Lipomatosis: a diverse form of hemifacial hyperplasia
Arora, Preeti Chawla,Umarji, Hemant R.,Arora, Aman,Ramaswami, Easwaran Korean Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology 2012 Imaging Science in Dentistry Vol.42 No.3
A case of hemifacial hyperplasia that presented with muscular, skeletal, and dental hyperplasia along with lipomatous infiltration was described. Advanced imaging was useful in identifying the lipomatous infiltration present in the lesion, which raises the possibility of lipomatosis having a diverse presentation in hemifacial hyperplasia. As there was a scarcity of related literature in the field of dentomaxillofacial radiology, this report would make us familiar with its computed tomographic and magnetic resonance image findings.
Multicriteria Quadratic Plant Location Problem
Sudha Arora,S.R. Arora 한국경영과학회 2008 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.14 No.1
In this paper, we have considered the multicriteria quadratic plant location problem. In addition to the allocation costs, the maintenance costs of the plants are also considered. The objective functions considered in this paper are quadratic in nature. The given problem is reduced to the problem with linear objective function. The method of Fernandez and Puerto (2003) is applied to solve the reduced problem. It is illustrated with help of examples. The effect of the change in the allocation and maintenance costs on allocation of plants to the clients has also been discussed.

The Research paper deals with the several facet of image processing like color detection and some applications of it. It will enable you to make gestures with the help of RGBY colors. The colors are detected on the basis of a property named centroid. On the basis of the coordinates of the centroid, apply distance algorithm and get the distance. By varying the distance between the fingers, different gestures can be made which can perform various operations of today’s digital world and also be applied to the industries.

Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) are capable of modelling information with more uncertainties in decision-making problems. The essential feature of PFSs is that they are described by three parameters: membership function, non-membership function and hesitant margin, with the total of the squares of each parameter equal to one. The purpose of this article is to suggest some new similarity measures and weighted similarity measures for PFSs. Numerical computations have been carried out to validate our proposed measures. Applications of these measures have been applied to some real-life decision-making problems of pattern detection and medicinal investigations. Moreover, a descriptive illustration is employed to compare the results of the proposed measures with the existing analogous similarity measures to show their effectiveness.
Feature selection for improved classification accuracy targeting riverine sand mapping
Arora Virat,Rao S. Srinivasa,E. Amminedu,P. Jagadeeswara Rao 대한공간정보학회 2021 Spatial Information Research Vol.29 No.3
Regular monitoring of riverine sand is crucial for its sustainable management. Towards readily generating spatial information regarding the extent of riverine sand, this study utilizes satellite-based remote sensing data as input features while applying Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier to discern the inherent land cover classes. The input features comprised of spectral bands, derived spectral indices, derived textural features and ancillary information such as elevation, slope and aspect. The objective of this study was to identify a set of features that help improve the SVM classification accuracy with respect to the benchmark accuracy achieved by using only the spectral bands. Apart from testing a few commonly used logical combinations of features, the study focused on employing the Correlation-based Feature Selection (CFS) method along with the best-first search algorithm to generate a feature-set that comprised of most relevant and least correlated features. This feature-set was found to improve the SVM classification accuracy by 2.9% with respect to the benchmark value. Further, when tested with the limited number of training samples, similar results were achieved. This study proves that it is beneficial to utilize the CFS method for feature selection prior to SVM classification and recommends a set of 19 remote sensing derived features that are relevant towards riverine sand mapping.

<P>In practice, the complete autotrophic nitrogen removal or partial-nitritation (PN) and anaerobic ammonium oxidation (ANAMMOX) process (PN/A) has gained immense popularity and widespread application owing to its low operational cost and better treatment possibilities. However, ANAMMOX-based systems are inhibited by numerous factors that pose enormous challenge to the success of this technology. Hence, in lieu of finding optimum operational strategies, a PN/A sequencing batch reactor for treating high-strength ammonia wastewater obtained from an anaerobic digester was evaluated for 400 days. The impact of processing unit cycle strategies on process performance was evaluated with the amalgamation of intermittent feeding and aeration. The ecofriendly and eco-efficient system, adopted in this study, ensured enhanced cost-effective nitrogen removal along with reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions underlying stringent regulation. Nitrogen removal rate of 81% along with 68% reduction in GHG emissions compared to the conventional nitrification/denitrification system (29% lower than the last reported ANAMMOX system) was successfully achieved. The key concerns in negating the impacts of ANAMMOX inhibition caused by the seven most influential parameters/mechanisms are also addressed.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
Credit Risk Measurement Practices in Indian Commercial Banks - An Empirical Investigation
Arora, Swaranjeet KNU The Institute of Management Economy Research 2014 Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Vol.5 No.2
Banking institutions have been facing variety of difficulties but the major cause of serious banking problems relates to lax credit standards for borrowers and counterparties, poor portfolio risk management, or a lack of attention to changes in economic or other circumstances that can lead to deterioration in the credit standing of a bank's counterparties. Although credit risk is an important factor that financial institutions should cope with, but the determinants of measuring credit risk have been studied less. This paper attempts to explore the determinants of credit risk measurement and to identify the factors that contribute to credit risk measurement practices in Indian banks and to compare credit risk measurement practices followed by Indian public and private sector banks, the empirical study has been conducted and views of employees of various banks have been tested using statistical tools. This study explored the phenomenon from different perspectives and revealed that single-name credit risk measurement and portfolio credit risk measurement are the key components that contribute to credit risk measurement in Indian banks. From the descriptive and analytical results, it can be concluded that Indian banks efficiently measure credit risk. The results also indicate that there is a significant difference between the Indian public and private sector banks in single-name credit risk measurement while, these banks do not significantly differ in portfolio credit risk measurement aspect.

Genetic Diversity of Magra Sheep from India Using Microsatellite Analysis
Arora, R.,Bhatia, S. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2006 Animal Bioscience Vol.19 No.7
Genetic diversity of Magra - a lustrous carpet wool breed of India, was investigated by means of 25 ovine microsatellite markers proposed by the Food and Agriculture Organization and the International Society for Animal Genetics (FAO-ISAG). All used microsatellites amplified well and exhibited polymorphisms. A wide range of genetic variability was observed as allele number from 3 (BM6506, OarCP20) to 10 (CSSM31), observed heterozygosity from 0.200 (BM6506) to 0.947 (OarHH35), expected heterozygosity from 0.368 (CSSM47) to 0.864 (BM1314) and Polymorphism Information Content (PIC) from 0.347 (CSSM47) to 0.849 (BM1314). This supported the utility of these microsatellite loci in the measurement of genetic diversity indices in Indian sheep too. Various average genetic variability measures viz., allele diversity (5.7), observed heterozygosity (0.597), expected heterozygosity (0.694) and mean PIC (0.648) values showed high genetic variability despite accumulated inbreeding as reflected by the high average inbreeding coefficient ($F_{IS}=0.159$) due to the unequal sex ratio of the breeding animals.
