Acanthopanax sessiliflorus Seeman fruits (Araliaceae) were extracted at room temperature with 70% aqueous ethanol (EtOH). The concentrated extract was partitioned with ethyl acetate (EtOAc), n-butyl alcohol, and H2O, successively. From the EtOAc fraction, four compounds were isolated through the repeated silica gel and octadecyl silica gel (ODS) column chromatographies. According to the results of physico-chemical and spectroscopic data including NMR, IR, and gas chromatography/ mass spectrometer, the chemical structures of the compounds were determined as stigmasterol (1), linoleic acid (2), β-sitosterol (3), and stigmast-5-en-3β,7β-diol (4).
Analysis of Lignans in Acanthopanax sessiliflorus Fruits and Their Fermented Wine by HPLC

High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for the determination of lignans, eleutherosides B and E, in Acanthopanax sessiliflorus fruits and their fermented wine. The lignans were quantified by a reversed-phase system using a gradient of H2O and acetonitrile as a mobile phase within 20 min. The analysis was successfully carried out within 20 min. The contents of eleutherosides Band E as main active principles of Acanthopanax species were measured in A. sessiliflorus fruits (1.15 and 8.49 μg/mg, respectively), their fermented wine (0.45 and 1.33 μg/mg, respectively) and wine residues (no detection).

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of dietary supplementation of whole garlic powder (WGP) on semen characteristics and blood antioxidant level in boars. For this study, nine Duroc boars of 12 months age were used. Semen and blood samples were collected for 13 weeks, once in each week. The boars were fed the basal diet (BD; control) or BD supplemented with 3% WGP. There were no significant differences in the semen volume and sperm concentration between control and WGP group on all collection weeks. However, total sperm number per ejaculate was higher in the WGP group than that in the control group on collection weeks 6, 7 and 8 (P<0.05). Also, on collection weeks 5, 6, 7 and 8, mean of total ejaculated sperm numbers per boar were significantly higher in the WGP group compared to control group (P<0.05). On the other hand, ejaculation frequency per boar (boar`s libido) and total ejaculated sperm number per boar were significantly increased in the WGP group compared to the control group, respectively (P<O.05). Although there was no difference in polyphenol level in seminal plasma between two treatment groups, polyphenol level in blood serum was significantly higher in the WGP group on collection weeks 9, 12 and 13 (P<0.05). These results indicate that dietary supplementation of 3% WGP improves boar libido and semen productivity such as ejaculation frequency per boar, total sperm number per ejaculate, mean of total ejaculated sperm number per head. and elevate the blood level of antioxidant (polvphenon in boar serum.

In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the forming process of mathematical concepts and exploration the thinking method for understanding of the concepts. For convenience's sake. I examine as follows; 1. Investigation on student's consciousness for the mathematics. 2. Analyze the important factor of evasion for mathematics. 3. Investigate the forming process of mathematical concepts and exploration the thinking method. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. Important impediment factor of learning mathematics is psychological anxious and hence, we must exclude this anxious. 2. Forming process of mathematical concepts is as follows; Sort objects, events, ideas into classes or categories → Become aware of relationship within classes or categories involved → Find a pattern which suggests relationships or structures → Formulate conclusion to discribe pattern or ideas involved → Establish generalization 3. The best reasonable method for expansion of thought is the following step; Imagination of schema → Join of schema → Strengthening of schema → Formation of aquisitive schema → Strengthening of aquisitive schema
