      • Bacillus thuringiensis var, kurstaki Temperature Sensitive Mutants의 生化學的變異性研究

        Partial Characterization of B. thuringiensis var. kurstaki temperature sensitive mutants was carried out through bioche-mical analysis, utilization tests of Carbohydrate sources, an-tibiotic resistant test, and toxicity test against to mice. Six ts-mutants, ts-u154, ts-u601, ts-u602, ts-u603, ts-u604 and ts-u788 could not produce urease. ts-u603, lost its motility, ts-u154 could not use Salicin and Cellobiose and ts-us603 not ribose. A11 ts-mutants except ts-u154 and wild type strains were resistant to cephalothin, ampicillin and penicil-lin. But ts-u154 was susceptible to the three antibiotics. The B. thuringiensis and its ts mutants wer not toxic to mice.

        일부 농촌지역 재가 장애인의 요구도 분석

        The survey was conducted with participation of the 289 handicapped persons residing at the rural area OOeup-gun in Kyungbook for the period of March 2 - May 31, 2006, to study the nature in general of the handicapped and the boundaries of their need. For the nature in general of the handicapped, the study was done by gender iscrimination, age, marital status, religion, educational level, occupation, monthly income, disability cause, disabled duration, disability type, disability level. For the boundaries of their need, the study was done by demand of financial support, educational demand, demand of voluntary workers, need of rehabilitation and medical treatment, job training, improvement of living conditions, or so. Using the Win.SPSS program, we made a frequency analysis and conclusions on the nature in general of the handicapped and the boundaries of their need on a 2-test. Conclusions are : 1. Nature in general of the handicapped The existence of the handicapped shows high at the age over 51 (71.6%), male-handicapped (65.1%), primary school graduates (62.9%), farming engaging (65.2%), monthly income less than one million Won (80.5%), cause by disease (53.8%), duration more than 10 years (61.6%), disability at level 3 (39.8%), extremity disability (66.4%). 2. Correlation of nature in general with demand of the handicapped a. In demanding the financial support, support for helper’s compensation shows high (p<0.05). In demanding the necessity of voluntary workers, the male-handicapped appears high during the absence of family assistance and the female-handicapped appears differently per week and also appears high during the absence of family assistance (p<0.05). b. In educational demand of the handicapped by their age, the age below 30 demands technical-job training and the age over 31 demands medical education for health care (p<0.01). c. In demanding the financial support by educational level, support for living cost shows high (p<0.05). d. In demanding improvement of living conditions by postnatal cause of disability, improvement of house structure shows high (p<0.05). e. In demanding assistance of voluntary workers by disabled duration, "No Need" shows high in the disabled duration more than 4 years (p<0.05). f. In demanding rehabilitation and medical treatment by disability type, home-visiting treatment, oriental medical treatment and physical therapy show high (p<0.001). g. In educational demand by disability level, medical education for health care shows high (p<0.01).

        1.Among 6,992 cattle, the infection rate of Fasxiola spp, were 42.8%(2,994cattle) 2.According to the breed, Korean native cattle were top rate of 43.5% and beef cattle were of a most bottom 41.9%. 3.Juging from the rate of F. spp, infection by provincial area, Gyeongsa-ngnan province was in top ranging with infection rate of 46.8%, mean while, Daegu city was showed minimum rate 37%. The other 3 areas among 5 provinces registered 37~41.3% rate. 4.In the relationship between the rate of F, spp, infection and age level, infection rate of F. spp, tended to increase with age. Age 2 was low-est rate 39.7% and 6 and 7 over top rate 52% and 51%. 5.Based on sex, females were 51.1% and males were infected with F, spp, 39.8%. 6.The positive rate of Fascioliasis in cattle of dairy farms was 44.3% 7.The results of experimental therapy revealed that Fasinex(Triclabendazol 10%w/v) efficiency at 6ml/100kg were 10% of 1week, 35% on 2 weeks, 50% on 3 weeks and 70% on 4 weeks after drug administration.

        셀룰로오스 및 Plant Biomass 의 효소적 가수분해

        This paper deals with the enzymatic hydrolysis of different kinds of celluloses and plant biomasses. The enzymatic hydrolysis of these materials by a complete cellulase from Trichoderma viride were carried out in the 0.15M acetate buffer solution at pH 5.0, 50℃. The optimum hydrolysis conditions of cellulose were found 25 ㎎ cellulase, from Trichoderma viride for 100㎎ cellulose and 72 hours. The maximum yield of glucose for cellulose native from these experiments was 82.7% in per cent saccharification for 72 hours.

        정상인들의 Scapular Rhythm에 대한 연구

        This study was carried out to investigate the scapular rhythm of normal persons. 16 persons was no disease, injury and after-effect in period for July 1, 1996 to July 14, 1996. The statistical measures were performed by SPSS/PC t-test for classification. The result of this study were as follow : 1. There was a significant difference between the body median line and scapular superior angle from the mean distance in 83.4 mm of male and 86.0 mm of female to shoulder neutral position(p<0.05). 2. The mean distance of body median line between scapular inferior angle was 97.9 mm of male and 92.0 mm of female to shoulder neutral position. 3. There was a significant difference between the body median line and scapular inferior angle from the mean distance with male and female to shoulder abduction $90^{\circ}$ position(p<0.05). 4. The mean angle of body median line between scapular angle was $6.4^{\circ}$ of male and $4.4^{\circ}$ of female with shoulder neutral position. 5. The mean ratio of scapular rhythm was 5.6 : 1 in shoulder abduction of $90^{\circ}$ and 5.1 : 1 in shoulder abduction of 180.

        실험적으로 당뇨병을 유발시킨 개에 있어서 혈당량과 Hemoglobin A<sub>1</sub> 농도의 변화의 시간적인 상관관계

        Fifteen mongrel dogs (14 male and 1 female) were injected intravenously with 30mg of streptozotocin and 50mg of alloxan monohydrate per kilogram of body weight to induce diabetes mellitus. Before treatment with streptozotocin and alloxan fasting serum glucose concentration was determined every other day or thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for 3 months. Among 15 dogs 4 dogs developed diabetes mellitus and survived more than 9 weeks without injection of insulin. After treatment fasting serum glucose and hemoglobin $A_1$ concentrations of the 4 dogs were determined every other day or thrice a week. Fasting serum glucose concentration increased acutely from 24 hours after treatment and then showed severe fluctuation. Hemoglobin $A_1$ concentration increased gradually until 7~9 weeks after treatment and then showed very slow increase afterwards. Correlation of hemoglobin $A_1$ to fasting glucose concentration was relatively weak(r = 0.10~0.80). Hemoglobin $A_1$ and fasting glucose concentration of preceding 7 week showed very high correlation (r = 0.98~0.99). It was indicated that hemoglobin $A_1$ concentration in chemically induced diabetic dogs reflects mean glucose concentration of preceding 7~9 weeks.

        대사판정시험을 이용한 젖소의 우유증산

        This study examined metabolic profiles of 1349 Holstein cows from 91 commercial herds. Thirteen parameters which are consisted of twelve blood components and body condition score were examined and their mean values. standard deviations and standard limits, which are 80% confidential limits, in each lactational stage were reported. The variations of each parameter affected by season, individual milk yield, adjusted corrected milk yield of herd. and lactation number were also reported. A model of metabolic profile test applicable to this country where the average number of cows in a herd is small as to be fifteen is designed. Metabolic profiles as reflected in each parameter were discussed in relation to adequacy of dietary intake for production, milk production, reproductive performance, and diseases, and the possible measure to improve productivity of dairy cows were proposed. Much of the variation in parameters was due to differences between herds, and less to differences between seasons, differences between individual milk yield, and differences between lactational stages. As the average herd size in this country is small, it is believed that all the cows in a herd must be sampled, and the individual result of each parameter was compared with the standard limit for each lactational stage, and the percentage of cows which are outside the standard limits in a herd was calculated to use as a criteria for evaluation of the herd. Data outside the 99% confidential limits were to be deleted at first, but when the trends of the data outside the 99% confidential limits are same as the trends of the data within 99% confidential limits, the deleted data must be reviewed again, otherwise some important informations would be missed. The mean concentration of blood urea nitrogen in this study was much higher than that was reported in England, U.S.A. and Japan, and it was similar to the upper limits reported in England, U.S.A. and Japan. So it was thought that the concentration of blood urea nitrogen is improper as a criteria for protein intake. The increase of serum total protein cocentration beyond standard limits was due to increase of serum globulin concentration in most of the cows. The correlation coefficient between serum and protein and serum globulin concentration was 0.83. Serum globulin concentration was negatively related to adjusted corrected milk of herd. Serum albumin, calcium and magnessium concentrations were negatively related to adjusted corrected milk of herd, which indicate that high-producing individual or high-producing herd have not taken sufficient protein/amino acids, calcium and magnessium. Packed cell volume was negatively related to adjusted corrected milk of the herd, and the trend was same In each lactational stage. The correlation coefficient between serum and packed cell volume was 0.16 and the correlation was very weak. Blood glucose concentration was lowest in early lactational stage, which indicates negative energy balance in early lactational stage. Blood glucose concentration was negatively related to adjusted corrected milk of herd from peak to late lactational stage, which indicates negative energy balance during the period in high-producing individuals or high-producing herds. Correlation coefficient between serum aspartate aminotransferase activity and serum ${\gamma}$-glutamyltransferase activity was 0.41, and this indicates that serum ${\gamma}$-glutamyltransferase should be included as a parameter of metabolic profile test to evaluate liver function. Body condition score of dairy cows in this country was lower than that of Japan in every lactational stages, and the magnitude of increase in body condition score during middle and late lactational stages was small.         소의 호흡기 감염증에 대한 Danofloxacin과 Oxytetracycline의 효과 비교

        A total of 108 Holstein calves with an average body weight of l19kg was studied in 4 farms in middle region of South Korea in late Autumn from November 8 to 27, 1991. Individuals were selected for treatment when they exhibited acute signs of pneumonia and had a rectal temperature of$\geq$4$0^{\circ}C$. Each animal received intramuscularly either danofloxacin at 1.25mg/kg once daily or oxytetracycline at 10mg/kg once daily for three consecutive days. The individuals which had a rectal temperature of$\geq$39.5$^{\circ}C$ at 24 hours after the third treatment received two further treatments. Treatment for three or five days with danofloxacin was very efficacious and superior to oxytetracycline in the treatment of calve pneumonia. Eighty-six per cent of 58 danofloxacin treated calves and sixty-six per cent of 50 oxytetracycline teated calves responded successfully to treatment for three days and the difference between treatment groups was highly significant. Danofloxacin was more efficacious than oxytetracycline in rapid and complete control of pyrexia and in resolution of clinical signs. The minimum inhibitory concentration of danofloxacin for Pasteurella hemolytica and Pasteurella multocida was equally 0.12~0.50 mcg/$m\ell$ while that of oxytetracycline for Pasteurella hemolytica and Pasteurella multocida was 2.0~4.0 and 4.0~16mcg/$m\ell$, respectively. During the treatment period side effect was not found in all animals of both treatment groups except some animals receiving oxytetracycline showed pain at the site of injection.

      • Climate Change Signal Analysis for Northeast Asian Surface Temperature

        <P>Climate change detection, attribution, and prediction were studied for the surface temperature in the Northeast Asian region using NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data and three coupled-model simulations from ECHAM4/OPYC3, HadCM3, and CCCma GCMs (Canadian Centre for Climate Modeling and Analysis general circulation model). The Bayesian fingerprint approach was used to perform the detection and attribution test for the anthropogenic climate change signal associated with changes in anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulfate aerosol (SO42-) concentrations for the Northeast Asian temperature. It was shown that there was a weak anthropogenic climate change signal in the Northeast Asian temperature change. The relative contribution of CO2 and SOl- effects to total temperature change in Northeast Asia was quantified from ECHAM4/OPYC3 and CCCma GCM simulations using analysis of variance. For the observed temperature change for the period of 1959-1998, the CO2 effect contributed 10%-21% of the total variance and the direct cooling effect of SO42- played a less important role (0% 7%) than the CO2effect. The prediction of surface temperature change was estimated from the second CO2+SO24- scenario run of ECHAM4/OPYC3 which has the least error in the simulation of the present-day temperature field near the Korean Peninsula. The result shows that the area-mean surface temperature near the Korean Peninsula will increase by about 1.1° by the 2040s relative to the 1990s.</P>
