A multi-locus probe. called pHK-450. detecting multiple variable DNA fragments, was constructed by cloning of the 450 bp fragments into pCR?? vector, which could be obtained from amplification of the variable region of the D8S210 locus of human genome with a primer set of UF1. UR1, and UR2. The sequence data shows that the variable region is entirely G-C rich on one strand consisting of tetranucleotide repeat unit (GGAA)n at both margins and internally diversed regions with simple irregular repeat units of GGAA, GGAG, or GGGAA. The genetic complexixty of the resulting individual-specific DNA patterns was investigated by studying a Korean pedigree(both parents and 10 children). HaeIII and HinfI-generated DNA fragments are inherited to their children in a Mendelian manner with segregation ratio of 1:1.05 and 1:1.14. respectively. In the HinfI-digested genomic DNAs, the segregation of up to 25 variable DNA fragments from both parents could be analysed in a single sibship. Most of these variable DNA fragments detected by pHK-450 probe are not paired as allele, which suggests that they may be derived from 23 heterozygous loci. In the HaeIII-digested genomic DNA, 26 variable DNA fragments are segregated from both parents to 10 children. Excluding one allelic and three linked DNA fragments, 22 out of 26 scored DNA fragments may be derived from 23 hetrozygous loci. To determine the variability of DNA fragments, DNA samples from 113 unrelated Korean were digested with HinfI and hybridized using pHK-450 probe. Pairwise comparisons of individual variable DNA fragments show that the polymorphic patterns were highly specific to an individual. The mean probaility(X) that fragments in A individual is present in B individual is 0.0337. From the degree of maxiaml sharing, band approximate estimates of mean allele frequency and homozygosity is calculated being 0.187 and the mean heterozygossity is 89.69%. For pHK-450 probe, the probability that all 10 resolved DNA fragments in the 5-30 kb size range in an individual A are also present in a second unrelated individual B is (0.337)?? or 7.1 X 10??
장벽경색이 선행한 Henoch-Schonlein 자반증 1례

Henoch-Schonlein 자반증은 피부, 위장관, 관절, 신장 등을 주로 침범하며 소혈관염을 기본 병리 소견으로하는 전신성 혈관 장애 질환이다. 위장관계 증상으로는 복통, 오심 및 구토, 잠혈, 토혈, 흑색변 등이 있을 수 있고, 이러한 증상은 합병증 없이 회복되는 것이 보통이나 드물게는 장중첩증, 장벽경색 및 괴사, 장천공 등의 심한 합병증을 동반할 수도 있다. 이러한 위장관계 증상들은 특징적인 피부 소견에 선행하여 나타날 수도 있으며, 이때는 급성복증에 대한 감별진단이 중요하다. 저자들은 장벽경색이 선행하여 감별진단에 어려움을 겪고 시험적개복술을 시행한 이후에 특징적인 피부 자반이 발현되어 Henoch-Schonlein 자반증으로 진단할 수 있었던 증례를 경험하였기에 이를 보고하고자 한다. 본 증례는 입원 1일전부터 시작된 복통을 주소로 입원한 5세 남아가 배꼽 주위에 심한 경련성 복통을 지속적으로 호소하였고 이학적 소견상 배꼽주위의 압통, 장음의 감소, 흑색변 등이 있었으며 소장조영술상 공장 부위에 미만성의 불규칙한 점막비후 소견을 보여 제 8병일에 시험적개복술을 시행한 결과 근위 공장에 국한된 장괴사의 소견이 발견되어 절제 및 문합술을 실시 하였다. 병리학적 검사에서는 장벽경색의 소견을 보였다. 수술후에 복통은 완화되었으나 경미하게 지속되었고, 제 13병일경에 급성 부고환염이 병발되었다가 회복되었고 제 15병일경에는 하지에서부터 발현된 자반이 3일간 지속되었다. 결구 Henoch-Schonlein 자반증과 이의 합병증으로 발생한 근위 공장의 장벽경색으로 진단하였다. Colicky abdominal pain as symptom of Henoch-Schonlein purpura occurs in up to 70% of patients, and results from submucosal edema and hemorrhage. Abdominal pain and other GI symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, melena and hematemesis resolve mostly without any complications. But rarely life-threatening GI complications such as intussusception, intestinal mural infarction and necrosis, and massive hemorrhage may develope. In 14% of patients, abdominal pain may precede other symptoms, and creats diagnostic difficulties. We reports a case of the Henoch-Schonlein purpura presented with colicky abdominal pain which resulted from intestinal mural infarction and preceded characteristic purpuric skin lesion by several weeks. This 5 year old male patient complained of colicky abdominal pain, nausea and melena. Exploratory laparatomy was done and revealed intestinal mural infarction in proximal jejunum. One week later operation, purpuric skin lesion develiped in both leg and feet, and then, Henoch-Schonlein purpura was diagnosed.

In harbor design, it is a necessary condition to retain calmness inside a harbor. For this purpose, breakwaters are disposed as exterior structures against incident waves. There are cases that necessitate main and auxiliary breakwaters according to frequent directions of incident waves. In these cases, harbor entrances have various geometric shapes in horizontal plane. In the program developed here, harbor entrances are classified into six different cases by the disposition of breakwaters and the attack angle of incident waves. For each case, the diffraction phenomena inside and around harbor entrance are analysed by superposing the solutions of Sommerfeld's. The method gives fairly good results compared with those reported before, and also is proved to be computationally very efficient. Therefore, the method may be applicable to the preliminary design of breakwater dispositions, and also the program can be used as the basic subroutine in the calculation of wave height distributions inside a harbor with reflected waves.

SUMMARYWe now that system's modeling is to find the functional formulation of system's transformation process from input variables to output value. In this causal relationship, we assume that transformation process has very stable and predictable function and we can only determine parameters of the function.But in this system's modeling process, we bring up two problems. One is, in much cases, we have no conviction that really they have functional relationship. The others is, even if they have functional relationship we can not know the structure of functional equation.To solve this problem, we need a new method which could build functional formulation of itself. It is called self-organizing methods of modeling. GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) is one of these self-organizing methods.In this paper, the GMDH is used to build a model in some cases.The GMDH algorithm, which was introduced and developed by Ivakhnenko, constructs high-order functional models for complex systems. GMDH self-organized the model from a simple one to one of optimal complexity by a methodology using the process of survival-of-the-fillest principle to determine which new equations to live and which equations to die. This new generation of equations will then be better suited to describe our system then the original this GMDH algorithm has thee steps in detail below. step 1 : constructing new variables Z1, Z2, ......Zm(m-1)/2 step 2 : screening out the less effective variables step 3 : test for optimality We developed this GMDH algorithm to a computer program. We applied GMDH to estimate the function which gives the value of degree of freedom by using Chai square(x2) distribution probability values and time series analysis of stock price estimation. In this trial, we used some previously-known data and the estimation ability of GMDH was good.In conclusion, the GMDH is excellent to build model to estimate dependent variable without specifying functional formulation in system modeling. So, in future study, we can apply this GMDH algorithm to develop the structure of neural network in forecasting and the area of medical science, economic model, etc.

The purpose of this study was to investigate children's(K-5) conceptions about light in Korea. The two aspect of children's conceptions about light were identified: the sources of light, the nature of vision. Data were collected from 92 children by a mixture of writing, drawing and interview, and were analysed by systematic networks. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. Children showed an awareness of a wide variety of sources of light. The predominant sources exampled by children were primary sources. 2. Children explained vision as intentional actvivty of seeing Seeing. means action that move their heal or eyes to the objects. Infants(K-1) did not recognize that light are needed for vision. 3. A notable features in children's conceptions about light were context-dependent

The copper and zinc in scalp hair are determined by the ICP-AES and the relations between the trace elements concentrations with disease activity for the rheumatoid arthritis are investigated. The concentrations of the metals are varied depending upon the distance from the skin. The concentrations at the distal are higher than that of the proximal. Zinc concentration of the rheumatoid arthritis patients is higher than that of the osteroarthritis ones, and the confidence level that the group are different lies 95-99%. However, copper concentration for rheumatoid arthritis patients is lower and the two groups are different with a 50-80% confidence level.

Modern society is characterized by the rapid development of scientific technology, the equalization of human relations, the development of public culture and their participation, and the development of information media. People in modern society face various social problems according to the inadequate usage of relatively increased free time cased from recent social changes thus the interests and desires for sound use of free time are being increased. Leisure in future society is related to self-development and self-expansion and is recognized as new culture of leisure activities. Leisure & Recreation means the status that is freed from labor and other social responsibilities. It is the time for the rest, change of mood, self-development, and self-realization thus it could be interpreted as the time of creative activities for the self enhancement. But, the actual situation of leisure is not quite optimistic, according to the analysis of the usage of free time. Current major problems are the absence of education for usage of free time and the increase of negative free time as the entire free time has been increased. The problems can be solved by the changes of recognition toward leisure through the planned and consistent education; development of new leisure culture; development of spread of programs related to school education, and training and disposition of specialists. Sports in 21st century become more inclusive and comprehensive. Leisure activities and sports have same values for the pursuit of human welfare and satisfaction of living. Thus, we should expand the social benefits and characteristics of sports and utilize the educational functions of sports as we provide and execute them to schools and various social organizations. Such efforts would contribute to not only well-being and health, but also to build the appropriate outlook of leisure, sound use of free time and proper leisure culture, then even for the substantial element to lead social changes of future.

석회암을 이용한 골재의 알칼리 반응성을 측정하기 위하여 한국공업규격의 표준시험 방법에 의한 팽창성을 측정하였다. 기존의 연구결과에 의하면 특히 백운석을 포함하는 석회암의 경우 골재-알칼리 반응이 상당한 것으로 알려지고 있으나, 본 연구에 사용된 석회암 시료의 경우는 알칼리 반응성이 매우 작은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 역학적 특성의 결과도 매우 양호하며 골재로서의 활용성이 충분한 것으로 판단된다. An experimental program was undertaken to investigate the alkali-aggregate reaction of limestone aggregates, following the standard testing method for potential alkali reactivity of carbonate rocks for concrete aggregates. It is generally known tat dolomitic limestones may exhibit high potential of alkali-aggregate reaction. However, the limestone samples employed in this study showed negligible effect of the alkali reaction, even with substantial dolomite content. It is also concluded that the mechanical properties of the limestone aggregates are adaptable for concrete aggregates

Error control is one of major concerns in many computer systems. Experience shows that most malfunctions during system operation are caused by transient faults, which often mean abnormal signal delays that may result in violations of circuit element timing constraints. This paper presents a novel CMOS-based concurrent timing error detector that makes a flip-flop (or other timing-sensitive circuit element) to sense and then signal whether its data has been potentially corrupted or not by a setup or hold timing violation. Designed circuit performs a quiescent supply current evaluation to determine timing violation from the input changes in relation to a clock edge. If the input is too close to the clock time, the resulting switching transient current in the detection circuit exceeds a reference threshold at the instant of the clock transition and an error is flagged. The simulation results in this paper shows that designed circuit can be used to detect setup and hold time violations effectively in clocked circuit element.
