very promising alternative to the use of conventional batch type quartz tube furnaces for the surface passivation of industrial phosphorus-diffused emitters. Five minutes was the most favorable holding time for the rapid thermal oxidation growth of the solar cell sample, in which the average carrier lifetime was increased 19.4 ms. The Fourier transform infrared spectrum of the rapid thermal oxidation sample, whose structure was Al/Al-BSF/p-type Si/n-type SiP/SiO2/SiNx/Ag solar cell with an active area of 15.6 cm2, contained an absorption peak at 1085 cm1, which was associated with the SieO bonds in silicon oxide. The lowest average reflectance of this sample is 0.87%. Furthermore, for this sample, its average of internal quantum efficiency and conversion efficiency are respectively increased by 8% and 0.23%, compared with the sample without rapid thermal oxidation processing.
