Background: Some cases of QT interval, corrected QT interval (QTc), QT dispersion (QTd) and corrected QT dispersion (QTcd) have been reported in ESRD, but these results are variable and the influence of a hemodialysis is still controversial, In this study, we investigated the effect of hemodialysis on QT and QTc interval and QT and QTc dispersion in patients with ESRD 15 min before and 15 minute after each hemodialysis. Methods: Sixty-seven patients with ESRD (men 33 & women 34) on three-times stable hemodialysis (>3 months) were randomly enrolled. Fifty control subjects with a similar age and normal renal function were enrolled from this hospital. Routine biochemical studies were measured pre- and post dialysis, at the time of the ECG. Plasma Na+, K+, BUN, creatinine, ionized calcium and phosphate were checked. Twelve-lead electrocardiographs were performed at 10㎜/mv and 50㎜/s using a HewIett-Packard Pagewriter 100, before and after a single hemodialysis session.The QT interval was measured from the onset of the QRS complex to the end of the T wave. If the end of the T wave was not clear in a particular lead then it was excluded from analysis. When U waves were present, the end of the T wave was taken as the nadir between the T and U waves. Each QT interval was corrected for heart rate using Bazett's formula (QTc==QT/√(RR)) (ms). The difference between maximal and minimal QT interval duration was defined as QT dispersion (QTd) in each of the 12 leads. Result: This study demonstrates that QT, QTd, QTcd is higher in hemodialysis patients compared with control subjects, and QT and QTd rise postdialysis to levels comparable to those seen acutely following myocardial infarction, when patients are at greatly increased risk of potentially fatal ventricular arrhythmias, Conclusions: QT interval and QT dispersion, markers of risk for arrhythmias and sudden death, are elevated in hemodialysis patients, and rise postdialysis. QT interval and QT dispersion is an easily obtainable, noninvasive, simple, inexpensive, and widely available method of risk stratification in uremic patients receiving chronic dialysis. Additional studies are needed to clarity whether increased postdialysis QT dispersion results in an increased occurrence of arrhythmias.

저가 후막 EL소자 제조 및 신뢰성 평가

AC powder electroluminescence(EL) device consists of seven layers : PET substrate, transparent electrode, phosphor layer, dielectric layer, two layer metal electrodes and protective layer. Etch layer needs to control to improve electrical and optical properties. Both phosphor and dielectric layer among them is more important to increase its properties. For long-time reliability, proper choices of passivation and sealing material are essential. In this paper, influence of phosphor and dielectric layer thickness on EL performance is studied. Type of cellulos is selected as a sealing material to avoid moisture. To add two type of plasticizer to resin improves flexibility and passivation of EL devices. Through this experiments, technologies of fabrication low-cost thick film EL device can be established.

제81회 전국체육대회 경남 선수단 성적분석

본 연구는 2000년도 제 81회 전국체육대회에서의 경남선수단 성적을 종목과 부별 그리고 경기 형태별로 분석한 것이다. 제81회 전국체전에서 경남선수단이 거둔 종합 12위의 성적은 경남의 체전 참가 역사상 가장 저조한 성적으로 울산의 분리 이후 그 공백을 메우지 못하고 방황하고 있는 경남체육의 현주소를 극명하게 보여주고 있다고 판단된다. 제81회 체전에서 나타난 경남체육의 문제점은 매년 전국체전에서 되풀이되는 것이지만 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째 기본종목이 취약하다. 경남이 기본종목에서 얻은 점수는 서울이 기본종목에서 얻은 점수의 1/4에도 미치지 못하며, 총점대비 기본종목의 득점비율은 8.48%로 15위를 기록하며 전국 최하위이다. 둘째 단체종목과 여자부 성적이 저조하다. 제81회 체전에서 개인전 금메달은 38개인 반면 단체전 금메달은 3개에 불과하며, 단체전의 경우 대부분의 종목들이 1회전에서 탈락하는 극도의 부진을 보이고 있다. 또한 남자부에 비하여 여자부 성적이 저조하다. 경남 선수단이 획득한 충 메달 135개 중 남자부는 98개를 획득하며 72.6%에 이르고 있으나, 여자부는 37개로 27.4%에 불과하다. 셋째 대학부와 고등부의 성적이 저조하다. 제81회 전국체전에서 대학부 팀이 획득한 메달은 금메달 4개와 은메달 5개, 그리고 동메달 4개로 저조한 실적이다. 또한 경남의 고등부 성적 역시 계속해서 하향세를 기록하고 있으며 제81회 체전에서는 22,633점을 기록하여 전국 13위로 최하위권까지 하락하는 부진한 성적을 거두었다. 넷째 경기종목들의 성적 변화 폭이 너무 크게 나타나고 있다. 성적의 큰 변화폭은 경기력의 불안정을 의미하는 것이며, 경남은 제81회 체전에서 큰 폭의 하락을 보이며 하위권으로 떨어진 종목이 9종목이나 되어 전반적으로 저조한 성적을 기록하고 있다. 앞으로 경남체육을 균형 있게 발전시키고 소기의 성적을 안정적으로 거두기 위해서는 첫째 울산의 분리이후 와해 위기에 직면해 있는 경남체육을 체계적으로 활성화시키기 위한 장단기계획을 수립하여 강력하게 추진하여야 할 것이다. 둘째 전국 하위권의 경남체육회 예산을 도세에 걸맞게 증액하여야 할 것이다. 셋째 기본종목을 비롯한 각 종목과 남녀, 부별로 균형적으로 발전할 수 있도록 모든 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다.

人蔘이 산소유리기로 손상된 척수신경세포의 손상에 미치는 영향

산소자유기는 중풍인 뇌졸중을 비롯하여 뇌허혈, 파킨슨씨병과 같은 뇌질환의 병리적 요인으로 밝혀짐에 따라 이의 독성효과나 작용현상에 대한 기전을 규명하기 위하여 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 산소자유기의 독성효과에 대하여 아직까지 이에 대한 자세한 기전이 밝혀져 있지 않고 치료방법 역시 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 산소자유기의 신경독성 효과에 대한 기전을 규명하기 위하여 배양소의 희소돌기아교세포에 여러 농도의 산소자유기를 처리한 다음 산소자유기의 독성효과를 측정하였으며 또한 산소자유기의 독성효과에 대한 인삼추출물의 영향을 MTT assay법으로 조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. xanthine oxidase(XO)와 hypoxanthine(HX)은 처리한 농도에 비례하여 배양 신경세포의 생존율을 현저하게 감소시켰으며, 인삼추출물을 배양 희소돌기아교세포에 전처리한 결과 XO/HX의 독성효과를 유의성있게 방어하였다. 이상의 결과로부터 산소자유기는 배양 소의 희소돌기아교세포에 독성을 나타냈으며 인삼추출물이 산소자유기의 독성을 방어하는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. To elucidate the neurotoxic mechanism of oxygen radicals in cultured bovine oligodendrocytes, cytotoxic effect was measured by MTT assay after cultured oligodendrocytes were grown in the medium containing various concentrations of oxygen radicals. In addition, neuroprotective effect of herb extract, Korean red Ginseng was examined by MTT assay in cultured oligodendrocytes. Cell viability of cultured oligodendrocytes was remarkably decreased by xanthine oxidase(XO) and hypoxanthine(HX) in dose-dependent manner, and Korean red Ginseng protected remarkably oxidant-induced neurotoxicity in these cultures. From the above results, it is suggested that oxygen radicals is toxic in cultured bovine oligodendrocytes, and herb extracts such as Korean red Ginseng are effective in blocking the neurotoxicity induced by oxygen radicals in cultured bovine oligodendrocytes.

下水의 土地注入에 關한 硏究

The objective of this study is to evaluate the land application of wastewater, which is applicable to small community without sewer systems. The laboratory units were consist of two-stage septic tanks, soil absorption systems and sois columns. Two-stage septic tanks were operated to evaluate pretreatment methods of soil absorption systems and soil column test was designed to examine the effect of hydraulic loading rates, organic loading rates and soil depths on the efficiencies of soil absorption systems. If land is available, land application of wastewater is a cost effective method in terms of construction and maintenance cost with high organics and nutrients removal efficiencies.

제78회 전국체육대회 경남 선수단 성적분석

본 연구는 제78회 전국체육대회에서의 경남선수단 성적을 종목과 부별 그리고 경기 형태별로 분석해본 것이다. 1997년도 제78회 전국체전에서 경남선수단이 거둔 종합 3위의 성적은 개최지의 이점이 반영된 결과라고 볼 수 있지만 울산이 광역시로 분리된 직후에 여러 가지 어려운 여건 하에서 거둔 성적으로서 의의가 크다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 각 종목에서 거둔 성적을 내용면에서 분석해 보면 구조적으로 바람직하지 못한 측면이 도출되고 있다. 최근 몇 해 동안의 전국체전에서 일관성 있게 나타나고 있는 경남체육에서 가장 심각한 문제는 육상, 수영, 체조 등의 기본종목이 취약하다는 것이다. 실제로 최근 몇 년간 전국체전에서 경남의 기본종목은 전국 최하위권을 기록하고 있으며, 이러한 저조한 성적이 반영되어 시도별 종합채점제를 채택하고 있는 전국체전에서 상위권에 진입하지 못하는 원인이 되고 있다. 이러한 기본종목과 다메달 다득점 종목의 부진은 종목의 특성상 단기간에 경기력 향상을 도모하기 어렵다는데 문제의 심각성이 있다고 보겠다. 두 번째의 문제점은 여자부의 침체이다. 선수의 부재와 부족에 의한 불참과 경기력 저하는 심각한 수준에 이르렀다고 판단된다. 이러한 현상은 일차적으로 전체 선수의 17.78%에 불과한 전국 최하위의 여자선수 비율과 여자 대학부의 침체 그리고 선수생활 기피 등에 기인한다고 볼 수 있다. 특히 여자 대학부와 일반부의 침체현상은 심각한 수준에 이르렀다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 향후 경남체육을 균형 있게 발전시키고 소기의 성적을 안정적으로 거두기 위해서는 기본종목을 비롯한 각 종목과 남녀, 부별로 균형적으로 발전할 수 있도록 모든 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다.

韓國型 Turnip Mosaic Virus의 純化

Chinese cabbage(Brassica campestris subsp pekinensis) useful for making a traditional Korean food, Kimchi, has been considered as the most important vegetable in Korea. In order to supply large quantity of chinese cabbage to the consumer, the mass cultivation is demanded. However, the mass production has been faced to serious problem due to fungal, bacterial and/or viral infections. It has been reported that the viral infections are the worst phatogeruc causes in a number of plants. In the chinese cabbage, turnip mosaic virus(TuMV) is the most serious pathogen. Five different strains of TuMV(Cl, C2, C3, C4, and C5) were identified in the world. We are reporting two strains(C4, C5) purified from Brassica nigra. They are all filamentous on electron micrographs. The TuMV C4 is about 1,300nm long, whereas the C5 is about 1,200nm long in average. They are larger than those reported previously(680-900nm). They will be used to produce monoclonal antibodies against the TuMV coat proteins. The antibodies arc required to develop a sensitive and specific screening methods for the TuMV infected plants.

제80회 전국체육대회 경남 선수단 성적분석

본 연구는 제80회 전국체육대회에서의 경남선수단 성적을 종목과 부별 그리고 경기 형태별로 분석한 것이다. 1999년도 제80회 전국체전에서 경남선수단이 거둔 종합 10위의 성적은 경남의 도세에 걸맞지 않는 저조한 성적으로 울산이 광역시로 분리된 이후부터 계속되고 있는 것으로 경남체육의 현주소를 극명하게 보여주고 있다고 판단된다. 제80회 체전에서 나타난 경남체육의 문제점은 매년 전국체전에서 되풀이되는 것이지만 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째 기본종목이 취약하다. 경남이 기본종목에서 얻은 점수는 서울이 가본종목에서 얻은 점수의 1/3에도 미치지 못하며, 총점대비 기본종목의 득점비율은 10.77%로 전국 최하위이다. 둘째 단체종목과 여자부 성적이 저조하다. 제80회 체전에서 개인전 금메달은 35개인 반면 단체전 금메달은 4개에 불과하였다. 단체전의 경우 대부분의 종목들이 제89회 체전과 마찬가지로 1회전에서 탈락하는 극도의 부진을 보이고 있다. 또한 남자부에 비하여 여자부 성적이 저조하다. 경남 선수단이 획득한 총메달 132개 중 남자부가 획득한 것은 92개로 69%에 이르고 있으며, 여자부는 41개로 31%에 불과하다. 셋째 대학부 성적의 저조와 대학 및 일반부 팀의 불참종목이 많다. 제80회 전국체전에서 대학부 팀이 획득한 메달은 금메달과 은메달 각각 3개, 동메달 8개로 저조한 실적이다. 또한 경남의 대학 및 일반부 팀의 불참종목은 7개종목 17개팀으로 경쟁시·도보다 현저히 많은 실정이다. 앞으로 경남체육을 균형 있게 발전시키고 소기의 성적을 안정적으로 거두기 위해서는 첫째 울산의 분리이후 와해 위기에 직면해 있는 경남체육을 체계적으로 활성화시키기 위한 장단기 계획을 수립하여 강력하게 추진하여야 할 것이다. 둘째 전국 최하위권의 경남체육회 예산을 도세에 걸맞게 증액하여야 할 것이다. 셋째 기본종목을 비롯한 각 종목과 남녀, 부별로 균형적으로 발전할 수 있도록 모든 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다.
