        컨테이너 터미널 ERP 시스템 구축 방안

        급속한 세계화로 터미널간의 경쟁이 치열해지면서 기존 시설의 효율적인 운영 및 관리가 터미널의 경쟁력과 생산성을 향상시키는 중요한 요소로 부각되고 있다. 하지만 우리나라 컨테이너 터미널은 양적 확장에 치중한 반면 관리와 운영의 효율성에 대해서는 다소 소홀히 해 왔다. 그리고 대부분의 컨테이너 터미널은 자사 운영시스템을 저문 업체에 의뢰하여 개발함으로써 컨테이너 터미널마다 상이한 시스템이 구축되어 시스템의 유지 보수비용이 많이 발생하고 있다. 최근 터미널 개발과 운영 자체가 사업화 되고 있기에 향후 터미널 운영시스템에 대한 수요는 증가할 것이다. 그래서 터미널마다 다른 운영시스템을 표준화하고 국제화한 ERP 형태의 통합 운영 시스템의 개발이 요구된다 하겠다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 주문형 방식에 의존하던 컨테이너 터미널 운영시스템의 고비용, 비 통합화, 개발기간의 장기화 등의 단점을 극복하기 위해 컨테이너 터미널 ERP 시스템이란 새로운 개념을 제안한다. 이 컨테이너 터미널 ERP 시스템은 통합된 운영시스템 구축, 개발기간의 단출, 개발비용의 절감, 쉬운 업그레이드를 가능하게 해 컨테이너 터미널의 글로벌 사업에 전략적 도구로써 역할을 하게 될 것으로 기대된다. The major characteristics of ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning)are enterprise-wide system that covers all the business functions and information resources, integrated database, built-in best industry practice, packaged software and open architecture. ERP enables reduction of system development time, flexibility, standardization of workflow and effective business planning capability. ERP is mainly for manufacturing industry. However, the principles of ERP can also be applied to container terminal. We have clustered the workflow of container terminal, and analyzed the business process to generate the best workflow. The integrated database is designed to eliminate redundancy and keep integration. The core of ERP for container terminal is the planning facility such as berth planning and yard planning. The planning capability is very tightly coupled with data flow from client entities such as shipping companies. The ERP can handles the existing problems of container terminal operation that are mainly caused by lack of integration of whole of information resource in container terminal, ad-hoc and poor planning capability, disconnected and incorrect data from client companies. ERP approach not only van resolve the problems of container terminals but also promote adoption of information systems for container terminals in the world that have not yet implemented terminal operation systems.

        A Study on the Type of Automatic Yard Operation for a Container Terminal

        In order to cope with improvement of labor cost and cargo volume, Korean ports, especially Busan port, are in need of many new facilities. Of course, current facilities should be fully used, and at the same time it needs to make every effort to maximize its productivity as well as cost saving. To this end, this study has decided to focus on automatic yard operation suitable to the domestic container terminal environments, making a survey of many advanced container terminals, trying to find out their common factors, and finally suggesting several alternatives based on the combination of these factors. Also, this study has suggested the present value of initial investment and operating cost by alternative, and at the same time presented the relationship between cargo handling volume and cost/revenue of the optimal alternative, so that it may be of help in decision making.

        Down-regulation of oxidative stress and COX-2 and iNOS expressions by dimethyl lithospermate in aged rat kidney

        Oxidative stress has been proposed to be a major cause of aging and many age-related diseases. Peroxynitrite ($ONOO^-$), formed from the reaction of superoxide ($^{\bullet}O_2{^-}$) and nitric oxide (NO), is a cytotoxic species that can oxidize various cellular components, such as proteins, lipids, and DNA. The present study investigated whether dimethyl lithospermate (DML), isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza, modulates age-related increases of $ONOO^-$, NO, and reactive species (RS) levels and expressions of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). For this study, 20-month-old rats were intraperitoneally injected with 5 or 10 mg/kg/day of DML, and 6-month-old rats were used as young control animals. Our results indicated that DML reduces $ONOO^-$ levels in a dose-dependent manner. The data also revealed that DML has significant inhibitory effects on NO metabolites and RS generation in a dose-dependent manner during aging. Furthermore, the results of Western blot analysis revealed that DML treatment reduces age-associated increases in COX-2 and iNOS expressions. Thus, this study found that DML caused the decrease of renal oxidative stress and COX-2 and iNOS expressions in aged rats. The significance of the present study is the finding of DML in its potential application against the aging process.

      • Development of the Freight Forwarder Information System adopting RIA

        In the case of international trade, the role of 3PL (third-party logistics) providers, in recent years, has drawn more attention. At the same time, computers have become faster, cheaper, and more widely available. Thus. information systems have become commonplace to freight forwarders and the increased efficiencies to be gained in improving logistics has pushed managers to explorer a number of new ideas, technologies and methods of information management and automation. However, many companies are encountering difficulties to choose an information system flexible and satisfying all needs carrying on business. In this study RIA (rich internet application) technology based on Java Swing was introduced to the .freight forwarder information systems to provide richer user interfaces and a flexible web-based application. Also considered giving stakeholders in charge of logistics especially in SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) cost-effective and performance-effective solutions with good accessibility of internet for smooth operations of their businesses.

      • Development of Ports Carbon Emission Estimation System

        In line with the ever-tightening environmental regulations, countries all over the world are exerting efforts for the establishment of eco-friendly policies. Also, in the area of maritime and ports, the greening of the maritime and ports logistics area is emerging as an urgent task because of the serious level of pollution and increased carbon emissions in port regions. In order to respond to climate change within this age of “low-carbon green growth,” the construction of eco-friendly green ports becomes increasingly important. As such, many countries in the world are making various efforts to establish policy directions for the construction of eco-friendly ports. To reduce greenhouse gas, a systematic and reliable estimation system is very important. Accordingly, this research developed and suggested a system that can estimate CO2 emission from port facilities for the construction of green ports and the reduction of carbon emissions. It is expected that this system will be used as a basic data system in the policies for climate change response and greenhouse gas reduction, thus providing a more efficient management of carbon through a dimensional analysis of its emission sources.

      • Cyber Shipping Exchange : Design Principles

        Cyber exchange is a cost-effective approach to trading goods and information among multiple sellers and buyers. The Shipping industry includes many global entities such as shippers, liners, ship owners and shipping agents. Marine insurance companies and ship repairers and many other groups are also supporting the industry. However, international shipping exchanges are located in only a few cities around the world. It's our belief that a shipping market can operate online so that market participants conduct their dealing while residing where they are with more efficiency manner, preferable prices and with a larger pool of potential trading partners. This paper presents a Korean government's project for building a cyber shipping exchange. The exchange covers ship sales and purchases, charters and freight futures. The workflows of each business were analyzed and designed to fit an online environment. The project includes the design of trading mechanisms, online documents, data flow, data storage and security. Online match making and trading mechanisms such as auction, reverse auction, and bid are used. The whole trading process involves multiple organizations and business processes. So, this paper focuses on how each organization would play their roles so users can complete transactions with an integrated and transparent view. The cyber shipping exchange serves also as maritime portal site that links to other sites for vertical and horizontal cooperation, and serves as a database of information with a global perspective. This paper also issues and discusses the justification of an online shipping exchange.

        A Study on Cooperation Model for Ports in the Northeast Asia

        본 연구에서는 동북아 경제에서 큰 비중을 차지하는 항만물류산업이 서로 협력할 수 있는 새로운 모델, PLCM(Port-Logistics Chain Management)을 제시한다. PLCM이란 한 공급사슬 내에 수직적인 관계의 주체들이 서로 정보를 공유 및 교환하고 협력을 하기 위한 SCM(Supply Chain Management)과는 달리 PLCM은 서로 수평적인 관계에 있는 항만들이 공통의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 그리고, 전체 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위하여 서로 정보를 공유 및 교환하고, 협력하는 모델을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 동북아 물동량에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 항만중에서 부산항, 상해항, 동경항만을 대상으로 PLCM의 개념과 시스템 개발 방안을 제시하였다. 이 시스템은 사용자 요구조사를 기반으로 항만에 관련된 정보를 통합적으로 제공하는 “Northeast Asian Ports Information Integration System”와 각 항만간에 EDI 문서를 교환할 수 있는 “Document Exchange System among Northeast Asian Ports”으로 구성되어 있다. 그리고 이 시스템의 타당성과 적용가능성을 확인하기 위해 중국상해항에서 출항하여 부산항에 입항하는 프로세스에 개념적으로 적용하였다. In this research we present a new conceptual model, PLCM(Port-Logistics Chain Management), which can cooperate each other in the port-logistic industry that occupy a heavy rain in the Northeast Asian economy. PLCM(Port-Logistics Chain Management) synthetically manages the logistic chain and information laying stress on the port. Unlike SCM, which has a vertical relationship between the main groups to cooperate each other, PLCM has a horizontal relationchip among the ports to achieve common purpose and to improve their the whole competitive power. In this research we present a concept of PLCM and a specific plan to develop a system for PLCM targetting Pusan, Shanghai, and Tokyo Port which occupy a heavy rain in the Northeast Asian port industry. This system is composed of integrated information system and EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) document exchange system according to the special quality of user's request information. And in order to prove its feasibility and validity, the case study sailing from Shanghai to Busan has been applied to this study.

        A Study on the Product Categorization Model for Efficient Search in On-line Chartering

        Off line ship chartering is done nearly through the brokers. Because of the international scale of chartering market, brokers spend too much times and costs on searching the most appropriate product which the consumers want. In this research, we propose the on-line Charter Product Categorization Model to search the products efficiently in the Cyber Chartering System. This Model will make concerned parties of the ship chartering to get unified product information efficiently, and to select the most appropriate product. In this research, we classified the ship chartering products into categories of cargo, ship type, and sea routes, and defined mutual relation of each products. and we verified that this classification is necessary to search the products through the product searching experiment.
