Versatile role of 2D Ti3C2 MXenes for advancements in the photodetector performance: A review

Nowadays, layer-structured two-dimensional (2D) Ti3C2 MXenes have been created a platform as promisingcandidates for developing next-generation photodetectors. Scalable spatial organization of Ti3C2MXenes enables responsive template at the interface of various semiconductors for significant improvementin the photodetector performance. In this review, we provide prospective discussion on geometricalpotentiality of 2D Ti3C2 MXenes to advance the current photodetector device performance. Specifically,we guide the versatility of Ti3C2 MXenes such as a metal electrode, flexible material, transparent nature,and self-power behavior during UV, visible, and broadband photodetector performance. By the excellenceof 2D Ti3C2, we begin to comprehend the Schottky barrier, built-in electric field, and van der Walls heterojunctionformation. It is imperative to understand the vast opportunities of Ti3C2 MXene-based photodetectorseven under flexible conditions, which is higher than conventional gold and graphene. Owing tothe desirable properties, Ti3C2 garnered significant progress in (i) large-size flexible photodetector formationwithout altering the structural and charge carrier properties, (ii) replacing conventional metal electrodesby electrically conductive Ti3C2 in Ti3C2-semiconductor-Ti3C2 (MX-S-MX) photodetector, and (iii)Schottky junction formation at the interface of various semiconductors. Finally, we conclude the status of2D Ti3C2 MXene applicability, challenges, and possible viewpoints for advancement in next-generationphotodetectors.

Rapidly increasing world population and industrialization are difficult to balance our environment. Monitoring water pollution, depletion of fossil fuels, and greenhouse gas emissions is paramount forthe safety of our ecological system. This review is intended to address the environmental monitoringapplications (toxic matter degradation, H2 evolution, CO2 reduction, and N2 reduction) through the possibleinterfacial insights involved between various bismuth (Bi) based semiconductors and 2D Ti3C2MXenes. In this spotlight, we explored strategic point contact (0D/2D) and face contact (2D/2D) interfaceinformation towards superior charge carrier generation, separation, and shortened charge transfer pathunder suppressed recombination. Considering the diverse morphological advancements in Ti3C2 (multilayer,monolayer, QDs, and completely derived C-TiO2), unique interfacial charge transport mechanismswere revealed. Band alignment modulations distinguishably functionalized the charge carrier separationand its participation in photocatalytic activity. With the control on face contact 2D/2D interface, abundantsurface-active sites promoted toxic dye degradation, CO2, and N2 reduction. Overall, this reviewdescribed the concept of advancements in surface interfacial interaction. Finally, challenges and perspectiveson future research are also provided.
Statebuilding without Exit Strategy in Kosovo: Stability, Clientelism, and Corruption

This paper argues that political stability was the main paradigm of the UN administrative mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). UNMIK has pursued this goal at the expense of democratization, economic development, and a clear vision for Kosovo. An insistence on working with local political elites with the aim of maintaining stability has greatly empowered these elites, at the cost of democratic consolidation. As a mission that has operated with an open-ended mandate and without an exit strategy, UNMIK co-opted the local political elites and gave tacit approval to their client-patron logic of governance and corruptive affairs in exchange for achieving what we call “negative stability” and postponing a final resolution of Kosovo’s political status. In the period following the country’s independence and European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) deployment, the same political elites consolidated their power and continued to build their clientelist networks and avoid public accountability. The paper concludes that despite massive investments, EULEX, like UNMIK, has prioritized stability at the cost of democratization.
The structural analysis of MWCNT-SiO2 and electrical properties on device application

Al/MWCNT-SiO2/p-Si device were obtained using chemical techniques and characterized using the I-V (under dark and light conditions) and C-V measurements depending on various frequency. MWCNT-SiO2 composite layer of the device were also characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM and TGA measurements. These all results indicated that the MWCNT-SiO2 layer synthesized successfully on Si wafer as a composite form with chemical processes and spin coating. I-V measurements showed that device has good rectifying properties, small saturation current and good photodiode properties. Solar cell conversion efficiency (hp) and fill factor (FF) values of the device also were calculated as 0.12% and 47.6%, respectively. It could be seen from C-V measurements that capacitance and conductance properties of the device strongly depended on frequency and voltage. It may be used and improved this device as rectifier, photodiode and capacitor in the future.
Some applications for generalized fractional operators in analytic functions spaces

In this study a new generalization for operators of two parameters type of fractional in the unit disk is proposed. The fractional operators in this generalization are in the Srivastava-Owa sense. Concerning with the related applications, the generalized Gauss hypergeometric function is introduced. Further, some boundedness properties on Bloch space are also discussed.
Posterior-Only Approach with Pedicle Screws for the Correction of Scheuermann’s Kyphosis

Study Design: Retrospective study (level of evidence: level 3). Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiological results of the posterior-only approach with pedicle screws for the treatment of Scheuermann’s kyphosis (SK). Overview of Literature: The correction of SK with instrumentation can be performed using posterior-only or combined anteriorposterior procedures. With the use of all-pedicle screw constructs in spine surgery, the posterior-only approach has become a popular option for the definitive treatment of SK. In a nationwide study involving 2,796 patients, a trend toward posterior-only fusion with lower complication rates was reported. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of patients who underwent posterior-only correction for SK between January 2005 and May 2013. Patients with a definite diagnosis of SK who fulfilled the minimum follow-up criterion of 24 months were included. The thoracic kyphosis (T5–T12), lumbar lordosis (L1–S1), and thoracolumbar junction (T10–L2) angles were measured from preoperative, postoperative, and last control radiographs. Sagittal balance, thoracic length, thoracic diameter, Voutsinas index and the sacral slope, pelvic tilt, proximal junction kyphosis, and distal junction kyphosis angles were also measured. Results: Forty-five patients underwent surgery for the treatment of SK between 2005 and 2013. After applying the exclusion criteria, 20 patients (18 males and 2 females) with a mean age of 19 years were included. The mean thoracic kyphosis angle was 79.8 degrees preoperatively, 44.6 degrees postoperatively, and 44.9 degrees at the last control. There were statistically significant differences between preoperative and postoperative values in the thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis angles, thoracic length, thoracic diameter, and Voutsinas index (p <0.05). Conclusions: The clinical and radiological results of the current study suggest that posterior-only fusion is an efficient technique for the treatment of SK.
DETERMINATION OF THE REMAINING METHANE POTENTIAL OF LANDFILLED WASTES

In this study, a comparison of methane (CH₄) generation rates for two test cells, one operated with (enhanced) and one without leachate recirculation at Odayeri Sanitary Landfill was performed by biological methane potential (BMP) test. Initial methane potential was approximately 34,5㎥ CH₄/wet ton. The remaining methane potential for the control cell (H1) and the enhanced cell (H2) is determined to be 32,6 ㎥ CH₄/wet ton and 31,1 ㎥CH₄/wet ton of refuse after 8 months of operation. Thus, H2 test cell shows more decomposition relative to the H1 test cell.

본 논문에서는 BMP 실험이 수행된 Odayeri 위생 매립지에서 침출수 재순환시설이 없는 셀과 재순환 시설을 갖춘 셀에 대하여 메탄 발생을 비교하였다. 초기의 메탄 잠재능은 대략 34,5 m3CH4/wet ton이었다. 제어되는 셀(H1) 및 강화된 셀(H2)의 잔존 메탄 잠재능은 운전 8개월 이 후 잔량의 각각 32,6 m3CH4/wet ton, 31,1 m3CH4/wet ton 이었다. 그러므로, H2 실험 셀이 H1 실험 셀에 비해 좀 더 분해가 잘 되는 것으로 나타났다.
