        CCS Cost Estimation Model Process and Analysis

        This thesis proposed an objective and accurate fundamental numeric data for the economics and business analysis of applicable CCS technology to plant using existing fossil fuel by analyzing the influence of process improvement for commercialization of Carbon Capture and Storage(CCS) technology, which enables storing $CO_2$ generated by fossil fuel by extracting before emitting to air and press until it becomes liquid, and development and performance improvement of new solvent on Total Life Cycle Cost(TLC) of CCS.

        우리나라 중소기업 지원 프로그램의 현황과 문제점 고찰

          While the Korean government has increased the budgetary supports on small businesses since the late 1990s, the competitiveness gap between large and small firms has been widened. This study explores various policy measures under the Roh-government, classifying them and pointing out their problems from a technological innovation perspective. Analyzing eight policies in different functional areas, such as funding, venture incubation, technology development supports, marketing supports, management consulting, information providing, labor supply and cooperation among businesses, this study finds that most of government support programs are not effective for the technological innovations of small business. It seems to be originated from short-termed policy goals and resource-input oriented policy implementation. Based upon the analyses, several policy alternatives are suggested to facilitate the technological innovations of small businesses.

        산학협력 패턴과 정책적 시사점

        Based on the survey data from 550 Korean corporate R&D centers, this study is to analyzes the patterns of industry-academy collaborations in Korean national innovation system. The analysis reveals that more than half of the corporate R&D centers involved in the collaborations with local universities and/or public R&D institutes. However, the outcomes of the collaboration are not so sufficient to improve technological capabilities of participant firms. Most of the collaborations are short-term, application oriented, small cooperative R&D projects which are not helpful for the accumulation of advanced technologies. The data also shows that the collaboration between industry-academy is quite vivid while the industry-industry collaboration is rare. These results imply the cooperative R&D activities of firms in Korea are quite dependent on the government support program and subsidy. Finally, this study proposed several policy alternatives to change Korean industry-academy collaboration system from government driven to market driven system.

        정부 기술개발 지원사업이 중소기업의 혁신활동에 미치는 영향

        Purpose - The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of government R&D programs on firm innovation activities. Design/methodology/approach - This study analyzed survey data on innovation survey in Korea. To investigate our research hypothesis we used ordered logit regression analysis. Findings - This study unveils different effects of diverse government R&D programs on firm innovation activities. Most of government programs-R&D tax incentives, information/training, and marketing supports-have positive effects on management innovation activities and negative effects of the usage of procurement programs on management innovation efforts. Some government programs-R&D tax incentives, R&D grants, information/training-have positive effects on technological innovation activities. Research implications or Originality - This paper investigates the effects of diverse government R&D programs on technological and management innovation activities. We examine simultaneous effects of multiple government R&D programs rather than effects of independent R&D programs. This result can contribute to develop more effective government R&D programs to support firm innovation activities.

        Peptides as multifunctional players in cancer therapy

        Peptides exhibit lower affinity and a shorter half-life in the body than antibodies. Conversely, peptides demonstrate higher efficiency in tissue penetration and cell internalization than antibodies. Regardless of the pros and cons of peptides, they have been used as tumor-homing ligands for delivering carriers (such as nanoparticles, extracellular vesicles, and cells) and cargoes (such as cytotoxic peptides and radioisotopes) to tumors. Additionally, tumor-homing peptides have been conjugated with cargoes such as small-molecule or chemotherapeutic drugs via linkers to synthesize peptide–drug conjugates. In addition, peptides selectively bind to cell surface receptors and proteins, such as immune checkpoints, receptor kinases, and hormone receptors, subsequently blocking their biological activity or serving as hormone analogs. Furthermore, peptides internalized into cells bind to intracellular proteins and interfere with protein–protein interactions. Thus, peptides demonstrate great application potential as multifunctional players in cancer therapy.

        DQ: Two approaches to measure the degree of decentralization of blockchain

        Blockchain technology innovatively removes the need for intermediaries and establishes a trust-less trust system by peer-to-peer networks and distributed ledger technology. It is still difficult to clarify the specific degree of decentralization of blockchain even though the decentralized characteristic of the system is derived from this system structure. Namely, the criteria for determining whether decentralized are not well established and do not reflect the real world well. So we propose two approaches to measure the degree of decentralization of blockchain system that currently exists: Censorship resistance and geographical diversity. This paper outlines the meaning of each decentralization quotient and explains how those indexes can be applied in respect of the user protection.

        산업환경변화와 기업의 대응전략 : 우리나라 타일산업 1986~1990 The Korean Tile Industry 1986~1990

        As an exploratory attempt, this study examines the patterns of strategic changes of the firms and changes in strategic group structure in response to environmental changes of the industry. Empirical analyses of 39 firms in the Korean tile industry for the period of 1986~1990 reveals that : 1) environmental changes had different impacts on attractiveness of different product/market segments : 2) the relatively large firms in less attractive product/market segments were more likely to change their domains : 3) according to their specific target product/market segments, the firms tended to strengthen different resource capabilities which were identified as key success factors to compete in each target segment : and 4) these differences in strategic changes of the firms resulted in the changes in strategic group structure during the same period. Implications and the limitations of this study are finally discussed.

        Median Modified Wiener Filter for Noise Reduction in Computed Tomographic Image using Simulated Male Adult Human Phantom

        전산화단층촬영장치 (computed tomography, CT)는 다른 방사선 촬영 장치와 비교하면 피폭이 많다는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 피폭을 감소하기 위하여 저선량 촬영을 하게 되면 영상에 잡음이 증가하게 된다. 이를 보완하기 위해 환자의 피폭선량은 감소시키면서 영상의 화질을 향상하는 다양한 잡음 제거 알고리즘이 개발되었으며, 그 중 우수한 시간 분해능을 가진 CT 장치에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 median modified Wie ner filter (MMWF) 알고리즘이 제시되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 MMWF 알고리즘의 마스크 크기를 최적화하고, 기존의 알고리즘들에 대한 MMWF 알고리즘의 잡음 제거의 우수성을 보는 것이다. MATLAB 프로그램을 이용하여 획득한 Gaussian 잡음이 부가된 MASH 팬텀 복부 영상들로부터 각각의 마스크 크기가 설정된 MMWF 알고리즘을 적용한 후 root mean square error (RMSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), coefficient co rrelation (CC) 그리고 universal image quality index (UQI) 값을 비교하였다. 그 결과 5 × 5 마스크 크기에서 RMSE 값이 가장 낮고, PSNR, CC, UQI 값이 가장 높았다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 최적화된 마스크 크기로 Gaussian 필터, median 필터, Wiener 필터에 대한 MMWF의 RMSE, PSNR, CC, UQI 값을 비교하였으며 그 결과 MMWF 알고리즘에서 가장 개선된 RMSE, PSNR, CC, UQI 값을 얻을 수 있었다. Computed tomography (CT) has the problem of having more radiation exposure compared to other radiographic apparatus. There is a low-dose imaging technique for reducing exposure, but it has a disadvantage of increasing noise in the image. To compensate for this, various noise reduction algorithms have been developed that improve image quality while reducing the exposure dose of patients, of which the median modified Wiener filter (MMWF) algorithm that can be effectively applied to CT devices with excellent time resolution has been presented. The purpose of this study is to optimize the mask size of MMWF algorithm and to see the excellence of noise reduction of MMWF algorithm for existing algorithms. After applying the MMWF algorithm with each mask sizes set from the MASH phantom abdominal images acquired using the MATLAB program, which includes Gaussian noise added, and compared the values of root mean square error (RMSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), coefficient correlation (CC), and universal image quality index (UQI). The results showed that RMSE value was the lowest and PSNR, CC and UQI values were the highest in the 5 x 5 mask size. In addition, comparing Gaussian filter, median filter, Wiener filter, and MMWF with RMSE, PSNR, CC, and UQI by applying the optimized mask size. As a result, the most improved RMSE, PSNR, CC, and UQI values were showed in MMWF algorithms.

        중소기업의 혁신활동조사 및 평가지표에 관한 고찰

        본 연구는 중소기업의 기술혁신역량 결정요인과 혁신활동에 대한 진단방법에 대한 이론과 학술연구를 고찰하고 중기청의 기술통계조사, STEPI의 기술혁신활동 조사 등 기존의 국내 통계조사의 문제점과 개선방안을 분석하였다. 기존 조사와 지표 체계는 중소기업의 기술혁신에 대한 기초현황 자료만을 제공할 뿐, 정책 담당자들이 의사결정에 활용할 수 있는 유용한 정보를 제공하지 못한다는 한계를 갖고 있다. 또한 조사들 간에 유사 또는 중복적인 지표가 많으며, 조사 주체간의 자료의 공유도 제대로 이루어지고 있지 못하며, 유사ㆍ동일 지표에 대한 조사 결과가 다르게 나타나는 경우도 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. 본 연구는 중소기업 혁신정책의 효과성을 증진시키기 위한 중소기업 혁신활동 조사 및 평가지표의 개선방안을 제시한다. 우선 통계조사가 중소기업 혁신정책의 성과를 평가할 수 있는 핵심지표를 생산하도록 조사항목이 설계되어야 하며, 다음으로 여러 조사들이 생산한 지표들의 합리적인 조정과 통합이 필요하다. 또한 지표의 타당성과 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 지속적인 노력이 필요하다. This study reviews the previous literature on the determinants of small and medium sized enterprises(SMEs)' innovation capabilities and the evaluation methods on their innovation activities. It also examines national innovation surveys including SME technological innovation survey of SMBA and the Korean Innovation Survey(KIS) of STEPI. The existing surveys only produce primitive descriptive data on SME innovation and fail to provide in-depth information valuable for policy makers. Furthermore, there are many similar and redundant measures since the surveys are conducted for similar purposes. Also we find that there are no data sharing between survey institutions and that sometimes the surveys produce different results for the same or similar measures. To increase the effectiveness of SME innovation policy, this study proposes some improvements for the surveys and evaluation measures. First, the survey items should be redesigned to produce key performance indicators for SME innovation policy. Second, those measures obtained from different surveys should be coordinated and combined in a reasonable way to maintain consistency. Finally, a continuing effort to enhance the validity and the reliability of the measure is required.
