A study on Safe Pork Consumption Behavior in Taiwan
( Cheng-wei Chen ),( Yu-ping Fan ),( Cheng-hsing Yeh ) 한국농업경제학회 2009 KOREAN JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS(KJAT) Vol.50 No.3
Pork is the most popular meat in Taiwan, that makes hog industry an important agriculture industry. The government had lauched the traceability system of agricultural products from 2004. It is needed to appreciate the policy affecting consumers’ willingness to buy safe pork for hog industry to separate market. This research use consumer decision process model and market segmentation to separate four respective factors as age group, educational background, family income, and the population element as family structure to find out the habit of safe pork consumption. This study was based on household as its unit, and had conducted questionnaire survey upon the primary purchasers of pork, which were then analyzed with descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, and the logit model so as to differentiate the preference of demographic characteristics among consumers with various features. This research indicated consumers with more members of household, older, less educated, less income, less cognitive about pork risk would have higher possibility to buy warm pork. Consumers with female, more educated, more income, more cognitive about pork risk would have higher willingness to pork with traceability system. However consumers in Taiwan still prefer buy warm body pork, little perception about pork marketing risk. The government should improve pork safety by more inspecting hog farms, processing factories and markets and educating consumers the knowledge of safe pork by television broadcasting and other mass media.

NbN films were prepared by radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering and then employed as diffusion barriers between Cu and Si. The microstructure of the NbN films was an assembly of very small columnar crystallites with a cubic structure. To investigate the properties as diffusion barriers, we performed metallurgical reactions of Cu/NbN0.8/Si, Cu/Nb/Si and Cu/TaN0.7/Si for comparisons. The sheet resistance increased dramatically after annealing above 750°C for Cu/NbN0.80/Si, and above 500°C for both Cu/Nb/Si and Cu/TaN0.7/Si. The interfaces were deteriorated seriously and formation of Cu3Si was observed when the sheet resistance was significantly increased. The diffusion coefficient of Cu in NbN barrier films was estimated by using the change of resistance (ΔRs/Rs %). Compared with TaN0.7, NbN0.8 films possess larger grain size and lower Cu diffusion coefficient. Our results suggest that the NbN film can be used as a diffusion barrier for Cu metallization as compared to the well-known TaN film.
Microwave dielectric properties of (1 - x)(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3–x(Na0.5La0.5)TiO3 ceramic system
Cheng-Liang Huang,Jhih-Yong Chen,Yen-Hsing Wang,Bing-Jing Li 한국물리학회 2009 Current Applied Physics Vol.9 No.6
The microstructures and the microwave dielectric properties of the (1 - x)(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3– x(Na0.5La0.5)TiO3 ceramic system were investigated. Two-phase system was confirmed by the XRD patterns and the EDX analysis. A co-existed second phase (Mg0.95Co0.05)Ti2O5 was also detected. The microwave dielectric properties are strongly related to the density and the matrix of the specimen. A new microwave dielectric material 0.88(Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3–0.12(Na0.5La0.5)TiO3, possessing an excellent combination of dielectric properties: εr ~22.36, Q × f ~ 110,000 GHz (at 9 GHz), τf ~ 2.9 ppm/℃), is proposed as a candidate dielectric for GPS patch antennas. A value-added analysis of trade in Taiwan and Korea’s ICT industries
Hsing-Chun Lin,Shih-Hsun Hsu,Ruey-Wan Liou,Ching-Cheng Chang 한국무역학회 2016 Journal of Korea trade Vol.20 No.1
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to extricate value-added exports in information and communications technology (ICT) industry earned by Taiwan and Korea. Additionally, the authors decompose Taiwan and Korea’s gross exports into various meaningful components. Design/methodology/approach – The authors use the inter-country input-output (ICIO) table which endows with cost structures of industries as well as trade information, facilitating in keeping track of the flow of products and value-added. The ICIO table used in this paper comes from the World Input-Output Database. The authors also use the way Wang et al. (2013) decomposed the intermediate goods exports into various components to provide further insights. Findings – The empirical results indicate that Taiwan and Korea’s ICT export to the world shrink by 47.8 and 40.9 percent when the trades are measured in value-added terms. Taiwan and Korea’s ICT export will also decrease by 75.1 and 57.8 percent. From the viewpoint of value added in trade, the share of value added embodied in Taiwan and Korea’s gross ICT exports continued to decrease and reached 24.9 and 42.2 percent in 2011, while the components of pure double counted terms kept growing in recent years. Originality/value – With global value chains flourishing in recent years, conventional trade statistics not only fails to highlight the vertical specialization among different countries, but also distorts the measurement of a country’s competitiveness. This paper extricates value-added exports in ICT industry earned by Taiwan and Korea and bring into focus the importance of trade in value added.
Occult Interpositional Rotator Cuff - an Extremely Rare Case of Traumatic Rotator Cuff Tear
Cheng-Li Lin,Wei-Ren Su,I-Ming Jou,Wei-Hsing Chih 대한영상의학회 2012 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.13 No.1
Traumatic interposition of a rotator cuff tendon in the glenohumeral joint without recognizable glenohumeral dislocation is an unusual complication after shoulder trauma. Here we report the clinical and imaging presentations of a 17-year-old man with trapped rotator cuff tendons in the glenohumeral joint after a bicycle accident. The possible trauma mechanism is also discussed.
