An Introduction to Problems of Economic Developmentin the CMEA Countries
Holub,Alois 연세대학교 동서문제연구소 1980 東西硏究 JOURNAL OF EAST AND WEST STUDIES Vol.9 No.2
This paper provides a general analysis of economic development of the member countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA) and discusses selected economic policy and planning issues which have emerged during the process of building up the socialist economy in these countries. The analysis is based on the official CMEA statistics and other sources of data available at ESCAP in December 1980.
Effective Admission Policy for Multimedia Traffic Connections over Satellite DVB-RCS Network
Pasquale Pace,Gianluca Aloi 한국전자통신연구원 2006 ETRI Journal Vol.28 No.5
Thanks to the great possibilities of providing different types of telecommunication traffic to a large geographical area, satellite networks are expected to be an essential component of the next-generation internet. As a result, issues concerning the designing and testing of efficient connection-admission-control (CAC) strategies in order to increase the quality of service (QoS) for multimedia traffic sources, are attractive and at the cutting edge of research. This paper investigates the potential strengths of a generic digital-video-broadcasting return-channel-via-satellite (DVBRCS) system architecture, proposing a new CAC algorithm with the aim of efficiently managing real-time multimedia video sources, both with constant and high variable data rate transmission; moreover, the proposed admission strategy is compared with a well-known iterative CAC mainly designed for the managing of realtime bursty traffic sources in order to demonstrate that the new algorithm is also well suited for those traffic sources. Performance analysis shows that, both algorithms guarantee the agreed QoS to real-time bursty connections that are more sensitive to delay jitter; however, our proposed algorithm can also manage interactive real-time multimedia traffic sources in high load and mixed traffic conditions.
Visual Odometry based on a Bernoulli Filter
Feihu Zhang,Daniel Clarke,Alois Knoll 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2015 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.13 No.3
In this paper, we propose a Bernoulli filter for estimating a vehicle’s trajectory under random finite set (RFS) framework. In contrast to other approaches, ego-motion vector is considered as the state of an extended target while the features are considered as multiple measurements that originated from the target. The Bernoulli filter estimates the state of the extended target instead of tracking individual features, which presents a recursive filtering framework in the presence of high association uncertainty. Experimental results illustrate that the proposed approach exhibits good robustness under real traffic scenarios.

The association of verotoxic E. coli and Acinetobacter spp. with various antibiotic-resistant, diarrhogenic, and nosocomial infections has been a cause for concern worldwide. E. coli and A. haemolyticus isolated on a number of selective media were screened for virulence factors, antibiotic resistance, and transformation of resistance genes. Out of 69 E. coli isolates obtained, 25 (35.23%), 14 (20.30%), and 28 (40.58%) were positive for Vtx1&2, Vtx1, and Vtx2, respectively, 49 (71.015%) for extendedspectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs), 34 (49.28%) for serum resistance, 57 (82.61%) for cell surface hydrophobicity, 48 (69.57%) for gelatinase production, and 37 (53.62%) for hemolysin production. For the 14 A. haemolyticus isolates, only 2 (14.29%) in each case from all the samples investigated were positive for Vtx1, Vtx2 and Vtx1&2 respectively, 8 (57.14%) for ESBLs, 7 (50.00%) for serum resistance, 11 (78.57%) for cell surface hydrophobicity, 4 (28.57%) for gelatinase production, and 8 (57.14%) for hemolysin production. Although transformation occurred among the E. coli and Acinetobacter isolates (transformation frequency: 13.3 × 10-7 -53.4-7), there was poor curing of the plasmid genes, a confirmation of the presence of stable antibiotic-resistant genes (DNA concentration between 42.7 and 123.8 μg) and intragenetic transfer of multidrugresistant genes among the isolates. The isolates were potentially virulent and contained potentially transferable antibiotic resistance genes. Detection of virulence factors, antibiotic resistance genes, and transformation among these isolates is a very significant outcome that will influence approaches to proactive preventive and control measures and future investigations. However, continued surveillance for drug resistance among these bacteria and further investigation of the mechanism of action of their virulence factors are a necessity.
Sputter-Redeposition Method for the Fabrication of Automatically Sealed Micro/Nanochannel using FIBs
김흥배,Gerhard Hobler,Andreas Steiger,Alois Lugstein,Emmerich Bertagnolli,Elmar Platzgummer,Hans Loeschner 한국정밀공학회 2011 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
In this article, we report a new method for micro/nano fluidic channel fabrication by focused ion beams (FIB) utilizing the redeposition flux, or what we will refer to in this paper as SRM (sputter-redeposition method). Sputtered particles are byproduct of sputter process whereas it limits the focused ion beam (FIB) process. However, the sputtered particles can be useful in the fabrication of certain shapes of structures. The objective of this article is the demonstration of active utilization of the sputtered particles. A micro/nano-fluidic channel fabrication is demonstrated for the topic. As an application, in the fluidic channel fabrication we demonstrate two-step process; trench formation and automatic sealing in the micro-/nanometer range. This method channels from hundreds to tens of nanometers wide can be fabricated by using silicon as a channel substrate. The shape and dimensions of the channel cross-section are readily changed by varying the process parameters. This control of redeposition technique is advantageous because of the accuracy and simplicity of the process compare to other fluidic channel fabrication process.
Robust Vehicle-Infrastructure Localization Using Factor Graph and Probability Data Association
Feihu Zhang,Mingyong Liu,Dhiraj Gulati,Alois Knoll 한국통신학회 2018 Journal of communications and networks Vol.20 No.4
This paper presents a robust graph-based optimizationframework for vehicle-infrastructure cooperative localization. Compared to the state-of-the-art approaches, the proposed solutionkeeps high performance in presence of unknown data associationenvironments. In this paper, the association probability of eachmeasurement is calculated, and then assigned to the correspondingedges on the graph, in which the nonlinear least square method isutilized to optimize the state. Thus the proposed approach presentsa robust framework in the presence of high association uncertaintyduring vehicle-infrastructure cooperative localization, in which thecorresponding weights from outliers are lower than the true vehicles. The experimental results demonstrate the good robustness insimulated data.
