This study compared theoretical, empirical and filed monitoring results in deformation of the earth retaining wall occurring in each excavation step. The following show the conclusions of this study. (1) The theoretically predicted horizontal displacement was greater than the measured value in general. (2) Empirical equations showed diverse results but the result of Pecks equation appeared to be the most similar to the measured value. (3) Application of measured values appropriately to the field requires feedback analyses, which repeatedly adjust soil parameters that were set in design.

This study suggests the most reasonable analytical and reinforcement methods for possible collapse of underground caused by levee construction on the soft ground. We inspected stability of levee in the field where heaving caused by sliding had occurred. We applied three reinforcement methods: Surcharge method, Sand Compaction Pile method, and Deep mixing method, all of which met the allowable safe factor. However, Surcharge method requires great amount of costs for land compensation and Sand Compaction Pile method had disadvantages of higher construction cost and instability of levee caused by vibration. Therefore, Deep mixing method is considered the most proper method.
32비트 부동소숫점 디지탈 신호처리 프로세서에 의한 멀티프로세서 구조에 관한 연구

In this paper, the effective multi-processor architecture of 32 bit floating point digital signal processor(TMS 320C 30) has been studied. This multiprocessor system consists of one master module and several process modules. Master module can communicate with host computer or sample analog input signal and stores the samples in common memory. Each process module can access common memory module under the control of common bus arbitration logic and detailed circuits of this arbitration logic has been studied. In addition, local memory decode part, common memory decode part and wait signal generation logic have been suggestd.
사염화탄소로 유발된 간손상에서의 효소 활성도의 변화로 본 홍화자 분획물의 간손상 보호 작용

본 연구소에서는 사염화탄소로 유발된 간손상에 대한 홍화자 메탄올 추출물과 이를 계통 분획한 분획물의 보호 효과를 이미 보고하였다. 본 실험에서는 혈장과 조직 생화학적 분석으로 홍화자 분획물의 간보호 효과를 확인하며, 간보호 작용에 대한 기전을 살펴보기 위하여 약물 대사 효소에 미치는 영향을 측정하였다. 홍화자 butanol subfractions 중 BS-5 분획물은 CCl_4로 간손상을 유발시킨 흰쥐에서의 혈장 ALT와 AST 활성과 간조직 중 cholesterol and triglyceride를 감소시켰으며, 이러한 BS-5 분획물의 CCl_4로 유발된 간손상에 대해 보호 작용은 cytochrome P450 감소와 glutathione S-transferase의 활성 증가에 기인된 것으로 생각된다. Previous studies have shown that methanol extract and its butanol fraction of Carthamus tinctorius L. Semen have the hepatoprotective effect on the CCl_4-induced hepatotoxicity. The hepatoprotective effect of subfractions has been evaluated by analyzing blood and hepatocyte biochemical analyses and biotransformation enzyme analyses. Treatment of BS-5 subfraction has significantly decreased the activities of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. In addition, the levels of cholesterol and triglyceride in liver have been decreased as compared with that of CCl_4 treated rats. The hepatoprotective effect of BS-5 subfraction on the CCl_4-induced hepatotoxicity would be mediated of the attenuation of the level of cytochrome P450 and the enhancement of the activity of glutathion S-transferase.

Anisotropy in strength and deformation characteristics of isotropically consolidated sands prepared by pluviating through air was studied by plane strain compression tests. Seven types of sand of the world-wide origins were tested, which have been extensively used for research purposes. The strains for direction of maximum principal stress and direction of minimum principal stress were measured continuously from 10(-6) to 10-². The following results common for all sands were obtained. The behaviour at strains less than about 0.001% was elastic and isotropic regardless of the angle δ of the σ₁ direction relative to the bedding plane. However, the sands became gradually more anisotropic as the strain increased exceeding the elastic limit. The peak strength was noticeably anisotropic with a similar trend that the angle of internal friction φ decreased as δ decreased from 90°, and the ratio of the smallest to largest values of φ was between 0.982 and 0.90. The φ has a minimum at δ=0°∼30 depending on the types of sand. The residual strength became isotropic again.
실내요소시험에 있어서 공시체와 단면과의 마찰경감에 관한 연구

In order to find the proper composition of lubrication layer to be used for element tests of granular materials in the laboratory, a series of direct shear tests between a granular material specimen and a lubrication layer was performed. The granular materials used ranged from a fine sand to a gravel with D50=0.16mm∼1.85mm. The lubrication layer consisted of a layer of silicone grease and a latex rubber disk, and its variations. Based on the test results, the following points are shown: For Silver Leighton Buzzard Sand(D50=0.62mm) and Hime Gravel(D50=1.85mm), a proper amount of powder should be added to the original grease in order to improve the quality of lubrication by preventing the squeezing out of grease from the places of stress concentration in the proximity of particles indenting the lubrication layer. At the same time, the amount of powder should not be too much in order not to increase the shear resistance of a mixture of grease and powder. Fly ash is suggested as a proper type of powder. By this method, even for Hime gravel, a low value of φμ of around 0.8 degrees at normal stress of 1.5∼70.kgf/㎠ can be obtained.

In this paper a time reduction algorithm for large vocabulary speech recognition system has been studied. TDNN(Time Delay Neural Network) was used to classify vowel using phonetical fetures. To increase performance of vowel classification, modular TDNN architecture associated with 2 states input layer has been suggested.
