        Face region detection is a very important step in the face recognition process for real-time applications. This paper presents a method to detect a face region using skin color information in Y·Cb·Cr color space. We propose a simple and highly applicable method of extracting facial features in the selected region. capturing a still image by a PC camera, we search a skin-like region using skin color filtering. Then we decide the face region by cropping the skin-like region. Finally, we extract each facial feature(eye, nose, mouth, and eyebrows) from the cropped region using histogram projection methods.

      • 녹차추출물이 Aeromonas hydrophila의 생존에 미치는 영향

        천연물에서 보존료의 개발이 요구되고 있으며, 이에 따른 많은 연구들이 진행되어 왔다. 본연구는 천연물인 녹차로부터 식중독세균에 대한 항균활성으로 여러 가지 기능성을 검토함으로서 합성품으로서가 아닌 천연의 보존료를 얻고자 본 실험을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 녹차를 물과 70% 에탄올로 추출하여 식중독세균중 Aeromonas hydrophila에 대한 항균활성을 조사하였다. 녹차 추출물 혹은 합성보존료인 potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate를 tryptic soy broth(TSB)에 0∼2%(w/v)첨가하여 pH를 5.5∼7.0으로 조정한후 A. hydrophila를 ?∼? CFU/ml 되게 접종하여 35℃에서 48시간동안 배양하면서 생균수를 측정하였으며 녹차추출물에 의한 생육저해환의 크기를 측정하였다. 아울러 녹차추출물과 보존료의 생균수변화로부터 minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)와 minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC)를 측정하여 항균활성을 비교하였다. A. hydrophila에 대한 녹차추출물의 항균활성은 pH가 높을수록 컸으나 보존료의 항균활성은 pH가 높을수록 감소하였다. pH 6.5와 7.0에서 A. hydrophila에 대한 녹차추출물의 MIC는 0.28∼0.35%였으며 MBC는 1.5∼2.0%였다. 보존류의 경우에는 pH 5.5∼6.5에서 1.5∼2.0%에서 억제되었으나 pH 7.0에서는 세균의 증식이 억제되지 않았다. 녹차 추출물의 A. hydrophila에 대한 항균활성은 합성보존료 보다 월등히 강하여 앞으로 식품에서 천연보존료로서의 이용가치가 있을 것으로 기대된다. Green tea water extract(GTW) and green tea ethanol(GTE) were prepared to investigate antibacterial activity on the pathogenic bacteria. The inhibitory effect of green tea extracts on the growth of Aeromonas hydropila was determined. Tryptic soy broth(TSB) containing 0∼2% (w/v) of green tea extracts adjusted to pH 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0 was inoculated with ??CFU/ml of pathogenic bacteria and incubated at 35℃ for 24∼48 hours. The plate counting tecnique and clear zone test were used to test inhibitory effect of the extracts. Minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) was derived from the survival curves of A. hydrophila. Antibacterial activity of the green tea extracts were compared with those of preservatives. A. hydrophila was very resistant to preservatives but very sensitive to green tea extracts. Green tea extracts showed excellent growth inhibiting activities for A. hydrophila. Antibacterial activities of potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate were increased with decreasing pH while those of green tea extracts increased with increasing pH. Minuinum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and mininum bactericidal concentration(MBC) of green tea extracts and preservatives were determined at 35℃. A. hydrophila was completely inhibited at level of 0.28∼0.35% and bactrericidal at 1.5∼2.0% at pH 6.5∼7.0. A. hydrophila was inhibited at level of 0.5∼2.0% preservatives at pH 5.5∼6.5 and non inhibitory at pH 7.0. This result suggests that green tea extracts can be used as an effective natural antibacterial agent in food.

      • 수면확성기의 음향특성에 관한 연구

        To obtain the fundamental data on a surface speaker made to lure fish school by pure sound, three surface speakers were made of moving coil driver units of 75W and 50W respectively. Their frequency characteristic was measured in the range of 200 - 4mHz that could be used in luring fish school. The results of the measurements in air and sea are follows. 1. The input and output wave forms of a surface speaker were similar to each other in measurement frequencies in air. Then sound pressure of a surface speaker made of 75W driver units among them was over 130dB(0dB re 20μ Pa) in the range of 300 - 400Hz maximally. 2. When the surface speaker with 75W driver units emitted the measurement frequencies at sea. Sound pressure classified by the depth of water were over 140dB at 1m and 120dB at 20m(0dB re 1μ Pa) respectively.

      • 수중 가청음에 대한 멸치 어군의 행동 반응

        A field experiment was carried out to confirm the effect of underwater sound on the luring of fish school using a surface speaker at the coast of Cheju Island. Underwater sounds that were emitted for the luring of fish school were the pure sound of which frequencies were 200Hz and 300Hz. 1. The sound pressure level of 100Hz. 200Hz. 300Hz. 500Hz and 1000Hz classified by the depth of water at sea were 95dB. 100dB. l00dB 80dB and 60dB at 1m. 90dB. 95dB. 88dB. 70dB and 45dB at 10m. 87dB, 90dB. 82dB. 65dB and 42dB at 20m respectively. 2. The effect of the emitted pure sound of 200Hz and 300Hz was remarkable for luring of fish school in about 30 minutes after sound emission. Then Sound pressure was 120 - 130dB. The lured fish school was the shoal of anchovy 3. The fact that anchovy school geathered at 200Hz and 300Hz suggested that this fish school did not show sensitive response to the change of frequencies.

      • 곁순의 화학적 방제가 연초식물의 생장량에 미치는 영향

        This study was carried out to compare the effects of suckercides - Fatty alcohol(FA), Maleic hydrazide(MH) and Butralin - on the sucker control and growing characters of flue-cured tobacco leaves. Among the three suckercides, Butralin was treated at three different times, one day before topping, topping day and one day after topping, and at two different concentration, 1/30 and 1/60 water solution. The results are summarized as follows. Suckercide treated plot showed higher growth and weight of upper leaves than not-treated plots did. MH treated plot decreased numbers, fresh weight and dry weight of suckers compared to the other treated plots, and made the leaves shape narrow. The effect of Butralin on sucker control was lower than that of MH, but higher than that of FA. The yields when treated Butralin decreased compared to the yields when treated MH. Though there were no significant differences of yields and growing characters of leaves among the plots of three concentrations and two times of treating Butralin, it is recommended to apply 1/60 water solution of Butralin at topping time.

        항균성 펩타이드인 Mastoparan B의 살조효과

        Mastoparan B (MPB)는 벌독으로부터 정제된 양친매성α-helical 구조를 취하면서 14개의 아미노산 잔기로 구성된 염기성 항균성 펩타이드로서 여러 가지 생물막과 작용한다. 본 연구에서는 우리 나라 연안의 적조 (HABs, harmful algal blooms)를 일으키는 4종의 적조생물 (Alexandrium tamarense, Chattonella catenatum)에 대한 MPB의 살조효과를 조사하였다. MPB의 4종의 적조생물에 대한 살조효과는 31.3㎍/㎖에서 세포의 lysis또는 ecdysis와 같은 형태로 현미경으로 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 MPB는 C. marina 및 C. polykridorides에 대해서 A. tamarense와 G. catenatum보다 더욱 강한 살조효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 MPB의 HABs에 대한 살조효과연구는 새로운 살조물질을 개발하기 위한 자료가 될 것으로 생각된다. Mastoparan B (MPB), an antimicrobial cationic peptide isolated from the venom of the hornet Vespa basalis, is a basic amphipathic a-helical peptide composed of fourteen amino acid residues. In this study, we have investigated the algicidal effect of MPB against hatmful algae blooms (HABs) casative Alexandrium tamarense, Chattonella marina, Cochlodinium polykrikoides and Gymnodinium catenatum. The algicidal effect of MPB showed in the concentration of 31.3 ㎍/㎖ to 500 ㎍/㎖ against 4 HAB species and observed cell lysis or cell ecdysis by microscopy. MPB reacted more sensitive to C. marina and C.polykrikoides than A. tamarense and G. catenatum. The algicidal study of MPB against HABs will provides much insight into development of new algicidal substances.

      • 기니이픽 장관의 c-Kit 및 NK 1R 면역반응 세포구조에 대한 공초점 주사현미경적 연구

        Background and Objectives: Immunolabelling of interstitial Cajal(IC) cells in the intestinal wall has recently been developed by using a specific marker, the anti-c-Kit antibody. Substance-P is a well-known neurotransmitter in the gastro-intestinal tract. Since the gastro-intestinal wall structures have already been well documented in the guinea pig, immunohistochemistry was done for the c-Kit-positive IC network and substance-P receptor(NK1R) in an attempt to provide a morphological basis for the mechanism regulating gastro-intestinal movement. Materials and Methods: Cryosection and whole-mount preparations of guinea pig small intestine and colon were single and double immunolabelled using the anti-c-Kit and NK1R antibodies. Immunolabelled specimens were observed under a confocal laser scanning microscope. Results : According to a three dimensional reconstruction study, it was found that (1) the c-Kit-positive celluar networks were widely distributed in the intestinal wall, (2) c-Kit-positive celluar networks encircled the ganlion, with strands in reticular configurations, and (3) the c-Kit-positive cells showed colocalization with NK1R in circular muscle(CM), not myenteric plexus(MY). Conclusion: The charateristic profiles of IC containing c-Kit-positive celluar networks and the relationship between c-Kit-positive and NK1R-positive structures provide a morphological basis upon the mechanism regulating gastro-intestinal motility.

      • 潛堤의 反射 및 透過率에 關한 硏究

        The reflection and transmission effects by the change of space and size of the rectangular submerged breakwater installed in the constant depth of sea-bottom water were theoretically estimated and investigated by the potential connecting method and two dimentional hydraulic model test. In case of impermeable submerged breakwater, as it were, the effect of width, space and height of submerged breakwater were investigated sperately by the theoretical analyses and experiments on single and double submerged breakwaters. And, in the event of permeable submerged breakwater, space and height of submerged breakwater were investigated by experiments. According to this study, the following conclusions were obtained. 1) The theoretical and experimental values were very close in their numerical values in impermeable submerged breakwater. 2) The influences width and space of submerged breakwater on reflection and transmission effects were not constant but the repetition of increase and decrease and its influences became more greater as the height of submerged breakwater was more higher. On the contrary, there were little influences of width and height of breakwater on reflection and transmission effects in permeable submerged breakwater. 3) Double submerged breakwaters was more effective in wave damping effects than those of single submerged breakwater in impermeable submerged breakwater. 4) Wave damping effects of impermeable submerged breakwater were more greater than those of permeable submerged breakwater.

        정신분열증 환자에서 주관적 음성증상경험의 임상적 의의

        연구목적 : 현재까지 정신분열증의 음성증상평가는 주로 객관적인 평가에만 의존해왔기 때문에, 환자들이 주관적으로 직접 경험하는 음성증상의 평가는 경시된 경향이 있었다. 그러나 실제 많은 정신분열증 환자들은 음성증상을 자가하고 있다. 특히, 개관적인 양성 및 음성증상이 관찰되지 않는 경우에도 환자 본인은 음성증상으로 괴로워한다는 이전의 연구보고들이 있었다. 따라서 저자들은 주관적인 음성증상경험과 개관적인 양성증상 및 음성 증상, 우울증상, 불안증상, 추세외로증상과의 상관성을 알아봄으로써 정신분열증의 정신병리에 있어 주관적 음성증상의 존재를 규명하고, 정신분열증 정신병리의 발생기전을 유추해보며 이차적 음성증상과의 관계를 규명하고자 하였으며. 이러한 연구가 정신분열증 정신병리를 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 뿐 아니라 환자를 공감적으로 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각되어 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방 법 : DSM-Ⅳ 진단기준의 정신분열증 진단기준에 해당하는 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 주관적인 음성증상의 평가를 위해서 Scale for the Subjective Experience of Negative Symptoms : Korean version(KSENS)을 이용하였고, 개관적인 정신분열증 정신병리의 평가는 Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PNASS)를 이용하였다. 우울증상, 불안증상, 추세외로증상의 평가를 위해서 각각 Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAM-D), Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety(HAM-A), Extrapyramidal Symptoms Rating Scale(ESRS)을 이용하였다. 각 정신병리척도 점수간의 상관성은 Spearman 상관계수를 이용하여 분석하였다. 결 과 : K-SENS 24항목 중에서 환자가 이를 불편한 것으로 경험하고 있는 항목의 비율과 PANSS 양성척도점수 사이에는 유의한 상관점이 있었으며 (r=-0.40, p〈0.05), 양성증상 중에서도 특히 과대성(r=-0.46, p〈0.05), 의심/피해(r=-0.34, p〈0.05), 적개심(r=-0.52, p〈0.05) 등의 증상과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. K-SENS 24 항목 중에서 환자가 이를 불편한 것으로 경험하고 있는 항목의 비율과 PANSS 전체점수(r=-0.25, p〉0.05), PANSS 음성척도점수(r=-0.20, p〉0.05), PANSS 일반정신병리척도(r=-0.08, p〉0.05),와는 각각 유의한 상관성이 없었다. K-SENS 24항목 중에서 환자가 이를 불편한 것으로 경험하고 있는 항목의 비율과 HAM-D 점수(r=-0.01, p〉0.05), HAM-A 점수(r=-0.11, p〉0.05), ESRS 총점(r=0.34, p〉0.05)은 각각 유의한 상관성이 없었다. 결 론 : 본 연구결과에서, 정신분열증 환자들이 불편한 것으로 경험하는 주관적 음성증상과 과대성, 의심/피해, 적개심 같은 양성증상은 역상관관계가 있었으며, 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 양성증상이 주관적으로 불편하게 느끼는 음성증상에 대한 가능성과, 혹은 양성증상이 심할 경우, 이에 압도되어 음성증상을 주관적으로 느끼지 못할 수 있다는 가능성이 시사되었으며, 향후 종적인 연구를 통해 이를 규명해 볼 필요성이 제시되었다. 주관적인 음성증상경험과 우울증상, 불안증상, 추세외로 증상과는 상관성이 없는 것으로 나타나서 이들 증상과는 독립적인 증상임을 시사한다. Objective : Since the evaluation of negative symptoms has depended on the clinician's objective observation, the patients subjective experience of negative symptoms has been neglected. However, in fact, a lot of patients are aware of their negative symptoms. There are several reported suggesting that patients suffer from the subjective experiences of their deficit symptoms, even though the objective positive and negative symptoms cannot be observed. Under these circumstances, we have attempted this study with the idea that it would be helpful in understanding the psychopathology of schizophrenia. Also it would help clarifying the relationship between subjective experience of negative symptoms and objectives positive and negative symptoms, depression anxiety symptoms, and extrapyramidal symptoms. Method : All the 37 patients satisfied the diagnostic criteria of DSM-Ⅵ for schizophrenia. The subjective experiences of negative symptoms were evaluated using Scale for the Subjective Experience of Negative Symptoms : Korean version(KSENS), and for the depression, anxiety, extrapyramidal symptoms, we used Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAM-D), Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety(HAM-A), and Extrapyramidal Symptoms Rating Scale(ESRS). The correlation between each psychopathology was tested by calculating Spearman correlation coefficient. Results : There was a significant correlation between the ratio of items experienced as uncomfortable symptoms among 24 items of K-SENS, and the score of PANSS positive subscale(γ=-0.40, p〈0.05), Among the positive symptoms, grandiosity(γ=-0.46, p〈0.05), suspiciousnes/persecution(γ=-0.34, p〈0.05), and hostility(γ=-0.52, p〈0.05) showed a significant correlation with the ratio of items experienced as uncomfortable symptoms among 24 items of K-SENS. There was no significant correlation between the ratio of items experienced as uncomfortable symptoms among 24 items of K-SENS, and PANSS total score(γ=-0.25, p〉0.05), or negative subscale score(γ=-0.20, p〉0.05), or general psychology subscale score(γ=-0.08, p〉0.05), respectively. There was no significant correlation between ratio of items experienced as uncomfortable symptoms among 24 items of K-SENS, and HAM-D(γ=-0.01, p〉0.05), or HAM-A(γ=-0.11, p〉0.05), ESRS(γ=0.34, p〉0.05), respectively. Conclusion : These revealed that the negative correlation between the subjective negative symptoms experienced as an uncomfortable ones and the objective symptoms such as grandiosity, suspiciousness/persecution, and hostility. From these results, the possibility that positive symptoms are used as a defense to hide from the negative symptoms because they are overwhelmed by their positive symptoms, is suggested. These results also suggest that subjective experiences of negative symptoms are independent from depression, anxiety and extrapyramidal symptoms.

      • 수부의 외상성 중수지 관절 탈구의 치료

        목적 : 수부의 중수지 관절 탈구의 관혈적 정복이 필요했던 예에서는 정복을 방해하는 구조물에 대해 분석하고 도수 정복이 가능했던 예에서는 성별 및 탈구 형태에 따른 특성에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 총 27예의 수부 중수지 관절 탁구 환자 (무지 11예, 이지 14예, 소지 2예)를 대상으로 연구하였다. 탈구된 중수지 관절의 정복을 방해하는 해부학적 구조는 수술시에 확인을 하였으며, 도수 정복이 가능하였던 예들에서도 연령과 손상된 구조물, 그리고 최종적인 임상 결과를 평균 7개월간 추시 관찰하였다. 결과 : 무지 중수지 관절의 탈구 11예 중 파열된 전방 관절낭, 수장판과 단무지 굴건의 파열을 동반한 복합 탈구가 8예 있어 관혈 정복을 시행하였으며, 2예에서만 도수 정복이 가능하였다. 관절염이 있던 1예는 관절 유합술을 시행하였다. 다른 수지의 중수지 관절의 탈구는 Kaplan의 개념에 따라 탈구를 수술 정복하였고 파열된 수장판을 복원하였으며, 1예에서 수술시 표재 중수 횡인대만의 절개와 이완으로 정복할 수 있었다. 소지 중수지 관절 탈구의 2예에서 파열된 요측 측부인대가 수술시 관찰되었고 이를 복원하여 수지의 불안정성을 예방하였다. 이들의 최종 결과는 특별한 운동 제한이나 불안정성 없이 좋은 결과를 보였다. 결론 : 적절한 국소 마취하에 도수 정복을 1~2회 시행할 수 있지만 단순 정복이 가능한 탈구가 부적절한 견인으로 정복이 불가능한 복합 탈구로 진행할 수 있다. 그리고 복합 탈구는 대부분 관혈적 정복이 필요하기 때문에, 정복 방해 구조물에 대한 충분한 이해와 적절한 조치가 필요하다. Purpose : To analyse the obstacles to prevent the reduction for dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal (MP) joints of the hand and evaluate the relationship between the sex and dislocation type in closed reduction case. Materials and Methods : Total 27 cases of MP joint dislocation of the hand (11 cases of thumb, and 14 index and 2 little finger) were reviewed retrospectively. The anatomical structures to prevent the reduction were confirmed at operation and the cases which were reduced immediately were also analysed for their ages and differences of damaged structures, and finally their complications or outcome were reviewed for average 7 months after reduction. Results : In 11 cases of thumb MP joint dislocations, the complex dorsal dislocations in which the protruded metacarpal neck was caught by buttonhole of torn anterior joint capsule, volar plate and FPB were reduced by open method in 8 cases, and closed reduction was done in 2 cases but one old case required arthrodesis. In other finger MP joint dislocations, the Kaplan's concept to prevent the reduction was confirmed. But reduction of torn volar plate and incision of transverse metacarpal ligament were sufficient to reduce the dislocation with gentle longitudinal traction during the operation. In two cases of little finger MP joint dislocation, the ruptured radial collateral ligaments were noted after open reduction and it must the repaired to prevent the finger instability later. Their overall end results were good without any significant restriction of MP joints motions and finger instabilities. Conclusion : One or two times of closed reduction with proper local anesthesia could be tried, but simple reducible dislocation can be converted to complex irreducible ones by the inappropriate traction method, and so proper reduction technique by closed or even in open way is important with the knowledge of anatomical obstacles to prevent the reduction of the metacarpophalangeal joints.
