The study was carried out on healthy population in urban and rural area, in order to compare the level of blood lead (PbB) and blood zinc protoporphyrin (ZPP) between the population living in each area from July 1 1994 to December 31 1994. We stratificated the results with sex, age and area. The results obtained were as follows; 1. In urban area, overall mean of the PbB level was 7.08±1.61㎍/dl and both men and women had the highest level of PbB, which were 8.15±0.85㎍/dl, 6.90±1.48㎍/dl, in less than 39 years old group. In rural area, overall mean of the PbB level was 6.75±1.61㎍/dl and both men and women had the highest levels of PbB, which were 7.25±2.29㎍/dl, 7.00±2.92㎍/dl in 40∼49 years old group. And there was statistically significant difference between mean of the men's PbB level in urban area and that in rural area (p<0.05). 2. In urban area, overall mean of the ZPP level was 32.08±8.28㎍/dl and men had the highest level of ZPP, which was 29.59±5.13㎍/dl, in 40∼49 years old group, and women had that, which was 36.83±7.95㎍/dl, in less than 39 years old group. In rural area, overall mean of the ZPP level was 34.54±11.31㎍/dl and men had the highest level of ZPP, which was 32.10±5.45㎍/dl, in less than 39 years old group and women had that, which was 40.17±14.02㎍/dl, in 40∼49 years old group. And there was statistically significant difference between mean of the men's ZPP level in urban area and that in rural area (p<0.05). 3. There was statistically significant difference in PbB and ZPP between men and women group in both area (p<0.05) but not significant among age group in both area (p>0.05).

비중격에 발생한 형질세포종 1례

Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a rare soft tissue malignancy composed of monoclonal plasam cells. The great majority of extramedullary plasmacytoma occurs in the head and neck region, mainly in the submucosa of the upper respiratory tract. The most frequently involved sites are the sinonasal / nasopharyngeal area. If histologic diagnosis of plasmacytoma is confirmed, all screening tests are necessary to rule out multiple myeloma. The treatment and prognosis are different according to sites where the extramedullary plasmacytoma is originated. We experienced a case of extramedullary plasmacytoma that arising from the nasal septum in a 65-year-old woman. The septal mass was totally removed endoscopically with no complication. The patient received postoperative radiotherapy(45 Gy.) At 1-year follow-up, the patient was doing fine with no sign of recurrence.

고위험군의 원발성 전신성 유전분증 1례 보고 및 조혈모세포이식에 대한 문헌고찰

저자 등은 클론성 형질세포질환과 동반된 젊은 연령의 원발성 전신성 유전분증 환자를 진단하였기에 다발성 골수종과의 감별 진단, 치료 , 예후 및 고용량 항암화학요법과 조혈모세포이식에 관하여 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Primary systemic amyloidosis (AL) is a rapidly fatal disorder related to plasma cell dyscrasia. Conventional dose of melphalan, which prolongs the duration of survival by about 10 months, does not improve the functions of impaired organs in most cases. The high dose chemotherapy followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell rescue for AL, in spite of its high treatment-related mortality, is a new approach to achieve high response rate and better survival. We experienced a 35-year old man with AL(involving heart, liver, stomach, kidneys, peripheral nerve, and rectum) who did not respond to the standard schedule of melphalan plus prednisone and had rapidly fatal course with organ failure. Hence, we evaluate its availability by reviewing the recent reports of high dose chemotherapy in AL.

경상분지 남동부에 분포하는 화강암질암의 광물학적 특징

경상분지 남동부에 분포하는 화강암질암은 야외산상 및 암석기재적 특징에 따라 크게 세 그룹으로 나눌 수가 있다. 즉, 그룹Ⅰ은 마그마혼합의 영향을 받은 암체로 염기성 미립 포유암 및 염기성광물 집합체를 다양하게 함유한다. 그룹Ⅱ는 낮은 압력하에서 형성된 천소관입암의 특징을 나타내며, 그룹Ⅲ은 A-형 화강암류의 특징을 보인다. 화강암질암의 광물학적 특징을 각 광물에 대하여 암상별로 살펴본 결과, 그룹에 따라 장석의 용리온토 및 흑운모의 성분 등에서 비교적 체계적인 성분변화를 보여주었다. 각섬석의 경우, 그룹Ⅰ의 암상들은 칼식-각섬석 영역에 속하며 각섬석 지압계에 의한 추정압력은 0.4~2.8 kb에 해당되었다. 그룹Ⅱ에서는 각섬석이 거의 산출되지 않았고, 그룹 Ⅲ의 각섬석은 알칼리-각섬석 영역의 리베카이트에 해당되었다. 흑운모의 화학조성은 비교적 그룹별로 군집을 잘 이루며, 그룹Ⅰ에서부터 그룹Ⅲ의 철질-앤나이트까지 연속적인 변화양상을 보여주었다. 사장석은 지역 및 암상별로 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내지 않으며, 대체로 알바이트, 올리고클레이스, 그리고 안데신의 영역에 해당된다. 그룹별로 퍼타이트 지온계에 의한 용리 온도를 검토한 결과, 그룹Ⅰ은 대체로 300~400℃ 정도이며, 그룹Ⅱ의 등립질화강암과 그룹Ⅲ의 알칼리장석화강암은 500~600℃ 정도로 높게 나타났다. Granitic rocks in the southeastern Gyeongsang. Basin can be classified into three groups. The group Ⅰ contains various mafic microgranular enclave (MME) and/or mafic clot which implies magma mixing or mingling. The group Ⅱ show the feature of shallow depth emplacement at low pressure, and the group Ⅲ is characterized by A-type granite implying extensional tectonic environment. Mineralogical characteristics of the granitic rocks have showed systematic variations in perthite exsolution temperatures and biotite compositions according to their rock facies, although they do not show any distinctively different trend in geography and textures or rock facies. Amphiboles from Group Ⅰ are calcic-amphibole and they were formed at 0.4~2.8 kb in pressure based on the amphibole geobarometry. Amphiboles from group Ⅲ are riebeckite, whileas amphiboles were not observed in Group Ⅱ The chemical composition of biotite defined in clusters showing a continuous spectrum between group Ⅰ to ferric-annite of group Ⅲ. The composition of plagioclase generally plotted in albite, oligoclase, and andesine area without any distinctive differences among their geography or rock facies. The exsolution temperatures by perthite geothermometry are calculated as 300~400℃ in Group Ⅰ, and 500~600℃ in equigranular granite of group Ⅱ and alkali-feldspar granite of group Ⅲ.

Binary-Decision방식을 이용한 프로그래머블 콘트롤러의 개발에 관한 연구

The binary decision method can evalutate any switching function in the number of steps not exceeding the number of input variables. A programmable controller module is designed using this method so as to improve scan speed. A compiler system is also developed to relieve the memory problem which the binary decision method entails. A communication channel between MDS and PC modules is also constructed to load the compiled PC object program in to the memory of BD machine.

키토산의 산업분석 : Chitosan

Porter의 경쟁구조분석, PLC 분석, 시장창출 메카니즘 분석, 그리고 시장 기회 및 위협요인 분석을 통하여 국내 키토산 산업을 조망하였다. 경쟁구조에서 특징적인 부분은 원료공급 비즈니스가 수산업에 해당되기 때문에, 원료수급이 매우 불안정하다는 점과, 주요 응용분야인 건강보조식품 분야의 PLC가 3~4년을 넘기기 어렵기 때문에 대체위협이 항상 존재한다는 점이다. 또한, 다양한 기회요인과 위협요인이 대두되고 있으나, 현 상황에서는 위협요인이 크게 부각되고 있는 상황이며, 기술적 성숙이전에 bubble 시장이 과도하게 형성되어, 이후에, 기술적 제약요인(constraints)으로 해결되지 못할 경우 급격한 시장규모의 감소현상으로 이어질 소지가 있다. 이에 따라, 고품질의 키토산 유도체 등의 개발 및 용도 확대가 향후 키토산 시장의 지속적 성장을 가능하게 하는 중요한 요소로 작용할 것이다. Chitosan industry was analyzed through Porter's 5P's, PLC, formation mechanism, drivers and constraints of the market. 5P's analysis reveals that unstability in supplying raw material and strong power of substitutes exist. Short PLC of 3-4 years, in functional food market, is also played as one of the severe market constraints. In addition, the Korean chitosan market was sensationally expended despite lace of technological breakthrough, so, to achieve sustainable market growth, the development of derivatives and new application fields are needed.

Pyogenic granuloma is a well circumscribed, soft tissue tumor of inflammatory rather than neoplastic nature. It arises from the connective tissue of the skin or mucous membrance. Pyogenic granuloma arising from the nasal septum is an uncommon benign vascular tumor and it is at times difficult to differentiate from the hemangioma or angiofibroma histologically. Recently the authors had experienced a case of Pyogenic granuloma arising from right side of the nasal septum which was treated by local excision and electrocauterization. We report this case with review of the literatures.

有限要素法을 이용한 LNG선박용 배관의 응력해성에 관한 硏究

The purpose of this study is to investigate the stress on the piping for LNG ships by using the Finite Element Method. By this method, we can estimate the working displacement, force and stress at each nodal point of equipped LNG piping. The results of the numerical analysis of piping for LNG ships are calculated. Through the analysis results and the comparison, the following conclusions are obtained ; (1)The weights of LNG and piping should be considered for calculating the stress on the piping of LNG Ships. (2)Sun effect should be considered for calculating the stress on the piping of LNG Ships. (3)The equipped LNG piping satisfy the relevant requirements of the IGC Code since the maximum stress, 17.3kg/mm2 at the elements of No.3 and No.12 for LNG piping sampled, is less than the allowable stress, 27.5kg/mm2 (4)To get more detailed stress value for the future, an additional study is necessary for dynamic load(for example, acceleration etc.,).

Koebner 현상이 동반된 전신성 광택태선 1예

Lichen nitidus is a rare chronic dermatitis of unknown etiology. It is characterized by round, flat-topped, flesh-colored papules 2 to 3 mm in diameter that may occur in groups but do not coalesce. The lesions of lichen nitidus are usually localized to the upper extremities, genitalia, chest, and abdomen, but less commonly, they may be generalized. Although the eruption is usually asymptomatic, it is sometimes mild pruritic, and the Koebner phenomenon may be observed very exceptionally. We reported a case of generalized lichen nitidus with Koebner phenomenon.

이하선에 발생한 근상피종 1례

In a normal gland, myoepithelial cells are located between the epithelial cells and the basal larmina of acini and intercalated ducts. Myoepithelioma is rare, generally benign neoplasm that accounts for less than 1% of all salivary tumors. The most common locations of myoepithelioma of the head and neck are the parotid gland and the palate. Myoepithelioma resembles pleomorphic adenomas in its appearance and growth pattern. We experienced a case of myoepithelioma that arising in the parotid gland. The mass was removed with a margin of uninvolved tissue. Histologic features showed that the tumor was composed of spindle-shaped cells and plasmacytoid(hyaline) cells.
