      • 완두 F_1세대의 조합능력 검정

        완두의 이면교잡에 의한 F_1세대에 대한 조합능력을 검정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 9개 형질에 대한 GCA, SCA, RCA효과를 검정한 바 조합능력은 전 형질에서 GCA, SCA, RCA가 모두 유의하였고, 분지수·경직경·엽장·주당협수·협당립수·주당립수·100립중·주당립중은 GCA가 SCA보다 크고, 품종간 GCA효과는 고성종1호가 경직경과 100립중에서, 고성종2호가 경장·분지수·엽장에서, 김해종이 주당협수·주당립수·100립중·주당입중에서, 진해종이 협다립수에서 각각 정(+)으로 높았다. SCA효과에서 경장은 1×2(고성종1호×고성종2호)조합과 1×3(고성종1호×김해종)조합이, 분지수는 4×5(고성종3호×진해종)조합이, 경직경과 엽장은 1×3(고성종1호×김해종)조합이, 주당협수는 1×2(고성종1호×고성종2호)조합과 4×5(고성종3호×진해종)조합이, 협당립수는 1×2(고성종1호×고성종2호)조합·1×4(고성종1호×고성종3호)조합·2×3(고성종2호×김해종)조합이, 주당립수는 1×2(고성종1호×고성종2호)조합과 4×5(고성종3호×진해종)조합이, 100립중은 3×4(김해종×고성종3호)조합이, 주당립중은 1×2(고성종1호×고성종2호)조합·3×4(김해종×고성종3호)조합·4×5(고성종3호×진해종)조합이 각각 정으로 높았다. RCA효과에서 경장·엽장·주당협수·주당립중은 1×2(고성종1호×고성종2호)조합이, 주당협수·주당립수·100립중·주당립중은 2×4(고성종2호×고성종3호)조합이 각각 정으로 높았다. Five pea varieties in F₁ generation of the possible crosses among them were used to estimate the combining ability for nine characters, i. e., stem length, number of branches per plant, stem diameter, leaf length, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, number of seeds per plant, 100-seed weight and seed weight per plant. Data for F₁ hybrid and parents were subjected to the analysis method proposed by Griffing. The results obtained were summarized as follows. Mean squares of general combining ability(GCA), specific combining ability(SCA) and reciprocal combining ability(RCA) were significant for all characters observed. Mean squares of GCA were higher than those of SCA and RCA in number of branches per plant, stem diameter, leaf length, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, number of seeds per plant, 100-seed weight and seed weight and seed weight per plant. Variety Gimbae showed the highest GCA effect for number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant and seed weight per plant and positively high effects of GCA were observed from variety Gosung#1 in stem diameter, 100-seed weight, and from variety Gosung#2 stem length, number of branches per plant, leaf length, from Jinhae in number of seeds per pod In SCA effects, hybrids in Gosung#1×Gosung#2 were wxhibited positively high for stem length, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, number of seeds per plant and seed weight per plant, and high SCA effects for number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant and seed weight per plant were found positively in Gosung#3×jinhae. In RCA effects, hybrids in Gosung#2×Gosung#3 were exhibited positively high for number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, 100-seed weight and seed weight per plant and high RCA effects for stem length, leaf length, number of pods per plant, and seed weight per plant were found positively in Gosung#1×Gosung#2.

      • 유지종자 게놈 DNA의 분리에 관한 연구

        일반적으로 고등식물의 DNA 분리시 최종 genomic DNA에 존재하는 polysaccaride류 및 polyphenol류와 같은 물질들은 제한효소 반응이나 PCR 반응 혹은 기타 다른 반응들을 저해하는 요인을 작용해왔다. 따라서 genomic DNA추출액에 존재하는 저해물질을 제거하기 위한 노력의 일환으로 여러 연구자들이 다양한 식물종으로부터 이러한 저해물질들을 제거하는 여러가지 방법을 보고했었다. 본 실험은 식물 genome분석에 있어서 가장 먼저 고려해야 할 양질의 genomic DNA를 이들 식물로부터 분리하는 방법을 개발하고자 이 실험이 수행되었다. 본 실험은 세가지 관점에서 중요성을 두고 실험이 수행되었으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같이 요약되어질 수 있다. 첫째는 게놈 DNA를 추출하는데 가장 중요하게 영향을 미치는 적절한 DNA추출 buffer의 조건에 중점을 두었고, DNA 추출 buffer의 조성은 200 mM Tris-HCI(PH8.5),250 mM NaCI, 1.5%SDS, 10mM EDTA (PH 8.0), 1% Sodium deoxycholate, 1% NP-40(w/v), 5mM thiourea 그리고 10mM DTT로 구성되어질 때 가장 적합하다는 사실을 얻었다. 둘째는 genomic DNA의 분리에 있어 최종 추출액에 존재하는 polysaccharide를 제거시키기위해서는 0.35 volume의 ethanol 이 아주 효과적으로 polysaccharide를 침전시킬 수 있다는 것을 보여주었다. 세번째는 본 실험에 의해 추출된 genomic DNA에 제한효소 buffer가 섞여졌을 때 생기는 불용성물질을 제거하기 위해서는 50mM NaCI과 10mM MgCI2가 첨가되었을때 제한효소 반응을 저해하는 침전물들을 제거할 수 있다는 반응을 저해하는 침전물들을 제거할 수 있다는 사실이 본 실험에서 검증되었다. 이러한 실험을 통해 분리한 genomic DNA를 분광광도계로 측정한 결과 1.6-1.7의 값을 얻었으며, 제한효소 반응과 Southern blotting 분석 결과로 볼때 본 실험에 의해 분리한 genomic DNA가 양질의 DNA라는 사실을 알 수가 있었다. 본 실험방법은 참깨와 들깨의 종자유 뿐만 아니라 polysaccaride류가 다량 함유된 유사한 화학적 구성인자를 지닌 다른 종자 식물에도 적용되어질 수 있을 것이라 기대되어진다. A reliable method for isolating quality genomic DNA from seeds of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) and perilla (Perilla frutescens) was developed. The key feature of this method was that polysaccharides and other insoluble materials which have an inhibitory effect on various reactions of plant molecular studies were completely eliminated from the final genomic DNA preparations by treatments of MgCl2, NaCL and ethanol. Our method was very effective for the oilseeds of both plants. Using this method, successful genomic libraries were constructed from the genomic DNA of both sesame and perilla oilseeds.

      • 農村住民의 農藥使用에 대한 知識, 態度 및 農藥中毒에 관한 硏究

        This survey has tried to investigate the respondents' characteristics, knowledge, attitude and poisoning in using pesticides in 7 Meyon districts of Cheollanambuk Do province, where 837 inhabitants were selected, during 4 months from July, 1981 to October, 1981, making use of questionaires. The results obtained from this study are as followings, 1. In purchasing pesticides, 49% of the respondents obtained it from an agricultural co-operative, and 34.3% of them from an agricultural co-operative and pesticide shops. 98% of them transported the pesticides separately. 2. 50.9% of the respondents kept the pesticides in a barn or a corner of the yard and 26.8% of them in a storehouse. 3. In spraying the pesticides, 56.5% of the respondents made plans for the spraying before hand and 8.6% of them were prepared for pesticide-poisoning before the spraying. 4. Before using the pesticide, 68.1% of the respondents always read an explanatory note and 83.3% of them examined the spraying equiment. 5. In the use of protection equipment against pesticide-poisoning, gloves were used by 19.5% of the repondents, masks by 81.6% goggles by 2.0%, boots by 11.1% and hats by 87.6%. 6. Spraying time for pesticide was 3-4 hour in 46.7% of the respondents, and averagely 4.1 hours. 47.8 of the respondents rested for 1-9 minutes during spraying the pesticides and 40.1% of them for 10-19 minute. 7. 42.9% of the respondents did not smoke during spraying the pesticides and 58.3% of them did not take a meal. 8. 72.8% of the respondents sprayed the pesticides against the direction of the wind and 26.0% of them sprayed regardles of the wind direction. 9. After spraying the pesticides, 67.7% of the respondents took a bath and 58.9% of them washed their equipment. 10. Pesticide bottles and package papers were buried under the ground by 38.1% by the respondents, dumped into the garbage by 32.5% of them and into fields by 13.4% of them, And 10.8% of the respondents returned them to the agricultural co-operative after collecting the bottles and package papers. 11. The remnants of the pesticides after spraying were kept safely for reuse by 52.8% of the respondents and dumped into a field by 23.3% of them. 12. 24.9% of the respondents used the pesticides only for agriculture, purposes and but 62.8% of them utilized them in disinfection of toilets and domestic sewage besides for the agricultral use. 13. Through abuse of pesticides, injury to man and beast, occured in 87.2% of the cases and 12.8% of them were indifferent to pesticides abuse. 48.1% of respondents recognized the destruction of the ecology but 48.9% of them did take no interest in the fact. 14. Knowledge for the pesticide-poisoning was acquired from their neighbours by 33.0% of the repondents, radio by 20.3% of them, leaders of the new village movement and the head of a village by 17.7%, a health center by 6.7% and newspaper and jounals by 4.9%. 15. 37.9% of the respondents had experience in pesticide-poisoning; The poisoning symptoms were, vertigo (35.3%), mausea (21.8%), headache (19.6%), dyspnea (8.2%), myatonia (5.0%), lacrimation (3.2%), and salivation (2.2%). 16. Frequency of experience of pesticide-poisoning was: the first time (51%), and 2nd time (21.5%), and 3rd time (14.2). After poisoning, 46.1% of the respondents took the rest, 41.2% of them went to a hospital and pharmacy, and 39.1% of them did not take any measures. 17. People engaged in agriculture for a long time had high frequencies of experience of pesticide-poisoning(P<0.05). 18. In cases in which emergency measures were prepared for pesticide-poisoning before using agricultural pesticides, rates of poisoning were significantly desreased(P<0.05).

      • 2000-2001년 서울 북부 지역 홍역 유행의 양상

        Purpose : To investigate the clinical features of measles outbreak, we studied epidemics of measles during 2000-2001 in northern Seoul district. Materials and Methods : Among 208 patients under 15 years of age who visitied or admitted to our hospital from April. 2000 to February, 2001, we selected 160 patients whose measles IgM antibody was positive. We investigated the age, clinical manifestation, vaccination history, measles IgG antibody. Results : Forty five percent of the patients were under 12 monthes of age, 30.6% were 12-48 months of age and the rest of the patients were over 48 months of age. This epidemic started in April, 2000 and the number of patients increased abruptly in November, reached to peak in December, after then decreased. Fever, cough, and rash were observed in all patients but rhinorrhea in 69%, conjunctivitis in 49%, and Koplik spot in 65.6%. Complication was noted in 74% of patients, and the most common complication was pneumonia(54.4%), followed by gastroenteritis(28%) and acute otitis media and bronchitis. 32.2% of patients had a history of more than one-dose vaccination, and two-dose of vaccination in 12% of patients. Positive rate of Measles IgG antibody was 92% in vaccinated group. Conclusion : Routine vaccination of single measles vaccine and enhancement of revaccination at ages of 4-6 years is necessary to prevent outbreaks when measles are prevalent. More studies are required to investigate the cause of high rate of primary vaccine failure.

        하악 전돌증 환자의 구내 하악골 상행지 골절단술전후의 하악골 운동양상 및 저작근 근전도 변화에 관한 연

        악구강계는 측두하악관절, 근육신경계, 치아, 그리고 지지조직의 복합적 구성체로 되어있어 다양한 구조를 이루고 있으며, 밀접한 생리적 관계를 유지하고 있다. 특히 하악은 저작근을 포함한 여러 근육을 운동원으로 하여 각종 기능을 수행하고 있으며, 이들 근기능의 활성도는 치근막을 비롯한 악관절과 근육 등의 여가 가지 형태의 수용기를 거쳐 말초 신경계와 중추신경계의 복잡한 경로와 기전에 의해서 조절되어지는데, 교정치료, 특히 교정을 동반한 악교정 수술시에는 이러한 악구강계의 변화와 구강내 여러감각 수용기의 변화, 근활성도의 변화가 심하게 나타나며, 이는 하악골의 기능변화를 초래하게 된다. 이에 저자는 최근 급증하는 악교정수술환자의 하악골 근육의 생리적 활성도나 하악골의 운동변화를 분석하여 보다 r객관적인 술전 및 술후의 평가기준을 제시하고자, Biopak을 이용하여 정상교합자와 하악전돌증을 주소로 내원하여 악교정수술을 시행받은 골격성 III급 부정교합자의 하악기능 양상을 총괄적으로 비교분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 각 군간의 근활성도 비교시 resting시에는 술전군이 정상군에 비해 더 큰 근활성도를 나타내었고, 수술후 그 측정치가 점차 감소함을 볼 수 있었다. clenching시에는 술전군의 교근과 전측두근의 근활성도가 정상군에 비해 더 감소되어 있었고 수술후 다시 증가하여 수술전과 술후 6개월군 사이에 통계적 유의차가 관찰되었다. 2. 각 근육 활성도 간의 비교시 resting시에는 전측두근의 활성도가 나머지 근육에 비해 다소 증가된 양상을 보였으나 통계적 유의차는 없었고, clenching시네는 모든 group에서 전측두근과 교근의 활성도가, swallowing시에는 악이복근의 활성도가 통계적 유의차를 보이며 크게 나타났다. 3. 하악운동범위의 비교시 전반적으로 술저군에서 제한된 운동 범위를 나타내었으며 최대개구량은 술후 6개월에, 전방 운동량은 술후 3개월에 유의성 있는 증가를 보였다. Stomatognathic system is a complex one that is composed of TMJ, neuromuscular system, teeth and connective tissue, and all its components are doing their parts to maintain their physiological relationships. Mandible, in particular, performs various functions such as mastication, speech, and deglutition; the muscular activities that determine such functions are signalled by numerous types of proprioceptors that exist in periodontal membrane, TMJ, and muscles to be controlled by complicated pathways and mechanics of peripheral and central nervous system. Orthodontic treatment, especially when accompanied by orthognathic surgery, brings dramatic changes of stomatognathic system such as intraoral proprioceptors and muscle activities and thus, changes in patterns of mandibular function result. The author tried to analyze changes in patterns of mandibular movement and physiologic activities of surrounding muscles in Skeletal Class III orthognathic surgery patients who presently show a great increase in numbers. The purpose of this study was to draw some objective guidelines in evaluation functional aspects of orthognathic surgery patients. Mandibular functional analysis using Biopak was performed for skeletal Class III prognathic patients who underwent IVRO(Intraoral Vertical Ramus Osteotmy), and the following results were obtained: 1. Resting EMG was greater in pre-surgical group than the control group, and it showed gradual decrease after the surgery. Clenching EMG of masseter and anterior temporalis of pre-surgical group was smaller than those of control group; they also increased post-surgically, and significant difference was found between pre-surgical and post-surgical(6 months) groups. 2. Resting EMG of anterior temporalis was greater than that of all the other muscles, but there was no significant difference. Clenching EMG of anterior temporalis and masseter were greater than those of the other muscles with statistical difference. In swallowing, digastric muscle showed the highest EMG with statistical significance. 3. Limited range of mandibular movement was shown in pre-surgical group. Significant increase in maximum mouth opening was observed six months post-surgically, and significant increase in protrusive movement was observed three months post-surgically.

      • 사무직 근로자의 수면의 질 및 직무스트레스와 우울과의 관련성

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the degree of depression, sleep quality, job stress and their association among office workers. Method: A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 147 workers employed in 5 big enterprises, and 5 small and medium enterprises from October 21 to November 21, 2012. The questionnaires included socio-demographic and health-related characteristics, job-related characteristics, sleep quality, job stress (KOSS) and depression (CES-D). Result: Among all subjects, 23.1% was in the depression group (21 points and over in the CES-D score). Depressive level was positively correlated with job stress and quality of sleep. The adjusted odd ratio for the effects of sleep quality and job stress on depression significantly increased in the depression group compared to that of the normal group. Multiple regression analysis revealed that the following factors of influence had combined explanatory powers on depression: BMI, life satisfaction, quality of sleep, and job stress. Conclusion: The study revealed that complicated influences were exerted on the level of depression by variable factors, as well as socio-demographic characteristics, health-related characteristics, quality of sleep, and job stress. Specifically, the level of depression was influenced by the quality of sleep and job stress.

      • Wavelength and repetition rate tunable optical pulse source using a chirped fiber Bragg grating and a nonlinear optical loop mirror

        <P>We experimentally demonstrate a simple and novel scheme for tunable real-repetition-rate multiplication, based on the combined use of fractional Talbot effect in a linearly tunable chirped fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and cross-phase modulation (XPM) effect in a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). By tuning the group-velocity dispersion of the chirped FBG fabricated with the S-bending method using a uniform FBG, we obtain high quality pulses at pseudorepetition rates of 20/spl sim/50 GHz from an original 8.5-ps 10-GHz soliton pulse train. We subsequently convert this pseudorate multiplication into a real-rate multiplication using XPM effect in an NOLM. A wavelength tuning is also achieved over a /spl sim/15-nm range.</P>

        A STUDY ON SURFACE ALTERATION OF IMPLANT SCREWS AFTER FUNCTION

        Statement of problem. Surface alteration of the implant screws after function may be associated with mechanical failure. Theses metal fatigue appears to be the most common cause of structural failure. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate surface alteration of the implant screws after function through the examination of used and unused implant screws in SEM(scanning electron microscope). Materials and methods. In this study, abutment screws(Steri-oss, 3i), gold retaining screw(3i) and titanium retaining screw(3i) were retrieved from patients. New, unused abutment and retaining screws were prepared for control group. Each of the old, used screws was retrieved with a screwdriver. And retrieved implant complex of Steri-oss system was prepared for this study. Then, SEM investigation and EDS analysis of abutment and retaining screws were performed. And SEM investigation of cross-sectioned sample of retrieved implant complex was performed. Results. In the case of new, unused implant screws, as maunfactured circumferential grooves are regularly examined and screw thread are sharply remained. Before ultrasonic cleansing of old, used implant screw, a lot of accumulation and corrosion products were existed. After ultrasonic cleansing of old, used implant screws, circumferential grooves as examined before function were randomly deepened and scratches increased. Also, dull screw thread was examined. More surface alterations after function were examined in titanium screw than gold screw. And more surface alteration was examined when retrieved with driver than retrieved without driver. Conclusions. These surface alteration after function may result in the screw instability. Regularly cleansing and exchange of screws was recommended. We recommend the use of gold screw rather than titanium screw, and careful manipulation of the driver.

      • Dispersion-compensating Raman/EDFA hybrid amplifier recycling residual Raman pump for efficiency enhancement

        <P>We experimentally demonstrate a novel concept of the dispersion-compensating Raman/erbium-doped fiber amplifier hybrid amplifier recycling residual Raman pump for increase of overall power conversion efficiency. The proposed dispersion-compensating hybrid amplifier system has only one pump source for Raman amplification in the dispersion-compensating fiber (DCF) and the residual pump power after the DCF is recycled for secondary signal amplification in an erbium-doped fiber cascaded to the DCF. Using the proposed scheme, we achieve the significant enhancement of both signal gain and effective gain-bandwidth by 15 dB (small signal gain) and 20 nm, respectively, compared to the performance of the Raman-only amplifier.</P>
