Adenanthera pavonina L. is an important medicinal plant for Indonesian traditional medicine (“Jamu”). The present study is to determine the phenolic content and evaluate the antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate and ethanolic extracts of leaves and bark of A. pavonina. The total phenolic content was determined using the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent methods, and the antioxidant activity was performed by phosphomolybdate assay, through EC50 values. The highest phenolic content (81.379 mg GAE/g) was found in the hydro-ethanolic extract of the leaves and (80.630 mg GAE/g) in the bark. The antioxidant activity of the two samples was 42.270 mg/mL (leaves) and 45.261 mg/mL (bark). Plants have the potential as drugs with good antioxidant potential and phenolic compound content. Further scientific studies of this plant are supported to evaluate the antioxidant activity using other methods to validate these preliminary experiments properly.

This report describes the case of an edentulous patient with an atrophic maxilla and severe class III malocclusion. Prosthetic rehabilitation was performed using CAD/CAM techniques for manufacturing an implant-supported overdenture with horizontal insertion. A vestibulo-lingual insertion overdenture is a precision prosthesis with a fixation system affording a good fit between the primary and secondary structure. Both structures exhibit passive horizontal adjustment. This treatment option requires the same number of implants as implant-supported fixed dentures. The horizontal assembly system prevents the prosthesis from loosening or moving in response to axial and non-axial forces. The technique was used to rehabilitate a patient presenting an atrophic upper maxilla, with the insertion of 8 implants. No complications were reported at follow-up 3, 6 and 12 months after fitting of the prosthesis. This system offers solutions to the clinical and laboratory complications associated with hybrid prostheses, concealing emergence of the chimneys and improving implant-prosthesis hygiene.

This study about hotel bookings in Spain analyzes the influence of three low price signals and the type of distribution channel on perceived value and behavioral intentions: Positive influences on perceived value and buying intention were found for price beating guarantee and for always low price signals but the distribution channel was only found to have an effect on behavioral intentions. Finally, it has been detected that gender plays a moderating role on both perceived value and buying intention.

The industrial production index of Japan and South Korea: a dynamic relationship
Agustin Alonso-Rodriguez 한국사회과학협의회 2015 Korean Social Science Journal Vol.42 No.1
In this paper, a dynamic relationship between the industrial production index (IPI) of Japan and the IPI of South Korea is presented. With the help of a VAR(2) model, and using the terminology of Granger causality, it is shown that the IPI of Japan Granger causes the IPI of South Korea, but the IPI of South Korea Granger does not cause the IPI of Japan. Other aspects of this dynamic relationship between these two indices are presented as well.

HJ-Biplot analysis is a multivariate graphic representation that collects data covariation structure between variables and individuals to represent them in a low-dimensional space with the highest quality in the same reference system. Consequently, it is a promising technique for evaluating dietary exposure to polyphenols and accurately characterizing female nutrition. Herein, we hypothesized that polyphenol intake defines specific clusters with dietary impacts, which can be assessed using HJ-Biplot, based on a cross-sectional study in Argentina. The study included 275 healthy postpartum women who provided information about their food frequency intake and other conditions, which were then used to evaluate polyphenolic intake using the Phenol-Explorer database. Outcomes were established using HJ-Biplot for clustering and ANOVA to compare their impact on diet quality indicators. Two HJ-Biplot models were run (for intakes >20 mg/d and 5∼20 mg/d, respectively) to identify three clusters per model with excellent statistical fitness to explain the data. Thus, specific polyphenolic clusters with potentially bioactive and safe compounds were defined despite significant interindividual variability. In fact, women with the lowest polyphenolic intake exhibited worse dietary quality, body fat, and physical activity. As a result, HJ-Biplot proved to be an effective technique for clustering women based on their dietary intake of these compounds. Furthermore, cluster membership improved the intake of antioxidants, water, fiber, and healthy fats. Additionally, women with formal jobs and a higher educational level showed a better diet. Dietary polyphenols are critical during postpartum because they exert beneficial effects on women and breastfed infants.

Predisposing factors for Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome: a systematic review
( Diego Agustin Abelleyra Lastoria ),( Clerin Kulangara Benny ),( Caroline Blanca Hing ) 대한슬관절학회 2023 대한슬관절학회지 Vol.35 No.-
Background Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome has been defined as impingement of Hoffa’s fat pad, leading to oedema and fibrosis. The primary aim of this systematic review was to identify morphological differences in Hoffa’s fat pad between patients with and without Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome, evaluating them as risk factors predisposing to its development. The secondary aim was to summarize and evaluate current evidence pertaining to the management of Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome. Materials and Methods The protocol for this review was prospectively registered (PROSPERO registration: CRD42022357036). Electronic databases, currently registered studies, conference proceedings and the reference lists of included studies were searched. All studies evaluating differences in Hoffa’s fat pad anatomy under imaging between patients with and without Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome were included, as well as those exploring epidemiological factors predisposing to its development (ethnicity, employment status, sex, age and BMI), and studies reporting on the effect of treatment on Hoffa’s fat pad morphology. Results A total of 3871 records were screened. Twenty one articles satisfied the inclusion criteria, evaluating 3603 knees of 3518 patients. Patella alta, increased tibial tubercle-tibial groove distance, and increased trochlear angle were found to predispose the development of Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome. Trochlear inclination, sulcus angle, patient age and BMI were not associated with this condition. The link between Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome and ethnicity, employment, patellar alignment, Hoffa’s fat pad composition, physical activity and other pathological processes cannot be established due to lack of evidence. No studies reporting on treatment for Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome were identified. Though weight loss and gene therapy may provide symptomatic relief, further research is required to corroborate these claims. Conclusion Current evidence suggests that high patellar height, TT-TG distance, and trochlear angle predispose the development of Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome. In addition, trochlear inclination, sulcus angle, patient age and BMI do not seem to be associated with this condition. Further research should explore the link between Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome and sport as well as other conditions pertaining to the knee. In addition, further study evaluating treatment approaches for Hoffa’s fat pad syndrome is required.
Minimal invasive treatment of biliary leak after laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Pablo Agustin Acquafresca 소화기인터벤션의학회 2019 International journal of gastrointestinal interven Vol.8 No.1
The laparoscopic cholecystectomy has become one of the most common operations for treatment of symptomatic gallbladder disease. However sig-nificant postoperative biliary duct injuries can occur, leading to biliary leaks. Here we present a case where multiple abdominal collections are de-tected in a 64-year-old male patient who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy due to gallbladder stones two weeks prior. Percutaneous drainage under computed tomography guidance is implemented to treat the collections which result to be bilomas. After controlling the leak, an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography with papillotomy and stent placement is performed believing that the problem was settled in the cystic duct. But after observing that the leak increased with this treatment, an anatomical variation is suspected. A percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography is performed which confirm the diagnosis. In case of any deviation of a normal surgical post operatory, a biliary leak must be suspected. Surgeons nowadays must be trained in different diagnosis and treatment methods.
