        Effect of Total Hip Arthroplasty on Ipsilateral Lower Limb Alignment and Knee Joint Space Width: Minimum 5-Year Follow-up

        Background: This study aimed to 1) assess the effect of total hip arthroplasty (THA) on coronal limb alignment, namely, the hip–knee–ankle angle (HKA), 2) identify factors that determine changes in the HKA, and 3) determine whether alignment changes influence the knee joint space width. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 266 limbs of patients who underwent THA. Three types of prostheses with neck shaft angles (NSAs) of 132°, 135°, and 138° were used. Several radiographic parameters were measured in the preoperative and final radiographs (at least 5 years after THA). A paired t-test was used to confirm the effect of THA on HKA change. Multiple regression analysis was performed to identify radiographic parameters related to HKA changes following THA and changes in knee joint space width. Subgroup analyses were performed to reveal the effect of NSA change on the HKA change, and the proportion of total knee arthroplasty usage and changes in radiographic parameters between maintained joint space and narrowed joint space groups were compared. Results: The preoperative mean HKA was 1.4° varus and increased to 2.7° varus after THA. This change was related to changes in the NSA, lateral distal femoral angle, and femoral bowing angle. In particular, in the group with a decrease in NSA of > 5°, the preoperative mean HKA was largely changed from 1.4° varus to 4.6° varus after THA. The prostheses with NSA of 132° and 135° also led to greater varus HKA changes than those with an NSA of 138°. Narrowing of the medial knee joint space was related to changes in the varus direction of the HKA, decrease in NSA, increase in femoral offset. Conclusion: A large reduction in NSA can lead to considerable varus limb alignment after THA, which can have adverse effects on the medial compartment of the ipsilateral knee.

        後期飼料를 3주령부터 조기에 급여한 broiler肉의 흉심부, 대퇴부 및 근위를 냉장온도(4℃)에서 저장한 후 저장시간의 경과(0,8,48,96,168시간)에 따른 pH, 보수성 및 軟度의 變化를 경시적으로 分析한 結果는 다음과 같다. 1. pH의 變化를 보면 各 시험구의 部位間에는 통계적인 유의성이 없었고 저장시간의 경과에 따른 경시적인 차이를 보면 도살직후 6.68~6.77로 나타났으나 저장후 8시간이 경과될 때 pH가 5.67~5.76으로 급격히 저하되었으며 48시간이 경과되면서 부터 상승하여 이후는 서서히 회복되었다. 2. 保水性의 變化를 보면 各 시험구의 부위간에는 통계적인 유의성이 없었고 저장시간의 경과에 따른 경시적인 차이를 보면 도살직후 65.9~67.4%로 나타났으며 저장후 8시간이 경과될 때 흉심, 대퇴, 근위 모두 급격히 감소되었으나 48시간이 경과되면서 부터 증가되어 168시간 이후부터는 서서히 회복되었다. 3. 軟度의 變化는 흉심과 대퇴部位 근육에 비하여 근위가 매우 낮았고 저장기간의 경과에 따른 變化는 도살직후에 비하여 8시간이 경과될때 현저히 낮아진 후 48시간까지는 서서히 감소된후 168시간 부터는 회복되는 결과였다. 4. pH, 保水性 및 軟度等의 물리적인 性質을 究明한 바 각 처리區間에 통계적인 유의성은 인정되지 않았으며 3주령 부터 후기사료를 급여한 결과 pH, 보수성 및 연도 等에 영향을 미치지 않았다. This experiment was conducted to investigate the changes in pH, water holding capacity and tenderness as the passage of storing time(0,8,48 168 hr) after storing at 4℃ the meat cut 3 parts of leg, breast and gizzard of broiler-Hubbard at 9weeks fed early finisher diet from 3 weeks. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. In the pH changes during postmorterm storage, there were nonsignificant differences(p>0.05) between treatments. In the pH changes as storage time passed, pH immediately after slaughtering was 6.68 to 6.77 and the lowest with 5.67 to 5.76 when storage time passed 8hours and pH was again high after storage time passed 48 hours. 2. Though the changes in water holding capacity were nonsignificant differences(p>0.05) between leg, breast and gizzard meat. There was lightly difference as the storage time passed, pH immediately after slaughtering was 65.9 to 67.4%, pH of leg, breast and gizzard was decreased as the storage time passed 8 hours, but was increased as the storage time passed 48 hours. 3. The changes in tenderness were lower in gizzard in leg than breast. It was lower in the storage of 8 hours than immediately after slaughtering. After pH was gradually decreased to the storage of 48 hours, again increased from the storage of 168 hours. 4.PH, water holding capacity and tenderness analyzed in this experiment were non significant differences(p>0.05) between treatments and there was not the effect of finisher diet on the physical properties.

        APPLICATION OF TRAVELING SALESMAN PROBLEM(TSP) FOR DECISION OF OPTIMAL PRODUCTION SEQUENCE

        In the present study a reliable and structural decision system for production sequence of polymeric products is developed. Minimization of the amount of off-specs are the main objective in the decision of production sequence to maximize profit. Off-specs are generated when the production sequence of polymeric products is changed. The amount of off-specs depends on changes of product grades. In the present study we applied the traveling salesman problem (TSP) to achieve optimal decision of production sequence. To solve the optimal decision problem formulated by TSP, we employed three different approaches such as Branch and Bound (B&B) method. Dynamic Programming (DP) method and Hopfield Neural Network (HNN) method. Production sequences computed based on the actual plant off-spec data were compared with the sequences employed in the actual plant operation. From the comparison the decision method proposed in the present study showed increased profits and reduced off-specs.

      • Clinical application of shear wave elastography (SWE) in the diagnosis of benign and malignant breast diseases.

        <P>Shear wave elastography (SWE) is an emerging technique which can obtain quantitative elasticity values in breast disease. We therefore evaluated the diagnostic performance of SWE for the differentiation of breast masses compared with conventional ultrasound (US). Conventional US and SWE were performed by three experienced radiologists for 158 consecutive women who had been scheduled for US-guided core biopsy or surgical excision in 182 breast masses (89 malignancies and 93 benign; mean size, 1.76??cm). For each lesion, quantitative elasticity was measured in terms of the Young's modulus (in kilopascals, kPa) with SWE, and BI-RADS final categories were assessed with conventional US. The mean elasticity values were significantly higher in malignant masses (153.3??kPa??±??58.1) than in benign masses (46.1??kPa??±??42.9), (P??<??0.0001). The average mean elasticity values of invasive ductal (157.5??±??57.07) or invasive lobular (169.5??±??61.06) carcinomas were higher than those of ductal carcinoma in situ (117.8??kPa??±??54.72). The average mean value was 49.58??±??43.51 for fibroadenoma, 35.3??±??31.2 for fibrocystic changes, 69.5??±??63.2 for intraductal papilloma, and 149.5??±??132.4 for adenosis or stromal fibrosis. The optimal cut-off value, yielding the maximal sum of sensitivity and specificity, was 80.17??kPa, and the sensitivity and specificity of SWE were 88.8% (79 of 89) and 84.9% (79 of 93). The area under the ROC curve (Az value) was 0.898 for conventional US, 0.932 for SWE, and 0.982 for combined data. In conclusion, there were significant differences in the elasticity values of benign and malignant masses as well as invasive and intraductal cancers with SWE. Our results suggest that SWE has the potential to aid in the differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions.</P>

        축소형 틸트로터 무인기의 안전줄 호버 시험

        Tilt rotor aircraft can take off and land vertically and cruise faster than any other helicopter. A scaled flight demonstration model of a tilt rotor aircraft has been developed by KARI. Because the flight characteristics of tilt rotor are not well known, the developed scaled model would be helpful to evaluate flight control algorithm of a full scale aircraft. The tethered hover test has been performed in order to improve hover flight characteristics of tilt rotor aircraft prior to flight test of the small scaled model. During the tethered hover test, the performance of rotor speed governor, rate SAS (Stability Augmentation System) and control surface mixers have been evaluated. We expect that the results of real flight hover test would be quite same as tethered hover test. Therefore the tethered hover test results will reduce the risk of flight test properly by fixing some of hidden problems which might occur during the flight test. This paper presents the results of tethered hover test in detail and shows how it could be final ground test before flight test. The control mixer gain and rate SAS feedback gains were modified in order to get higher controllability and stability during the tethered hover flight. The rotor governor showed that it could keep rotor RPM constant with very small deviation even during severe pilot collective input change. The tethered hover test results gave pilot and engineers confirmation and experience about the scheduled flight test.

        성장생물학 : 체지방 감소 다클론 후보 항체가 비거세돈의 체중, 분 소화율 및 혈액 대사물질에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 비거세돈 12두를 이용하여 돼지 복강 및 피하지방 감소 후보 항체를 생체 주사 처리 시 체중, 분 소화율 및 혈액 대사물질 등 영양생리대사에 미치는 영향을 조사하고자 실시하였다. Choi 등(2010)에서 개발된 돼지 복강 및 피하지방 감소 후보 항체를 피하 주사하였을 때 주사 후 4주까지 평균 체중은 수치적 증가가 발생했으나(P>0.05), 전 기간에 걸쳐 수치적 증가를 보여 항체의 처리로 인한 영향보다는 돼지의 일반적인 성장에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다. 항제 주사 처리 시 건물, 조단백질, 조지방 및 조섬유의 분 소화율은 항체 주사 전, 후 및 시험구 간의 통계적 유의성이 나타나지 않았다(P>0.05). 조회분 소화율의 경우 항체 주사 후 2주째 control에서 감소를 및 4주째 NAb에서 증가를 보였으나(P< 0.05), AAb 및 SAb에서는 유의적 변화가 없었다. 혈액 대사물질의 변화에서는 항체 주사 후 4주의 AAb 및 SAb에서 BUN 농도가 유의적으로 증가하는 것으로 나타났다(P<0.05). 하지만, 후보 항체 주사 전에서도 유사한 패턴으로 유의적 증가를 보여 항체 처리에 의한 차이보다는 개체간의 차이로 사료된다. 혈액 내 glucose 및 TG 농도는 후보 항체 처리에 의한 유의적 차이는 나타나지 않았다(P>0.05). 체지방 함량과 밀접한 관계에 있는 혈액 내 TC 농도에서는 control 대비 후보 항체 주사 후 4주차 AAb 및 SAb에서 유의적 감소가 나타나(P<0.05), 체지방 감소가 일어나고 있음을 간접적으로 추론할 수 있다. 이상의 결과를 볼 때, 본 연구에서 이용된 AAb 및 SAb는 in vivo 영양생리대사에 부정적 영향을 미치지 않는 안전한 항체로 판단된다. Twelve pigs were used to investigate the effects of polyclonal antibody candidate against abdominal (AAb) and subcutaneous adipocyte membrane proteins (SAb) on body weight, fecaldigestibility and blood metabolites. When AAb and SAb developed by Choi et al. (2010) were injected to pigs, the numerical increase in BW (body weight) occurred at 4 weeks post-treatment, but BW for an entire period was also increased, indicating that the BW increase may not be affected by the antibodies injection. Antibodies treatment did not affect (P>0.05) fecal digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat and crude fiber. Fecal digestibility of crude ash for control (no treatment) at 2 weeks decreased, and that for non-immunized serum treatmentgroup at 4 weeks post-treatment increased, respectively (P<0.05). However, fecal digestibility of crude ash for AAb and SAb groups did not significantly change. At 4 weeks after the antibodies treatment, blood urea N concentration for AAb and SAb groups was significantly increased (P<0.05). However, these increases may not be caused by the antibodies treatment because similar pattern in blood urea N concentration occurred before the antibodies treatment. Antibodies treatment did not affect concentration of plasma glucose and triglycerides (P<0.05). Compared with control, concentration of plasma total cholesterol for AAb and SAb groups at 4 weeks post-treatment was significantly (P<0.05) decreased. This may suggest that body fat reduction possibly occurs. In conclusion, the AAb and the SAb developed by Choi et al. (2010) may have safety in nutritional physiological metabolism in pigs. Further study on in vivo fat reduction of the antibodies against abdominal and subcutaneous adipocytes of pigs should be required for fat-reduced pork production.

        전기전도도 측정을 통한 반류수 MLE공정에서 공기공급 제어기술 개발

        목적 : 반류수를 대상으로 무산소조에서 전기전도도 측정을 통해 호기조의 공기공급량을 제어할 수 있는 기술을 개발하여 공정성능 향상 및 에너지 사용량 절감을 달성하고자 하였다. 방법 : 전기전도도가 생물학적처리의 운전지표로 활용될 수 있는지를 검증하기 위해 각 공정별 수질인자와 전기전도도의 상관성 분석을 여름철(메탄올 투입), 겨울철, 가을철 시기로 나누어 실험하였다. 기존에 제시된 필요공기량 수식을 간단히 정리하여 경험식을 제시하고, 이를 활용해 전기전도도 범위에 공기공급량을 순차적으로 넣어 조견표를 작성하였다. 성능평가는 암모니아성질소와 총무기질소의 제거효율, SNR과 SDNR, 공기공급량의 변화, 유입수 변화에 대한 공정의 안정성 등을 기준으로 판단하였다. 결과 및 토의 : 계절별로 전기전도도와 각 수질항목의 상관계수가 0.5267 ~ 0.9115 범위로 암모니아성질소, 총무기질소, DOC, 인산염인 순서로 높게 산출되었다. 상관계수 0.5 이상으로 생물학적 처리공정의 운전지표로 전기전도도 가 활용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 전기전도도와 암모니아성질소의 회귀식은 계절별로 재현성이 확보되어 전기전도도를 통해 암모니아성질소를 추정하는 것이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 호기조 말단 DO가 3.4 mg/L 정도에서 겨울철 질소처리효율이 가장 양호하였다. 호기조 DO는 공기공급량으로 제어할 수 있으며 질소와 상관성이 높은 전기전도도를 직접 측정하여 공기공급량을 제어하고 질소처리효율을 향상시키는 것이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. 전기전도도와 유입유량을 통해 필요공기량을 산정할 수 있는 경험식을 제시하였고, 식 계수를 구한 결과 A", (B" + X") 는 각각 0.0589 (m³-air/h)/(m³/h)/(μS/cm), -77.562 (m³-air/h)/(m³/h)로 나타낼 수 있었다. 겨울철기간 무산소조의 전기전도도 측정값에 따라서 공기공급량을 자동 제어한 결과는 총무기질소 제거효율과 SDNR이 실플랜트 조건보다 각각 8.3%, 0.007 g-N/g-MLSS/d 높게 나타났다. 자동제어한 기간 동안에 공기공급량/유입유량 평균비가 36(m³-air/h)/(m³/h)로 실플랜트 조건보다 공기공급량을 21.7% 감소시킬 수 있었다. 결론 : 전기전도도 기반 MLE공정의 공기공급 제어기술은 질소제거 효율 향상 및 에너지 사용량 절감을 동시에 달성할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. Objectives : This study aimed to achieve improved process performance and energy saving by developing a technology to control the air supply of an aerobic basin by measuring the conductivity in the anoxic basin. Methods : To verify whether conductivity can be used as an operation indicator of biological treatment, the correlation analysis between water quality factor and conductivity of each process was conducted by dividing into summer (methanol input), winter and autumn periods. An empirical formula was presented by briefly arranging the required air quantity formula, and a quick reference was prepared by putting air supply in the conductivity range sequentially. The performance evaluation was judged based on the removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen and total inorganic nitrogen, SNR and SDNR, the change of air supply, the stability of the process against inflow change. Results and Discussion : The seasonal correlation coefficients of conductivity and water quality items were calculated in the order of ammonia nitrogen, total inorganic nitrogen, DOC, and phosphate in the range of 0.5267 ~ 0.9115. It was found that the conductivity could be used as an operation indicator of the biological treatment process with a correlation coefficient of 0.5 or more. The regression equations for the conductivity and ammonia nitrogen are secured by season, so it is possible to estimate the ammonia nitrogen through the conductivity. At the end of the aerobic basin DO was 3.4 mg/L, the nitrogen treatment efficiency in winter was the best. The aerobic basin DO can be controlled by the air supply, and it can be seen that it is possible to control the air supply and improve the nitrogen treatment efficiency by directly measuring the conductivity having a high correlation with nitrogen. An empirical formula for estimating the required air volume through conductivity and inflow is presented. A" and (B" + X") are 0.0589 (m³-air/h)/(m³/h)/(μS/cm) and -77.562 (m³-air/h)/(m³/h). The result of automatic control of air supply according to the measured conductivity of anoxic tank during winter season showed that total inorganic nitrogen removal efficiency and SDNR were 8.3% and 0.007 g-N/g-MLSS/d higher than the actual plant conditions, respectively. During the automatic control period, the air supply/inflow average ratio was 36 (m³-air/h)/(m³/h), which could reduce the air supply by 21.7% compared to the actual plant conditions. Conclusions : The air supply can be estimated from the flow rate and conductivity. The air supply control technology of the conductivity-based MLE process will be able to simultaneously improve nitrogen removal efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

        Study on Aging Effect of Adhesion Strength Between Polyimide Film and Copper Layer

        This paper experimentally confirmed that the adhesion strength of the copper layer formed on the surface of the polyimidefilm by wet plating greatly changes with the aging time. The adhesion strength of the copper layer showed a rapid increasefrom 4 to 10 h after aging had begun and then converged to a value without a significant change. The adhesion enhancementbetween polyimide film and copper layer by aging is due to the interlocking effect caused by the volume expansion of copperoxide (CuO) formed in the polyimide, the increased mobility of copper particles enlarged by the decrease of impuritiesin the copper layer grain boundaries, and the consequent change of the crystal structure of the copper layer leading to theinternal stress reduction. Such adhesion improvement can be confirmed by the progress of the cohesive failure indicatingthe breakdown of the polyimide film.

        기아시 버들치 Rhynchocypris oxycephalus(Sauvage and Dabry)의 일부 영양조건에서의 효과 : 2. 체 절단면 계측형질의 변화 2. Characteristics of the Morphometric Changes in the Sectioned Body

        버들치 Rhynchocypris oxycephalus(Sauvage and Dabry) 기아시의 영양 상태 평가를 위하여 비만도, 내장괴지수, dreessing 비를 비롯한 체 횡단 절단면에서의 형태적 변화를 조사였다. 9주간의 기아시 비만도, 내장괴지수 및 대부분의 체 횡단 절단면 계측 형질들에서의 감소를 보였다(P<0.05). 본 연구 결과, 실험에 적용된 영양성 parameter는 본 종의 영양 상태 파악에 유용한 지표임을 시사한다. 연구 결과를 자세히 해석하여, 버들치에서의 주요 체 절단 형질의 산업성을 논의하였다. The effects of starvation on the morphometrical changes in sectioned body traits, condition factor, viscera index and dressing percentage were determined for evaluating nutritional conditions of Rhynchocypris oxycephalus(Sauvage and Dabry). Starvation for nine weeks resulted in a decrease in most sectioned traits as well as in condition factor and viscera index(P<0.05). These findings suggest that nutritional parameters used in this study appear to be a useful index for nutritional status in this species. The data has been interpreted in detail and some important body sectioned values of interest to commercial growers discussed.
