( Prajapati Jashbhai B ),( Neelam M Nathani ),( Amrutlal K Patel ),( Suja Senan ),( Chaitanya G Joshi ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2013 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.23 No.4
The lactic acid bacterium Streptococcus thermophilus is widely used as a starter culture for the production of dairy products. Whole-genome sequencing is expected to utilize the genetic basis behind the metabolic functioning of lactic acid bacterium (LAB), for development of their use in biotechnological and probiotic applications. We sequenced the whole genome of Streptococcus thermophilus MTCC 5461, the strain isolated from a curd source, by 454 GS-FLX titanium and Ion Torrent PGM. We performed comparative genome analysis using the local BLAST and RDP for 16S rDNA comparison and by the RAST server for functional comparison against the published genome sequence of Streptococcus thermophilus CNRZ 1066. The whole genome size of S. thermophilus MTCC 5461 is of 1.73Mb size with a GC content of 39.3%. Streptococcal virulence-related genes are either inactivated or absent in the strain. The genome possesses coding sequences for features important for a probiotic organism such as adhesion, acid tolerance, bacteriocin production, and lactose utilization, which was found to be conserved among the strains MTCC 5461 and CNRZ 1066. Biochemical analysis revealed the utilization of 17 sugars by the bacterium, where the presence of genes encoding enzymes involved in metabolism for 16 of these 17 sugars were confirmed in the genome. This study supports the facts that the strain MTCC 5461 is nonpathogenic and harbors essential features that can be exploited for its probiotic potential.

An Aurivillius oxide, Bi(2/3)-xGdxCu3Ti4O12 (x = 0.05, 0.10, and 0.20) ceramic designated as BGCTO-0.05, BGCTO-0.1 and BGCTO-0.2 has been fabricated by modified solid-state route resemble with semi wet route and characterized by using various techniques including XRD, SEM, EDX, TEM and XPS for getting information about phase formation, morphology, particle size distribution and oxidation state of elements of synthesized ceramics. X-ray diffraction pattern confirmed the single-phase formation of BGCTO ceramic. The crystalline nature of BGCTO ceramic for few selected compositions, x = 0.05, 0.10, and 0.20 were observed by TEM analysis. Further, particle size was determined with the help of Image J software and found to be 90.85 ± 5 nm, 75.35 ± 5 nm and 72.43 ± 5 nm, respectively for BGCTO-0.05, BGCTO-0.1 and BGCTO-0.2 ceramic. The dielectric permittivity (εr) as well as tangent loss (tan δ) was observed at room temperature and 1 kHz for all synthesized ceramics. The electrical behaviour of BGCTO ceramic revealed the presence of semiconducting grain separated by grain boundaries.
Optimization of Glucoamylase Production by Colletotrichum sp. KCP1 Using Statistical Methodology
Vimal S. Prajapati,Ujjval B. Trivedi,Kamlesh C. Patel 한국식품과학회 2013 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.22 No.1
Glucoamylase is a key enzyme used in the food processing as well as in commercial production of glucose from starch. A natural fungal strain identified as Colletotrichum sp. KCP1 using 18S rDNA partial genome sequencing has been studied for optimization of glucoamylase production. Media components were screened and optimized through the statistical approach for the synthesis of glucoamylase in solid state fermentation using wheat bran as the substrate. The medium components influencing the enzyme production were identified using Plackett-Burman design. Among various variables screened along with wheat bran as major growth substrate, starch, whey, and casein acid hydrolyasate were found to be most significant. The optimum concentrations of these significant parameters were determined employing the response surface central composite design, revealing starch concentration (1.5 g),whey (0.1 mL), and casein acid hydrolysate (0.1 g) per 5 g of wheat bran for highest enzyme production.
SOME INTEGRAL TRANSFORMS INVOLVING EXTENDED GENERALIZED GAUSS HYPERGEOMETRIC FUNCTIONS
Choi, Junesang,Kachhia, Krunal B.,Prajapati, Jyotindra C.,Purohit, Sunil Dutt Korean Mathematical Society 2016 대한수학회논문집 Vol.31 No.4
Using the extended generalized integral transform given by Luo et al. [6], we introduce some new generalized integral transforms to investigate such their (potentially) useful properties as inversion formulas and Parseval-Goldstein type relations. Classical integral transforms including (for example) Laplace, Stieltjes, and Widder-Potential transforms are seen to follow as special cases of the newly-introduced integral transforms.

Aralia elata is found in mountain areas all over Korean peninsula. Aralia elata is the scientific name for Japanese angelica tree. The tree belongs to the family Araliaceae, commonly known as ginseng family. Bud sprouts from apical shoot tip of the plants are rich in flavor and thus mainly used for both folk medicine and vegetable. The stalks with apical buds are gathered in the early spring and planted in sandy soil or water in the greenhouse. The sprouting buds are then collected and sold as fresh vegetable. Although the plants have been used for food, they have been cultivated in a very small scale. In spring, local farmers just go around mountain areas to search the trees and gather the stalks as much as they get and sell them to the market. No conservation efforts have been made to stop the exploitation or to save the dwindling population. We tried to provide local farmers with the plants that may be used as an alternative to stalks from wild populations. This will bel! p conserve the wild populations. However, it is hard to propagate them either by conventional cuttings or by seed germination in a short period of time. Mass propagation using tissue culture systems have shown a great promise with several woody plants. Recently we developed a mass propagation technique via somatic embryogenesis system using mature and/or juvenile explants for Aralia elata. Several factors affecting somatic embryogenesis system including SE(somatic embryo) induction, embryogenic callus proliferation, SE germination, plant regeneration and transplanting to field frill be presented. And some problems arising for the somatic embryogenesis system will be also discussed.

Background: The currently available topical diclofenac products do not provide effective penetration of diclofenac across the layers of skin. Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd, has developed Dynapar QPS PlusⓇ, a novel, topical formulation of diclofenac and compared its skin penetration with Diclofenac Aerosol Spray. Methods: In this randomized, two way crossover study, healthy human subjects (n = 8) received single dose of either 2 ml of Dynapar QPS Plus or approximately 4 gm of marketed Diclofenac Aerosol Spray. The blood samples were drawn at pre dose and up to 24 hours post dose. The plasma concentrations of Diclofenac was measured using validated LC-MS/MS bioanalytical method. Results: The mean Cmax after administration of Dynapar QPS Plus and Diclofenac Aerosol Spray were 102.945 ± 66.0109 and 15.885 ± 14.7750 ng/ml, respectively. Median Tmax for Dynapar QPS Plus was earlier compared to Diclofenac Aerosol Spray (7 hrs vs. 19 hrs). The mean AUC0-t after administration of Dynapar QPS Plus was significantly higher as compared to Diclofenac Aerosol Spray (AUC0-t: 855.289 ± 494.0262 vs. 149.707 ± 116.6317). Both the products were well tolerated and no adverse event occurred during the study. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that Dynapar QPS Plus is safe and provides faster and more than six times higher skin penetration of diclofenac in comparison to marketed Diclofenac Aerosol Spray. Due to faster and higher penetration of diclofenac, from Dynapar QPS Plus it is best suitable option to treat pain and inflammation related to acute as well chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
Regeneration and selection of root resistant Coleus forskohlii A threatened medicinal plant
George, Manju M.,Ssubramanian, R.B.,Prajapati, Hiren A. The Plant Resources Society of Korea 2001 Plant Resources Vol.4 No.2
Coleus forskohlii Briq, of the family Lamiaceae yields a valuable secondary metabolity known as forskolin which is a labdane diterpenoid.. Coleus forskohlii is the only known source of this compound. Forskolin is used in medicine for the treatment of glaucoma, congestive cardiomyopathy and asthma. Morphogenic callus was induced from young leaves on MS medium augmented with NAA and BA. These calli, when subcultured on MS with KN alone gave rise to shoots. The regenerated shoot developed good root system on MS medium fortified with NAA. The fully grown plantlets were transferred to soil for acclimatization. Coleus plant is mainly infected by a fungi Lasiodiplodia theobromae which causes root rot disease. The fungal culture filterate (ECE) of Lasiodiplodia theobromae, has been used in regeneration media to find the MIC and further to select resistant plants to the pathogen. In the present study 40% ECF in the medium showed maximum inhibition and is there fore considered as the MIC level of Coleus forshohlii. This data could prove to be useful for the future for selecting a resistant C.forskohlii plant against the root disease caused by L. theobromae.
SOME INTEGRAL TRANSFORMS AND FRACTIONAL INTEGRAL FORMULAS FOR THE EXTENDED HYPERGEOMETRIC FUNCTIONS
Agarwal, Praveen,Choi, Junesang,Kachhia, Krunal B.,Prajapati, Jyotindra C.,Zhou, Hui Korean Mathematical Society 2016 대한수학회논문집 Vol.31 No.3
Integral transforms and fractional integral formulas involving well-known special functions are interesting in themselves and play important roles in their diverse applications. A large number of integral transforms and fractional integral formulas have been established by many authors. In this paper, we aim at establishing some (presumably) new integral transforms and fractional integral formulas for the generalized hypergeometric type function which has recently been introduced by Luo et al. [9]. Some interesting special cases of our main results are also considered.
