朱熹와 李退溪:理發氣生、氣發理生내의 理에 대한 바른 이해

본고에서 본인은 朱熹(1130~1200)와 李退溪(1501~1571)의 理 에 대한 유일무이한 개념화에 초점을 맞추어 송-명 유교에 따른 존재-우주론의 중요한 측면에 초점을 맞추었다. 본인은 존재우주 론과 개념적-논리적이라는 두 가지 수준의 이해에서 理의 창의적 -변혁적 힘을 분명히 도출했고 통합의 논리학이 어떻게 공허의 理를 창조의 理로 변형시킬 수 있는지 보여준다. 바로 이런 변형 에 비추어 우리는 주체성의 문제 그리고 李退溪와 奇明彦사이의 토론에서 四端과 七情의 차이를 보다 잘 이해할 수 있다. 본인은 토론을 매우 상세하게 분석하여 어디에 문제의 요점이 있는지를 보여준다. 奇明彦은 아마 罗钦顺의 뒤를 이어 理发气随와 气发理 乘를 적절하게 구별하는 문제를 제기했을 것이다. 李退溪의 설득 력 있는 응답에도 불구하고, 奇明彦은 도전적이다. 해결책은 무엇 인가? 두 가지를 어떻게 조정할 것인가? 본인은 문제 자체를 적절 하게 이해하면서, 奇明彦의 의문에 적절하게 답할 수 있고 어느 면에서 李退溪는 물론 이와 관련하여 朱熹를 계몽적이면서 또한 곤혹하게 하는 理의 창의성에 대한 그들의 통찰력으로부터 구할 수 있는 도덕적 감정과 자연적 감정 사이에서 변형의 논리학을 시 사한다. 마지막으로, 본인은 李退溪와 奇明彦의 입장을 통합하기 위해 理发气生、气发理生에 대한 논제를 제시한다.

「콤민태른」이 中國에서의 寄生政策을 전개한 것은, 「콤미태른」의 당시 戰略一般論議로 보아야 할 것이다. 즉, 「콤민태른」의 제3차 집행위원회의 결의에 근거한 「大衆에로」(To the Mass)의 구호가 그 함축된 意義를 잘 나타내어 준다고 할 수 있다. 거기에서 파생된 戰略的 표현이 이른바 「東方迂廻論」이라고 하겠다. 이는 Lenin에 의해 주장된 사실이지만, 보다 구체적인 戰略은 Stalin에 의해 수립된 것으로 볼 수 있다. 따라서 이와 같은 戰略의 수립과정을 보면, 「콤민태른」의 中國政策은 그 성립 초기부터라고 하겠다. 이는 1918년에 발표된 Stalin의 「Don't forget East」란 論文에서 그 근거를 찾을 수 있다. 즉, 그는 同論文을 통하여 「단 1분동안이라도 東方을 잊을 수 없다. 왜냐하면, 東方은 世界帝國主義가 完全히 占領할 수 없는 後備力量으로 가장 믿을만한 後方이기 때문이다」고 하였다. 이는 곧, 「콤민태른」의 「東方에 대한 관심」으로 평가되어 온 사실이다. 특히 이것은 西勢의 東漸化 현상과 日本帝國主義의 「東洋化」政策에 대한 별개의 문제로 볼 수 있다는 데에 留意해야 될 것이다. 물론, 당시 中國은 西勢의 거센 침략적 파도에 핥키운 상처도 컸거니와 日本의 帝國主義政策이 겨냥하는 크다란 표적에서 벗어나지 못하고 있었던 것은 사실이다. 그러나 이러한 현상은 「콤민태른」의 世界戰略에 종속되는 객관적 상황으로 意味될 뿐이며, 반드시 그 같은 상황에 초점이 맞추어져야 할 戰略的 필연성을 말할 수는 없다. 다만 그러한 條件이 객관적으로 성립됨으로써 「콤민태른」의 戰略的 우선순위를 결정함에 미친 바 영향은 적지 않다고 보겠다. 말하자면, 당시 「콤민태른」은 「유럽」을 공격하기에는 때 이른 것으로 보았다. 그래서 戰略의 우선목표를 東方에 두었고, 그 중에서도 中樞的 존재인 中國에 두게 된 것이다. 여기에 그들이 제시할 수 있는 戰略의 조건이 民族主義였던 것으로 나타났다. 그들의 궁극적 목표는 民族의 분열과 民族主義의 여 부정이지만, 현실적 요구에 부응하기 위하여 그들의 民族主義를 부정하지 않으려고 했다. 특히 이러한 民族主義에 대한 戰略的 變容은 곧 第一次國共合作(Kuo-ming-Connunist Collaboration)으로 구체화 된 셈이다. 그래서 그들은 이를 통하여 표면상 民族主義의 자각을 일깨웠고, 나아가 中國에 대한 「中華」的 歸屬意識을 고무할 수 있었다. 그리하여 그들은 抵抗民族運動을 反政府運動으로 正當化시키려고 한 것이다. 中共의 初期 革命過程이 그러한 형태의 典型으로 이른바 「人民民主主義革命」이 된 것은, 이런 뜻에서 우연한 것이 못된다고 하겠다. 물론 당시 孫文의 입장으로는 反中華的 異質 理念과의 갈등을 극복하고, 통일된 「中華」로서의 國民黨政府가 될 수 있다고 믿었다. 또한 그를 추진할 수 있는 理念이 「三民主義」라고 했다. 그러나 「볼쉐비끼」革命을 起點으로 한 Marxism의 물결은 이른바 新思潮로 표현된 激浪을 일으킴으로써 결국 反革命이 反民族으로 통할 수 있게 되었다. 여기에서 「콤민태른」의 一國社會主義論은 Marx의 國際主義的 보편성을 띠고 正當視 될 수 있었다. 그러므로 「콤민태른」의 寄生政策은 엄격히 소련의 國家戰略에 종속되고 있다. 이는 Louis Fischer의 「The Soviet in World affairs에서도 밝혀지고 있거니와, David J. Dallin의 「蘇俄俄侵略遠東史」에서 한층 명백히 드러나고 있다. 즉, 「계급간의 共同利益이란 그 자체가 모스크바의 利益인 것이다」라는 그의 주장은 근거있는 말이다. 그래서 中共黨은 「콤민태른」의 한 支部로 만족하여 中國內의 온갖 民族利益을 헤치면서 「모스크바」의 指示에 충실할 수 밖에 없었다. 따라서 소련은 이를 보장 받기 위하여 많은 콤민태른」의 代表들을 번갈아 中國에 파견하여 國民黨政府를 현혹시키는 것으로 일관한 사실이었다.

토끼에서 Etofenprox와 Spinosad 합제의 국소자극성 시험

This study was performed to evaluation the skin and eye irritation of etofenprox 8% and spinosad 4% combination in male New Zealand White rabbits. In skin irritation test, the combination of etofenprox and spinosad did not showed any change of body weight but caused slight skin irritation with the P.I.I. (primary irritation index) value 0.25. The etofenprox and spinosad combination showed severe eye irritation 1 h, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after ocular treatment, having the A.O.I. (acute ocular irritation) value of 37.3. Therefore, these result indicated that the combination of etofenprox and spinosad might be irritant formulation on eye and skin.

Organic Thin-Film-Transistor Arrays for Active-Matrix Display on Flexible Substrate

Differently from a traditional inorganic transistor, the organic thin-film transistor can be fabricated at low temperature, so we can choose a light, thin, and cheap plastic substrate to replace glass substrate. Here, an organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) has been formed on plastic substrate. An active-matrix back plate with 64 × 128 pixels has been fabricated to drive a TNLCD. We achieved a field-effect mobility of 0.03 cm2/V·s and on/off current ratio of about 105 for the pentacene OTFT on plastic substrate. Besides vacuum deposition, these properties offer potential methods to fabricate OTFT on flat panel displays, such as spin coating, ink-jet printing, and even a roll-to-roll process.

The Emergence of Tayouan Harbour in 1624

In comparison with some other major harbours around the China Seas which may have lasted for a millennium , Tayouan bay did not become a prominent harbour until the VOC (Dutch East India Company) arrived there in 1624. In this article, the author intends to clarify the drivers behind its sudden rise. The rise of Tayouan harbour is a result of multiple interactions of different forces displayed on a specific geopolitical terrain which was created by two large-scale military confrontations in Northeast and Southeast Asia. The Imjin war (1592-1598) between China, Korea and Japan caused a political split between China and Japan, while the expanding demands in commerce compelled traders of both countries to conduct transit trade in Southeast Asian harbours. When in 1617 the Japanese Shogunate eased its pursuit of direct trade with China via Taiwan, the Fukien authorities and Japanese Red Seal (Go-shuin) operators reached a tacit agreement to keep Tayouan bay in a ‘stateless’ status. In the same year, a strong typhoon suddenly struck the Philippines Islands, and destroyed most of the Iberian fleet that originally planned to sweep the Dutch fleet from Asia once and for all. This incidental vacuum of Iberian naval forces allowed the VOC to blockade Iberian transit harbours like Macau and Manila and to harass Chinese junks bound to these harbours. In response to this threat, overseas Chinese traders residing in Japan thus planned to exploit Tayouan bay as an exceptional transit harbour. In 1622, the VOC aimed to take over Macau but failed; instead of mounting further attacks on Macau, Company forces occupied the Pescadores in order to gain access to the Chinese market. After their request for free trade was denied by the Chinese Ming court, the Dutch adapted to the strategy of overseas Chinese in Japan, and retreated to Tayouan bay to engage in the transit trade. When the corridor of silk-for-silver trade was stabilized in Tayouan bay in the 1630s, the ‘stateless’ status of Taiwan was thus altered forever, and it has remained on the map of regional geo-politics ever since.

Changes in prostate-specific antigen kinetics during androgen-deprivation therapy as a predictor of response to abiraterone in chemonaïve patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer

Purpose: Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) has a poor prognosis. Abiraterone acetate (AA), enzalutamide, and chemotherapy are first-line treatments for patients with mCRPC. This study examined prognostic factors for AA response in the form of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) kinetics throughout androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) in chemonaïve patients with mCRPC. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively included data from 34 chemonaïve patients with mCRPC who had received AA at some point between January 2017 and December 2018. We separated patients into two study arms according to the decrease in PSA percentages after use of AA for 3 months. We correlated PSA kinetics parameters with response and compared the two study groups with respect to PSA kinetics. Results: The patients’ median age was 77 years. In the total group of patients, 64% had a response to AA, whereas 35% did not. The ratio of the PSA level at nadir to the level during ADT was significantly higher in the AA-sensitive group (19.78 vs. 1.03, p=0.019). Conclusions: Patients who experienced a dramatic change in PSA level during ADT were more likely to be resistant to AA after progression to mCRPC. Chemotherapy rather than AA might be more suitable as a first-line treatment for these patients.

Scaling up the in-hospital hepatitis C virus care cascade in Taiwan

Background/Aims: Obstacles exist in facilitating hepatitis C virus (HCV) care cascade. To increase timely and accurate diagnosis, disease awareness and accessibility, in-hospital HCV reflex testing followed by automatic appointments and a late call-back strategy (R.N.A. model) was applied. We aimed to compare the HCV treatment rate of patients treated with this strategy compared to those without. Methods: One hundred and twenty-five anti-HCV seropositive patients who adopted the R.N.A. model in 2020 and another 1,396 controls treated in 2019 were enrolled to compare the gaps in accurate HCV RNA diagnosis to final treatment allocation. Results: The HCV RNA testing rate was significantly higher in patients who received reflex testing than in those without reflex testing (100% vs. 84.8%, P<0.001). When patients were stratified according to the referring outpatient department, a significant improvement in the HCV RNA testing rate was particularly noted in patients from non-hepatology departments (100% vs. 23.3%, P<0.001). The treatment rate in HCV RNA seropositive patients was 83% (83/100) after the adoption of the R.N.A. model, among whom 96.1% and 73.9% of patients were from the hepatology and non-hepatology departments, respectively. Compared to subjects without R.N.A. model application, a significant improvement in the treatment rate was observed for patients from non-hepatology departments (73.9% vs. 27.8%, P=0.001). The application of the R.N.A. model significantly increased the in-hospital HCV treatment uptake from 6.4% to 73.9% for patients from non-hepatology departments (P<0.001). Conclusions: The care cascade increased the treatment uptake and set up a model for enhancing in-hospital HCV elimination. (Clin Mol Hepatol 2021;27:136-143)
