        Topology-Hiding Broadcast Based on NTRUEncrypt

        Secure multi-party computation (MPC) has been a research focus of cryptography in resent studies. However, hiding the topology of the network in secure computation is a rather novel goal. Inspired by a seminal paper [1], we proposed a topology-hiding broadcast protocol based on NTRUEncrypt and secret sharing. The topology is concealed as long as any part of the network is corrupted. And we also illustrated the merits of our protocol by performance and security analysis.

        마약형법의 문화적 재구상

        이 글은 그동안 자기파괴적, 범죄적 행위로 여겨졌던 마약사용에 ‘문화성’을 부여할 수 있다는 전제에서 시작한다. 마약은 고대 샤머니즘 전통에서부터 오늘날 대도시의 파티문화에 이르기까지 인간의 삶에서 치료, 명상, 종교의식, 기분전환 등 다양한 기능을 수행해 왔다. 그러나 근대 형사법제는 ‘마약과의 전쟁’을 선포하고 마약을 시민들의 선량한 근로의식을 저해하는 ‘사회악’이자 ‘비도덕’에 위치시켰다. 이리하여 삶의 실존 양식과 깊이 관련을 맺었던 마약은 범죄, 무질서, 질병, 죽음 등의 온갖 부정적 이미지와 결부되어 시민의 삶에서 대대적으로 추방되었다. 이렇게 문화와 형법의 메울 수 없는 격차는 역작용으로 대항적 하위문화의 형성을 촉진한다. 히피, 힙합, 레이브 등 하위문화는 형법의 권위적 도덕주의 기획에 반발하여 마약에 독자적 의미와 상징을 부여한다. 마약 하위문화는 근대 마약형법이 이식한 ‘나약한 중독자’, ‘타락한 약쟁이’의 이미지 대신, 열악한 환경에서 고군분투하는 ‘허슬러’, 국가의 억압에 저항하는 ‘자유주의자’, 음악에 깊이 심취한 ‘마니아’ 등 대안적 의미와 상징을 창출한다. 마약 하위문화의 대안적 문화담론은 모든 마약행위를 적대시하는 대신에, 문화적 맥락을 고려하여 개별 마약행위의 불법성을 재평가해야 한다는 인식을 제공한다. 이 글은 문화를 품은 형법의 구체적인 모습으로 첫째, 기분전환용 마약의 ‘원칙적 허용-예외적 금지’ 모델채택, 둘째, 마약사용의 문화적 지향성을 고려한 기분전환용 마약의 정의 및 허용기준 마련, 셋째, 마약 문화의 자생적 문제해결 능력 우선 신뢰를 제시한다. 다양한 문화적 관점을 포용한 마약형법은 형법의 비례성 원칙, 보충성 원칙을 실현하고 인간의 자율성을 더 크게 보장하는 형법문화를 만드는데 이바지한다. This paper begins with the premise that drug use, which is broadly regarded as self-destructive and criminal, holds ‘culturality.’ From ancient shamanic traditions to contemporary metropolitan party culture, drugs play multiple roles in human life and feature in therapy, meditation, religious rituals and recreation, among others. However, the advent of modern criminal law has ushered in the ‘War on Drugs,’ newly situating drugs as ‘social evils’ and ‘immoral’ substances that degrade people’s work ethic. Accordingly, drugs, which were once an existential form of human life, are now associated with crime, disorders, disease and death and consequently purged out. This has created an unbridgeable gap between culture and criminal law while simultaneously encouraging the growth of counter subcultures. Subcultures, such as hippie, hip-hop and rave, resist the moralistic project of drug criminalization law by creating their own meanings and symbols of drug use. They oppose the images modern drug crime policies craft of ‘weak addicts’ or ‘corrupt junkies’, and instead, produce alternative meanings and symbols of drugs. These include the ‘hustler’ who struggles out of poverty to success, the ‘liberalist’ who counters the state’s restraints, and the ‘manic’ absorbed by music. In this way, subcultural discourses call for a reassessment of the illegality of respective drug use in light of the cultural context, rather than adhere to total prohibition of drug use. Drug criminalization laws contextualized within culture are likely to take three key approaches: First, they may adopt an opt-out approach rather than an opt-in approach, whereby all drugs for recreational use are permissible unless explicitly prohibited by law. Second, they may provide a definition and criteria for recreational drugs that consider the cultural context. Third, they may rely on the problem-solving competencies of the drug culture prior to imposing any criminal sanctions. Drug criminalization laws that incorporate cultural perspectives will improve the criminal legal culture where it upholds foundational principles of criminal law, such as proportionality and subsidiarity, and provides greater autonomy to individuals.

        고전문학 기반 문화콘텐츠의 가치화 양상 변화와 문학교육 - <심청전>과 희곡 <심봉사>, <달아 달아 밝은 달아>를 중심으로

        본 연구는 고전문학 교육의 제재나 참고자료로 활발하게 활용되는 문화콘텐츠를 그것이 기반으로 하는 원전과의 관계 속에서 평가할 때의 기준으로 ‘가치화 양상’을 살필 것을 제안하였다. 현대에 재창작된 고전문학 기반의 문화콘텐츠는 과거의 시각을 오늘날의 시각으로 극복하려는 시도이기에, 전통 사회의 이데올로기에 대한 비판과 반성의 메시지를 담는 경우가 많다. 그러나 원전이 담지하는 가치에 대해 ‘내용’에 입각하여 달라진 점을 따지는 것은 피상적인 논의에 그치기 쉬우므로, 본 연구에서는 가치에 대한 ‘태도’까지 포착할 수 있는 ‘가치화 양상’을 종합적인 지표로서 활용할 수 있다고 보았다. 이를 확인하기 위해 본 연구에서는 ‘효’를 핵심 가치로 삼은 <심청전>과 이를 콘텐츠화한 채만식의 희곡 <심봉사>, 최인훈의 <달아 달아 밝은 달아>를 비교해 보았다. 가치의 내용에 주목하면 <심봉사>와 <달아 달아 밝은 달아>는 모두 심청의 ‘효’가 더 이상 파급력 있는 가치가 아니라는 부정적 인식을 담고 있다는 분석이 가능하다. 그러나 가치화 양상을 중심으로 가치에 대한 태도까지 분석할 경우, 채만식의 <심봉사>는 주체 우위의 가치화 양상이, 최인훈의 <달아 달아 밝은 달아>에서는 규범 우위의 가치화 양상이 드러나 ‘효’가 자족적 차원에 머무르는지, 아니면 허울뿐인 규범으로만 남는지를 가릴 수 있게 된다. 이렇게 콘텐츠마다 각기 다른 문제의식과 응답이 드러남을 선명하게 비교하기 위해서는 표면적인 변화 양상뿐 아니라 ‘가치화 양상’이라는 심층적인 기준도 살펴 더 풍부한 논의의 기초 자료로 삼을 필요가 있다. This study suggests that ‘the aspects of valuing’ in cultural contents being actively adopted as the materials or references of classical literature education should be examined according to the criteria of when they are taught within the relationship with the originals they are grounded on. As classical literature-based cultural contents re-created in this age is the attempt to overcome perspectives in the past with today’s, it tends to contain the messages of criticism and reflection towards the ideology of traditional society. It can merely turn out to be superficial discussion to point out what have been changed about the value contained in the original only centering around ‘contents’, however, this researcher has regarded that ‘the aspects of valuing’ from which we can capture even ‘attitudes’ towards the value can be used as general indexes. To understand that, this study has compared Simcheong-jeon taking ‘hyo (孝; filial piety)’ as its core value with Chae Man-sik’s drama Simbongsa and Choi In-hun’s Moon, Moon, Bright Moon adopting the contents of it. Focusing on the contents of the value, we can analyze that both Simbongsa and Moon, Moon, Bright Moon have negative recognition that Simcheong’s ‘hyo’ can no longer be the value equipped with far-reaching power. When the aspects of valuing are mainly examined along with attitudes towards the value, however, the aspects of self-dominating value is found in Chae Man-sik’s Simbongsa and those of norm-dominating value in Choi In-hun’s Moon, Moon, Bright Moon. It means that we can distinguish if ‘hyo’ remains either in the self-sufficient dimension or just as specious norms. As written above, to compare clearly the contents revealing distinct critical minds and responses from each other, it is necessary to look into not only the aspects of superficial changes but ‘the aspects of valuing’, the profound criteria, too, so as to take them as foundational materials for even richer discussion.

        A 84-year-old man presented with chronic cough lasted for a year. Posterior-anterior upright methods of chest roentgenography showed multiple metastatic lung nodules in both lung fi eld. And bronchoscopy showed masses in the accessory bronchus in right distal trachea side and anterior basal trunk in right lower lobe. Therefore, he was underwent histological examination for each lesion. The results of histology had been reported in the necrotic tissue and aspergillosis, respectively. However, we thought it`s a result of the contamination, he was underwent further evaluation. A percutaneous needle biopsy revealed poorly differentiated carcinoma of unknown origin. In PET-CT and brain MRI, we found a single cerebellar metastatic lesion and multiple metastatic muscle lesions. Strangely, SUV values of lung nodules were not high but there was increased uptake in paraesophageal area in the PET-CT. Additional duodenoscopic examination proved no abnormality. In order to fi nd the origin site of cancer, we conducted additional immunohistochemial studies, and as a result, p63 and CK5/6 were positive, TTF-1 and napsin-A were negative, respectively. At last, we defi nitely diagnosed as squamous lung cancer and he had underwent chemotherapy. We experienced a casediscovered in multiple metastatic lung nodules that is different from the characteristics of universal squamous lung cancer of central invasion. So we would like to discuss differential diagnosis from metastatic cancer and sarcoidosis which can have similar image fi nding.

        Unmodifiable Clinicopathological Risk Factors of Shoulder Tip or Subcostal Pain after Laparoscopic Appendectomy

        Purpose: Appendectomy, which comprises most benign intra-abdominal surgeries, is currently assisted by laparoscopy in most cases. However, many patients complain of postoperative shoulder or subcostal pain after laparoscopic surgery. In some cases, the pain lasts even several weeks after surgery. This study aimed to analyze unmodifiable clinicopathological factors of patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy and to minimize preoperative and postoperative discomfort. Methods: Patients admitted for laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis with an American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) grades I and II, and ages 12–70 years were enrolled in the study. Postoperative shoulder or subcostal pain was assessed using the visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain and analyzed with the clinicopathological factors of the patients, including age, sex, weight, height, body mass index (BMI), and abdominal circumference (AC) difference. Results: Of the 124 patients, 40 complained of postoperative shoulder or subcostal pain with a VAS score of ≥4. The risk of the postoperative shoulder or subcostal pain increased in women (p = 0.001). From a univariate analysis, the risk of postoperative shoulder or subcostal pain increased with lower height, weight and BMI (p = 0.002, p = 0.001, p = 0.012) and with greater AC difference (p = 0.012). However, a multivariate analysis showed that lower weight was the only risk factor of postoperative pain (p = 0.005). Conclusions: The risk of postoperative shoulder or subcostal pain after laparoscopic appendectomy was significantly increased with lower weight.

      • Englishness and the Domestic Woman : A Study on the Representation of Convents in Radcliffe’s The Italian

        The rise of English nationalism developed in the eighteenth century. Fueled by antipathy towards Catholic France and the French-dominated cosmopolitan culture of the English aristocracy, Protestantism established itself as one of the key factors in the formation of an English national identity. As opposed to an effete aristocracy, the middle class also came to represent itself as the true repository of true Englishness. It is within the context of the intersection between religion and nationalism in early modern England that this paper attempts to read Ann Radcliffe, a female writer whose religious views served as an important avenue for creative expression as well as the articulation of Englishness. Radcliffe’s The Italian depicts several religious institutions as important sites determining the action of the novel. Some Catholic institutions such as the Santa della Pieta convent is presented as cruel and tyrannical like the Inquisition, which represents the corrupted Roman Catholic faith. In contrast, there are enlightened religious institutions that seem to represent a modern Englishness. In particular, the contrast between the two convents of the San Stefano and Santa della Pieta allows Radcliffe to show what an enlightened feminine domesticity might look like as opposed to the cruelty and irrationality of an aristocratic and Catholic past. The Convent of Santa della Pieta where Ellena meets her mother depicts a utopian sororal community based on mutual trust and love. The Santa della Pieta convent can be read as Radcliffe’s radical and subversive perspective on women’s role in the family and nation. Radcliffe shows that the idea, or ideal, of the feminocentric domestic community best represents English middle-class ideology throughout nation and empire.
